Location, amities, friendly host, security,
The strong fragrance in the room, the choice of a flatter pillow, not knowing there were multiple cats in the residence.

STAY AWAY IF YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER ARE ALLERGIC TO CATS!!
The property details do not say she has cats. It was only after reading the reviews that I found out the owner had cats. I tried to cancel my reservations because my wife is highly allergic to them. She denied my request and even denied Booking.com when they asked her to make an exception due to my wife's allergies. I even sent her an email explaining this and she assured me that her cats were not allowed in the rooms. So since she wouldn't refund our money and we didn't want to lose $272.56 for a two-day stay, we decided to go anyway. (We were there for a good friend's wedding.). Upon entering the house, everything seemed clean but it had a strong odor of cat urine and there were clumps of cat hair on the stairs and even flies all over the front door. Our room also had hair on the dresser and the carpet.
Long story short, we only stayed one night because the urine smell was awful, and my wife couldn't breathe. We ended up getting a hotel room for our 2nd night. I feel she should have refunded our money because it was not disclosed in the property details she owned cats. Oh and one last thing, she will probably state that her cats are "hypoallergenic" which they might be but ALL cats have dander which is what causes allergies!!!

Friendly host. Location was good for our purpose. Quiet.
Air conditioning was house-wide. Our upper floor rooms were uncomfortably hot (on the hottest day of the year). Alexa technology has a learning curve, and the presence of an always-on listening device in a lodging is unnecessary and was uncomfortable.

I did not like anything. It is a total rip-off for $140 a night and it is clearly cheating to call a run-down upstairs bedroom "Hampton House", which is misleading, as it refers to a well known hotel chain. Thank you however for having at least some sheets in the closed which I found in the hallway, so that I could chance the dirty sheets an a pillowcase in the bed. I trusted Booking-Com to exclude offers like this from their pages , which will only be booked when people mistake the place for a hotel.
I could not get in and had to call the cell number provided with the booking to get the door code. Apparently the host had written an E-mail, but I had not received it. The sheets in the bed were not clean, I found hair, which may have been cat hair, as there were also residue of cat nails. There was no sink in the bathroom upstairs. However, there was a bathdoom downstairs, but it had no door. If the bathroom is in a middle of "remodeling" the host said on the phone, however, this should have qualified for a significant reduction of the price of $140, which corresponds to a three-star-hotel. There was no Wi-Fi: I was told there was, but this was not the case. It is intentionally misleading to call the family house "Hampton House", as anyone will be thinking of the hotel chain Hampton. I can just advise anybode to stay away form this rip-off!
