Valerie provides an excellent kitchen. All the appliances work perfectly and everything is available to prepare meals. We ate in more than we planned because it is so easy.
The location with Port Saint Goustan a few steps from the front door is ideal for a walk. Carnac, Vannes, and Saint Anne d'Auray are less than 30 minutes. It was a pleasure to stay in the "fisherman's" cottage.

A great little spot.
Ty Savior cottage is very cute and well equipped with everything we needed. (It was so nice to finally see a decent set of pots and pans in self-catering accommodation.) It is located in the most magical place. We stayed over Christmas so got to experience the Christmas lights and drink mulled wine whilst taking in the atmosphere of Auray at this time of year. I would definitely recommend a visit to this little town and the lovely cottage Ty Saviour.

Lovely Property
Fabulous house, tastefully decorated, clean and well equipped for a stay, we are a couple so used only the double room. The bed was comfortable, cleaning and towels are extra unless you bring you your own or clean yourself. This was a last-minute decision for us and we were not disappointed. Mme Valerie Rouffineau was very helpful and pleasant and we had no problems with access, we didn’t have to call on her as there was no problems.
The location is quiet, yet very close to the port Saint Goustan, a few minutes walk away. The streets around Auray and Saint Goustan are very picturesque and great for an evening walk. The house is located on a hill so you do need to negotiate the short, yet steep hill to reach the quay front, no issue if you are ambulant. So why not 5 stars? Essentially there is no outside space, so on a hot evening and cooking at the house you had to stay in doors to eat. You can get around this by opening the doors and windows and letting the outside in and this worked well, although I think you could manage a small table outside or sit outside with the food on your lap if you were careful! The sun shines along the street in the evening which is lovely. The road is not busy as it’s a dead end so traffic is very light. If you eat out each night this won’t be a problem for you.
Parking was not an issue, there was a spot next to the house, parking near the church or along the streets, failing that you could park up the hill in the car park. We never had to do this and we went out every day and managed to use the same spot each evening next to the house. We stayed in late June/July. The drive down from Roscoff was about 2.5hrs none stop.
The town is quiet, although the quay is busy each evening when the sun is hot and you can enjoy it until late into the evening at the bars/restaurants – the bars and Saint Goustan is west facing. We ate in so I can’t say much about the restos. The weather was mixed so on overcast days we visited attractions around Morbihan, Josselin, Vannes, the submarine base (we very much enjoyed this), Domaine de Kerguehennec, and the medieval village Melrand (Village de l’An Mil), we took something from all of them. On hot days we used the beach at Carnac which was sandy, with lovely soft sand and a shallow incline into the sea, the facilitates are on the left hand side of the bay as you look at if from the sea, shops, toilets are close and parking wasn’t an issue mid-week when we went.
Enjoy

Excellent location, lovely house.
Lovely 18th century house, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Thick stone walls kept it beautifully cool in the hot weather. Superb location just a few minutes walk from the old port of St. Goustan. Parking in the street/finding space in the free car parks was easy at the time we went in June. It was a very useful base for exploring the area with easy access to just about everywhere! If you have had enough of the beautiful coastline, the museum of the French Resistance at St Marcel was very good. We also enjoyed the free tour round the sardine canning factory at Quiberon. Valerie gave us a very warm welcome and also responds very promptly to any queries. We thoroughly enjoyed the local cider and crisps she kindly gave us. We had a wonderful holiday and would love to return.

Do not rent this place unless you a) speak perfect French, and b) are willing to pay the cleaning fee, because no matter how well you clean it, it will not be sufficient. I don't understand why people make a place a showpiece and then rent it out.
The minute we walked in we loved it... and were immediately afraid of breaking something. Things only got worse when we met the owner, who gave us a dirty look after asking what "that noise was" and being told it was the washing machine (listed as an amenity). She then took a picture of the electric meter. Excuse me, I believe power is generally included!?! Given this not very pleasant vibe, we decided to take pictures right before we left to show we had cleaned it. And sure enough, she claimed we had not cleaned! We have rented many places and the most commonly used word to describe how we leave places is "immaculate". This is exactly how we left this place, with pictures to prove it. Ultimately we decided it was worth the 20 euros of "damage" to be done with this owner and move on instead of fight her obvious lies. I will be sticking with (the other main home rental company that Home Away won't let me mention in this review) from now on since they have a much better rating system to weed out people like this one who is clearly in it for the money and not for the hospitality. Luckily our one other Homeaway rental on this trip was super nice and not at all like this owner.

From start to finish our visit to this gite situated in the heart of historic Port St Goustan, Auray was perfect in every way. Communications with the owner, Valerie Rouffineau, were fantastic from the initial booking through to our arrival and departure. Valerie couldn't have been more helpful.
The gite itself was immaculately clean and well presented. It has a with a superb, recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom, comfortable beds and everything you could need from free Wifi and washing machine down to a potato peeler - nothing has been overlooked.
There is on street parking for smaller cars directly outside the gite if spaces are available. For those with larger vehicles there is a purpose built parking area just five minutes walk away.
Auray offers all the facilities of a busy French market town with the addition of beautiful vistas of the River Auray and Port St Goustan. There are great coastal walks (GR34) following the river down to Le Bono, well worth a visit to see their recently refurbished suspension bridge. Boat trips are available from Port St Goustan, or just soak up the atmosphere in one of creperies, bars or restaurants overlooking the old harbour.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this gite to anyone as a great base to explore Auray and Morbihan in general and hope to return at some point in the future.

This is a really lovely house. The pictures do not do it justice. It is extremely clean and very well equipped. There is absolutely everything you need. The main bedroom was really nice with exposed beams and a stone wall with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom is nice with a big walk in shower that was very powerful. It is possible to park at the house and it takes only a minute to walk to the port and 5 minutes up into Auray. Such a lovely area. I would highly recommend this house and the area.
