If you want to stay in South Pasadena, this property has an excellent location as so much is walkable - the train, the grocery store, lots of restaurants, the library. We appreciated also that there are a lot of spices and some condiments and that food preparation was easy. It is nice to have an office space if one is doing some work. It is a small space.

Richard was a very kind host who gave us plenty of insight into the local spots and tips getting around. The guest house was very cozy, clean and has a beautiful common area patio for getting some fresh air. It was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies and felt like a livable space. Neighborhood was also very quiet and beautiful to walk around. Would definitely come back!

We enjoyed staying in this sweet little bungalow with all the comforts of home from the lovely garden to the well equipped kitchen. The neighborhood had many vintage style bungalows that were well maintained. It was in walking distance (about 7 minutes) to several nice restaurants, the train station and a main super market. Hope to stay there again.

Awesome place! Richard and Kristin are great and friendly people. Their location makes everything pretty walkable or really close by. I highly recommend!

The owners were very personable and pleasant. The unit was behind the owner's house, so a person passing by wouldn't even know it was there, which added to a sense of security. We liked the fact that we could easily walk to some restaurants and shops. We had no problem finding parking on the street. We were glad that we went online in advance to get the parking permits and print them out so that we could just take them out of the glove box and put them on the dashboard as needed.
My suggestion would be to have a little less furniture in the house to open the space up more.

I visit SoPas often and love this neighborhood with it's quaint homes, restaurants, and shops. This cute cottage was perfect for the two of us. We just used it as a place to sleep since we were spending time with family during our entire stay. The front patio is wonderful and even though it is a shared space it felt very private and the area is surprisingly quiet at night. There is also a narrow back patio that added to the garden setting. The only downside is the tiny bathroom sink that you have to squeeze yourself into the corner to use (the kitchen sink is an alternative). We didn't get a chance to meet our hosts in person but they always responded to our messages. Thank you Kristin and Richard for sharing your cottage!

I was traveling alone for a family celebration. This property was wonderful for my needs. As family lives close by, I did not take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen, but other guests would find everything necessary to cook their meals. Grocery stores and take out restaurants are within walking distance.
Neighborhood was very quiet and their is outdoor space to enjoy.
Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They were more than happy to meet me for a late check in when my flight was delayed for 5 hours.
Overall, I would highly recommend this property, for both single travelers, or small groups (2 bedrooms).

We stayed Labor Day weekend and it was sweltering hot! We struggled to enjoy our weekend due to the crazy heat wave but the hosts did everything they could to keep us comfortable, responded quickly to all inquiries and needs. This place is very quiet and is walking distance to all the best that South Pasadena has to offer. Even though you are in a shared lot you don’t really notice that there are other people staying there. Kitchen is pretty well stocked and the bathroom, although really tiny, is clean and comfortable and there are lots of fresh clean towels. it’s a small place but actually good for a little group of up to 4 because there are lots of sleeping options and a little tiny office adjacent to the kitchen and away from sleeping areas so lots of little places for people to be in separate spaces.

Cozy and intimate
This is an adorable cottage. It is surrounded by fruit trees, secluded, yet very close to the host house. They are very accessible, we had some minor problems that were dealt with very quickly. The house itself is small, with many antique touches, yet appropriately upgraded with fast Wi-Fi, Internet TV etc. even though it is in the back of someone’s home it is very secluded and private. Very close to stores and restaurants if you need them. It is small. As noted by others the bathroom is very compact with a shower. The kitchen is phenomenally well equipped! We did not do any cooking but we could probably cook anything we wanted, as there are many many appliances. Very sweet little house.

Nice cottage in an excellent location
Stayed for several days, everything was as advertised and fit our needs perfectly. A few things to note: though we never really made use of it, there's a gated side yard that the owners said we could let our dog roam around in, which was nice. Our eldest was taking a couple classes online, and the WIFI was anywhere from great to excellent. You no longer need cash for the night permit; credit card works fine at the SPPD kiosk. Not a fan of the SPPD online system for buying the permits. Since the kiosk is only a couple blocks away and accessible 24hrs, you're better off just getting it there on the day of arrival.
Again, we had a great experience here, and will certainly look here first the next time we visit the area.

