About this cabin rental
This amazing log home is best suited for people who are active and love the the outdoors. This property is so appealing because it is in a perfect location. It is 10 minutes away from Route 93, 20 minutes to Squam Lake and if you head North, it is another short 20 minutes to all the activities the White Mountains have to offer. The log home is situated mountainside on five acres of beautiful, pristine forest with a small mountain stream and winter views of the Sandwich range. In the summer it has a cozy and magical treehouse-like feel with the woods edge coming very near to the house. Even though there are neighbors close by, you really feel like you are the only one around! It is not unusual to see a flock of wild turkeys strutting by outside a window or to see moose and deer tracks on the snow!
This home was designed by the owner who is an architectural and interior designer. Much thought was given to the way the house functions with a group of active people wanting to enjoy this amazing area! Our goal is to make your stay easy and enjoyable and to have you make happy memories with family and friends that you will remember for years to come!
As you enter the lower level from the outdoors, there is a mudroom with many hooks to hang up coats and a bench for putting on shoes. Adjacent to the mudroom, there is a huge gear room for all of your outdoor equipment. This includes a packing table, cubbies for storage, racks and pegs for skis, helmets, snowshoes, climbing equipment and backpacks. There is also plenty of floorspace for golf bags! This floor also has a large Family Room with a couch, two oversized chairs with ottomans, a flat screen TV, ping-pong table and a classic rough-sawn lumber bar with 3 bar stools.
The middle floor has an open floor plan that includes a Livingroom with a large 'L' shaped sofa and a Diningroom with a table that seats 6-8 people, all under a tall cathedral ceiling with clerestory windows. Visible from both rooms there is a very large custom designed 'real' stone wood burning fireplace with a raised bluestone hearth for sitting and enjoying the heat from the flames or drying mittens!. There is a large sliding door between the Livingroom and Diningroom to go out onto the wrap around porch with a picnic table that looks over the stream, footbridge and woods. There is an additional door in the living room that has direct access to the covered section of the porch with rocking chairs. The kitchen is open to the Livingroom and Diningroom has beautiful custom pine cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, microwave, built-in french door refrigerator, custom wine rack and an island with 4 bar stools. On this floor there is a Queen bed guest room and a guest room with 2 twin beds. There is also a full bath with a single bowl vanity with a granite countertop and tub/shower combination unit and toilet. The washer and dryer are also located on this floor in a convenient hall closet.
Upstairs there is a cozy loft with a loveseat (that pulls out to twin size bed) and classic Adirondack lounging chair with a leather ottoman. This area has a flat screen TV and bookcase with a variety of DVD's, books and trail guides. This is the perfect place to curl up with a book, watch your favorite movie or plan your next hike. This level also includes the Master Bedroom. The Master bedroom has a king sized log bed. Adjacent to this room is a small bedroom with bunk beds. It has a window that overlooks the stream and woods. The Master bathroom is located directly off the master bedroom and includes a single bowl vanity with a granite countertop, tub/shower enclosure and a separate toilet area.
Outside there is a large fire pit with benches as well as a raised log bar for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Here you will also find a Weber charcoal grille. A short walk from here you can walk across the bridge to a trail that follows the stream up the mountain. This trail connects to many trails behind our property. If you head the other direction, the horseshoe pit is a short 30 feet away.
If you decide to take a walk or jog during your stay here, you can walk to a beautiful covered bridge which is only 100 yards from the driveway. If you pass over the bridge, it will lead you by a beautiful horse farm. If you decide to continue, it's a scenic 3 mile loop back to our cabin. Perch Pond is another scenic walk/jog destination. At the bottom of our driveway go to the right and Perch Pond is 1.8 miles down on the left side of the road. This is a perfect spot to picnic, kayak or fish.
We chose to set the cabin in a rustic landscape which has uncut stone steps and walkways that may pose a challenge to people with mobility issues.

We loved staying in this house! It was very private and had wonderful extras - like high quality beds and a chefs kitchen. We loved getting up early to watch for bears (had three sightings!) and enjoyed the fireplace for cool mornings. Great place for our family to gather the weekend of my son's wedding.

Has a wonderful weekend at the cabin. It was clean, comfortable and kids loved it. We even saw a momma bear and two cubs right outside the window! Incredible!

