We had a great time. The sunsets are amazingly different every night. The house is beautiful. Would definitely stay again.

This home was exactly as described. Only 10 miles from the airport and 2.5 miles from town. The infinity pool was excellent and the sunsets amazing. Sitting out in the covered lani was everyone’s favorite spot. Internet and cell service were excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay and looking for a chalet style setting this is the place. No need for AC in November for us . Located in proximity to airport 20 min away and shopping 10-15 min.

This was our 2nd time staying at this house. What a great property! We also enjoyed the little touches as well - basic spices provided, beach chairs and more. We will definitely put this house on our go to list!

Japanese inspired house with an open layout, enchanting views and refreshing dips in the infinity pool.

This was a great place and we really enjoyed it. It's noted in the listing but the pool isn't heated which would have been fine if the weather had been warmer! It's well equipped in the kitchen, bathrooms. The master suite is amazing! It was lovely to go to bed with the sound of the tree frogs and wake up to the birds. Sunsets are unparalleled here.

Let me start by saying the house worked out really great for me and my family. It was clean, the location was perfect and the view was amazing! There was also a ton of space so my kids could play around in the living room and also the beds were very comfortable. The house is on the older side, and I think could go from good to great with just a few things. For example, the master didn't have black out curtains, which as a parent trying to get some extra sleep on vacation was a bummer. Also some of the beds didn't have fitted sheets that were the right size, so they continuously got bunched up throughout the night which could easily be fixed with a few bucks. The showerhead in the master sprayed all over if you tried to adjust the angle, the drain in the tub was broken, the water on the fridge was broken, etc. None of these are a deal breaker by any means, but it would be nice if the little things were as great as the view. The other thing to mention, and they said this in the listing so it isn't anything that's their fault, but the pool is not heated. I had this vision of swimming all day with my kids, but even with low 80s during the day the pool was quite cold. I'm sure in summer it's perfect, but at least for us the temperature meant short swim sessions. It's something 100% on me for not doing a bit more research, but if you are planning on visiting in the winter and swimming all day, it will likely be too cold to comfortably do that. Overall though we had an amazing time and the location, view, check in and out, cleanliness, and lanai were great. Super grateful for our time here.

Wonderful pool. Plenty of towels etc. everything dated but eclectic we had a wonderful time.

Beautiful view and good location, Management company (Kona Coast) that oversees it is very good & responsive BUT the house is quite old… we had doors fall off rusted old hinges, the pool drained mysteriously at one point, the old hot tub is disguised as a flower bed, the kitchen is ridiculously small and hard to cook in especially with the supplies they have (9 plates that are non-microwaveable??) so we had your do dishes constantly. One large fry pan is old and not nonstick so even eggs were hard to make. While they say beach supplies are not provided we’ve always found at every vrbo that there are some - absolutely nothing here which makes me wonder bc typically previous guests leave things behind (chairs, a cooler etc). My other issue with the property is the pool, while pretty it’s ridiculously cold… virtually unusable cold. the next problem was the wifi it stopped and started and was unusable which was a constant and honestly a unnecessary problem in this day and age. We were prepared to rebook for next year but will definitely find a different place for next year.

This property is just as the pictures advertise. The view from the pool is immaculate, rooms are large, neighborhood is fantastic, property was well maintained and clean. There isn't AC and the pool isn't heated but didn't bother us during our stay. Check in/out process was simple, overall great property and host.

We loved all the doors and open feeling out to the pool. Everything was comfortable and clean. What a spectacular view and pool! We were worried because it is in a neighborhood but it was very quiet and really a great neighborhood. The walking trail a couple roads below was great!! We would love to return!

Super communicative host (kona coast vacations). The pool and views and outdoor furniture were all brilliant.
We barely went inside!

This property has an amazing infinity pool, and large Lanai area. There was a new Weber BBQ for our use also, which was awesome. The outside area is amazing and looks out over the ocean and over Kona
Upstairs is the huge master with an enormous ensuite, and 2 smaller bedrooms both with Queen beds. There is also a shared bathroom, and lounge.
The only downside is that the upstairs rooms are incredibly hot. Whilst all rooms have fans, portable small aircons would have made the world of difference (a small Dyson or the like). But otherwise a fantastic property, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for having us.

This exquisite home served our family of five adults perfectly. The proximity to beaches, historic sites, and main roadways was perfect. The property management company representatives were very responsive and answered any questions, regardless how mundane, with kindness.
We are already planning our next visit to the big island!

GREAT VIEW
The house was clean and well maintained. The pool is wonderful and the view from the pool is outstanding! We were outside enjoying the patio area much more than we were inside. Good location and easy to get around. The walking trails nearby were an added bonus. Thanks for the fun vacation!

Great Hawaii Experience
We absolutely loved the house and the location in Kona. The Ailina House provided exactly the "hawaii" look and experience that we wanted, and the patio & infiniti pool were amazing. Many hours were spent looking out over the edge of the pool at the beautiful Kona scene below.

Beautiful Kailua-Kona home
Beautiful, well-appointed home. Gorgeous ocean views from lanai and infinity pool (unheated). Neighbors pup, Morty, welcomed us and visited often to our delight. Lots of room to spread out and relax inside and out. Ate all meals on the lanai, soaking in the surroundings. Bedrooms and baths were spacious and well-appointed with Ceiling fans. Washer & dryer outside.

