Location, location, location. This villa was perfectly situated. We saw dozens of people stop directly outside of the villa to take their perfect selfy, the location was so picturesque. The pool was everything to help beat the heat of the afternoons. We travelled with a 2 year old and were easily able to accommodate her. The service from Maria was fantastic, from arranging our airport transfer to our car rental. There are two outdoor shaded areas, so we enjoying the upper deck in the mornings and the lower patio in the afternoon. Everything was very close by, but we never felt the crush of people that was experienced just 5 minutes away. We absolutely recommend!

This property is in a great convenient spot with terrific views from the upstairs room and balcony.the downstairs rooms have a partial side view. The upstairs area is the hero of the property. Unfortunately it is up a very steep set of stairs( a ladder really). My husband and I found it very difficult to get up there,so my daughter ended up getting the best space. The pool was great at the end of a busy day. Maria the property manager was very helpful and she made our transfer and tour bookings for us.

We had an overall good experience. Loved the location. Surprsised with ladder to second bedroom. Challenge for older folks but we managed. Had some transportation issues. Would definitely recommend but double check all your transfers. We almost missed our ferry and it was stressful. Great sunset views. Would stay again but would do our transfers differently. Great upstairs patio and views.

I would like to start by saying that overall, we loved our stay here at Villa Dakoronia. Valentini (property manager) was awesome! From the time we landed in Santorini to the time we left, she was there every step of the way. She arranged transportation to and from the airport, welcomed us at the property, was attentive to our needs, and made us feel right at home. The views were breathtaking and the location was prime…so much so that those passing by couldn’t resist a picture or two. There are two outdoor areas to relax with a drink after a long day of exploring…one poolside and the other on the upper deck…both with views of the Aegean Sea and the village of Fira. The villa is within walking distance of great food, shopping, and nightlife. My only gripes about the property was getting to the upstairs bedroom and upper deck (steep ladder-like stairs that would not be ideal for those traveling with small children or the elderly) and some minor maintenance/cosmetic repairs that could be done to interior to update the property. But lets face it, you aren’t traveling to Santorini to stay inside your villa all day and when I come back to visit, I will definitely book this property again.
Thanks for the memories and I look forward to returning soon!

Cute little villa with a great view and lovely dipping pool. Kitchen was just right for making breakfast and snacks. Beds are comfortable and bedrooms are air-conditioned. The location is perfect to enjoy all the Fira has to offer. The property manager was extremely helpful in getting a car service to/from Airport and booking a catamaran cruise one day for us. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Highly recommend the location - right on the Caldera, gorgeous views, walking distance to restaurants and shops, while quiet and safe. Perfect home for family of 4. Deck, patio, and private pool. Extremely attentive and responsive property manager; she helped book transportation, sunset sail and even got our daughter a birthday cake!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Dakoronia at the end of July. We rented this Villa for my immediate family, and we were traveling with extended family that rented out the Villa immediately next door. Both were absolutely wonderful.
The location was perfect. Very easy walk to many great restaurants and shops - but also not in the middle of all of crowds. The view was stunning, and the plunge pool was perfect to cool off in, and for our kids to enjoy. Valentini was a pleasure to work with, and offered to book any reservations or excursions we wanted.
Just a note, the upstairs bedroom is accessible by a very steep staircase (almost like ladder), so just be mindful of this when you rent and who you have stay up there. We had our kids stay downstairs and we stayed upstairs (even though bedroom is smaller). But, the view from the 2nd floor of this villa is absolutely amazing - so well worth it!
We loved our stay at this villa and would highly recommend.

