OMG!!! This house is wonderful. The views, hot tub, fire pit and quietness is to die for! The view from the master bedroom is so beautiful. Words alone doesn’t do the property justice. We even got a chance to meet Wanda and Glen. They are truly amazing people. Thank you!!! I’ll be back!!!

We loved our stay at this beautiful property. The house and property were extremely well maintained. The online photos don’t do justice to how beautiful and peaceful this home is. There were a lot of thoughtful touches that let us know the owners care about the renters and their feedback. Overall 5/5.

Loved that the main bedroom had it's own bathroom but it had poor lighting. Internet service was fair. The additional porches were a plus. The firepit area was nice, the solo stove was a nice touch. Could use a set of steps to get in as it was a bit sketchy walking the whole way around in dim lighting. Overall, I would definitely stay there again!

Me and my friends had a fun get together/bachelorette at this house. The pictures do not do it justice! I highly recommend they update them, because it was way better than I expected. The views were amazing. The fire pit and hot tub were great. The house was super clean and nice. The beds were comfortable. All together it was great and exactly what we wanted! I highly recommend staying here!!

We had a wonderful time and can't thank Glen (and Wanda) enough. We loved the peace and quiet close to nature and the pristine water of the Tye River. We had an amazing time fishing, swiming, floating our week away! We would definitely stay here again!

This was out home base for our daughter’s college graduation and we couldn’t have dreamed of a better location. The house slept our family comfortably and provided beautiful mountain views as far as the eye could see. Just minutes from breweries and wineries but the best experience by far, aside from the graduation, was an early morning cup of coffee on the back porch watching all the birds, rabbits, and deer start their day.

My husband and I needed some time away from the city with our two dogs and this place could not have been more perfect. From the hot tub, to the deer, to the gorgeous sun sets and beautiful home we loved every minute and will be back! Thank you.

Great property, with a nice, quiet and relaxing location. This was our second stay and we were again, very satisfied with the house and the accommodations. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a charming getaway, with great views, firepit, hot tub and a sprawling yard.

Perfect getaway from it all vacation after military retirement. Amazing view out of the master to wake up to each morning. Exploring the river, making smores with kids, relaxing with morning coffee or in the hot tub just enjoy the views and sounds.

Property is as advertised, property was well maintained and has a home feeling. Visit was to attend a family occasion, so tome was spent away from property. however there are lots of fun to be had nearby. hiking, biking, tubing, and many wineries and craft beer breweries. would recommend and will return.

The home was a perfect spot for my family to have a peaceful break. The secluded location, along with the hot tub and fire pit, make this a great spot to unwind. The location is not too far from good eats and drinks too.

This was our second stay in the Tye River Farmhouse, and the second trip didn't disappoint. The newly-installed fire pit was delightful on cool nights. We truly appreciate being able to bring our two diva Chihuahuas. The four of us hope to return soon. Thank again for a great time.

Great Mountain Views
Beautiful House with Great Mountain Views. Huge secluded location, with plenty of options to hike around the property. Outside was kept up nicely, as was inside. Kitchen was fully stocked. Heat works very well (we had a few cold nights). Location is great for hitting breweries and wineries. My only negative comment is that you cannot see the river from the house, although you can hear it. River is short walk down the driveway. River looks good for fishing , which we had planned on doing, but weather was a little too cold . Internet and TV worked well. I worked a few days while there and internet speed was great. All in all a great place.

A Glorious Girls Weekend in Virginia!
My group of five ladies loved our stay at Tye River Farm House! We were about 30 minutes from all we needed (hikes., vineyards, food) and the quiet was just what we wanted. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, be comfortable and relax. The hot tub after hiking each day was fantastic. Watching shooting stars after sunset, watching deer grazing on the property at sunrise. Making s’mores by the fire after a big day out. The kitchen was stocked with all we needed to cook a good meal. The beds were comfortable and the views to wake up to can’t be beat. Wanda, the property manager, was quick to help with any questions we had. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer.

This is a beautiful property located within driving distance of many breweries, wineries and ciderworks. Although it was just me and my husband, this huge house and property would be great for multi-family vacations. The house was spotless, including both bathrooms, and the kitchen had all the basic cooking utensils and spices we needed. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. The TVs were all easy to use and have premium channels and access to netflix. My only complaint was the beds. They were really firm and uncomfortable, and we ended up sleeping on couches to get some relief after 2 nights of sleeping on them.

