We have 2 daughters living in SLC that could not come home for Christmas…so we went to them! Our other 4 adult children were able to stay in Sugar House with us and we had a lovely Christmas. The dining table was ample enough for all the family plus some local friends of daughters who had no family in town. Loved being able to fit 11 people around the table for Christmas dinner. The hot water was phenomenal. A plus when showering for 6 is happening. And I had the pleasure of a jacuzzi while the others were out. There were a few essentials in short supply. It is a quirky old house (as many old houses are) with lots of character and a little TLC needed but mostly a very positive situation and experience for us.

This property was perfect for my family. It is in a great location. The kids had plenty of room to play when we were at the house. They loved sleeping in the loft!
Although we had a few issues while staying there the property owner was very responsive when we had to reach out.

We brought to your attention the cockroach issue. We found them every day and have pix and videos to share. Your response of surprise does not suffice. If we find cockroaches in our luggage at home you’ll be receiving a bill for extermination.

Took multiple days to hear back from host when less than a week from check in. Property was fine, nothing special. Worth mentioning the basement ceiling is very low if you are taller.

Overall it was a nice stay. The space is great and the location is perfect. The host was responsive to questions about access and overall was very friendly. The issue, however is: It didn't seem like the place had been cleaned thoroughly between visitors and the impression really suffered. The dishes were all dirty in the cupboards and one cupboard even had food crumbs scattered on the shelves (I have pictures). No one had cleaned under the beds and it was off putting especially for an otherwise really great place. I'm inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt and especially around the holidays, things get missed. Your stay might be different than mine.

Was a perfect place to stay. Had enough room for everyone. We enjoyed lots of day trips around the area. The mountains are the BEST.
Appreciated prompt responses for entry codes. Happy New Year Art & Kathy.

We came to Utah for the ski resort, it was about a 45 minute drive to most of the resorts. The stores are nearby, so it made it easy to buy grocery and/or order food. The house is a little old but it had everything we needed and felt very cozy. The house and linens were clean and had enough space/linens for our party. The owner was responsive to our need. Easy check in and check out.

We were all in town for a family wedding. Four of us snagged this great property while the rest opted for a hotel. We had everyone over for dinner on a hot summer afternoon and evening. We easily cooked for and served 19 with the provided plates, etc., including plastic for the small fry. Peace and quiet for those staying in the house, and everything we needed for extended family. Very comfortable, hosts very responsive to issues.

Family Vacation
This property was a perfect location for our week long stay to visit family and friends. Being from the area we are familiar with the old homes and all the quirks and charms that come along with them. Although the property could do with some upgrades or improvements, it did not hinder our experience at all. The owners are very responsive and the house had everything we needed. Would recommend and stay again.

Just what we needed
This house has a lot of room and a great back yard. We wanted a place where our extended family could all stay together but have their own rooms. This had 4 bedrooms (5 if you count the bunk room for kids) and 3 bathrooms. It is an older place so it's kinda funky in the layout but it was VERY clean, comfortable beds, and had everything we needed. The owners went above and beyond to make it a great stay!

Nice Affordable Place
Owner was communicative and check in/out was easy. Place was clean. Internet worked
2 issues, pots/pans need replacing and we had to use a salad spinner for draining pasta. When you say you have tv’s, make sure it reads 1 non-smart tv with digital antenna only. No cable. I mean Roku TV’s are like $130 each now? It would make such a difference in your rental.

Our Stay
Clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation with very attentive and communicative hosts. Could use a few updated pots and pans in the kitchen but otherwise very happy with our stay.

Great location in SLC
We came here for the Christmas break 2021. We arrived late Christmas Eve but our daughter already had access to bring some things. All we need was the code to enter into the house. We had plenty of bedrooms for all of us. The kitchen worked great for us. House is in sugar house part of SLC so driving around the valley is super ready and I15 and I80 were close by. The airport is about 15 or 20 minutes away. The vacuum in the house wasn't functioning so the owners dropped another one off to use. They responded quickly. WiFi was good. We liked it so a lot.

Overall good experience.
House upstairs was a bit dated, but in good shape and clean. Downstairs appeared newly remodeled. Kind a strange layout and low ceiling, but very clean and neat.

Not Ethical!!!! RUN AWAY!!!
We paid in ADVANCE to rent this property for a high occupancy week during a convention in September 2016. Our rental was just canceled, out of the blue, by THIS owner after receiving our money. The reason given was that the property is being sold. In searching for a new rental, this listing comes up again as available during the EXACT DATES that were canceled on us.
BUYER BEWARE - ITS A TRAP!!!!!
We have filed a formal complaint with VRBO on this property and owner for unethical practices and false advertisement of goods.

Nice location and clean
It was pretty much as advertised. It was an older home which gave it a lot of character. The owner was prompt when we texted her about the internet and burned out light bulbs. We were able to correct those things with little effort. The upstairs floor is pretty squeaky so if you plan to have babies or small children down stairs it might wake them up. It was nice to have three bathrooms and four bedrooms. Our grandchildren loved the many doors and crawl spaces they only peeked in to because it reminded them of "Harry Potters" room. Loved that we had a garage to park in. The garage door to the back yard was almost impossible to open so we just used the front door. The location was fabulous!!!

