About this house rental
Coming Fall 2024: Brand New 5.5 Bedroom (plus optional 2nd crofter to add a 6th bedroom + sauna!).
Please note that we spend family time on BHI each summer and may not be able to commit to certain summer weeks being available until we finalize our extended family summer availability schedule, usually by March at which time we will show all available and unavailable weeks.
Our 5.5 bedroom house & crofter is great for two or three families (fits three families of 2+2 very comfortably). The bed configuration is:
Main 4BR House: 1. K, 2. Q, 3. T + T-Trundle, 4. T x 2,
Crofter: Q plus loft w/T x 2
If you are a multi-family group, the crofter (with a Queen plus a loft with two Twins) is great for a family with two kids that wants to both be with the group but also some privacy - it has a full bath, dorm fridge, microwave & coffee pot (ladder access loft in crofter, so loft is not for the very little ones).
We have a 2nd Crofter with a separate lock out as an optional add-on for larger groups. With this add-on it is 6.5 bedrooms, sleeps 14 in beds. Ask for details!
For those who enjoy a meal at home, there is plenty of seating for all and our galley-style kitchen is fully appointed with everything you'll need to make a memorable meal, complete with an unforgetable view.
Hop on one of our two new Onward Club Car golf carts, both with high speed motors. (They will go 25+ MPH so please do not exceed the 18MPH BHI speed limit!) We spend time on the beach Every Single Day on BHI, and enjoy the open air golf cart ride there and back immensely BUT we also have the best of both worlds because we come home to the amazing and ever changing tapestry - that awesome Creek View. We think of it as an incredible live painting that changes every day.
We enjoy watching Egrets, Ibis and Osprey from inside the house or while sitting in the expansive screened porch. We watch our kids fish, crab, cast net, kayak and swim right out front daily. And what a treat to watch our 10 year old son dash straight out to the dock every morning for an hour or more barely remembering the existence of TV or video games.
We can walk left on the boardwalk out front and we are at the boat launch in about 2 minutes. Alternately we go the other way on the boardwalk with our first cup of coffee in hand every morning for an amazing and inspiring 10 minute creek view board-'walk'.
And, with easy access to the floating dock you can bring or rent your boat! Or, enjoy a paddle on the creek by canoe, SUP or kayak, all rentable on island (an absolute favorite activity for our whole family).
Come enjoy our family home on the creek, we think you will love it as much as we do!

We have stayed at various properties on BHI with our family. This was by far our favorite. The location is perfect - walking distance to shopping and ferry and backs up to the gorgeous marsh. The property is spacious and clean and had everything we needed for our week in Bald Head. Wonderful memories made!

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this home! All communication with the owner/property manager before our arrival was thorough and timely. When we arrived, we had an issue with the heat in the crofter. With one phone call to the owner, an electrician was onsite in 20 minutes and fixed the problem without issue. The house is clean and spacious, the dock on the marsh was perfect for a late afternoon cocktail (the public dock is not far away, and easy if you want to pull kayak or canoe - we didn't due to weather). Because the house is so close to the harbour, it was very easy to go between house and ferry, so that the tram was not needed. Big win! I understand the house will be off the rental market for some time as it undergoes some renovation/modernization -- as soon as it is available, you should rent it!!

Wonderful Home Away from Home

We loved kayaking, fishing and crabbing off the dock in the mornings/evenings and then taking a short golf cart ride to the beach for the afternoons. Great memories were made with our family of 12!

The property was perfect for three families including 5 teens. We could easily access all of the island thanks to the 2 golf carts. The creek access was an added bonus. The open kitchen is large and well equipped allowing “team” cooking and simultaneous cocktail preparation after a busy day.

What a fantastic 2 week-stay we had! Lovely house with an incredibly well-stocked kitchen, which was appreciated by the several cooks we have in the family. At one point, we had 12 people staying in the house, and all were comfortable. The only downside I would say is that the house comes with golf cart space for only 8, so if you have more than that, you need to rely on bikes - or borrow a cart from a friend down there, which is what we did. Other than that, we had access to incredible kayaking/canoeing, great beach chairs and umbrellas and towels, crabbing and fishing, wonderful creek views, and we were walking distance (.5 mile) to the Harbor and all of the shops/restaurants there. The owner was very responsive to all of our needs, and really seemed to care that we had a good and relaxing time. We would absolutely stay there again and I highly recommend it!

