About this villa rental
This spacious townhouse villa is located just a short walk away from 12-miles of white, beautiful, sandy BEACHES. The exclusive Shipyard Plantation is a gated community that provides its own private beach access for owners and guest convenience. The plantation is surrounded by some of the best golf courses in the world, miles of paved biking paths with palm trees and oak trees covered in Spanish moss, professional tennis courts and gorgeous sunny beaches.
Professionally decorated with new furniture and fresh paint, this villa is one you’ll just have to see to believe! Recently added more modern lighting throughout first floor and a new 65-inch TV in living room!!
Our two bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse offers all the comforts of home. We have a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. There is a small breakfast nook AND a nice dining area for plenty of seating. There are two large bedrooms with a King bed in EACH room. Both bedrooms have their own private baths, TV, and private balcony. One bedroom has a sitting area, and the other bedroom has a brand-new trundle bed with 2 additional twin-size beds for extra guests. A spacious living room connected to the dining area provides an open concept floor plan for our guests to relax. There is a brand-new queen-size pullout sofa bed for added sleeping area. There is also a large, oversized, back deck that comfortably seats 6. The covered deck also offers a beautiful view of the pool provided for Tennis Master guests only. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the outdoor views from all angles.
Between the BEACHES. golf, WATER SPORTS, shopping, tennis and biking I think it is safe to say there is truly something for everyone's vacation enjoyment, which is why Hilton Head Island is so special and well worth the visit. Once you visit Hilton Head Island, you'll understand why so many people choose to vacation here year after year.
One of the popular attractions in the Shipyard Plantation is the nationally renowned Van Der Meer Tennis Center where guests can take tennis lessons daily from tennis professionals and pros. Check out the Van Der Meer official tennis website for more details. You will be very impressed with the quality of their tennis courts and the wide variety of tennis lessons/clinics available for all ability levels.
While tennis is certainly popular here on the island, most people would agree that GOLFING is one of the most popular leisure activities. HHI offers some of the most pristine public and private golf courses in the country that attract many visitors, including celebrities.
Home to 26 championship GOLF courses, designed by golf architects like Robert Trent Jones Sr., Pete Dye, and Jack Nicklaus; it's no surprise that HHI has been voted as one of the Top-10 golf destinations in the world (according to Golf Digest). In fact, the island is a PGA TOUR event destination, as well as the host of the annual RBC Heritage Classic in the spring.
Hilton Head Island has GOLF courses for ALL ability levels, including oceanfront courses, as well as traditional parkland courses. One beautiful golf course is so close, it is just across the street from our townhome.
In addition to wonderful golf and tennis don't forget to check out the many different types of outdoor WATER SPORTS available in Hilton Head. There is a wide variety of things to choose from including kayaking with dolphins, jet skiing, sailing, and deep-sea fishing. There truly is something for everyone!
Special Beach Note: Sea Turtle Patrol monitors Hilton Head Island beaches for SEA TURTLE nesting and hatching activity annually, May through October, to promote the existence of these endangered species and to spread awareness of their struggle through public education and outreach. With careful planning and patience, you may be blessed to witness a hatchling racing to the ocean water using a special red flashlight. Our kids were amazed when they witnessed this on the Hilton Head Island beach at night.
SHOPPING divas don't despair! There is plenty of shopping to enjoy on the island also. One of the most popular shopping destinations on the island is the Coligny Shopping Plaza located close to the beach with many original stores and boutiques to choose from. If you are more of a bargain shopper, check out the Tanger Outlet Mall just a short drive to the 'main' land (about 20 minutes away from Shipyard). Amazing deals on brand name items and a great variety of stores to choose from makes this a nice shopping destination. Lastly, checkout Harbor Town by the light house for more unique shopping choices located near the lighthouse and in a boat marina setting.
If FOOD is your passion, there are many wonderful places to choose from! Our favorite dining places include, but are not limited to, One Hot Mamas, Smoke House (excellent barbecue), Salty Dog Cafe (by the water), Skull Creek Boat House (with beautiful outdoor dining along the water) and Aunt Chilada's with authentic Mexican food. If you enjoy an outdoor beer garden check out the new addition called, The Bank, where you can make beer "withdrawals", eat yummy food and watch large outdoor screens for sports, etc. There are various food trucks and even ice cream for the young at heart visitors to enjoy. Last, but not least, don't forget that since we are on an island, there is plenty of fresh seafood options available. We recommend the Carolina Crab Company and The Wreck restaurant over by the Salty Dog shopping area.
HHI is a NATURE LOVERS paradise full of interesting greenery and a multitude of wildlife (turtles, alligators, squirrels, deer, herons, crabs and many others). This may explain why one of the most popular past times on the island is bike riding. Guests come from all over the country to enjoy the MILES OF SCENIC BIKE PATHS that wind along lagoons, golf courses, and other popular outdoor locations such as Harbor Town. We highly recommend taking some time to go biking and explore all of the beauty that Hilton Head has to offer. Who knows, you may even get lucky and see some alligators basking in the sun along the bank of a lagoon. :) Throughout our stay we typically bike ride to restaurants and visit the beach daily.
SPECIAL Note:
Attentive owners make continuous updates including new king beds, new living room furniture, and fresh paint in January 2024. As a result, our townhouse villa has been booked full throughout the years since we purchased it in 2014 with many repeat renters.