Ailina House
From the minute we arrived and walked in the vibe was very calm and peaceful. The whole house was a great location for the four of us busy people to unwind and decompress.
The pool and outdoor area were great, the outdoor shower a big plus and the upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and cool during the evening.
The kitchen was adequate and needed some upgrades - the ice machine in the refrigerator was not working due to a water line issue and the glass stovetop had been cracked by a previous guest. But we were on vacation, so we did not see it as too much of an issue.
The design and layout of the house was such that all rooms throughout the day and night were cool and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the rock garden and the infinity pool.
We will definitively book Ailina House in the future

Great stay
We had a great stay! We’ll located close to Magic and 2-Step beaches this was a great home base for our various adventures. We were very comfortable and the folks at the property manager’s office were very helpful. Highlights included Volcano National Park and night-diving with the mantas.

Good location
Older, Polynesian mid century vibe with a cool pool in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Good walking paths. Great sunsets.

If it's available, book it!
This was one of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen, much less stayed in. An incredibly special play with everything you could ever want. Incredible view. Gorgeous rooms. Perfect location. We want to come back to the Big Island again, carve out more days to just hang out at the house. It's a dream.

Beautiful Kona vacation home
The house was lovely, breathtaking sunsets, perfect lanai for relaxing…everything was comfortable, thoughtful gift basket upon arrival.
Our only comment would be that compared to the rest of the house, the kitchen was not as well supplied, as we had very little silverware, and the mugs and glasses looked like they came from a garage sale…I understand that a company manages the property, and they probably would have brought us more silverware and glasses had we asked. Overall, it was a wonderful experience at a great vacation house!

The property was outstanding. Clean and very comfortable with an outstanding lanai and pool. All of the guests really enjoyed the house. I would definitely book this property again

A very nice Hawaiian vacation stay, indeed.
Our small family of 4 adults and an 11 y.o. stayed at the Ailani House property in Kona between Christmas and New Year's Day. The property was awesome and totally enjoyed by us. There is a commanding view of the Kona coast overlooking the pool. All of our dining was outside. The pool, although unheated, was still enjoyed. The house was a very relaxing place to start and end our excursions. Kona Coast property management was very responsive in helping us in the one instance we needed them.

Nice piece of paradise
It was clean and very nice. The views are great and it was a wonderful oasis. Some rooms don’t look quite as big as in the pictures, which is usually the case, but it never felt small. Very relaxing. And quite a bit of amenities, with utensils and dishes and cookware and beach items, etc. There was also a good sound bar speaker to connect to so you can listen to music off your phone.

Beautiful Ailina House had and obstructed view.
We loved Ailina House itself. We loved the architecture, the fruit trees in the yard, the comfy beds, & the gorgeous lanai. Upon our arrival I would have assumed there may have been a pet with the previous party because the floors still had what appears to be pet hair. One could tell the floors had been cleaned but not well enough. The absolute bane of our Hawaiian holiday, however, was the large and unsightly Roadtech RX paving truck that appears to have been abandoned directly across the street from Ailina house. When we booked this vacation home it was largely based on the phenomenal view from the lanai and infinity pool. A view that was completely obstructed by this old rusting paving truck. No matter which angle we photographed from the truck can be seen in ALL of our photos. We called Kona Coast to voice our grievance and were told pretty much nothing could be done as the county is responsible for the vehicle. No follow up call or email was received from Kona Coast Vacations and no compensation was offered to remedy our complaint This detail should have been disclosed to us prior to booking, and should absolutely be disclosed to all future customers. The presence of that vehicle is enough for a party to opt for an alternate location with an unobstructed view.

Steer Clear of This Place
We chose this house because of the pictures posted that showed a Hawaiian style house with a nice pool and ocean view. Upon arriving, the first thing we noticed was how very dark the house was. Going into the kitchen, there was a sign posted on the refrigerator stating no ice/water. What? The wine refrigerator said "Out of Order". What? We go outside to look at the view, and smack dab in the middle of it is parked a huge RoadTec RX50 paving machine. (Neighbor said it had been there "quite awhile". There is white carpet in the living room, and it was filthy. We were overall disappointed in the entire property so far. That evening, we attempt to BBQ, but there are no outdoor lights. There is also no lights in the pool, making it impossible to swim at night. I go to take a shower, and the cold water handle falls off and hits my foot. It's broken and unusable. Next day we find the stove difficult to use as the print is worn off of the stainless steel surface. There were only 7 pillows provided for 5 guests, and there are no basic condiments (salt & pepper shakers are empty). Lanai chairs are old and uncomfortable, cushions don't fit properly. Showered in the master bath, and the shower curtain rod fell down on my head. Evidentially the glass door was removed and a curtain on a rod was placed just sitting on top of the tile wall. This house is old, dark, shabby and uncomfortable. Everything needs refreshed and replaced. Stay away.

Wonderful week on the Big Island!
Our family of four had an amazing stay at Ailina House in August. The property is spacious and has everything you could want or need for your stay. The owners/property managers were extremely responsive and helpful when we had questions. The property also came with a concierge who helped us plan some amazing and memorable excursions. Highly recommend this property for a stress free and relaxing Hawaiian vacation!

Beautiful home on Kona Coast!
Six of us (ages 18 to 54) stayed at this property in July and it was lovely. The lanai especially is stunning, with a beautiful patio and infinity pool. The house is nicely decorated and we especially loved the gardens around the house. It is very conveniently located to downtown Kona, the beaches, and only about 20-25 minutes from the airport. Hosts were very responsive to all of our questions. The only thing I would warn future renters about is the very early wakeup call by the neighborhood birds ! We of course slept with windows open and the birds start singing (loudly!) by about 5 am - Obviously not something the owners can control and not specific to this property, but just something to note if you like to sleep in. But overall would give this property a 5-star rating, beautiful home and convenient to everything!

Beautiful courtyard. Very relaxing, there was construction in front of house first day - my husband mentioned it to the manager and the equipment was removed. Peaceful ambiance, neighborhood feel vs resort. Did leave a jigger for cocktails as was one of the only things missing from well stocked kitchen.Enjoyed our stay
