About this cabin rental
A very unique place in Mendoza.
The villa (with its own bathroom) sleeps one couple in a queen bed and 3 more in bunk beds. An additional couple in a detached studio flat, separated from the main cabin by around 150feet (fully equipped queen-size bed)
Private pool with barbecue and restroom. Artificial lake. Also a separate extensive barbecue section. The land has a security gate and is fenced on all sides, for security purposes. A football/soccer field is available. WiFi internet (100MB)
FAQs: - Do we need a car? Answer: Yes definitely
It is important to point out that the whole property is rented to just one group at a time. This assures full enjoyment of all the wonderful facilities in total privacy. The Fauna at Quinta Anabtawi is very varied and very enjoyable!
Quinta Anabtawi is not a B&B, it's your OWN private resort. There is no staff to attend to you. Yours truly, Riyad (Owner/Manager), does not live on the premises either, although I'm only 10 minutes and a phone call away. I will receive you with an open heart and make sure that your first day goes without a hitch. Then I leave you to enjoy the Quinta in complete privacy. I can very easily be contacted by e-mail or by cell phone. There is no gardener either while you are there. Gardening is performed while you are away visiting the many close-by wineries and sightseeing. I strive very hard to ensure your stay is as comfortable and private as possible.
During your stay, I highly recommend booking a Riyad Argentinian BBQ Extravaganza: The best Argentine meat -- grilled the right way-- the Argentine way, hosted by yours truly. I propose this because you will never get the same experience in a restaurant. Most restaurants pre-cook the meat and only heat it up for serving. With a Riyad Extravaganza BBQ, you will experience a typical homemade Argentinian BBQ. After all, if you've been in Argentina and haven't had a typical Argentinian BBQ, you haven't been in Argentina.
Please also note that a car is a must. You need a car to be able to move around.

Very Relaxing
Having recently retired, my husband and I were looking forward to a quiet and relaxing three weeks in Argentina. La Quinta didn't disappoint. It was very comfortable and, even though it was winter in Lujan de Cuyo, very beautiful. I would recommend that you give this beautiful place a second look.
Many thanks to Riyhad for an amazing respite.

Quinta was the perfect place to spend our last three nights in Argentina! Riyad was a wonderful host and we enjoyed the barbeque very much! This is a very unusual property with room to spread out. We traveled as two couples and enjoyed having separate quarters. The beautiful landscaped property was fun to wander around. We enjoyed the full moon and starry nights. I would rather stay here than the Hilton any day! Riyad was a very gracious host and helped us arrange airport transfer, wine tour and mountain tour. Everything was coordinated to perfection! If we get back to Mendoza we will definitely stay again! Highly recommend! Thanks Riyad for the MF good time and the whiskey too! Cate, Russell, Amy and Mark

But only if you have a car or other transportation
Our group was five retired adults, and we anticipated calling taxi’s to take us to dinners. However, on the evening of our arrival we could not get a taxi - actually two taxis needed for all of us. Our host Riyad saved us from a catastrophic night of eating eggs and toast for dinner by driving over himself to take several of us to a place to pick up pizza to go. While we greatly appreciated his efforts - he probably spent 90 minutes coming to get us, waiting for the pizza and driving us back - pizza to go was not what we had hoped for on our first night in Mendoza.
We had wonderful all day wine tours the following two days, including large lunches at the wineries, but again we were stuck eating out of the refrigerator in the evenings after having our guide the first day stop at the grocery with us to pick up items for dinner. Riyad had picked up groceries at our request before we arrived, but we had only ordered breakfast food because we had expected to go to restaurants each evening.
Bottom line is you really need a car or an arrangement for someone to drive you at night. Aside from the transportation problems, on the positive side the grounds are lovely and we really enjoyed lounging by the pool after a day of wine tasting. On the negative side were problems with the Internet - not completely unexpected in a rural area, but still a problem. There was a consistent but slow connection in the main house, but no connection in the smaller apartment. Riyad is aware and will try to have it fixed, but like all of us is at the mercy of an Internet provider. Also need to be aware that the place is essentially rural in nature, and while clean the facilities are somewhat rustic. Three of us enjoyed this aspect of the location, two did not. The pictures are accurate and descriptive, so nobody should be surprised buy what they find.
Despite our transportation problems we really enjoyed our time in Mendoza and would consider returning to Riyad’s place if we had a car.