Pictures don’t do this beautiful property the justice it deserves. Every room has a breathtaking view of the caldera and then to top it off, you have three huge living spaces. There’s a spectacular balcony off the third floor master perfect for a morning coffee or to lay down with a good book. Then you have a large and wonderfully decorated kitchen and living room. To top off the mind blowing downstairs patio with private pool and lounge options. This is the perfect place for both families and friends looking to getaway. You’re steps away from all of the restaurants, shops and entertainment Fira has to offer. And yet, nights were completely peaceful. No noises keeping us awake. After exploring the island all day and late into the evenings enjoying the amazing cuisine we were able to all sleep like babies in the comfortable beds. We took advantage of the full kitchen to stock up on stacks and drinks which was great for easy accessibility when they were needed out by the pool. But many of you may have already seen a great deal of this information from the photos you’ve inspected online. You’re probably wondering what you don’t see right? Here it is, the secret. The true gem of this property (almost as shining as the unit itself) is the staff who takes care of it. From before you even arrive you’re assigned a concierge who helps walk you through everything you might need to know about Villa Dakoronia and things you didn’t even think to ask. Valentini is one of a kind. She’s a friend you didn’t know you had but are so grateful to have finally met. She single-handedly saved us during our trip when we needed help with something. She will take care of reservations and excursions like cruises. Valentini has cultivated contacts all over the island and you can count on her advice. She won’t steer you wrong. Only the best. Then there’s the beautiful and always smiling Anna who helped clean our unit. She lives downstairs which was a real comfort whenever we had an quick question or just wanted an extra beach towel. When we left ours out accidentally one night we woke up to new ones perfectly placed on our lounge chairs the next morning. I mean, the customer service is beyond expectation. This was my second time returning to Santorini and I don’t regret making the same choice I did the first time. As I said in the title of this review, there’s nowhere else I’d ever want to stay. Thank you so much. I can’t wait for our next stay and to see you all again soon!

Valentini is the manager and was available for all questions and any assistance needed. She was at the ready for amazing referrals and planning wine tours and transportation. Just the kindest

Villa Dakoronia is an amazing place to stay in Fira on Santorini. Seated right on pathway at the top of the cliff overlooking the caldera, the location is perfect and the views are absolutely amazing - some of the most beautiful we've ever seen. We've all been to places that don't live up to the pictures in the postcards, but this is not the case here - the reality is better than any photo could be. Valentini was a very nice person and highly useful, and met us upon arrival and gave a full rundown of the villa and the island. She is useful in setting up excursions if you like, but is not pushy about it. The villa itself if very well taken care of, which is facilitated by the fact that the housekeeper has a small apartment right below the villa. The pool is small but very useful and our kids loved playing in it. If you decide to eat in, it's hard to decide where to sit, as there are two tables outside near the pool (one in shade, one upon to the sun), one inside in the dining/living room, and then even more seating on the upstairs deck. When we come back to Fira we'll definitely look to stay at Villa Dakoronia again.
While we didn't have any issues with the villa and really loved our stay here, we thought we'd share a few words of wisdom about our overall experience at Santorini to help others prepare. First, like all the Cyclade islands we visited, the roads are small, cramped and crammed full of scooters and ATVs and parking is very difficult to come by. Don't rent a car or other form of transportation unless you are an experienced driver/rider and used to very tight and chaotic locations. We had Valentini set up van transfers for us anywhere we wanted to go, and that worked well. Second, the van that brings you to the villa stops at the end of an alley about 100m away from the villa, and you then descend two sets of stairways down to the entrance. A porter meets you and carries your bags for you, so have some money ready for a nice tip. Third, this is not a place for those with mobility issues, both due to the many steps and pathways around the island, and the steep stairs to the upstairs bedroom and deck in the villa. Fourth, bring good water shoes as many of the beaches in Santorini have pebbles or black sand. Fifth, watch out for all of the cruise ship tourists. The villa is about a block from the cable car entrance where the people on the ship arrive/leave and it can get quite crowded at peak times.
Highly recommend Villa Dakoronia!

The views were great and it is walking distance to The bazaar and restaurants. We didn’t even get a rental car and just used Santorini Transfer to get around if we needed to. Valentini was a wonderful host as well .

We had the most amazing stay thanks to this wonderful villa right on the caldera in Fira. It was a perfect location to be while exploring the island. We loved coming home to the pool and view whenever we were too hot.
The hosts were gracious with arranging airport transfer and then the transporting of luggage. The villa is just as pictured, a wonderful accommodation inside and out. The view is spectacular, bedrooms are comfortable, the rooftop deck is spacious and enjoyable.
We would highly recommend this villa.

