A Serene Getaway in Todos Santos, Mexico
Nestled just outside of Todos Santos, Mexico, this rental property is a gem for anyone seeking a blend of tranquility and adventure. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the stunning beaches, where the sight of active whales added an element of awe to the serene landscape. Nature enthusiasts would be thrilled by the unique experience of a turtle release, a rare opportunity to engage closely with local wildlife.
The property boasts a beautifully designed deck that offers breathtaking views, perfect for those quiet mornings or romantic sunsets. It’s evident that the owners have put thought into ensuring the rental has everything one could need, making it feel like a home away from home.
Gastronomy is another highlight here, with amazing restaurants just a stone’s throw away. Each meal was an adventure in itself, exploring the rich flavors of Mexican cuisine.
A day trip to La Paz, just an hour away, added variety to the trip, allowing us to experience the vibrancy of a larger city while still being able to retreat to the tranquility of Todos Santos.
In summary, this rental property is an idyllic escape for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Mexico, complete with modern comforts and close proximity to culinary delights and urban exploration. Whether it’s watching majestic whales, participating in conservation, or just unwinding on a beautiful deck, this place has it all.

One of the best locations in all of Todos Santos! Private. Excellent access to the beach! You might not want to leave. We enjoyed a well equipped kitchen and access to local farm fresh produce and seafood.
Our host was friendly and accommodating to our needs.

Mark was the perfect host. He showed us around and took us fishing. Told us about the best places to eat. The view was incredible. Going to bed and waking up with the ocean waves crashing was so relaxing. The beach hardly had anyone on it.Todos Santos is a wonderful place to visit. It was hard to leave.

Beach house with a private upstairs space including bedroom (king bed), kitchen, bath and living area. The outdoor patio space is huge, ALL of it looking out onto the beach and Pacific Ocean. Close to Todos, markets and restaurants. Would definitely go again!

Mark's home gives an unbelievable front and center 180 degree view of the ocean with whales, dolphins, turtles. You can walk out the back door and be on the beach. Usually there's no one for 200 yds in either direction. We enjoyed Todos Santos, especially the food recommendations from Mark, but we ended up spending most of our time just enjoying the balcony views and beach walks right from our place. Just what my wife wanted!

Fine condition, some nice touches, comfortable bed and chairs, helpful host. A briliant outlook over the ocean watching grey and humpback whales pass by, and some good birdlife around. Not troubled by any construction noise. It was a cold spell and being glazed and by the sea it was often cold for us, palapas stoppng the sun from warming it, but in the norm that shade on the extensive patios would be welcome. We'll remember the place fondly.

There is a million dollar view of the beach and ocean as well as some mountains. The terrace is large and wonderful for whale watching. Near several restaurants and 5 minutes to town. Mark was very helpful and managed to get us fresh fish right off the boat. A lovely stay.

This place is everything that’s advertised. We stayed for 5 days to watch whales, see baby sea turtles, eat incredible food, and enjoy an overall relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. Todos Santos and Mark’s hospitality create a unique, affordable, and welcoming environment. We will be returning.

Sunsets! Sunsets! Sunsets!
We spent 3 nights and had 3 amazing sunsets with a million dollar view. Mark took care of our every need and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our visit. Mark is an expert in fishing and was very kind to take my husband surf cast fishing while we were there. He is willing to engage in a healthy conversation or leave you to your privacy if desired. We would stay here again when we return to Todos Santos. Thank you Mark!

Wedding in Todos Santos
My wife & I chose to stay at Mark's property due to the outstanding view of the Pacific Ocean and the central location to our friends wedding festivities.
Check in was very easy and Mark was so accommodating to our ever changing arrival plans. Thank You Mark!!
Mark's home is so close to the ocean that you fall asleep and wake up to the sound of water & waves. Very private location as there are no neighbors on either side of Mark's property. Very clean and inviting home. Some of the softest bath towels that my wife and I have ever experienced while on vacation! We were even lucky enough to see a couple of whales from our balcony just like Mark promises! We can't wait to come back again.
Outstanding property Mark!! Thank You for the hospitality!!

Excellent Stay
Mark was an excellent host. He was very communicative and receptive. The description of the property and location can only be summarized as excellent. If you want relaxation and quiet this is the spot. The views are breathtaking. I took my binoculars as recommended by another person that stayed and what a great recommendation. Whales went by at least twice a day. The sunrise and sunset from the property was excellent. We tried to stay an extra 3 nights, but the property was booked. The kitchen was adequate, but we never cooked a full meal as we went out to breakfast and lunch / dinner the entire stay. Todos Santos and Marks place is the perfect spot for relaxation. And the PRO of not having a TV was great and no CONS we can come up with. We would be returning to Todos Santos and to Marks place. Thanks, Mark, for a great stay.