We spent 3 relaxing nights in this wonderful farmhouse. There were 7 of us altogether and it was very comfortable for all of us. We loved the privacy and the open space. Having breakfast on the porch in the cool morning while enjoying the view and fresh air was the best! We went to the brewery, walked on the Blue Ridge trail, floated on the Tye river, went blueberry picking at Seaman's and enjoyed hanging out on the property. Thank you for sharing your house with us! We hope to return.

We loved our stay - it was a perfect location to unplug and unwind. The property is pleasantly private and lovely enough that we were only inside to cook and sleep, the rest of the time was spent on the porch, in the yard and by the fire pit. It’s a 5 minute drive to the rail trail where we walked each day - if we’d brought our bikes we would have enjoyed biking it too! We highly recommend staying here for no-frills quietude and time spent enjoying the company you’re with.

restorative
Our 6 member prayer group on retreat found a welcome and beautiful place to come together. The scenery is beautiful, the farm house great with a place for each person to have their own space and yet plenty of room to come together. It was very peaceful, tranquil, and restorative. Wanda stayed on call to answer any questions and was very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Wonderful Stay!
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The property is beautiful; and even though it is incredibly private, it is super convenient to everything to do in the area. The view from the master bedroom is fantastic. We awakened Sunday morning to seven deer munching on grass at the edge of the deck. We also greatly appreciated being able to bring our fur babies. When visiting this area in the future, we hope to stay here again.

Great family space!
For cleanliness-there were many, many flies in upstairs hallway & the bedrooms, & a dead baby owl in the fireplace. (Possibly related?)
Accuracy of listing-the whirlpool tub did not work, there was no working vacuum cleaner (there was no bag in it & we could not find any) and no working internet.
All in all - we had a great time - there were 6 adults and 3 children and 2 dogs, there was plenty of room for all of us!
Wanda was great in answering when we called with questions.
We would return and recommend this farmhouse to any family that enjoys plenty of space and a quiet atmosphere!

Property is amazing
Had an amazing time getting away with the family for Thanksgiving. Really enjoyed our stay. Property is amazing, and our kids (and dog) loved running around the property playing all day! Beautiful long range views and wonderful time. Thank you.

A little time to rewind.
Spent the weekend with family from Va Tech and UVA. Very peaceful and relaxing. Had outdoor fires and just caught up on life. About 20 minute from from brewery. Really enjoyed be able to bring our pet. FYI you can bring your dog to the breweries as well if you eat outstide.

2 night stay
The property manager was quick to answer the phone and gave instructions and check in was easy. However the house is in need of some real renovations. The beds were horribly hard and the master bedroom bed was basically unsleepable. The AC only cooled the downstairs and the upstairs was terribly hot. There were cobwebs in every corner and I even walked thru one going into a bedroom. The microwave did not work. I had to scrub out the coffee pot and machine before I could use it. However the kitchen was outfitted very well with utensils, pots and pans, and dishes. There are mostly single beds in the upstairs bedrooms, except for one room with a small full, and they were bare and sparse. Sort of spooky. The TV had very few available channels and WiFi was sketchy at best. The water pressure was very low so taking a shower was difficult. I felt as though the cleaning fee was too high. On a positive note, the location was nice if you have a big group and want to play yard games and sit on the porch. The porch was lovely and the view was nice. We saw deer every morning and early evening. The house is NOT walkable to the river.

Great weekend getaway
We really enjoyed our weekend stay! Very peaceful and relaxing!

Rejoice in the Quiet Denizens of Suburbia
Upon arrival at the property, the first thing we noticed was the quiet. We had a most relaxing time sitting out on the rear porch, walking to the barn, and swimming in the river. We did some hiking, some brewery visiting, and a visit to Lynchburg. But overall, our family enjoyed staying on the property and just relaxing. It was hard to return to our daily grind.

Beautiful home on the Tye river
This is a beautiful old home right on the tye river with beautiful views all around. Easy check in/out process and owner and property mangers respond quickly to any questions. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.