Friends and I stayed at this house to enjoy some of norther NH golf. We loved the house and felt like that it was a great get away. Would recommend this house as a staying option for anyone.
One feedback for the house is to get a better recycling option. Having to split out all of our recycle options was a pain.

We were up for PSU college graduation. Two dogs was the perfect house for what we had in mind. Fantastic location, you never know when you see the pics online. This house was everything it was advertised as and then some . The pictures were spot on. It felt like home . I highly recommend this house. Plenty of space to accommodate us. We had 9 in our party 3 of which , children. The porch is beautiful, great exploring in the woods. The house was fully stocked and the host , got right back to us when I had a question. Given the opportunity , I would stay here again .

3 girlfriends and I brought our daughters here for the weekend. What an incredible property. The kitchen is equipped with high quality cookware, utensils, spices etc. The basement was perfect for the pre-teen girls. Fireplace gave an amazing ambiance. A few of us went to the nearby spa that you can access as part of the cabin rental - highly recommend. Great communication from Bob and Susan. Book it!!

This cabin exceeded all our expectations! It was well stocked, clean and just a beautiful place! We are a family of 8 and really enjoyed the darts and ping pong table. The fireplace was fantastic! Such a warm and cozy cabin. We hope to return next year!

This property is so pretty and comfortable. Easy for an extended trip in or for those who want to do some outdoor exploring. Super close to thing like groceries and dining, but remote enough for some relaxation. Honestly, it was the best stocked rental I've ever experienced, with anything you might need. We feel so spoiled now and will for sure be booking again in the future.

I surprised my boyfriend with this trip for his 30th birthday because we came here for his 21st and have always wanted to go back for a birthday ever since then! It is the perfect cabin, super cozy and so well kept! It truly is a perfect get away cabin if you want to just stay in with your favorite people for the weekend! We had such a fabulous time. Low key birthdays are our favorite and this place has become such a memorable place for us. Thanks for letting us come back, it was so awesome! ... Also I just want to explain the lower communication rating... I had reached out on 10/31 regarding an earlier check in so that we could have my friends arrive before my boyfriend to surprise him but I never ever received a response at all which was disappointing. Other than that everything was great!

House is beautiful and has a great stay. Just difficult to get reception on phone. Unable to call out just able to text . If looking to get off grid for a while it’s wonderful

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your tranquil home. Very private, in nature. Your home has everything we needed and close to many activities. Thank you.

The log cabin was very well maintained and decorated. It is a bit isolated (no cell phone reception inside) but is otherwise in a very nice location. We easily travelled North into the mountains or South to the lakes region.

We loved our week at Two Dogs! The cabin was so clean, and so beautiful with so many wonderful features and extras. The covered porch and fire pit were great to use. We had plenty of room and enjoyed all the adventures that we took each day. New Hampshire is a beautiful state with many things to do and we hope to return for more adventures and beauty.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Two Dogs Cabin. The location was tranquil and filled with nature. We enjoyed going to various places within Campton and putting our toes in the nearby river. The house was extremely clean and spacious, and filled with necessary amenities. There was plenty of enough dishes and pots and pans and a beautiful kitchen to cook in. Added bonus was the guest passes to Loon’s health club. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub. The ping pong table, bar and couches/tV were a great addition to the home. Overall, we loved our stay and can’t wait to return again!

We rented this amazing place for a family wedding at the nearby Owl's Nest Resort. Had a great time! The house is amazing. Private, in the woods with fully stocked kitchen, firepit, grill, etc. Had a lot of fun playing ping--pong and just hanging out. Lots to do in the area.

This place is on our rotation! We usually stay in Campton Waterville Valley Estates area which have a club house/ pond accessible to pay as a guest and is much closer to highway. But..
We wanted to try something new and glad we did. You are secluded from others and have almost everything you need on this property. Plenty of beds, the bunk room is accommodating for 2 children and adjacent to the King bedroom. Ping pong and Darts (bring darts) couldn’t find any, were played every night and walking around the area; especially to the horse farm was delightful! Although the spa is a drive away to Loon Mt. It was still beautiful and got us to get out for a a bit and enjoy one of our favorite places; One Love Brewery, ask for Alex!
There is a grocery store next to Dam brewery that we used when we didn’t go out to eat.
Also, the arcade was a nostalgic experience and good time for an hour or so.
We look forward to booking again soon!

