Highly recommend. The property is charming on an estate in one of the most desirable areas of Punta del Este - close to everything but far enough away that you can breathe the cool Antarctic breezes while you listen to the birds chirp in the lovely English-style garden. Karen and Ken are excellent hosts and lovely humans.

What a beautiful property that was so well built and arranged with fabulous gardens and a pool surrounding the casita. The casita was absolutely lovely and very comfortable with everything needed for any duration of a stay. Our extended time of 30 days was exceptional, peaceful and serene. As active walkers, the distance to the city center or the beach was not a problem and Uber was readily available if you don’t rent a car. They also provided bicycles for use and periodically took us to the local Féria. Kenny and Karen were the most gracious hosts imaginable providing much insight about the areas and things to do and see. They were very generous with their time and attention on even the smallest of matters. We really enjoyed Kenny’s vegetable gardening overview and explanations of his other building endeavors. Karen was just a WhatsApp question away if any type of need arose. She was very responsive, attentive and fun to spend time with as was Kenny. Thanks for a truly memorable experience to our new good friends in Uruguay!

I don’t know how we could have had any better stay in Punta del Este. Karen and Ken were awesome and so sweet and helpful. The casita was perfect with all of the accompaniments of home as well as a beautiful outdoor living space. We loved the 2 dogs that greeted us each morning while we were outside having our coffee.

The Best!!
We absolutely loved our time at Karen and Kenny’s casita. It’s beautifully designed- so tastefully done with many seating areas inside and out. We spent many hours reading and lounging by the pool and staring at the beautiful garden which contained lots of vegetables and herbs ripe for the picking. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need-including 3 different types of coffee makers-and the coffee! Upon arrival there was fruit, bread and cheese. The refrigerator was stock with milk, juice, water-much appreciated! We ate in many times -there’s a wonderful barbecue under a trellis -very romantic! The location couldn’t be better-The neighborhood is lovely with beautiful old houses and a short walk to a stunning beach. The place is so gorgeous you never want to leave-which is what happened-we extended our stay! Can’t say enough about our gracious hosts. Thank you Kenny and Karen! We’d love to come back!

Perfect in every way...
The photos of this property do not do it justice. It is even more charming and special. The have thought of everything to make a stay their place completely comfortable and serene.
The location is walkable to a wonderful beach and other sights are close by. Our vacation went way to quickly. We are so fortunate to have this memory and hope to return. It’s a long way from NYC...but worth the time to get here.
Thank You Karen and Ken...and their wonderful dog Gardell for welcoming us.

Pristine Guest House in the Woods
The property is actually even nicer than it looks in the pictures! Spacious bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, big comfy bed, and a great little patio area next to the pool. It's just a 5 minute drive from the city, and pleasant walking distance to the beach.
Karen and her husband are fantastic hosts! They'll give as much attention or privacy as you desire.
Looking forward to staying here again next time we're in Punta del Este.

Perfect retreat
We spent 11 days in this lovely casita, and hated to leave. It is nestled into the lush garden of a beautiful old home near the beach. The casita is beautifully designed, with covered terrace, sitting area, eat in kitchen, bedroom and bath.. It is beautifully constructed and very comfortably and tastefully appointed. There is a small pool too. The casita is just blocks from the beach, and an easy drive to shops and restaurants..Karen and Ken are gracious hosts, who showed us their favorite markets and hosted a parrilla in their beautiful outdoor barbeque area. They made our stay in Punta del esta feel so comfortable, that it was truly like being at home away. Highly recommend this little corner of heaven. We definitely hope to return@

Two Nights in Punta del Este
This private guest house is perfect! The owners are wonderful hosts and the property is beautiful. This felt like staying at a friend's house - with complete privacy and comfort. The stay was a perfect introduction to the area - allowing us to have a quiet retreat from the condos and apartment hustle and bustle of Punta. We used Uber perfectly to go into town when we wanted and came "home" when we wanted peace and quiet. Thank you for a perfect stay in Punta del Este.

We returned home recently after a two-week stay at Villa St. Andrews with Karen and Ken. Their idyllic cottage was just the tonic for both my husband and myself! The cottage is a lovely blend of elegant touches with a colonial Spanish flavor. The interior is carefully appointed to provide everything you might need for lounging and relaxing. The kitchen has modern appliances, all the utensils and china you would ever need, and a comfortable dining area. The bedroom has a king-size bed and the bathroom has a cleverly designed open shower. It was amazing to learn that Ken (who was a contractor in his “former life”) built not only the cottage, but also the refreshing plunge pool. Ken carefully tends the pool and the phenomenal garden that graces the property. He and Karen have accumulated an astonishing number of vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers to add color to your table and zest to your meals. Perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of our stay was getting to know Karen and Ken! They are both accomplished in their own right, well-read and engaging conversationalists. An added advantage is that they are quite knowledgeable about the area and, indeed, about Uruguay as a whole. We enjoyed taking in beach shops and restaurants in Jose Ignacio and sampling many of the fine dining establishments in Punta del Este. Several suggestions for the adventurous: Be sure to try Mia Bistro — an open-air restaurant on the beach a short walk from Villa St. Andrews. Do visit the new, young winery named Villa Eden. It is a bit of a drive, but plan on staying for a large, late lunch. Their chef is excellent. Every dish had subtle flavors to enjoy. And for you equestrians, there is a classical dressage instructor named Mauricio Delucchi who kindly and expertly helped reacquaint me to riding after a long absence from the saddle. His wife, Paulina Morales, manages their establishment, Haras Godiva. It is exceptionally well designed, including an indoor arena to ride on rainy or hot days. Mauricio is an aficionado of the baroque Lusitania horse, as am I. We had lots to talk about and a couple of much appreciated lessons. VRBO was a new experience for us, but we truly enjoyed it and would recommend it most highly!

