Our cottage is one of seven in a charming old Cape cottage community.
Our cottage is a short drive or bike-ride to a number of attractions including the Cape's last Drive-In Movie theater, live performances at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (W.H.A.T.), The Harbor Stage Theater, magnificent ocean beaches, the Audubon Sanctuary, the Rail Trail, fresh-water kettle ponds, live music at a number of restaurants and bars, the famous French pastries of P.B. Many people feel our cottage reminds them of the old Cape, when things were simpler, smaller, more rustic. If you are looking for a new, large, shiny rental, this may not be your cup of tea. If you are looking for a charming throw back to an earlier simpler time, then our Cozy Cottage may be just the bit of old Cape Cod you've been dreaming of.

For those that know the area, this cottage was once one of the many cottages that line the bay shore in Truro, it was moved in the 1950's (along with others on the property) and expanded over the years. It more spacious than it seems in the pictures and would be a great place to book with a small group of friends. Everything was very clean and it's well stocked with many necessities. The owner was very responsive and friendly. We'll certainly be back (we've already discussed it, in fact). Lovely place in every regard!

We stayed here as a family of three in August ‘24. It fit our needs perfectly and we are already looking at coming back for next year. The house is so cute and well appointed - the kitchen, the cd and game collections, a gas and charcoal grill outside, a French press and a drip coffee maker, an outdoor shower, quality pots and pans. It really hit the spot for a relaxing week long get away. Thank you so much!

Every was there, only issue could be the shower is really small and it was hard to adjust the water temp.

This lovely cottage sits in a very quiet neighborhood just off of Highway 6 in Wellfleet, MA. You'll enjoy the night on a very private deck listening to crickets in the back yard. The cabin itself is well appointed with three sleeping areas, plus a pull out couch, an amazing outdoor shower, and a working fireplace for those cool Cape nights. You have quick access to several beaches on the ocean and bay side of Cape Cod. Forget the world if you want, wi-fi is available, but there is no TV to distract you from seals and sunsets on a variety of sandy beaches. This is one of the nicest places that I have stayed and I hope to come back soon.

We loved this simple, small cottage. Quaint and absolutely clean - great little deck and outdoor shower. Well equipped kitchen. Pure cape with no TV! Hooray! And quiet location with walking access to beach and drive to nearby attractions. Perfect for a couple - or couple with small child. Tiny rooms. We are definitely returning to this ‘find’ for a relaxing vacation.

Quiet cottage in a perfect location
This cottage was a lovely, relaxing place to stay. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. A small cottage in a wooded, quiet area, though not far from several small cottages in the same complex. I was there by myself half the time and felt very safe and was then joined by a friend, and it was fine for two people. Loved the bike path nearby, the PB Boulangerie, and several of the beaches, and the hosts were friendly and responsive. A few caveats: while clean, the cottage felt like it hadn't had a thorough cleaning in a while; I was disappointed by the leftover fire waste in the fireplace, which stopped me from using it, and the difficulty with the indoor shower (if curtain is one inch out of place water goes all over floor). (The outdoor shower is great, but with no light in that shower it's hard to use at night). Overall, a great place (that could benefit from a little attention).

Quaint, cozy, and a home away from home!
This was a great place to stay. Easy access to beaches (and more), quiet and comfortable for sleeping, and full amenities. Loved it AND the outdoor shower! I will definitely book again.

Great location, cute place, very affordable
This is a cute, cozy cabin for a small family or couple. It's well stocked with everything to have a good time. It would be fun to rent for a week in the summer. My only complaint is that linens and towels are not provided which, for us, was quite inconvenient since we flew in from the West Coast and arrived late on a Sunday evening.

Nice cozy cottage
The cottage is very nice, well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture and beds. It is great for 2 people and a child. Outside shower works well- indoor shower needed some work which owner was going to address. Owners are very responsive- neighborhood very quiet!

The Cozy Cottage is a Great Escape!
Located minutes from beaches, restaurants and shopping, the Cozy Cottage was the perfect spot for our Cape Cod getaway. Quaint but comfortable it had all of the amenities that we needed for our stay. Definitely recommend!

