The breakfast was excellent and the location was great. Ann was awesome.
The bathroom was way to small.

Everything was wonderful, especially Andrew the host who was the best. We were very comfortable and the house was exeptional, especially the art and front porch. Location is right in town.
It is very expensive!

The Inn Keeper was the high light of our stay. She gave us all the Information we needed about our stay and the area. She set up refreshments all day and afternoon and made us feel very welcome. The Inn itself is in a perfect location near the town center, the Bar Harbor shops and Restaurants, and Acadia National Park.

Andrew and Lane were wonderful, helpful hosts and very knowledgeable about Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Thornhedge was a fantastic base for our first trip to Bar Harbor, comfortable, convenient, and a lovely historic inn. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful old home, excellent location, within walking distance of shops and restaurants, and only minutes from Acadia National Park. Andy and his staff were very welcoming. He was a wealth of knowledge about the area. Rooms were very clean, bed comfortable, and breakfasts were delicious.

Location was excellent.
The owner was friendly and welcoming.
Arrived on a warm day. Discovered in the middle of the night that the room’s AC filter was very clogged. The weather turned cool after that so it was no longer an issue.
The room’s seating was old wicker furniture that was extremely uncomfortable.

Breakfast, no room service going through your room, nice house, and off-street parking. Very close to town and the supermarket. No need to drive for either. The host was great and very helpful with itinerary. There was also a cute house dog (not the guests) who would greet you in the main rooms.
I also loved chatting with the other house guests over breakfast. Really made the trip feel more like home.
Nothing really. I'm pretty low maintenance so everything was good. I guess for the room itself only issue was the floor next to the shower had a little water damage from water leaking from the shower. I placed a towel over that spot but I only had it leak once. The other two days it didn't happen. I informed the host so not sure if it's a real issue. Seemed random to only occur once.

We stayed in Room #7 and unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable/noisy and the water pressure quite weak.

We enjoyed the porch and different places to gather and eat. Location was great and we walked everywhere. Enjoyed interacting with the owner and other people staying there.
Wasn’t crazy about the period furniture and wall paper. We were disappointed that there was not a sit down breakfast or wine in the evening. But breakfast was tasty in carry away bag. And Covid is to blame. Also was not aware that we would be on the 3rd floor. I bumped my head a few times on the ceiling in the bathroom

Nice location, very clean, free parking, walking distance to shopping and dining.
I know Covid has a lot to do with it, but I feel for the price we paid for a B&B, we could have paid at a hotel, not a lot of “extras”.

Great hospitality, Aaron was very helpful in pointing out great places to eat. Great location to walk around town. Very friendly atmosphere and relaxing.
The water pressure - not sure if it was just our room show or the buildings water pressure. The bathroom were very clean, I Just like more water pressure when taking a shower.

Close to activities, breakfast was great, very homey.
Just a small Keurig for coffee in the room would be great for early risers in the morning.

We brought our friends from out of town, to show them how beautiful Bar Harbor is, and that did not disappoint. The room they were in was beautiful, and I’m thankful they got that one. Breakfast was delightful, and Andrew was pleasant.
Our room was outdated, the carpet was dingy, it didn’t smell great, and the bathroom was filthy. Normally, I’m not super picky, but their was hair and some sort of brown, sticky substance on the baseboards.

We enjoyed our stay at Thornhedge greatly. Check-in was very easy and we felt welcomed (by the front desk person and Benjamin the dog alike) and able to ask any questions/get settled in. We were shown to our room up 2 flights of stairs (take note if you have accessibility needs). Our room was very cute with an appropriate amount of space, storage, seating, etc. The bathroom had a cute vanity spot, only thing was shower was a bit tiny but got the job done. Our room had a TV and book selection, as with any older space there were not many outlets. The location of the inn was AWESOME! Walkable to downtown, entrance to acadia ~5 min away, and never had any problems with parking.

The room and the architecture of the home was beautiful and close to town.
I wish it wasn't a grab and go breakfast but I guess they are still in pandemic protocol.

This property is a gorgeous old manor home that was built for the wealthy summer vacationers back in the day and when one steps into it one is immediately charmed by the beauty of the architecture especially the beautiful windows. Our room was extremely spacious and the owners had installed extra electric baseboard heating units in the main room and the bathroom so on the occasion of very cold weather one could turn these on and have a very cozy environment. The staff that I came across (3 people) were extremely nice and welcoming. Also, the owners have filled the house with many interesting artifacts and relics from the 'good old days', which was fun to look at and added to the charm. There is a lot of big old furniture in the home which add to the sense that one has stepped back in time. The location is FABULOUS! You can walk to anything because you are right in the downtown area where parking is very difficult to procure so that is a real plus. The bed was comfortable enough and if I kept the windows closed it was not noisy. I was visiting in mid October so the traffic and outdoor life was pretty much gone by 10 pm. Just FYI, the Inn is on a main street going into town but traffic does not zoom by and at this time of year really wasn't an issue. Also, one of the best features of the home is the big wide porch you can sit on when the weather is nice but it was too cold during my visit to enjoy this feature.
Well folks, this is Covid-19 times so what was once a really nice breakfast in the dining room was now a pick up and bring to your room breakfast - not the owners fault but a necessity to keeping us all healthy. However, I was surprised to get the same menu on the second night when we chose our breakfast for the morning. I think there could have been a little more effort into providing a more creative menu for people but that said, they did add freshly cooked 'out of the box' muffins. The coffee was piping hot and there was juice as well. Our room had seating area with a small end table but no coffee table which was a little awkward when wanting to put books, drinks or food down. Also, it would have been nice to have a kettle/coffee maker in the room so we would have been able to make tea/coffee in our rooms during the hours when the kitchen was not open. The lighting in the room was just okay. Though I paid more for this room for the level of comfort it provided (both visually and physically) the location could not have been better. Overall, this is a gracious old home that is needing some TLC (tender loving care), an artistic eye to bring the room adornments into a clear artistic expression and a little brightening up; she is looking like a woman that has hit her 70s and has decided not to buy new clothes and what little makeup she might have had is not quite applied correctly. Would I go back? Yes, especially for the breakfast served in the beautiful dining room and the pleasant accommodating staff.