Great property and host. Very nice area in wine region (nearby Chacras), easy access to leisure activities destinations (rafting, hiking, others). On weekends, there might be party in the neighbourhood. Overall very recommendable.

We arrived after staying in a VRBO in Buenos Aires, Beautiful place. This would have been the 4th VRBO for us this year. We have stayed in many VRBO over the years all over the world and each one rated 4.6 to 5 Star, have been as stated. The pictures are not accurate depictions of this house. Pull sheets back and dirt in bed. This house has 4.9 but it is no more than a 1 star. We left after one hour. That hour was to find another hotel. We paid for 4 nights and Breakfast and BBQ. He said all food was bought so no refund period but we weren’t going to ruin a great vacation staying in a small dark dirty house. If you fall for the 5 star rating don’t buy his meal plan. Save yourself a lot of money and stay in one of the many other beautiful places in Mendoza Province. Mendoza is fantastic!

Amazing property and owner!
There were 4 of us, two couples that stayed at Quinta. We had looked forward to this tume to relaxduring our 17 day stay in Argentina and had 4 days booked. It completely surpassed any expectations we may have had! Riyad is the perfect host and every thing he set up for us from dinners, a wine tour with a 5 course gourmet lunch, drivers.were nothing but the very best! The cherry on top was the authentic Argentine BBQ he and his grill chef, Juan, created for us was spectacular! An experience we will never forget. Every bite of food was absolutely delicious and created right before us.
The main house and the apartment were very clean and comfortable. The grounds are impeccably kept, and we wandered about in the relaxing atmosphere enjoying the many plants and trees. We can't wait to go back! We found a treasure in Mendoza and a friend in Riyad!

As the title suggest, Riyad was a great host. He was always helpful and available. He did a nice BBQ for us the first night with more food and wine than we could consume. The property is expansive with all kinds of hidden nooks and surprises. It was fun to explore and see the entire property. The accommodations are adequate but a bit tired, and the kitchens minimally stocked. But nothing prevented us from cooking basic meals and sleeping well. The pool was wonderful to cool off in after a day of exploring the Mendoza wine country, while the fire pit kept the chill off at night, as well as the mosquitos.

great location & relaxing atmosphere
This is the perfect spot for checking out the local wineries. It is within 15 minutes of most wineries. After a day of wine tasting, we thoroughly enjoyed coming back to the quinta and hanging around the pool with bottles we purchased throughout the day.

My family of 5 stayed at La Quinta for 4 nights. Riyad was very accommodating and had everything ready for our arrival. Our drive in from Santiago Chile took longer than expected due to strike of the guards at border control. We arrived around 8 pm just before sunset which was fortunate because I don't think we would have been able to find this place in the dark. It's rather well hidden on a dirt road in what seems to be the middle of nowhere. By the fourth day we had the lay of the land and could navigate fairly well between Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo, and La Quinta. My husband and I stayed in the guest house and on the second night (Saturday), we got no sleep due to the noisy neighbors who were playing musing ALL night long. When I mentioned this to Riyad the next day, he said we should have called the police, but honestly I would not even know how to do that nor how that might have been received by the neighbors. The other 3 nights were very quiet. Riyad made us reservations for horseback riding and even led us by convoy to the ranch so we wouldn't get lost. We also went to mass at the little Catholic church in the square at Chacras which was so quaint. We did partake in the BBQ extravaganza. The food was terrific and the grill master Angelo (from New York City ironically) was quite hospitable.

Love Quinta in Mendoza
We recently stayed here for 3 nights traveling between Santiago and Bariloche. It was a wonderful stay and the grounds are so lovely. Everything is very well maintained and having smaller children, it was perfect as they could run around and play and I didn't have to eagle eye them all the time. Riyad was a wonderful host and made sure everything was set up perfectly for us, even to the point of stopping by a local restaurant and making reservations for us. I would definitely come back and spend more time!

Delightful Garden Setting
The units are as pictured on the site and the location is excellent for access to town and wineries. I only wish there had been more of us so we could have taken advantage of the soccer field and volleyball net. The owner bent over backwards to have a 3 story tower put up so the internet would function by the end of our first week. He was responsive to our requests and even invited us to Thanksgiving dinner with friends. The barking dogs disturb the property's tranquility. Double pained windows installed in the guest house would go a long way to reducing the noise from the night clubs (close as the crow flies, not by proximity).