Perfect even when the weather isn’t!
The Cozy was exactly as advertised. Chris was as close as a quick call if needed. A perfect central Cape location and everything we needed had been thought of. October on the Cape—highly recommended. In our short stay we found places where we were essentially by ourselves. Try the White Cedar Swamp trail- it’s only a 5 minute drive away near the Marconi site. Thanks Chris.

Rustic meets Cozy and Comfortable
Cottage is exactly as advertised. It is an older renovated cottage with all you need for a comfortable stay. The location is off the main road and traffic was light to non-existent. Kitchen is more than adequate for prep needs and there is a large library of books and music to pick from. The lack of TV is not a problem unless you are truly addicted to the tube. In that case if you bring your laptop you can stream on the very good wifi. The owner was available for any questions we had and knowledgeable about the area. Great areas to watch sunsets are within minutes biking or driving. Wellfleet center is a short drive with small grocer, package store and its own restaurants and harbor area. Nice cottage, good owners and convenient location to P-town, Cape Cod National Seashore and Race Point Beach and dune areas. All Good.

Pros and Cons
PROS... Great location near beaches, trails, S Wellfleet. Very nicely decorated, cute great room space, well supplied with basics.
CONS... We paid a cleaning fee despite fact that we left place “very tidy” ( owners words) Since they do their own cleaning, we felt that we should have been reimbursed since none was needed.
Bedrooms- have no closets and are tiny. A larger person would not be able to walk around the bed in “master”. My husband kept his clothes on bed in second bedroom which was also very small.
Grills- rusty/ dirty and therefore unusable.

Lovely Cottage
It truly is a cozy cottage, but light and open as well. We enjoyed the colors and fabrics of the furnishings. There are many ceiling lines, beams etc that make for interest wherever your eye rests. The two beds were perfectly comfortable. The futon not so much, but good for children. There's a lovely Wellfleet Conservation trail just up the road that meanders down to the marsh.

Relaxing stay
About what I expected! Wanted something small in the woods, near hiking, walkable to water, and with outdoor space. Comfy beds and fully stocked kitchen. Fun week!

Requires some improvements
Two or three things to improve. The cleanliness of the dishes, the BBQ that should be changed as well as the air conditioning (very noisy and not very effective). There was also a smell in the house not very agreable. It's unfortunate because the style of the house is very good as well as the location. Hope these comments will be helpful.

Hazardous and Filthy
According to their maintenance man -- who was called in an emergency -- the owners maintain and clean their cottage themselves as of late. He (and we) were shocked to see serious problems that made our stay quite stressful.
The hazards:
- During a tornado watch and storm, main window 15 inches from queen bed doesn't close. We text, call, and message the owners. No reply, then, three hours later: "we are off cape" and maintenance man is called; he arrives, is aghast at the state of the window, furious with the owners, who called on a number he never checks, says they may not pay him; manages to shove his weight against the window frame and jerk it inch by inch; says not to close or open it again; he is shocked the place is in disrepair. Says, "good luck;"
- A heavy shelf fell on my neck, along with many hardcover books; it's a newer shelf and is clearly cheap; it was propped up with a single book, we realized later.
- Old sliding door, rusty nails sticking out of discarded wood boards and in the grass, and other trash are all over the property. Watch your feet/kids!
Other issues:
- Broken glass all over two kitchen shelves when we arrived;
- Broken toilet seat when we arrived (couldn't sit on toilet);
- Bathroom glass shelf unusable; about to fall on bathroom sink;
- Toilet paper holder falling out of wall;
- Main living room light doesn't work;
- Vinyl bathroom floor is filthy and decaying;
- Potent peppermint spray on a timer fills the living room, the only room with an air conditioner, to deter mice. Considering the mouse droppings under the furniture, it doesn't work.
- Wolf spiders, various egg sacs, and ants all over the place; a quick sweep and a mop between renters doesn't address this, nor do the ant traps in front of the kitchen counters;
- Filthy grills and fireplace;
- On porch, holes in screens, broken window panes, termite damage, windows that don't open;
- During the heat wave, the ONLY place we could sleep was the living room; watch out for the filthy AC and the peppermint spray, which Chris says must stay on;
- Four people is too many when it's hot; the porch becomes a sauna and the bedrooms are tiny;
- Major loud construction across the street.
It's a shame this beautifully built cottage has been so cheaply and poorly maintained. The owners must make a killing. Chris's only reply to all of this: she fixed the toilet seat but didn't address our other concerns. Her mantra: the "Cozy Cottage" is 100 years old.

