The property is fair overall, but I would not stay again. The updated portion of the house is nice, but there was an odor and the dated bedrooms with old carpets and dirty comforters had strong odors and was hard on those of us with allergies. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen appeared nicely stocked, and we had plenty of towels and wash cloths. The biggest problem was the molded shower…We didn’t use the primary shower due to the presence of lots of black mold, so five of us shared the tub shower.
Just so you know, the toilets are old and very short, so it is hard on the knees of older people or those of us with bad knees.
While I would not stay here again, I rated this home four stars because others may not feel the same way, and I don’t want to discourage guests if they don’t mind smells and mold.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home during our eight night stay in AK. The house was clean, cozy, and well equipped. We had zero issues. Max was quick to respond to questions during booking and perfectly polite. We’d definitely choose Chugach Foothills Chalet for our next family adventure to AK.

The home is clean, beds were very comfortable, nice sheets and towels. The kitchen is very well stocked. The pots and pans were very good quality. There were many spices, foil, ziplock bags, Saran Wrap and wax paper. There is a keurig with coffee pods. Nice washer and dryer. Quiet culdesac and dark blinds made for a good nights sleep. We spent 7 nights at the home and it was perfect for our needs. Carr’s (Safeway) and Fred Meyer are close. There are many parks nearby, which was important to my granddaughter. The furniture was comfortable for watching the large screen TV, when we were unwinding in the evening. I would stay here again.

We rented this house for a family reunion. 4 adults and 1 child. The house was spacious and full of anything we could possibly need for the week. Grocery shopping was easy with CARRS about a mile away and Fred Meyer a couple miles away. We loved the decor of the house.Max was very responsive. The first morning we were there the Keurig broke and I called Max to see if he had another coffee maker available. He delivered a new Keurig to the house that evening. I would definitely recommend this house to others and choose to stay here again.

Max's chalet was exactly as described and an ideal location for the Mayor's Marathon. I would strongly recommend this location as a base camp for any south-central Alaskan vacation, whether you are doing the marathon or not. Lastly, Max was easy to work with. So grateful for the opportunity.

All perks of home away from home.
The house was very comfortable and roomy. I loved early morning coffee by the fireplace. All the widows brought in great daylight, even for winter. The kitchen had most everything a home would need to cook meals. Which we did. Being winter and snow everywhere made it easy to want to relax evenings and visit with family. The neighborhood felt safe and was minutes away from all we did. In all it was an easy stay and made the trip way more enjoyable for all. I am so glad I booked this house.

It is situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood which we enjoyed coming home to each night to relax and rest up for our next adventure. Thank you, Max, for being such a great host! It was the perfect place for our stay in Anchorage, and we would definitely stay here again!

Lovely home on quiet cul-de-sac
My family (4 adults and twin 8-year old girls) stayed in this delightful house for 10 nights. We arrived late in the evening, but the owner was very responsive and provided all the information we needed to self check-in and provided contact info in case of a problem. We loved the house. The living area has large windows and a vaulted wood ceiling so it feels cozy but roomy. The kitchen is large enough to have 2 or 3 people working in it. There is a Keurig coffee pot and we were thrilled to see there were coffee pods for the next morning. (After a long day of travelling we hadn't felt up for a grocery run after we arrived.) There also were many basic food and condiment items, and the kitchen is very well supplied with pots, pans, utensils, etc. We enjoyed sitting on the deck off the dining room. We used the gas grill, which appears to be connected to the main gas line of the house. There also is a gas fire pit on the deck, but it requires propane which we didn't have. The 3 bedrooms all have very comfortable beds well supplied with nice sheets and blankets. The large bedroom has attached bath and there is a second bathroom near the other 2 bedrooms. Our impression was that the owner wants to make sure guests have the comfort of home and furnishes the property accordingly. The house more than met our comfort needs and served as a wonderful base while we explored Anchorage and took day trips to Wasilla, Talkeetna, Whittier, Matanuska glacier and much more.

Loved Our Stay in the Chuguch Foothills Chalet
The house was clean, cozy and the perfect 3 bedroom for our 5 people. The large screen TV was very appreciated as was the refigerator and washer and dryer after spending a few days in remote areas of Alaska.

Perfect! Our first choice if we visit the Anchorage area again.
House was very clean and had everything we needed. Beds were better than the $400 a night resort we stayed at about 30 miles to the south. Max was excellent to work with, he was very good at responding to messages and providing info.

Quiet Suburban Home near Anchorage and Chugach State Park
The home is well situated to get to either Anchorage city or hiking at Chugach State Park. The interior provides a welcoming regional design with stone and wood walls and ceilings and the large screen TV is a cool amenity to relax with after a day of sightseeing and hiking. Be sure to bring sleep masks in the summer as the daylight never goes away. It was also nice knowing that the Owner was always nearby, but unobtrusive, should we have had any questions or concerns..

Comfortable, clean, well outfitted, in quiet neighborhood
Two colleagues and I stayed here for 3 nights. Communications w/Max were excellent -- he was very friendly and super-responsive. Easy check-in, immaculate home with everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. Walking distance to neighborhood parks and trails. Very convenient to midtown without being in strip-mall central. Only quibble for non-AK folk is the lack of blackout curtains; one of us had some trouble getting to sleep with the long hours of daylight. Would definitely stay again!