Wonderful location!
Pros: Beautiful balcony- probably the best in Todos. Great locations just outside town on the a very quiet beach. Lovely to watch the whales.
Cons: No TV, not a true one bedroom as listed, it is a Studio. Went fishing with Mark and while we were grateful for the unique experience we did not appreciate him speaking about right wing American politics the entire day. Even after trying to change the subject repeatedly, he did not stop. This was awkward given our views did not align and I came on vacation to unplug from those types of things. We still managed to have an amazing day but for others this might not be the case.
Overall we had an amazing time and the accommodation was beautiful and convenient.

Perfect winter get away
This is a lovely Casita on the second floor of a main house. The views from the large verandas are unparalleled in every direction. We spent hours whale watching (bring binoculars), walking the beach and enjoying the soft breezes. The house is well equipped if you prefer eating in. We like sampling the local cuisine so we didn't cook. Mark is a very responsive host who also respects your privacy. In the future we'll be more pro-active about exploring swimming and snorkeling in the area. This time we just rested deeply and this was the perfect place for that.

The decks overlook both the Ocean and Mountains. Sunrise in the morning, moon at night all spectacular from the 2 decks. Great place for meditation, relaxation and walks on the beach.

Peaceful Romantic Getaway with Nature
We enjoyed our stay at Whale Inn. In Todos Santos. This small town is a very quiet town compared to Cabo, and for us we enjoyed the calmness. There are a lot of art galleries to visit and great restaurants to eat at if you do not want to cook.
The views from our suite is absolutely gorgeous. The location is about 15 minutes from the downtown of Todos Santos.
Mark is a very friendly host and has been available anytime when we had a question. Mark had checked on us several times to see if we needed anything.
We do suggest that if you rent a car, that a SUV would be ideal in traveling thru any small towns and in Mexico.
We plan on returning again to this Whale Inn in the future.
We stayed during February to enjoy the migration of whale season. We saw so many Whales that were migrating from the north to the south from our balcony. God’s beauty really came out during our stay at Whale Innz.

Whale View Inn sits right on the elevated sand ridge at the ocean's edge--we are ruined for whale watching at any other location. It was rare to look out to sea and not find a whale spout or breach, and usually, you'd see half a dozen simultaneously, many in the waves forming closest to shore. So special! We absolutely loved the sound of the waves, and the haunting wind and rain on the few stormy nights. So cozy!Whale view Inn is a beautiful home filled with light from big windows on all sides of the house. The size was perfect for 2 people. We didn't cook much in the kitchen, but it was well equipped to whip up some gourmet meals. The bathroom was lovely with a sizable walk in shower. Hands down, the highlight of our stay was the huge patio with very comfortable furniture overlooking the greatest show on earth! The view of the beach and ocean was simply captivating, and it would have been easy to plant ourselves in those chairs and not leave, but Todos Santos beckoned. We hiked 96 miles in 18 days exploring the hills, farms and beaches around town. Always nice to burn a few calories to somewhat excuse the amazing meals and drinks we were consuming. We tried to hit as many restaurants as possible during our stay, but this town has so many to offer, we maybe dined at 1/4 of them. Another highlight was checking out the myriad of art galleries. After travelling mainland Mexico extensively over the years, this was our first trip to the Baja, and honestly, we can't wait to get back. We are already planning next November's trip. We usually don't rent a car, but Todos Santos and its attractions are fairly spread out, and I feel it would be disappointing not having a car here.During the planning stages of this trip, Mark was very quick to respond to all emails and questions. The morning we were to arrive, he contacted us to see what time to expect us. We were already in town and asked about the possibility of checking in several hours early, and Mark happily accommodated our request. He met us as we pulled in the drive, and spent an hour or so giving us the tour and making great suggestions on places to eat and things to do during our stay. A landlord living downstairs could be problematic, but Mark always respected our privacy by announcing himself from the foot of the stairs and waiting for the thumbs up to come upstairs. We felt that our apartment was our own private haven. It was definitely a 5 star stay!

A fresh gem
One couldn't get a more expansive, peaceful vista than Mark's place. Whale View Inn is wonderful, with a sparsely populated, long, clean beach on which to walk, run and just sit, the ocean breeze refreshing the air, and the turtle hatchery nearby... not to mention that we saw numerous whales breaching, flukes and fins slapping even late in the season. Great bird life, too. We spent a lot of time writing and reading on the generous patio space, which is both covered and uncovered, protected when the breeze is a bit cool, and shady when the sun is too hot. We loved our deeply relaxing stay. Mark was a very kind and solicitous host while also being unobtrusive and quiet. The bed, firmer than our own, surprised me at how comfortable it was. The kitchen had a supply of very good pots and pans, and Mark took note of my suggestion for a few smaller mixing bowls and food containers, if one were wanting to bother with cooking. A perfect spot for two people wanting a quiet retreat.
In short -- don't come here! We're greedy and want it all to ourselves!! Just kidding! KP