Wonderful stay!
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here for a very pleasant 8 nights. The hosts, Karen and Ken, were more than accommodating and helpful. The quest house is located in a very nice quiet neighborhood and close to all the beaches and attractions. It was nice to take walks along the quiet and unhurried streets with the fragrance of abundant flowers in the air. Also worth noting is the very private pool and patio area located conveniently just out our door. Two big thumbs up!

A litte gem !
This charming villa is a litte gem ! Confortable bed, privacy and tranquility, beautiful flowers and trees around the villa, nice herbs garden, lovely veranda and a well equiped kitchen. We love to walk to the beach (10 minutes) in the morning and having brunch on the veranda. Karen and Ken are wonderful kind people. We loved our stay with them in the villa.

Beautiful Casita in lush garden.
This rental is outside the high rise crush of Punta del Este, nestled in the upscale neighborhood ringing downtown, quiet and elegant but close to all the restaurants and beaches Punta is famous for. Lots of room to spread out with full living room and kitchen and beautiful bathroom, great bed and lovely linens, attention to all the details. Karen and Ken are warm and helpful while leaving you ample privacy. Perfect.

Viejo Golf
This jewel box was the perfect villa for our 3 week stay in Uruguay. Charming decor, spacious, comfortable bed, large bathroom with endless hot water. A delight to wake up in this villa and a delight to come home to at the end of the day. Karen and Ken were so helpful as we planned our day trips through the countryside. They had excellent information on restaurants, sites, directions and shopping in Uruguay. We LOVED our stay with them and are thrilled to call them friends! All in all an absolute
delight.

Just Wonderful!
What a wonderful, relaxing vacation experience at Viejo Golf! My husband and I were tired when we arrived but not too tired to realize we have just entered paradise. We enjoyed days of sunshine by the pool and on the beach, wonderful hospitality from Karen and Kenny. The birds sang, the gardens blossomed with flowers and herbs. The private cottage was perfect as well with a comfortable bed, nice kitchen and surprising details that only caring owners would put in place.
Loved it!

Better than a Five Star Hotel
My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Viejo Golf. Everything described is accurate and far exceeds the description. If you are looking for a private, secluded romantic place then you have found it. The pool is inviting and the gardens and birds are so lovely. The hosts Karen and Kenny are wonderful kind people. Their villa is close to beaches, shopping, golf and restaurants. It is perfect. Very well kept and clean, well stocked with everything you need including good wifi. Our only regret was we wished we could have stayed longer. It was the perfect place.

A Lovely Stay!!
My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful 10 day stay at Viejo Golf. The whitewashed brick and terra cotta casita, lovingly built by the owners, Kenny and Karen, has been thoughtully equipped so that one can experience a "home away from home", during one's travels. The wood fired stove provided a delightful ambiance and kept us warm and comfy during the chilly July evenings in the Southern Hemispere and the king size bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped and enabled us to "dine at home" whenever we tired of going out for dinner. However, the best part of our stay was getting to know the hosts, Kenny and Karen. We had the good fortune of spending several evenings, chatting, imbibing and laughing with these two delightful souls. It was truly one of the best trips we've taken and definitely the loveliest hosts we've crossed paths with. You won't be disppointed if you decide to choose Viejo Golf.

Great Oasis
Nice and quiet guest house. Well furnished with an amazing garden and pool. The owners are very friendly and respectfull. The guess house is well located. Close to the beach (10 minute walk), to the grocery store (3 km away) and golf course (5 minute walk). We had the priviledge to enjoy a great parilla in the garden. Nadie, the owners dog, is just great. We had the chance to go to the beach with her every morning; it was a lot of fun and very entertaining. We had initially reserved for a 6 day stay and extended our stay for 3 more nights as we enjoyed the peaceful environment.

The perfect place to stay!
It is not always easy for a woman travelling alone to find the perfect place to stay, but this is it! Secluded but secure, this beautiful casita was a great get-away, where I could both work and relax. The peaceful surroundings, the private pool, and the soothing sounds of the garden were just what I needed! When I wanted something else, the beach, the golf course, and the energy of Punta del Este were close at hand. Ken and Karen have made the accommodation all one could want, as it is both elegant and cozy. Their hospitality infuses the property. I recommend it unreservedly to any single woman, like myself, and to any family or group of 2 or 3.

Delightful, Luxurious, Private & Comfortable! Great Value and Location! Thank You Karen & Kenny :)
My Wife and I highly enjoyed our stay in this quant retreat surrounded by gardens, flours and nature. We had all the privacy and romance we could have hoped for during our honeymoon weekend getaway to Punta Del Este at a price that was easy on our wallets. Karen & Kenny have just completed renovating this gem of a casita and we were just so pleased with the peace, quiet and comfort it allowed us to experience. From the modern amenities to the rustic touches, the proximity to beautiful beaches (5 min walk) to the graciousness of our hosts nearby - we will definitely be back again and tell all our friends looking for the perfect, romantic getaway at a great rate. A 5 Star Gem! Muchas Gracias :)

Perfect vacation getaway!
My husband and I enjoyed this romantic casita on a recent vacation to Uruguay. It is close enough to the beach to enjoy a short walk to the shore, but far enough back to avoid the traffic of the main roads. After the drive from Montevideo, the owners welcomed us with a big smile and a glass of wine. They have decorated it with interesting and locally made furniture, and built a private pool for the renters to enjoy, looking out over their lush garden and large covered parilla. We can't wait to go back! Perfect for a couple or a small family.