Wonderful Week in Mendoza
We had SUCH an incredible stay at Quinta Anabtawi. Riyad made everything so easy by arranging 7 tours of local wineries (all excellent), as well as horseback riding and a delicious BBQ which is not to be missed! I cannot recommend this place enough and hope that you have the opportunity to stay there.
The facilities are wonderful and very clean. The pool is incredible and the BBQ area makes for a great evening of fun and relaxation.
Dont miss an opportunity to stay here! Give our best to the wonderful beagle Homero who lives on the premises!

Relaxing Cottage with Spacious Grounds and a Wonderful Pool
After reading earlier entries in your guest book, I can only conclude that we have been by far your laziest visitors. But after 5 weeks on the road, a week of idleness was precisely what we needed. We did manage to visit 2 wineries, and compensated the kids for this with an excursion to the aquarium & serpentarium.
Other than that, we have read, swam in the fantasic pool, slept, walked in the garden, cooked for ourselves (a treat after so long) & tickled Homero’s belly. The kids played Monopoly, my husband & I talked without distractions about life back home. Oh ..and we gorged ourselves on your sweet, juicy peaches.
Your wonderful Quinta has restored us, ready again for a new year of work & school.
Thank You!!
Best wishes for the future & may your Malbec vines flourish.

Quinta Anabtawi Beautiful!
Sat 31st Mar – Friday 6th April
Riyad
A great find! Riyad, you’re the best host we could have hoped for. Excellent company as are Riyad Jr & Glori. Everything was made easy for us despite our very poor Spanish.
Quinta Anabtawi is an amazing place to stay. The accommodation is comfortable, the grounds unbelievable & the pool prefect. (If a little chilly)
The highlight has to be Glori’s BBQ – what a great chef! We all agreed that it was the best steak we’ve had in Argentina.
Local highlights:
Piadina – Great pizza/pastatostados
Belasco Baquedano – a great winery & gourmet tasting menu (& unbelievably inexpensive)
Marcvelo’s wine tour – what a cool guy!
The local village – Chacras de Coria is definitely worth a visit.
Looking forward to catching up with you when you come over for your visit to England.
Keep well.

Oh yes, everyone wants to kidnap Homero!

Amazing Quinta Anabtawi!!
Dear Riyad,
What a glorious 3 “full” days we have had in Mendoza thanks to you! Where do we begin…
- We loved your Quinta – the grounds are awesome and the location is ideal for visiting the wine country of Mendoza.
- Having you as a host is like having a personal concierge.
- The tours you arranged were also awesome.
- The Asado was one of the best meals we have had anywhere, anytime and sharing that time with you is a memory that we will cherish for ever.
- As dog lovers we enjoyed having Homero around and helped us not miss our animals at home.
- Your restaurant recommendations were spot on and we enjoyed them immensely.
- This has been high light of our trip and we are already looking forward to returning and spending more time here.
Thank you, Thankyou, Thankyou

Quinta Anabtawi Beautiful!
Feb 9-16, 2012
Riyad,
What can we say to describe this jewel of a resort and your hospitality. It started with the booking and the help you offered us and has ended with a fabulous asado!
You are much too modest on your website about how magnificent the Quinta really is.
A truly private resort with such unique amenities. We were here with our daughter and son-in-law so the guest house was perfect for the four of us. We so enjoyed trying at our own asados (twice) and even made pizzas in the mud oven one night. Thank you for making arrangements with Diego for our bike and winery tours, it was a fantastic day to enjoy the local scenery, wines and food. As my daughter said, one of the highlights of her life (only 27) was the lunch at Rucamalen you arranged for us. Truly spectacular. As for the Quinta, it was always an oasis whenever we returned from our day trips!
The pool was always inviting and such a relaxing place to unwind from the day’s activities.
This was a truly amazing family re-union for us and after the hustle and bustle of BA. We so loved this resort. Your own love for the place shows through the care and attention shown to the property. And of course there is loveable Homero, always there to greet us morning, noon and night. What a treat for a dog-loving family.
We wish you all the best success for the future

Mendoza? More than wine....
Riyad, my family and I are in love with this place.
Since we came to south America more than a year ago, our lives have been more than hectic. Staying at Quinta Anabtawi was a welcome respite; we have never felt more relaxed or able to let our hair down than we do in this setting. My daughter quickly befriended Homero, although he was reluctant to accept her ferocious hugs at first. The wines are to die for..
My recommendations are:
1. Dolium – small, friendly and their wines are luscious.
2. Lagarde – super cute, close and beautiful fruity viogners.
We hope to see you again in the future
Besos,
Rob, Sonia & Zoe.

