Coyote Canyon Retreat is a wonderful home so close to Joshua Tree National Park. The home is bright and airy, super comfortable, and had everything we needed. The property is great, with many different cacti, trees, wildlife, and a spacious patio with seating for lots of guests.
SO quiet!

We had 63 days at this little piece of paradise. The house is situated at the end of a dirt road. We often saw coyote, rabbits, quails, and a variety of other birds. The house had all the comforts we needed with a well stocked kitchen, a comfortable bed, and there were plenty of towels and blankets. We appreciated having trails within a short walk from the house. We did not use the hot tub but we did use the outdoor shower for a morning cold shower (better than coffee to wake up!). The hosts were always responsive and helpful. We would definitely use this accommodation in the future on our return to Joshua Tree.

Just as advertised. Owner was very responsive with questions. Cute place off the beaten path. We saw a pack of coyote every morning on their daily routine through the yard.

Our stay at Coyote Creek has been amazing. Pam and Roy have been brilliant throughout, communicating with us and providing us with details plus being on hand and approachable during our stay. Check in and out was easy.
The retreat is a very special place, in it's own peaceful and secluded corner of Joshua Tree. We loved spending time outside with so many breathtaking views to see - seeing the sun rise and set on the patio and star gazing with a meteor shower in the spa were amazing experiences! There was plenty of wildlife watching to be done aswell.
The home itself is lovely and has everything we needed, instructions on using appliances were very kindly left by Pam and Roy. We were able to cook meals and wash some clothes. When indoors we loved looking at the record collection and playing a few - soul food for any music lover!
Our amazing stay will live long in the memory and we only have good things to say. We will recommend Coyote Creek to our UK friends and are sure that anyone who stays will feel as lucky as we do to have spent time in such a special place.
Thank you so much Pam and Roy!

We enjoyed our time at the Coyote Creek! The location, so close to the park was perfect and the views from the windows exceptional. We enjoyed the hot tub after a few hikes and the view of the stars from the tub was incredible. We also enjoyed listening to many of the vinyl records from the vast collection. The sleeper sofa was also very comfortable. We loved having the gas grill available and the variety of spices and condiments made cooking much tastier. The large yard looks beautiful but unfortunately it was too cold and snowy to enjoy it. We did see 2 coyotes cross the yard. We loved all the instructions available to make everything work. Roy and Pam are excellent hosts! They are friendly and just want your stay to be the best. They were very helpful and quick to answer our questions. We really enjoyed our stay.

Coyote creek is exactly as advertised. Communication with the owners was stellar. We go to Joshua Tree National Park usually about 4-5 times per year. First time staying in Coyote Creek. We loved it! 10 minutes to the park entrance - we spent all day in the park, then home in the late afternoon to relax, cook dinner and listen to records and read. Liked leaving our regular life behind and just enjoy coffee in the morning, back to the park and repeat. Perfect for us. Has everything we needed inside and happy to see the roadrunners around outside. Would love to stay again. Thank you!

Easy to follow check in instructions and great communication from Roy and Pam. We loved the house, all the different, fun places to sit and the vinyls! Far enough away from Joshua Tree town to see the stars but close enough for convenience. We hope to return some day!

My 17 year old daughter and I stayed here recently for a couple nights to tour Joshua Tree National Park and the area. Had a great time. The house was very nice and clean. They even had some extras there including a cooler and outdoor chairs that came in handy during our explorations. Perfect location to see the stars, although we also went into the park after dark one night which was awesome. Location was very convenient to both the park and town for restaurants.
I chose this property specifically because of the record player and album collection. May sound strange, but my daughter loves records and we are both music enthusiasts, so it was a cool addition to our trip.
Only complaint was the Be Aware Of Rattle Snakes sign on the front porch. My daughter is petrified of snakes, so the validation that there are snakes in the area made it tough to get her to hike or spend much time outdoors. LOL (not really a complaint...I was glad for the information - she was not)

Great base for visiting Joshua Tree
This home was located in a neighborhood but felt very isolated (in a good way!). It was quiet, and at night very dark--excellent for star-gazing. It was very convenient to Joshua Tree National Park--just minutes away. Our hosts were very responsive with the couple of questions we had, and we found everything we needed in the home. They even had ice packs in the freezer that we could use during the day in our makeshift cooler. The home is not new or fancy but it suited our needs well. A quirky plus was the loads of vintage albums, many from the '70s, which we loved.