Beyond our expectations
Chris and Paul were wonderful with ideas for adventures in Wellfleet -as well as coming right over if we called due to a concern that turned out to be a small, silly problem that we had caused.
The design of the cottage interior gave a sense of privacy and comfort. All appliances were in order and Chris and Paul must have devoted a great deal of time being sure that they provided so many amenities that one could feel right at home and if something was left at home - it was probably right there.
The location is a big plus. A quiet road, but nature areas like the Audubon Wellfleet Bay Nature Sanctuary and great Island are quite close. There are many high-quality Art Galleries -many right in the center. I could write on and on .......The best lodging of this type we've had on the Cape in over 20 years..

Fabulous Wellfleet Cottage!
We had a terrific experience and feel very fortunate the dates of our vacation were available. The cottage is clean, cozy and well-equipped for all your cooking needs. Additionally, there is a terrific library in the living room.
I spent my summers growing up in the Wellfleet area and returned every summer through graduate school. It’s an amazing part of the Cape! The cottage is well-located just off Route 6. The National Seashore beaches, Cape Cod bike trail, the iconic Wellfleet Drive-in and Audubon Sanctuary are a 10 minute drive away.
Now living in Texas, I was also VERY excited to visit the new Dunkin Donuts located less than a mile from the cottage each morning before driving our 8-year-old son to the superb Audubon Children’s Camp each morning!
The neighbors I interacted with were delightful.
Lastly, on a side note, I was pleased to learn that the cottage owner is spearheading the local area campaign to discourage the use of plastic straws as it’s not only harmful to our environment, but to our sea creatures who ingest them. Everywhere we ate, such as Mac’s in both P-Town and Wellfleet, we thanked them for not using plastic straws or stirrers in our drinks.
In summary, highly recommend staying here and suggest booking early! Gems like this are hard to find.
Enjoy Wellfleet!!!!!

Cozy Cape Cottage
We had such a nice time at the cottage. The common room is spacious with a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable sofa and chairs, and a good-sized table for dining or playing board games. The bedrooms are small with little storage, so pack light. The beds are comfortable. The indoor shower is a tight squeeze but certainly adequate. The enclosed outdoor shower is a delight. We appreciated the quiet street, the proximity to the bike trail, the short drive to downtown Wellfleet with its shops and restaurants, and the resident bunnies in the yard. We like to try new places when we travel, but, if we return to Wellfleet, we will certainly see if this cottage is available.

Loved our stay - such attention to detail
We have stayed in many VRBO type rentals, and this cottage stands out for our hosts attention to detail. This cottage has excellent beds and high quality bedding (pillows and comforters), speedy wifi, is well designed creating a quaint and lovely atmosphere including a kitchen with everything you might need, comfortable furniture, a carefully chosen collection of magazines, books, CDs and games, Bose sound wave music system, ceiling fans, and the place was spotless. While this is a small and modest cottage, all of these details together made for an unusually lovely experience. Even my picky 84 year old mother commented on how nice it was, and we would come back here in a heart beat.

Just what we needed
A short weekend on the outer cape, just before the crowds arrive. We couldn't have asked for a cuter, more well-equipped and designed cottage for a reprieve. We loved the outdoor shower and the kitchen set-up. A lovely and quiet place to visit, with so many opportunities for being near water or conservation land trails.
Thank you!

Great cottage for our long weekend
Four of us visited the cozy cottage. All four adults slept comfortably here. The outdoor shower was a big hit too. Chris and Paul were really helpful when we had a few follow up questions. Overall, really great stay here!

A great cozy cape cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage- it was just perfect for our family of 4. The setting is very quiet at night except for the wildlife noises. We spent most of our daytime enjoying the beautiful beaches and evening time at the great restaurants. During the rest of our downtime did not miss having a tv - we played clue which we haven't done in ages and listened to cds and read. The outdoor shower was great - we loved it! We will definitely stay here again!
