This tastefully furnished lodge looking decor, YELLOWSTONE RIVERVIEW RETREAT, is located only 3 miles north from Yellowstone National Park original entrance in Gardiner, Montana. Riverview Retreat is the perfect place for fishing the Yellowstone river for as the Yellowstone river flows thru the back yard, also great for photographers, wildlife enthusiasts, Weddings, or just sitting on the banks of the Yellowstone river and enjoying the tranquility of the river and Yellowstone park across the way.

This house sits on three acres, surrounded by lots of mature trees a huge yard with the back of yard being private, the back yard has a covered gazebo with rock fire place and a deck over the banks of the Yellowstone River, also apple and cherry trees. The house is a 2 bedroom with a king bed in master room, queen bed and bunk bed with bottom bunk a full and top bunk a single. 1 full bathroom with shower tub and 2 sinks with handicap bars in bathtub and at toliet. 1 1/2 bathroom with a toilet and sink at the back door easy to get to from the outside. Large living room with 54 inch TV with satellite. Dining room table sits 8 and a counter bar that sits 3. The kitchen is fully stocked with all amenities, coffee, tea, sugar, spices, flour, ketchup and lots more. I also stock tp, all soaps except hair. Washer and dryer with soap. And bear spray to take with you will your out hiking. The back yard has a deck with table and chairs with barbeque right off the back door. The large back yard is big enough to play soccer in and then the most enjoyable feature is the gazebo with deck over the river. We also have built a concrete dance floor off the gazebo for weddings. This house is a very comfy house and is far enough out of town to not hear all the noise but yet close enough if you need to run in to get some supplies.

At different times of the year you may see different wildlife in the yard such as mule deer, elk, grizzly and black bear and buffalo.

This is a lovely house in which I felt very much at home. It is perfectly positioned just off the highway a couple of miles out of Gardiner in a quiet area with only a few other houses. Parking is right outside the front door. The furniture is in excellent condition (as are all the appliances) and very comfortable, with good lighting. Everything is very clean. Sandy's photographs (particularly of the wolf) are stunning. Immediately outside the house is a patio with a table and comfortable chairs, and at the bottom of the yard and next to the river is another larger covered seating area with every type of chair you can think of. I found my favourite and it's a great place to sit and relax after a busy day in Yellowstone. The yard is also enjoyed by the local wildlife; I had an elk invasion, owls and plentiful bats to keep me comfortable. I would be happy to rent this property again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was an ideal location for entering the park. We never had more than 2 cars ahead of us to get in the park. The couch and bed were comfortable and so relaxing after a long day in the park. The kitchen was well stocked with staples which made it so easy for simple meals at home. We would definitely stay here again.

Took a family trip to Yellowstone with 2 kids parents and grandparents. Sandy’s place was great. Well appointed and comfortable and the deck over the river was beautiful! Lots of elk stopping by in the evening which was super fun. Sandy was a great host and we would highly recommend her house!

Prefect location, close enough to Yellowstone park entrance without being in the hustle and bustle of Gardiner. The river was really flowing and could be heard quietly while drifting to sleep, so peaceful! The owners were fantastic, greeted us upon arrival to go over a few things and show us around. Very clean house, had everything you may need. The back yard is great and wish we could have enjoyed it more but the weather had other plans! I highly recommend this house!

Very nicely appointed and clean home with very relaxing covered deck and furniture overlooking river. All the basic condiments, laundry and dishwasher supplies left for use. Sandy was great at communicating details for access and checking in by phone while there. We’d definitely look to stay here again.

My Aunt is in stage 4 cancer. She wanted Montana, she wanted peace and serenity. Mrs. Karnes certainly provided all of this for us. Words and pictures could never depict what you experience in this atmosphere. Breath taking beautiful, comfortable home. Warm and friendly. Time enjoyed. The views are exceptional. It was so nice to wake up every morning start a fire and drink coffee while listening to the Yellowstone River and glass the mountain for Elk. Every night we had a herd of Elk walk through the property it was amazing. Sandy and Jake we phenomenal hosts. It was my daughter’s birthday and they were kind enough to decorate with decorations I had amazon deliver before we arrived! I can not say enough about the location, property and hospitality! We will definitely recommend to friends, family and will stay again if heading that direction for future vacation!

My family stayed 4 nights and we absolutely loved it!!! Location is great, house is great, and host is great. Many thanks to Sandy,Jake and Kayla for the hospitality. If we ever get a chance to go back to Yellowstone the cabin at Gardiner is the place to stay. My son had elk at his window at night!!!

This stay was magical. The backyard was the highlight of this stay. We were able to see so much wildlife and relax next to the river. On top of that the house and owners were incredibly friendly, and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!

We had such a great time in Yellowstone and this home was a perfect base camp. The home was fully stocked and we enjoyed eating our dinner by the river. We saw elk in the backyard each morning and were woken to an elk eating right outside the bedroom window. We only wish we could have stayed longer!!

We loved our stay at Sandy‘s property. The pictures on the listing are a very accurate representation. We loved sitting on the deck out by the river. I could’ve sat there for hours every day. We saw elk and their calves every morning and were able to make s’mores in the fire outdoor fireplace. Jake and Kayla were delightful to interact with. Our son enjoyed playing Monopoly. We appreciated the games and toys that you had available in the house. Kitchen was well stocked. We would love to come back and stay again.

My husband and I loved this property. It is the perfect place to unwind and have down time after visiting Yellowstone. It's far enough away from Gardiner for calm and quiet yet close enough to get take-out from the local restaurants/food trucks. Everything was absolutely perfect. Our 6 year old grandson really enjoyed the toys! If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars, I would. Thank You!!!

We could not have asked for a better place to stay on our first trip out west. The property was clean, the views were spectacular, and the people were amazing. The house was stocked with everything could have asked for. The location was perfect for quick day trips to Yellowstone, and the back yard was stunning. Our hosts were spectacular, and my daughter will tell you the best part of the trip was playing with their dogs and visiting their horses, which they were kind enough to let us do. When we return to the Yellowstone area, we will absolutely stay here again. Absolutely amazing!

We loved this place. The cabin itself is comfortable. Outside there is a a great area to sit and watch the river. If I come back to this area this is the cabin I want to stay in. We are very happy we chose this property. Didn't want to leave.

The house was exactly as listed, with a stunning backyard gazebo right on the river, in the shadow of snow-capped mountains. An elk even spent an afternoon visiting us there. The house was very clean and well-stocked. And the wonderful owner checked in with us a few days before we arrived to share some helpful directions and suggestions. Would love to go back tomorrow.

What a wonderful property. The porch and deck over the water are so relaxing. Its close to Yellowstone and Gardiner. The owner and the son who lives on the property were very communicative and helpful. There are many pictures of various wildlife from Yellowstone in the house which we also enjoyed. Loved our stay!

This property is stunning! We had three mule deer hanging out in the backyard and loved the sound of the river just outside. The house is so clean and perfect for long stays or families. It is perfectly appointed with everything you would need for a comfortable stay! We are already talking about a return trip. It is minutes from town and Yellowstone entrance. I highly recommend staying here! Oh and I mention how kind the host is? You will be in good hands!

This is a cute, little house right on the Yellowstone River. A nice yard for kids to play and kick a ball. You are just within steps on the River. The house has a quaint, little kitchen and nice living room. The bedrooms were just perfect for us and our 2 children. We would definitely go back!