We loved the townhouse which had great views of the pool and garden area. Loved the trails and short walk to the beach. The townhouse was clean and well stocked. We contacted the owners for the door code and they quickly responded. They were great to work with.

The unit was perfect for our family as it was steps from the pool, a 10-minute walk to the beach, and close to restaurants and shops! The unit was clean, and the owner was responsive during the trip.

We loved the location. So close to Sonesta. We walked our dogs to the Shipyard beach everyday. The outside deck over looking the pool was a special treat. Our family of 2 small dogs & young adult children really enjoyed our stay & would rent again.

The total experience at this property was amazing. Checking to checking out. The owners was so helpful with any questions asked. The beach was a short 10 min walk from the property inside the gated community. I would highly recommend this property and we will be returning on future beach trips.

Stayed here for four nights with our family and dog. We have stayed in Hilton Head at various units in Shipyard and Palmetto Dunes over the past ten trips, and this is the first one that the owners didn’t include the beach parking pass—-which is free for them to do. After speaking with gate agent, we confirmed it’s a simple form. Unfortunately, this meant that we had to schlep alllll the beach stuff that comes with two young kids and then come back and bike back every time we wanted to go to the beach. It was doable for this shorter trip, but would have been extremely troublesome for a week.
The unit itself is in a good location (assuming you also get the parking pass). Loved being able to walk down to the pool—- it’s right there! Unfortunately, the deck is sagging and rotting out, railing falling off, and the underside is filled with wasps nests. I got stung. But the neighbors are super nice and pulled up with ice packs!
Inside, it’s decorated nicely and the tvs are large. The other fixtures are outdated and not all work correctly. One bath doesn’t have a way to undo the shower switch to use the bath, the other has to have the faucet turned just so to have it turn off. None of the closet doors stay shut and since the bathrooms are super tiny, it gets very cramped and annoying.
Drawers were very difficult to open or completely broken. No ceiling fans (bring your own). No baby gate or grill. Checkin Code wasn’t sent in advance and owner took more than 15 min to respond.

We had a great stay at this unit. Really enjoyed the location as it was easy bike ride to the beach. The back deck overlooking the pool was a nice place to relax. Beds were very comfortable which is at the top of our list for amenities! Owner was very responsive with any questions we had. Highly recommend.

Overall the villa was in a great location. We rented to attend the RBC Heritage Golf Tourney. We were disappointed there were no ceiling or stand fans to cool off rooms, and no BBQ for burgers.
The furniture, new rugs, new paint were great updates. Location was easy to get too and many things in area. Would rent there again.

Perfect location, home is great . Near pool, you can see from both decks. The walking paths were fantastic and just a quick skip to the beach!

Condo is nice, clean and in a great location.
Not fancy but we'll equipped. Enjoyed the pool.

We booked this unit because we intended to bring pets (which we ultimately did not). Since it was pet friendly, we thought it may be not as nice as other places we could’ve booked. Well that assumption was WRONG. The unit was larger than it appeared in the photos. It was clean and fresh, the beds were very comfortable, there was ample dining and seating areas, and the unit had everything we needed, including chairs and floats for the beach and pool. The bathrooms were a little dated but there were no issues with function.
The location was also perfect for us - a short walk to the beach and just steps out the back to the pool.
Communication with Adam was fantastic - just some minor issues that were taken care of immediately and he is such a gracious host!

Very fast response from Adam, location and condo was great. We will go back.

Upon enter the condo the first thing I noticed was the dirt on the floors and carpet! It was clear that they hadn’t been cleaned! Before bringing in our things I basically cleaned the entire condo - I did not call property manager because I wanted to ensure that it was cleaned to my expectations - not a good first impression of the condo. We moved our things in and realized the ice maker was broken (so we had to buy ice for 2 weeks) and the only person who could open the sliding glass door was my husband - the track needed some work! The location of the condo is great - just need a better cleaning company. Also maybe use some of the rental income to update condo - could be beautiful with a lot of TLC. Will definitely not be back!