Great property in fantastic proximity to Joshua Tree National Park. Kitchen is very well stocked, toiletries provided, incredible album collection, gas grill, and hot tub is amazing! Just show up with your clothes!
Owners have great communication and this was the easiest check out of any VRBO experience we have ever had!
Highly recommend!

Rural Setting, Great Location
This rental is wonderful. It is well stocked with kitchen needs, games, DVDs, etc. The hot tub was a great place to star gaze on a cold winter night. The morning and evening wildlife viewing was entertaining. We saw quail, jack rabbits, bunny rabbits and coyotes (they are shy and didn’t come too close) right from the property.
The location feels rural. You can see houses, but they are far enough away to give privacy. It is quiet and serene. However, there are restaurants, grocery stores and attractions nearby. Joshua Tree National Park was our main destination. The entrance was just a few miles down the road, so it was perfect for us.
The owners were attentive and helpful. We recommend this property and hope you have as good a time as we did.

nextdoor to Joshua Tree
The whole family (ages 6-42) had a wonderful time! Property was neat, comfortable, super fun (spa, board games, records, movies), and just down the street from Joshua Tree National Park. Hosts were very responsive to our questions. Thank for the great experience! We'll be back for sure!

Wonderful JTree Retreat
Pam and Roy are outstanding hosts! Their JTree retreat house is the perfect get away for two who enjoy a quiet, desert setting, star gazing, morning quail cooing in the yard, the occasional coyote, owl, and wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Our go to JTree Retreat.

Fantastic relaxing location
Absolutely gorgeous location. The owners dedication to the property and the environment is obvious. We spent the entire time on the front patio watching the birds and critters during the morning and watching the stars at night. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Magnificent retreat in rugged desert
This property was just what we needed to unplug from the world and reconnect with one another. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and Coyote Retreat fit the bill nicely. Comfy bed, secluded hot tub, well appointed kitchen, Staters grocery had yummy meats, and everything else. I suggest Wine & Rocks for a better wine selection and helpful staff. Handy for hiking - great guide books to plan out your days. Spectacular sunrises from the front porch. It’s worth setting an alarm for! Lots of wildlife - the birds will remind you there is food for them - especially the hummingbirds! Wonderful record collection. So easy to reach owners with any questions. All linens and soaps supplied, which was handy as we came in from NJ. Would love to visit again.

Wonderful Spot to Relax
We loved our stay in Joshua Tree. The yard was full of birds, bunnies and an occasional coyote. Neighborhood was quiet. Loved sitting in the hot tub at night star gazing and the outdoor shower was AMAZING! A/C worked great after returning from hikes. Bed was comfortable.
Things to do:
Definitely recommend Joshua Tree National Park, we enjoyed Skull Rock Trail.
Pappy and Harriet’s at PioneerTown-the chili nachos were killer!
PSAir Boozy Brunch in Palm Springs-speakeasy show.

Amazing Home in the Sun
Excellent owner that consistently communicated with us to answer questions and make sure all of our needs were met. Beautiful sunrise and sunset views everyday so there was no need to travel into the deserts to view the best parts of the day. The hot tub worked great to relax those tired legs and sore feet from hiking. The outdoor shower was the only one we used as it very cool to be staring at the mountains while taking a shower outside. The entertainment system is awesome with quite a collection of movies and vinyl LPs to play plus Bluetooth with Wi-FI. There are lots of outdoor games too.
The kitchen was well equipped with high quality cookware and knives incase you like cooking in like we did! Great place!

Another wonderful stay
This was our first trip since 2019 and we had to come back to Coyote Retreat. Best sunset and sunrise in Joshua Tree. I could spend my entire time on the front porch watching the rabbits, quail, roadrunners, hummingbirds and coyotes. Perfect House for a couple or small family.

Wonderful front porch with great view to enjoy wildlife, cacti, and the hills beyond--perfect for relaxing with wine at the end of the day or with coffee in the morning. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. It's perfect for two or three adults. Six would be a squeeze. Nice vinyl collection and sound system.
