Fabulous, well equipped little cottage right in the centre of the village. Great log burner that was useful as it was so cold. Nice to have the balcony for when the weather is sunny!
Nothing really. Layout is quirky but you get used to it!

Really good location for exploring the area. Beds very comfortable. Lovely balcony overlooking the cricket ground. Well equipped kitchen.
The TV is tiny and has a picture fault. Parking is a problem, we were politely asked to move our car and many of the houses in the village have signs in the windows asking not to park there.

Very good location in the centre of Hayfield village. Owner kindly allowed early bag/food drop off. Parked outside The George Hotel pub opposite; it serves a good Guinness. Spent two wonderful days walking to Kinder Scout and Edale; trails start just a short distance from the property. Cottage has very adequate cooking and bathroom facilities. Sit on the balcony and appreciate the views yonder.
No freezer compartment in the fridge. We went in hot June so no issues with open windows but those going in winter will find the place rather cold. If more people book, the owner will be able to replace the blown double glazing.

Centrally located in the village but tucked away off the High St - very quiet - had everything we needed - good kitchen & great shower - lovely view out the back onto the river & cricket ground
TV was showing green lines around faces - maybe an upgrade?

A hidden away cosy cottage in the middle of the village. Exceptionally clean inside. Snug but with everything needed for a short stay. Great shower too.
Nothing ! Some people may not like downstairs bathroom and there were several steps to navigate within the house though these were not a problem for us.

The location of this place is great as a base for exploring the peak district. The house has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay.
There was no dedicated parking outside. The area is very popular so it was difficult at times to find somewhere to park our car.

Good location but parking could be difficult. Has the basics but needs a bit of a clean and touch up in places.
wrong access code given so had to call to gain access luckily it wasn’t raining, only 1 key, shower over bath but no where to hang shower head so you have to hold it. extractor fan so full of dust it doesn’t open, a few areas have paint or wallpaper peeling and ceiling has dark patches that need painting, no feedback form in welcome folder even though it asks you to fill one in. bedroom doors don’t close unless you really yank them not ideal when trying to put a toddler to bed quietly. very low ceiling above stairs not much they could do about that but a bit of a warning would be good. dark step in middle of kitchen that everyone tripped on at least once a high vis edge would help. nothing felt particularly clean, had a few hairs in the bed. didn’t mind the old condiments left in cupboards. bedroom cupboards were storing some old boxes in, not ideal if you are bringing a lot of stuff with you.

Lovely little cottage in a quiet and peaceful location.
As we arrived at night it was difficult to find, maybe information stating that the cottage was down the side would be helpful.

love the location.
Was a bit cold.
5.0 / 10.0
a good location would be great in the summer to watch cricket overlooking a green and a good location for walking in countryside, good local pub and amenities
It would have been nice and warmer if the fire worked and the property had the bare minimum of equipment and all the dimmer lighting needs attention

Great little cottage lovely view especially in the snow
the only downside the downstairs was cold without being able to use fire bedrooms were lovely and warm but it was an exceptionally cold weekend

Nice little cottage for the abled bodied.. Mum struggled with bathroom downstairs through the night
Rented for Christmas weekend... No Christmas decorations up at all and was unable to have a fire... Was a note saying don't use due to birds nesting???? Then in book said chimney had not been swept... Water backing up in the bath.. Brown at that so did not wish to use.... So cold we had to use cooker to warm sitting room and sit my 86 year old mother on the stairs to get warm

Beautiful location in every way, gorgeous village and the ideal location for the Peak District, whatever your reason! could hear the quacking ducks on the stream in the morning and amazing value.
Just a few finishing touches would have made it perfect. I had to go and get some scented candles because of the lack of ventilation. Appreciate the place may not have been used for a few days/ week but the windows needed reflected the same.

The house is very quaint and ideal, the location was amazing close to everything. The village and surrounding areas are beautiful. The people in the village were so nice as was the lady who came to clean the house just as we were leaving. Will most definitely recommend it and will be returning.

Great location. Very pretty spot. Can sit out on the balcony for breakfast and catch the sun. Pub across the road has good food and great atmosphere. Kitchen well equipped.
This could be a great place but a few things that could be changed would make a big difference to my rating.
It needs a new bed. Very uncomfortable. Great if you like a bath but not if you usually shower as you need to sit in the bath. Towels also need replacing as they don't look very clean and are very old. TV is small but not a problem.

Cosy little place in a quiet beautiful village. Easy to find a space to park. You have everything you need for a great self-catering holiday.

We’re back in Australia for 2 weeks now and still thinking how good our stay was at the cottage. Lovely place, lovely village, great view over cricket pitch, I watched the whole game on the balcony. Village has everything you need, although we shopped at M&S in Glossop, only 4 miles away. Plenty of parking out the front.
Wonderful hiking nearby easily accessed from the village. Warm and comfortable cottage with everything you need.
Would be good to have a clothes dryer, although I’m not sure where you could fit it in!

Great location, balcony over river a great bonus. Good for short stay but would find the cottage too small if staying for longer.
Decor starting to look a little tired as well as some of the kitchen plates. Description needs clearer notes on differing floor levels in bathroom and especially up and into the kitchen. I suggest the edge of the step down into the kitchen has hazard tape applied as both of us tripped on entering.

location was perfect and the host was exceptional in providing help with a couple of personal requests which we were very grateful for.
would repeat what others have said but only to help improve the experience on this wonderful little cottage.
needs a shower head holder!

We absolutely loved this cottage! The balcony over the stream was definitely the highlight for me as I love the sound of running water.
The kitchen is small but has everything you need for your stay.
Location is fantastic. There are loads of places that are 30mins drive away and Hayfield is a good starting point for lots of walking routes too! Not to mention the lovely pub right opposite :)
My only grumbles are that you can't pop the shower on the wall, you have to hold it and that the log burner in the pictures is for display purposes only. Having said that, the cottage was still lovely and warm.

Great location for me. Nice and quiet with a lovely view out the back from the balcony above the river. Very pleasant.
Needs some love and thought. The lounge is quite impersonal. Cheap furniture. The sofa was uncomfortable and the coffee table came apart if you wanted to move it. Also, the lighting was awful in the lounge. One bright ceiling light. I had to bring a table lamp down from upstairs. Small TV was functional.
The bathroom would benefit most from an upgrade including somewhere to hang the shower head. Who installs an over bath shower with nowhere to actually put the head? Possibly the main annoyance of my stay.

Great location in the centre of the village. Well stocked kitchen utensils good quality bed linen with comfortable beds. Very enjoyable sitting on the balcony watching a cricket match on the green below.
Perhaps having a fitting for the shower on the wall so that it did not have to be hand held. Not really a complaint at all but I could not think of anything else to write

Loved the balcony and the stream
Lovely bath
Fully equipped kitchen except no chopping board
Beds weren't the comfiest with dips in the mattress
Parking could be a bit tricky at times
Light didn't work in single bedroom