The property is not representative of the pictures posted. I did not get off to a good start. Gate passes where not ready when I arrived and the property was not cleaned from the previous residents upon arrival, waited until 6 pm on arrival day for the cleaning crew to show up. The property needs to be refreshed and painted. Just dirty in many areas. I would not stay again

We attend the PTR tennis conference held at the Sonesta Resort every year. The Tennis Master condo is walking distance to the resort. This unit was very clean, the kitchen is well stocked with basic cooking equipment and the view of the pool is relaxing. The new TV was great for relaxing and watching movies in the evenings.
The condo overlooked the pool area with a bit of grass right behind the unit. If you plan to bring a pet, just be aware that pets are not permitted in the area surrounding the pool, so you will need to walk a few extra steps to find somewhere for your pet to go to the bathroom. The Shipyard walking paths are close by and convenient except for early morning bathroom trips for our senior pup.
The property owner promptly responded to our query about the door entry code and a question about the HVAC system.
We enjoyed our stay and would consider this location again because of it's proximity to the Sonesta, the beach and great restaurants!

My husband, dog and I had a wonderful vacation at Adam's villa.
It was very clean, good kitchen equipment and utensils. Lots of TV's etc . It was also close to the beach less than a 15 minute walk.
Adam was very responsive in terms of a few minor issues, which is very important.

Really enjoyed staying at this condo for 2 weeks. Nicely decorated rooms and nice having a covered deck with nice table and chairs.. Loved the view out the living room and having the pool right there. Loved having the beach access just a 4 minute car ride away. Biked there many day too. Great communication with the owner. The only thing that could be improved is the couch which was pretty soft. Would stay here again.

We loved the location especially having the swimming pool right there. The villa we stayed in was adequate. It is very dated, definitely needs some upgrades. We had issues with lights working, toilet draining and the sliding doors didn't slide. We contacted the owner, he responded quickly but his maintenance guy never came by. We also had a difficult time getting through the gate as they had no parking pass for us. We had to call VRBO and they tracked down the owner for us. We would probably not stay at this villa again.

First of all Adam, the owner was extremely fast with answering any questions. Location was great, steps to the pool. Villa was very cozy. Kids loved “ kids” room. Beach was about 10 mins walking slow w the dog. Bike to it for 2 minutes. We will definitely return.

Ghost Host
No TV instructions!!!!!!! Tried to communicate with host / who responded on his time, with lousy instructions just to watch cable service that was provided! Had to watch tv on our iPads because he just ghosted us and couldn't have cared less if we had tv service or not!
Disorganized kitchen is NOT WELL STOCKED. Dishes, pots, pans and utensils had to be washed by hand to remove caked on old food! It was disgusting. No ice maker!
Loud and clanging noise between bedroom walls interrupting sleep ALL NIGHT LONG. Clearly needs maintenance.
Not a GAS Grill on deck - a flimsy cheap George Forman Grill that was filthy - had to ask the cleaner to clean before she left - we were waiting on deck. Check in time was changed from 3-5pm without notice. No mention of car beach pass for parking at Shipyard Beach, just happened to find it in a desk drawer!
GET RID OF THE FAKE PLANTS THROUGHOUT THIS UNIT! OLD, DIRTY, FULL OF MITES SND SPIDERS!!!!! Asthmatics nightmare!!!! PETS ARE ALLOWED HERE DO YOU GET THEIR LEFT OVER DANDER TOO!!
THIS UNIT IS NOT WORTH THE RENTAL FEE!

We stayed for a long weekend. Place was in a great location. Pool right outside of the condo. 5 min bike ride to the beach and a 10 min walk. Easy access to golf and tennis courts. Condo was clean and in good condition. The host was amazing with communicating. I would go back for sure.

Great neighborhood and short bike ride to the beach.
Great location, close to the beach, gated community. The unit could use some updates to the small bathrooms, but Im sure the owners may already have this in mind. The attic fan runs every morning making a squeaking noise that reminds me of my camper bathroom fan. LOL Other than a few things that can be fixed my family and I enjoyed our visit. Thank you ☺️

Amazing Stay!
My family and I had a wonderful stay in this villa! When we arrived, the villa was super clean and very spacious. We loved Shipyard and all of the walking trails that were offered. So much nature to view and places to adventure. The beach was a very easy walk and an even easier drive. There was plenty of parking each day for us if we drove to the beach. The pool was perfectly set behind the villa making it easy for us to go for a quick swim and the surrounding area was perfect for our pooch! Everyone we met in Shipyard was so friendly as well. Highly recommend going to Harbourtown and Salty Dog. If you have kids, there is the most amazing treehouse playground in Harbourtown. Overall, our trip was perfect! Adam was very quick to reply to any questions I had and we will definitely book with him again.