House was absolutely perfect. We remembered the snow shoe trail you recommended a few years back and it was ideal for our group. The whole family had a great time! Thanks again Bob & Family for sharing your home.

I stayed here with family and friends for a weekend. The woodstove kept the cabin nice and toasty during the subzero weather! Bob made sure the driveway was cleared and well treated so we did not have issues getting up to the lodge. He also made sure the fire was lit before we arrived! The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately the bunk room off the master suite was really cold because it didn't have heat (did not get warm even with a space heater) and the beds are definitely meant for children; not grown adults. So if you are planning on staying here, it can comfortably sleep 6 adults and 2 children. We had fun in the finished basement playing ping pong and playing games. There is a fan that can bring heat off the stove down to the basement so it was very warm and comfortable. We took advantage of the guest pass to go to the Viaggio Spa. We did not end up using the pool and sauna area because it was very busy with children running around, but some of us did get massages and facials which was very relaxing! Overall we had a great time and wished we had more time at Two Dogs Lodge!

We had a really nice stay, location was perfect, secluded but not in the middle of no where. Cabin is about 25 minutes from Loon and Waterville for skiing. This is a nice place to stay with family or friends, it had a wonderful basement with dart board, ping pong table, seating and bar area with radiant floor heating so it didn’t feel like a basement at all, nice and warm and dry. Nice big mudroom to put all your ski gear in. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to cook. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was decorated nicely. Everything was in nice condition and well maintained. We would definitely stay again. Bunk room is really only appropriate for children.

Can’t say enough about this beautiful cabin! We have been coming to 2DL for years now and everyone in our family loves it! The owners are very accommodating and helpful, the house is extremely clean, and the decor and atmosphere are just incredible. Thank you Bob and Susan!

Two Dog Lodge was exactly as portrayed in the listing. Warm and welcoming with 2 family areas and a game room. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils to prepare meals. Great idea to not have a TV in the living room with the fireplace. Beautiful and relaxing to look out at the treetops. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay playing games, ping pong and watching movies.Thank you McCabe family!

My 4 sisters and I had a great stay. Everything was inviting and comfortable, the rental had everything we needed. Only negative was a cleaning fee was included in payment but we were still required to clean before leaving. Overall it's a beautiful home in a quiet peaceful setting

We had a great weekend! We were unclear as to wether or not we can leave our garbage. Check in binder at house led us to believe that we can and listing told us otherwise. It was no big deal at all because we just assumed we were taking it with us, so we did! The grill though is quite the mess, grates were filthy, so we just lined it with foil and called it a day. Dartboard is ruined and there were no darts, it should probably also be updated in description. None of this however Impacted our trip and I would definitely go again!!! Which is why we never reached out to the owners, we did not care, everything else was perfect!!!!

What a fantastic location located at the top of a hill, so quiet and peaceful. The lodge was very clean and there was so much room for our family. The bar and ping pong table were the focal point for our evenings, while the fireplace provided a cozy area to take a nap. Updated appliances and beautiful architecture, plus the owner was very communicative during our stay. Would happily return!

Very well kept. Great family retreat. Everything we hoped for. One retraction was the gas grill which was dirty all over. Didn’t let it hinder our experience. Overall very nice

We were very surprised to discover how difficult it was to enter into the house from the driveway.
Railings certainly would have been helpful, lack of a railing could be a liability to future renters. It would have been even better to be told ahead of time about all the stairs needed to climb to get
into the main floor.
So many trips back & forth to the car took its toll.
We understand that this is a lodge, but honestly, were taken back by so many hunting trophies in every room that frightened our grandchildren.
Also, we realize that your overhead lighting and fans are at a high elevation, but they are in need of cleaning, and should be cleaned often, especially as they hang over the dining room table and living room area.
Having a smart TV in the lower area would have made it possible to watch something.
Kitchen appeared to be well stocked, and the beds were quite comfortable. ( shades on the windows would have been a plus )
We made use of the Loon Mountain Resort, and evenings at the lodge. Overall it was a nice family get together.