Close to downtown SLC and comfortable stay!
Loved staying so close to downtown SLC! It was pretty much what I was expecting, comfortable home to just hang out and sleep in. It was really all we needed because we were here for a conference. I love that it's also close to so many amazing places to eat and Whole Foods is right around the corner (5 min drive). The owners were prompt about replying to emails but the only reason why I subtracted a star was because I wasn't really given any information about address of home after my full payment was processed and I had to send them an email 2 days prior to me arriving to get the info. Otherwise, great location, great home, nice and kind owners. We loved it!

Perfect for our family Christmas
Thank you, Kathy and Art, for a wonderful house for our family Christmas get-together! The neighborhood is so lovely, and the house is great--so cozy, yet large enough for plenty of room for everyone. Lovely furnishings, and the kitchen was easy to cook in, clean and well-stocked with everything we could need. We appreciate that when we called about the dvd player, Kathy responded immediately--even on Christmas Eve!

Great House!
Wow, I was just showing some of my family this house that we stayed in, earlier this year, and came accross this unfavorable review!! Looks like we stayed just before this booking. I wrote an excellent review, because that is what we thought of the house, and our standards of cleanliness are very high!! There were no bugs! We will be staying again in February and are looking forward to it!

Nice House in Sugarhouse
Very Nice visit to Salt Lake City. House was clean, well stocked, kitchen and dining room are great for big family gatherings, and had everything we needed to cook for large groups. Owners were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful Autumn Colors this time of year. Great Trip!! Would stay here again!

Not what we were hoping for.
We travel to Salt Lake City frequently for work and other ventures, and have always had great experiences with VRBO. This was not one of them. Upon arriving, we turned the kitchen light on and watched a cockroach run across the counter. There were multiple spiders, webs, and dust bunnies in the corners and ceilings of the bedrooms, and vents. There was used soap in the shower, mold growing on the shower curtains, grime on the window treatments, food crusted on many of the dishes, and the internet was not working. We tried to live with it, but after finding hair, dirt, and stains in the dressers, we contacted the owners. Their email response was gracious, the internet was fixed, and they offered to have the "cleaning service" come over the next day at a convenient time for us. We called and left a voicemail to discuss our options, and never heard back from them. When we returned home the next day, there was a lady who identified herself as the cleaning lady in the house, unannounced. She was nice, and had me point out what I had noticed, and cleaned those areas. However, she left the used bars of soap in the showers, the other vents dirty, and anything I had not noticed at that point dirty. I was with my family, and didn't oversee everything as she cleaned, assuming she would see how dirty the house was, and take care of it.
While I was uncomfortable that she let herself in unannounced, identified herself as the cleaning lady, and then on her way out decided she was the owner, she was nice, so I decided to just chalk it up to having different standards of cleanliness. We left a second voicemail that day, to try and discuss our options, and again, we never heard back.
We feel like they were totally dishonest about "the cleaning company", they never returned our phone calls, and the house was frankly the dirtiest home we have stayed in. The ad also advertises new granite counters, and instead we found cracking laminate in the kitchen and no granite in the bathrooms. While this is by no means a deal breaker, the fact that they would lie on their advertisement, speaks volumes.
Our experience was very disappointing, and we would not recommend this home.

what a great place!
This large but cozy home was everything that we expected :0) Great and safe location, nicely furnished, spacey, the kitchen has everything you could ever need, the yard is private and totally enclosed (great for kiddos), but most importantly it was very clean. We were a large group of 8 ladies and 4 men, so the 3 bathrooms were a real plus. Thank you for making this a great place to stay, we had a great visit!

Great place to stay for skiing.
We stayed at Art and Kathy's place for 5 days/nights to ski. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. The house was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Kathy was great to work with. She went out of her way to see to it that we had what we needed. It was great to be so close to the ski areas where we wanted to ski. It is also very convenient to get to stores and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Art and Kathy!

Anual High School Friend Retreat
We loved this location. We will be staying here again next year. There was ample room for eleven of us to gather in the dining/living area to visit. Eight stayed at night and slept comfortabley. As we were leaving we noticed the two couches make into, almost, king size beds. We will definitely utilize those next year. It felt like home away from home...clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped and easy to get around in. We ventured out both to the north and south of the city for dinners, to shop the malls and take in a movie. Sugarhouse Park, only a few blocks away, provided a great walking path for those of us who like to get our exercise. Thank you for a great place to stay!

Salt Lake City
My husband, daughter and I came to Salt Lake City for my son's graduation from college. What a beautiful home. It was so nice to stay in your home than a hotel. Every morning we had our coffee out on the front porch. The house was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you might need. It is also close to everything. We took walks through the neighborhoods. I would definitely recommend your property. Thanks again!

We had a great stay in this house while in Utah. There were 5 of us, plenty of room for all! We were there to ski and were within 30 minutes of all ski hills, we covered Canyons, Snowbird, Powder Mountain and Brighton. Kitchen was nice and big and had all the accomodations we needed. We were a short distance from a great little town with lots of restaurants, grocery store and other shopping (if needed).
The only thing missing was a second bathroom, I was the only female, not a big deal for us so much but add a few more females and a second bathroom would be nice.
Kathy was extremely helpful with booking and any questions we had once we got there!