Excellent location
We really enjoyed our stay and the location. The pool is right outside the villa which was great! All the locals at the pool were super friendly and gave us tips. The ocean is about a 5 minute walk but it was not busy so we ended up driving back and forth since we have 3 little kids. We saw some alligators and dolphins! We mostly just stayed at the villa but there are plenty of places to get food, groceries, or go out. We really enjoyed the area overall!
The villa is big and plenty of space for our family of 5. The owner was super responsive to any questions. Last minute we decided not to bring our dog and he refunded us. (In future we would bring dog, so if you have a dog that's a plus!).
There were plenty of towels, kitchen supplies, some beach supplies, bedding, and they even supplied some toilet paper and dish washer soap.
There is a washer and dryer that was really nice to have!
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The villa could use some updating but we spent most of our time outside so didn't care too much.
All bedrooms are upstairs and there's a half bathroom on main floor. There are games and puzzles.
Some things that could get updated - the doors (front door trim and probably needs new patio doors), there is a George foreman grill not a gas grill, the upstairs bathrooms shower curtains could use replaced. There is a nice closet in entryway but it's a disaster so we didn't even really dig through it but it has potential and might have some buried treasures of sand/ swim toys.
Make sure to ask for access code for entry before arrival. I misunderstood and thought it would be given to us upon arrival.
Again, the owner was super responsive and overall the place is nice, it could just use some updates.

Wonderful time Adams place was great and for it being pet friendly If at any time you needed to get in touch with Adam he responded promptly We do recommend not to leave beach gear in the gated area out front our beach chairs were stolen all the years going to the island first time for that🙄. We would definitely stay here again location was great for us

Wonderful and relaxing vacation
We stayed in this vacation rental from July 20 to July 28 of 2021. Adam was very communicative and quick to reply to our questions. His villa at the Shipyard has everything one might need for a comfortable vacation. This host is quite thoughtful even having a foam mattress topper in the master bedroom and a baby gate for his downstairs patio. (Although my husband and I did notice that previous guests must have broken his baby gate and did not report that damage to him.....we did not need that since we were all adults .) Adam provides plenty of extra towels, linens, and even blankets. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to do some home cooking, including a toaster and coffee maker, and of course a microwave with a food cover. He provides 3 TVs throughout the unit and WiFi. The Villa itself is very roomy and the 2 and 1/2 baths were indeed a Godsend! This unit is very close to the pool....the back patio is right across from the pool gate. This Villa is also just a couple of minutes down the path from the Shipyard beach club and beach access. It's a very nice beach with plenty of parking right there, if you choose not to walk, and it even has spacious and clean bathrooms and also showers to clean off the sand. This beach also has a lifeguard! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this Villa with this thoughtful host. Also, if you don't feel like cooking, the Hilton Head Diner has reasonably priced meals that are delicious. For more international culinary experiences, (also much more expensive), try Nunzios (Italian) Charlie's L'Etoile Verte (French) and Alfred's (German).....they were fabulous! The Crazy Crab in Jarvis creek had awesome seafood that was moderately priced for the generous amount they gave you. Also, and very important, you need reservations made days ahead of time, in order to get in anywhere, at any time, even off times or you will not be able to get seated at any restaurant. Well, we hope this was helpful to fellow travelers, and that you are able to enjoy your stay as much as we did! Once again, thank you Adam for all your assistance. Best regards to you and your family from Bill and Ana Coar and our family.

Great location and value
This is an ideal spot to bring your family (and pets) to HHI. Shipyard has a real neighborhood feel, with miles of private paths for walking and biking. The central location between Coligny and Shelter Cove made getting around a snap. The condo was well appointed and much nicer than other pet-friendly places we have visited. The deck was great - plenty big enough for the 6 of us to enjoy dinner on. Being literally steps from the pool was a nice bonus. It was a longer walk to the beach than we anticipated, but the shuttles running back and forth were handy. There’s no ice maker in the kitchen, which was kind of a bummer, but otherwise the owner Adam provided pretty much everything we needed for our 10 day stay. We had an issue with parking pass access upon our arrival, which was a BIG disappointment. However, we reached out to Adam and he was able to resolve the issue in relative short time. All in all, this condo was everything we were looking for in a home away from home, and Adam was very responsive to our messages. Would 100% stay here again, and have already recommended this condo to friends and family.
