This was an upgrade after we were relocated since our original reservations were canceled due to maintenance issues. Communication through vacasa was helpful in relocating us to this cabin. It had all the amenities you need for a week’s stay, comfy beds, & all working kitchen appliances, enough room in living space and dining area. Tv was good but a bit slow while trying to play something on wifi, also they had board games inside the cabinets in front of the dining room table. We did not use laundry amenities. Location was perfect. Its a short drive to great restaurants and grocery stores. Some downsides though: there is an awful humid smell when you walk in. It could be possible that it’s due to wood structure and how old the cabin is. It didn’t bother us much since we were out most of the day, but it did wake me from time to time throughout the night. Also, we experienced multiple mini shocks throughout the house when turning on lights switches, just be cautious of that. Unfortunately we didn’t get that small cabin feeling since our original cabin was canceled, but this cabin still felt warm and welcoming.

This property is in a quiet neighborhood. It is comfortable and has a homey feel. We were there 2 years ago also and we would
stay there again.

We enjoyed our time searching for a Christmas tree nearby!! To be able to go back to the cabin for hot chocolate, a puzzle, warm fire and movie was priceless. Thankful for our ability to retreat away locally. Kind hosts, moderate updates needed. We didn’t bring our dogs but liked the option to if we had! Closer to neighbors than expected

When you there are flat pillows on the couch, chairs, and beds, it is very clear indicator of how the place is managed and what is given priority: money or quality of service to the client. The pillows at this place were horrible. It was like sleeping with your head on cardboard. We ended up bringing in the pillows from the vehicle we travel with because of my physical disability.
Plus, there was a very high bed with steps on either side. This wasn't functional for me given my disability that limits mobility. This high bed wasn't listed in the description. We ended up switching bedrooms in the middle of the night. My wife woke up with a splitting headache that pretty much set the tone for the rest of our trip - thanks for that...!
There were absolutely no instructions on how to "use the cabin" and we spent 10 minutes trying to get the doors locked when we left for our day of excursions.
When I booked the room, I told them I had a disability and would be traveling with a qualified service dog; yet they said nothing about the bed, and I was still charged a $49 "service fee" that was described as a cleaning charge since I had a dog. I didn't think cleaning charges were applied for service dogs? Yet, there has been no credit applied back to my account.
The pillows are just one example of how this place needs a serious update and a move on the scale of what is important.

Overall we had a great time and thanks for that!
Two items you might want to address:
The window blinds next to the dining table do not work. They are missing the cord that allows you to pull them up/down. Also, the screens on both doors need to be repaired. We found them torn and taped but falling off.
Thanks.

The cabin has some charm, but the window treatments are terrible, and you won't be able to open the windows, easily. The lock box didn't open, for key retrieval, and the push button front door lock was horrible: Great fun pushing buttons that don't register. Getting in and locking up when you leave is a five minute hassle. Most windows have plastic panels on them, so very little airflow is possible. We kept the doors open, and the floor fans running, continuously. Kitchen was great, with great appliances. Stove, however, had no exhaust fan. I cook a good deal, so.....bummer. Bathroom was good, excellent water pressure. Overall, a 4-Star property in a rustic looking neighborhood. Rustic, in a good way.

This is our second time staying at the Big Bear Cabin and it didn’t disappoint. Location is perfect, close to many popular spots. Town is awesome. Met fabulous Woodland Park residents. Look forward to returning!

Wonderful cabin. Great location. Really, really poor management company. I emailed the company pryor to leaving for our trip asking a question, sent it twice before leaving. 3 weeks later after the trip, I'm still waiting for a response. After arriving at the cabin from a 10+ hour drive, my wife and I spent 30 minutes trying to open the main door. The instructions are woefully cryptic. Finally, the only reason I'm writing this review, (if you dont have anything good to say, dont say it, type of person).... I'm tired of the follow up emails asking for a review. So here you are.

It was a beautiful cozy cabin and a beautiful small town in the mountains. Loved everything about it. Thank you!

This place was an "upgrade" because our other cabin was out of natural gas. We were already on the road with bad phone signal so we agreed to stay here for no extra cost to us. The location is amazing, right off the main strip of Woodland Park. But I would not stay here again. We never felt that "cute cabin" feel. The water pressure is almost non existent. And the mattress was horribly uncomfortable. I have no clue how this cabin was an upgrade over our previously booked cabin.

We loved the neighborhood and quaint older home. Does need some work. The washer and dryer were a real challenge, not working properly.

Just like the first, our family's second time staying at the Big Bear Cabin was a charm. This pet-friendly cabin is perfect for our three dogs. People walked their dogs along the road in front of the cabin, and we saw deer at various times of the day. The cabin is only a 15-minute drive to Manitou Springs, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Old Colorado City and other places we love to visit. The cabin is clean, attractive and comfortable. We found only two very minor issues in the cabin, and they were resolved promptly by calling the Vacasa help line. The water heater provided enough hot water for four adults to take showers one after another. And we found great movies and series on the streaming channels. We've enjoyed staying at this cabin twice, and we're sure the third time will be a charm as well.

Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Comfy chairs and beds. Nice size bath, laundry and front porch. However, if the standard is to not have A/C and open windows to provide cross breeze/cool down in the evening you need to be able to open the windows! Only 2 windows had screens, the rest had un-openable storm windows. One BR had a small window fan, that didn't work. The windows that DID have screens were impossible to open because of the blinds or furniture that blocked the windows from opening into the cabin.
The bathroom was very nice, seeming to have been redone recently. Some of the appliances could use an upgrade. A number of the buttons on the microwave didn't work (like the cancel button) and the washer and dryer have some complicated instructions and missing knobs.
There was a screw poking through the screen door that scratched our daughter. I used some duct tape to cover up the sharp point, but the screen was ripped and I didn't feel comfortable using that much tape where it would be easily seen.
They did provide 2 large fans, but none of the plugs were close enough to put the fans near the doorway to pull in the cooler air. A couple extension cords would have helped. However that wouldn't completely solve the air flow problem because who would leave their doors open all night?!
There are many cute bear accents throughout the cabin and we didn't find ourselves lacking in any kitchen accessories. The shower curtain holders were accented with bears and moose and while cute, would routinely fall off the rod whenever you moved the curtain. A minor annoyance but who wants an added annoyance while on vacation? Our family/children do enough of that already!

Extremely clean, including the kitchen and refrigerator. Amenities include dishwasher, washer and dryer, kitchen supplies, internet, and streaming tv. The bed was comfortable with a foam topper. Several clean towels were provided in the bathroom.

Wonderful place
It was a great little get-away for us. The cabin was everything we expected based on the photos we saw prior to booking.
The only criticism was with the Microwave. It was operable but the functionality was severely limited. Only a few buttons actually work. To reset it you had to unplug it.
Other than that all was good.

ALMOST PERFECT
i loved this place once I was able to get to it. No lights out in the wilderness at all not evena light on out front so very hard too see anything. Other than that one complaint the place was awesome! Great views, good amenities for use!

We rented this cabin Thanksgiving week, 2021, to visit with relatives. The cabin was neat and clean and had all the amenities we needed...Kitchen was well stocked, including a crockpot. Furniture in the cabin was comfortable. The cabin was in a good location, with just a short drive to downtown Woodland Park and grocery store. We saw deer in the yard several times. The only negative had nothing to do with the cabin itself, but there were several dogs without leashes, who came in the yard and two of them lunged at our dog, who was on a leash.
This cabin surely deserves 5 stars...from the moment we rented it, we were kept informed of everything we needed to know, and they sent the entry code the day we got there.
My husband and I would definitely recommend the Big Bear Cabin in Woodland Park.

Nice getaway close to town
We really liked this cabin! Cozy and cute, easy to find, and walking distance to the Donut Mill! It is very close to the other cabin onsite, and the person staying in that cabin accidentally came to ours which caused some awkward confusion.

A perfect pet-friendly cabin
In addition to being very clean, comfortable and homey, Big Bear Cabin is a very pet-friendly place to stay. We appreciated the streaming channels offered here. We enjoyed walking our dogs and meeting other people walking their dogs along the street. We saw a deer with her fawn roaming through the yard and neighborhood almost every day. We had absolutely no problems and would like to return sometime for a longer vacation. Lots of fun things to see in the area. Some that we saw were Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, the cliff dwellings and we especially loved shopping and walking around Manitou Springs. Lots of great restaurants too. We had an excellent stay!

Nice cabin near town
The location of the cabin is perfect for walking into town for the many restaurants and activities! The house was clean except for a foul smell coming from the garbage disposal. The covered front porch was a lovely place to sit and have coffee in the morning or a glass of wine before dinner. The furniture was comfortable and the beds were also very comfortable. I would stay here again and it would be handy if our family with a baby could stay in the house on the same property just behind this house.

Big Bear cabin was great. A little difficult sharing one bathroom with teenagers, but we managed. The only thing is that Colorado had unusually hot temperatures during our stay. We know most places do not have air conditioning, but with temperatures in the 90’s, a fan for the living room would have helped.
We had deer in our yard every evening and a cool black squirrel. Our grandchildren have never been to the mountains and they really enjoyed our trip. I’m happy we chose big bear cabin for our stay.

Nice older cabin. Good appliances and bathrooms. Heater not adjustable, stays at 65 all the time. At night sounds like a freight train when goes on next to the bedroom where we stayed.

Great Spot!
The home was cozy and perfectly fit what we were looking for. It was a great space that felt like a getaway, while still being close to amenities. The one thing that was pretty off-putting was there is another (occupied) home on the property, 2 feet from the rental house. We were expecting a little more privacy than that given that we were renting a home and didn't see any mention of this in the listing. It didn't end up affecting our trip at all, but something to be aware of if you're looking to book for your next getaway.

Rustic comfort
The cabin was very nice. A little older but very well kept. Comfortable beds and furnishings; all amenities for a pleasant stay. The surrounding neighborhood was very nice, not to close to the high traffic areas. Couldn’t connect to the WiFi, but since we had great data signal it wasn’t a deal breaker, because of our schedule it wasn’t really an issue. Price was very affordable, would stay there again.

Wonderful location and perfect for a getaway! The porches in the morning and evening are relaxing! The people are very friendly in the area!