February 14th, 2005.It is a pleasure to be the first one to write in this guest book and a sadness to be leaving this beautiful place. It is a measure of how much we felt a home that I felt moved to weed in the garden, provide food for Mario, the gardner , and entertain Mendocinos whom we had met here. The pool is so attractive that on hot days it became the centre of the property, indeed on cloudy days too. One can read, swim, relax, listen to the birds and watch the hawk all day being frantically chased by the smaller birds. No need to go anywhere else! But “café con leche” and pastries at Jebbs in Chacras became a daily must and there are all the wineries around. Not least of our pleasures here was Homer. A beagle with a personality, a love of petting and a mind of its own. He’s a delight! Finally we have to thank our host, Riyad, whom we now value as a friend. Riyad is quite the host & his grillman, Raul, will stay in our hearts for ever.- El Mate – we had the good fortune of making the acquaintance of some amazing Mendocinos – who invited us to their home for Mate.. what a day!All in all, we Love Mendoza – colder than we hoped, but it is winter.Thank you Riyadxoxoxox Lindsay & JackP.S. Adios Quinta Anabtawi, Riyad, Raul and Homero (“Mo”). Our time here was peaceful after busy BA. Many, many thanks, to our host for the beautiful and tranquil setting of this place. Things we especially enjoyed:
1- Driving to the Chilean border into the Andes
2- The back road to Tupungato
3- Raul’s cooking, especially el horno caldero
4- Rafting the Mendoza river – Argentina Rafting
5- The company of Mo.
6- Wonderful host Riyad
7- Tasting wine at Achaval Ferrer – if you like wine and you have time for one, this is it!
8- Not being a “white bread/pan casero” person, Kelly failed to add to the long list of “Jebs” devotees, but the rest of the crew loved the morning facturas and media lunas ritual.
9- A special emphasis to Raul’s asado (better than can be found anywhere we have feasted in Argentina – particularly his perfect grill of the meat cuts and the special gaucho sauce). Also the road (gravel for +- 20Km) from Potrerillos on Rte 9 to Tupungato and then out to Tupungato park post the high altiplano vineyards.
10- The afternoon mate and helados rituals with the tribe – from the high Andes to Riyad’s magical landscape and pool – special moments with the teenagers.
Riyad – from our first point of e-mail contact through 1500 Km of to/from driving excursions, our novice attempt at asado, to Raul’s bouquet evening and departure – everything has been a flawless dream (Ok, so we did have a few lost moments on the streets of Mendoza and violated siesta with our frenetic N.American psyche ?), we will certainly return – next time from Santiago by car and with all our climbing equipment!
All our love and best wishes

Thanks so much for the hospitality!
Quinta Anabtawi provided us with a wonderful oasis during our travels. After the busy times in B.A. and Mendoza, it was a pleasure to simply relax by the pool and soak it all up.
Homero also deserves many thanks. He was a great companion during our visit. We had to resist kidnapping him and taking him to Colorado with us.
Best of all in your endeavors

What a wonderful experience for the Herrington Family. We had the time of our lives visiting all the site, rafting, eating and enjoying this lovely Quinta.
We will return to Mendoza and to the quinta Anabtawi.
Thank you Riyad for opening your beautiful home to us and for making our stay very comfortable.
The highlight of the Quinta was “Homero the Dog”. He stole our hearts and will forever be remembered.