From beginning to end, our host exceeded our expectations. We followed many of their recommendations which were always awesome, then came hope to a refreshing dip in the pool and wine overlooking the caldera. By far our best vacation in the perfect spot ❤️

So let me start out by saying that my review of this Villa is LONG over due as I was there last summer. Though I figured it's better late than never. I'm going to keep it short and sweet. The house was great in every way, great location, ample space for me and my three other girlfriends, close to many restaurant, bars, and shops. Getting to the house itself is a bit of a challange due to the steps you have to go down from the parking lot but it's well worth it.Now let me get to what made our trip amazing. MEMOS AND HIS WIFE! Memos met us at the ferry to pick us up and drove us to the house. He did warn us about the steps we would encounter prior to arriving but we had no clue what we were in store for. He was so nice though and helped the smallest person in our group, carrying her luggage for her. When we arrived, we arrived to a freshly baked banana bread by Johanna (I can still smell it now) and a bottle of wine. Johanna also had some snacks and a welcome drink ready so we could toast to our vacation. We wanted to tour the city and asked Memos how was the best way to go about it and he said with him. Who was we to argue. The next day we had a full day touring the island with him. He took us to several beaches, churches, historical sites, lunch at a restaurant in which he insisted on doing the ordering in which I'm glad he did as the food was amazing, and to top it off wine tasting on the way back to the villa. The attention that we received and the knowledge he had about the island was impeccable. On our last night there we wanted to eat a nice restaurant with a nice view. Memos told us he would handle it. When we arrived back to the villa from doing our own exploring, there was a note on the table with our reservation information listed on it. He really did take care of it! Now to top off how amazing he was. We as 4 females were dreading the trek back up those steps to the parking lot with our luggage. We are 4 females, touring Greece and Barcelona for two weeks, you can imagine how much luggage we had. Memos said don't worry about it, pack your luggage and leave it by the door and I'll take care of it overnight for you. When we woke up, our luggage was already in his car and waiting for us. All of it! I was so sad to leave Santorini. The city and the hospitality was beyond five stars!I just read in a most recent review that as of last month Memos and Johanna are no longer the managers. I'm glad I was able to meet them

I booked this villa based on the location and amenities, but also based on the excellent reviews of the personal service by the owners. The villa was as listed, but the experience was not quite what I had expected based on the reviews. Joanna and Memos no longer live on site nor do they personally manage the property. We were told upon arrival that as of the first of October, it is now being managed by a rental management agency. Unfortunately, we were one of their first clients and they hadn't quite mastered the learning curve. We arrived after dark and were met at the airport by a van transport service which dropped us off at the closest parking area to the villa. From there we had to wrestle our own luggage down a steep, winding, dark, broken cobblestone path to the villa, being led by a management member who gave us only her first name and phone number should we need further assistance. The internet didn't work, and after several attempted calls to the phone number provided and an email to the owners, someone came out to change out the repeater, which helped only marginally. Internet service was unreliable at best. The pool was not heated, but after the first 2 days, that problem was solved. Hopefully the service provided by the rental agency will improve.Having said that, we really enjoyed the villa. The location and views of the caldera were unsurpassed, especially at sunset. It far enough away from Fira to be quiet, but close enough to easily walk into town, which we did daily. The cable car and several really good restaurants were within easy walking distance. We never rented a car and didn't feel that we needed one, as we could walk wherever we wanted to go. We had hoped to enlist Memos for an island tour, but instead took and island tour with Dimitris at Ocean Wave Tours. He was great and I highly recommend him. The upper and lower level outdoor spaces at the villa were amazing, and we really enjoyed the pool. The beds were comfortable, and the villa was clean and well stocked (with daily cleaning service). Upon leaving, we were provided with someone to carry our luggage to the transport van for our return trip to the airport. We had a great trip, but it wasn't quite the experience I had expected. There are 2 flights of stairs to access the first and second floor, so if your are mobility impaired it might be an issue.

We loved our visit. Villa was modern, very clean and convenient to restaurants and shopping. Joanna was a great hostess. Gave us a lovely parting gift that was very unexpected. Thank you for making our visit so nice.