Great cottage, great location & great parrot watching!
The cottage is a charming, clean and surprisingly spacious casita! It shares a cute outdoor common area with shaded benches, a bbq, as well as a lovely garden. There is an amazing striped fig tree right outside the front entrance that we helped ourselves to before our morning walks. There is a Library at the end of the block and an additional block past that is Mission Street where you can find Coffee shops, boutiques and the Metro Gold Line train station. This is the absolute perfect location for someone who is visiting LA and does not want to drive since a quick ride on the Goldline will stop at places like Highland Park, Chinatown and Downtown LA’s Union Station! Over all it was a pleasant and relaxing experience. We especially enjoyed seeing a parrot or two in the neighborhood as well! We will definitely be returning, thank you!

A convenient South Pasadena location
We chose this property because it provided a cozy spot to stay during a visit to relatives who live nearby. It’s in a lovely neighborhood and it appears to be within walking distance of shops and restaurants. However, it rained hard the entire time that we were there, so we didn’t get the opportunity to explore on foot. It is is accurately referred to as a cottage because it is small and quaint. The rooms - especially the bathroom - are quite small, so it is probably most suitable for no more than 2 people. It’s clean and well-equipped. The owners were flexible about letting us check in quite late when our flight was delayed, which we very much appreciated. Because of the very abnormal amount of rain that was falling during this period, some leaks developed in the roof. These were dealt with very promptly and didn’t cause us any inconvenience. It was an ideal place to stay for the weekend.

Beware!
This is a very small cottage. It is in the back of the house. Even though my husband smoked outside in the patio area, never in the house, we were accused of smoking in the house and damaging curtains, lamps, etc. dogs were welcome, and we paid for them as extra people. But, when we left them inside, they were too noisy. So, the rest of the time we put them in the back bedroom. We never cooked, and I washed all sheets, towels, mattress pad. Comforter was never used and placed in drawer. We never got our deposit, and were accused of leaving "dog soaked towels, comforter, pillows and shams. The only poop was, the big dog poop from their dog in the common area. I was shocked! After all the effort to take care of this property, as we have in the past with other rentals, I am very upset. Also, FYI, you have to go to the police station to buy a tag to put on your car each night, so you will not get a ticket. You can buy only three nights worth at a time. Not for smokers, people with dogs, or people that don't want to get ripped off by the owners of the property! Also, when I removed mattress pad to wash it, I noticed dried blood on the mattress. Eeew.

Lovely and Well-Located
I brought my elderly mother to LA to visit my kids/her grandkids, and we had the nicest stay at this property! Everything about the arrangements was easy, the place is super clean, comfortable, and well-located on a South Pasadena street near a park, coffee shop, and lots of other great places.

very quiet and convenient
We enjoyed our 5 night stay in south pasadena. The bungalow was within walking distance to von's grocery store and a longer walk to trader joe's. It was a quick 3 minute walk to the south pasadena metro stop. The bungalow is in a very nice neighborhood. The bungalow's outdoor bbq area was a great addition. The owners were very pleasant and responsive. The bungalow was fully stocked with towels, dishwashing detergent and laundry soap.
Very quick metro access to Pasadena and LA. We would recommend this rental.

Perfect South Pasadena
We recently stayed in the Cottage in South Pasadena and enjoyed every moment of our time there. The owners were so friendly, warm, and accommodating. The cottage had many charming personal touches and certainly had everything a person needs to enjoy their stay. The location is fantastic and we enjoyed walking around South Pasadena and taking the metro to Pasadena to meet friends. Everything was perfect! We hope to visit many times in the future.

Beautiful cottage in South Pasadena
We had a lovely stay in the cottage which was central to everything we needed. Our family and friends were just a short drive away and the beautiful downtown area with plenty of shops and restaurants were just a short walk away. The cottage is a very clean and well maintained unit supplied with anything you might require. Kristin and Richard couldn't have been more helpful. We will definitely come and stay again and couldn't recommend it higher.