WoW ! What a wonderfully relaxing and beautiful week we spent at the Quinta Anabtawi.
Riyad thank you for making everything so easy to book over the internet and all the communication prior to arriving in Argentina. All the pictures and descriptions were so accurate. In fact it was so much better than expected! Our kids Abigail (16) and Vincent (8) had a great time in the pool, throwing the frizzbee, playing with Homero, hosting a family asado and enjoying the beautiful vegetation and amazing grounds. Thank you Riyad for making a possibly difficult situation so pleasant and friendly.
We so appreciate your hospitality and your friendship. We would like to return some day – now we have a new Argentinian family to visit too!
With gratitude

We had such a wonderful time at your villa! Thank you for being so kind and helpful! And Homero too! It was so special to wake up and see his face, play with him in the yard, and sit with him by the pool. He is such a sweet, gentle dog!
Some highlights:
-Driving to the Andes in our rental car. Parque Provincal Aconcagua is a must-see! There is a 30-45 minute walking path that was great. There is a look out point with views that are just breathtaking!
- Alta Vista and Nieto Senetiner had good, informative tours in English. I'd recommend both. Also we had lunch at Senetiner. I'd recommend that too. Norton was only ok.
- Golfing nearby was lots of fun. The nearest course for non-golf club members, La Vacharie, was very nice. Although it had only 9 holes, the views were spectacular. And the other course, Club de Campo, was a very well-conditioned, 18 hole course. Thank you so much for helping us get to the courses! That was very kind of you. We would have been lost without your help.
- Empanadas at the road side stand. Delicious!
But most of all we enjoyed hanging out at your villa. Relaxing by the pool, bbq (that was lots of fun!), the birds, the rabbits, and, of course, playing with Homero!
If we are ever lucky enough to return to Mendoza we will definitely stay at your villa again! We leave with many special memories. Thank you.

What an amazing place! Riyad- Thank you for all your kindeness. The architecture, grill, flowers and pool were beautiful.
We visited the thermal springs with the caves and the great authentic market at the entry. The drive through the mountains there was magnificent.
The horses down the street gave us a wonderful ride (gentle even for my 5yrs old girl) and a view of the snow capped mountains in the summer.
The disco-Bbq place even had their chef prepare sushi for us as their wonderful yellow lab dog gave us hugs as he wore his sunglasses. Yes, the dog wore sunglasses the majority of the evening.
Don’t miss the spectacular drives through the mountains, it is a natural wonder.
The shopping in independence plaza in Mendoza city is fantastic. Great shoes!
Riyad, “himself”, cooked us the best BBQ we have had in Argentina. Especially the tomatoes he cans himself. Mucho Bueno vino every noche!
Homer, thank you for your love and protection in the Quinta. May he live long prosperous and eat much carne!
Hasta luego – Chau
We will return.

Ohh! Don’t miss the truck that comes around in the morning shouting on a loud speaker. He has the most delicious fruit and vegetables.

Our stay at the quinta was outstanding – its tranquility is the perfect contrast to the fast paced BA experience. Riyad is a knowledgeable ambassador to Mendoza and a wonderful and interesting person that we truly enjoyed getting to know. The Quinta experience surpasses anything possible within the confines of a standard hotel accommodation, highlighted by an authentic Argentinean BBQ prepared by Riyad’s humorous and loveable amigo Raul. MAGNIFICENT!! You turned two vegetarians into meat-eaters for an evening! Homer was a spectacular pal – well mannered and adorable. We want to take him home!

After 15 glorious days in this beautiful place, my husband and I are heading back to Anchorage, Alaska. We have felt so at home here that we hate to leave!
Thank you, Riyad, for providing a small slice of paradise – the pool, the flowers, the comfortable house. We thank you for also for the company provided by Homero. We didn’t miss our dogs as much as usual. He is a great dog – “Mr. Personalityâ€.
We highly recommend spending time in Chacras. There are wonderful handicrafts sold in the square on Sunday mornings/early afternoons. Jebbs sells delightful pastries and café con leche. The butcher shop 1 block east of Jebbs has great cuts of meat. There are several Internet cafes in Chacras where you can access online services for $1 to $1.50 pesos per hour.
We have had wonderful tours of several wineries – Salentein, Tapiz, Cabrini, Dona Paula and Achaval Ferrer in the Lujan/Ugarteche area.
Everyone we have met here has been so kind and generous! . Our first day here, we got stuck in the road right after a thunderstorm and several people from the neighborhood stopped within 2 minutes to pull us out of the mud. It was just one example of the wonderful people we met.
We hope to be back !!
Gary and Debb Griffeth.