We had a great vacation with the family at this wonderful home. Canoed, rode bikes & just relaxed & took in the beautiful view out the back yard. We would definitely rent here again! The whole family had a terrific time. It’s a well appointed house with the need to bring very little when you come!

We were visiting Bald Head to celebrate my birthday and Easter with a larger than usual group of travelers. My group filled up the house and had a great time in doing so.
My wife and I have stayed all over the island and this is certainly one of our favorite spots. It's convenient for most things and having dock access to the marsh, along with kayaks and a canoe made it impossible to experience a couple of trips in them.
The owner sent many helpful emails before our arrival to let us know about events happening on the island and alerting us to a possible delay with the ferry schedule on our day of arrival.
We travel to BHI twice a year, and the next time we need this much space we'll look to stay here again.

We were visiting Bald Head to celebrate my birthday and Easter with a larger than usual group of travelers. My group filled up the house and had a great time in doing so.

Great House, Great First Visit
This was our family's first visit to BHI and we loved it! A significant part of our enjoyment was directly related to this outstanding rental house. Spacious, beautiful and equipped with everything we wanted and more. The owners were attentive, responsive, and went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best it could be. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy all that BHI has to offer.

Best Stay at Bald Head!
My family and I have vacationed at Bald Head Island since 2001 and we have stayed everywhere...on the beach, in the forest, and on the golf course. This home has them all beat by a mile! The home is beautifully decorated and spacious with a large kitchen, and a huge screened in porch. It is located on the creek which allows the family to fish and crab and kayak - all things that we never were able to do before. We find the location to be ideal as you are close to the harbor and not far from the market or the beach. Best of all, the owners go out of their way to make sure that your stay is perfect. This home is truly the best place to stay at Bald Head Island.

Simply awesome!
Weather: Going to Bald Head Island this early in the season had us doubting the ability to fully enjoy the beach as we love to sun bathe and the temps were only in the mid-70's. We left tan (and a little burnt) and will say it was a much better experience than sitting in 90+ degree sun. the ability to open the windows, enjoy the sea breeze, and keep the house in the low 70's was wonderful. Needless-to-say, we have a new found love for the early beach season!
Home: The pictures do not do any justice to this gorgeous home. All other beach homes we have every stayed in were always decorated in a "cheesy" beach style. Not this one, it was true southern, coastal style. The kitchen is very well stocked with every utensil imaginable down to bar mixing tools. When at the house, we spent most of our time on the huge screened-in porch reading books or just enjoying the view with good conversation. The living area has plenty of comfortable seating space and even a musical keyboard for someone inclined to entertain. The second floor balcony oversees the creeks and we were fortunate to see hundreds on big, long-billed birds swirl around during the evenings for a truly breath-taking event!
Other Amenities:
The owners have thought of every detail, we never once said, "I wish we had this." With 3 kayaks and a canoe, it would be hard for someone to be left out of a trip on the water. The golf carts are top notch (I say that as we have experienced some not-so-good ones on the island and can go under-appreciated if one hasn't experienced it) and the 5 bikes are very well maintained. There are plenty of beach chairs, folding lawn chairs, beach umbrella, and even surf rod holders (which came in hand for me).

Beautiful House!
They say the next best thing to having a beach house is having good friends that do! Bald Head Island has been our vacation spot for 10 years. We have been extremely fortunate to stay in this wonderful house on the creek. The views are incredible, the house is beautiful inside and out and the owners are an amazing family that truly love Bald Head Island. The kitchen has everything you need and there is plenty of room in the main house and room for 4 more in the lovely crofter. You can enjoy the gas grill out on the back deck and the brand new golf carts will get you to and from the grocery store just a little bit quicker than most! When you want a slower pace during the day you can take out the new kayaks and enjoy the creek. You might just get a glimpse of a dolphin.
The most memorable moments you'll have will be sitting on the screened in porch with a cup of coffee or wine looking out onto the creek-with your good friends!