True getaway
Mark was a gracious host and provided us with all the info we could want on local activities. The house was beautiful as pictured in the online photos, although we were a bit disappointed to realize the set up is more of a studio without a separate bedroom.
The kitchen was well equipped to do the cooking we wanted to with good quality cookware and a gas stove which we prefer but no microwave to heat up any leftovers we brought home from eating out.
There's plenty to see in Todos Santos to satisfy a couple of day trips and we especially enjoyed mark's suggestion to eat at Los Adobes, a hidden gem tucked away against a beautiful succulent garden.
Probably or biggest issue with the location that we should have realized before booking is that with the western exposure there's really no place to escape the sun in the afternoon and evening except for going inside.
All in all, we loved staying here with the virtually private expanse of ocean and miles of beach to walk in both directions. The crashing waves were wonderful to fall asleep to and the temperature at night was perfect for sleeping.

The Pacific Ocean and the Sierra de la Laguna from your morning coffee spot!!!
Mark is a wonderful host and his home is beautiful with views that cannot be beat. We woke every morning to have coffee and take in the view. A great spot to do YOGA, or just watch whales travel by, listen to the waves crash or take in the Sierra's (One of my favorites) this is the perfect spot. The house is beautiful comfortable and clean and has what you need for a great stay. We love the location as you are out of town so its peaceful, yet just a short drive to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping...
We will definitely be back. Thanks Mark.

Best view in town. On the beach!
There is no place in Todos Santos with a better view than the Whale View Inn. Clean, spacious accommodations. Huge patio right off the 2nd floor bedroom that affords a spectacular view of the ocean for 180 degrees. Whales going by every ten minutes. 100 yards to the beach. 5 minute drive to town. Helpful owner on site. We'll be back.

Great Couples Getaway
My wife and I just got back from a great stay at Mark's Whale View Inn. We only stayed there 3 nights/ 4 days but we wish we stayed there much longer. The house was very comfortable and the views were spectacular. I spent every morning fishing with Mark off of the beach where I hooked 2 rooster fish due to Mark's great advice. While I fished my wife would take a nice walk along the beach where the sand was perfect and the crowds were minimal (i.e. maybe 1-2 other people on the entire beach). In the afternoon my wife and I would hang out on the porch and soak in the beautiful views with maybe a siesta and cold beer. Then in the evenings we would watch the sunset from the porch followed by a great dinner from one of the many options in Todos Santos.
I highly recommend staying at the Whale View Inn. Especially if you like spectacular views, fun fishing, great food, nice walks on the beach, and comfortable accommodations.

A Week In Paradise
My husband and I just returned from a week in Mark's wonderful rental. The space is beautifully appointed, with a sparkling kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and a cozy living area. But the most spectacular aspect of the property is the spacious deck overlooking an ocean that is just steps away. We spent countless hours on that deck reading, listening to the waves, and looking for sea life through our binoculars. We saw fish leaping into the air, a school of dolphins surfing in the waves, and witnessed baby sea turtle releases just down the beach from the property. We were lulled to sleep nightly by the sound of the crashing waves. The kitchen gave us many dining options, and we shopped locally for fresh produce, home-made tortillas, and smoked fish, for creating simple meals at home. Mark gave us wonderful suggestions for dining in town, though, and every meal was better than the next. Mark is an avid fisherman, and he gave my husband some valuable insights into the fishing protocol of the area. One night Mark even graciously shared with us a meal of some freshly caught fish that he grilled beautifully. He gave us some spot-on directions to a couple of destinations that we wanted to hit on our way back to the Cabo airport, which saved us from our usual fate of getting massively lost. All I can say about our stay in this beautiful property is "Dios Mio, que perfecto!". We will be returning, and the sooner, the better!

Perfect beachfront retreat
My wife and I pored over almost every vacation rental in Todos Santos and finally booked the Whale View Inn. We hit the jackpot! This completely equipped second floor apartment stands alone directly on the beach with no neighbors on either side. There are expansive private decks and a covered patio with uninterrupted ocean views in either direction. The privacy is wonderful!
Mark, the owner, is very friendly and helpful with advice and local recommendations, but does not intrude. BTW he is an avid angler and knows the best markets and restaurants in the area. Despite the seclusion, it is only a few minute drive to town and markets. We loved every minute of our stay and guarantee that you will not regret choosing Whale View Inn. But just to be sure, we drove around and looked at the other places we searched on line, and Whale View just had no equal for privacy, beach access and views! We will definitely be returning!

Paradise
My husband and I just returned from a week at The Whale View Inn. We went down to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday! Just a quiet getaway for the two of us. It was more amazing than I could have imagined! Mark was a very gracious and hospitable host. His knowledge and insight of the area, translations and community helped us get around with very little spanish and gave us important information on where to go and what to do so as not to be taken advantage of. This was priceless and guaranteed a stress-free, relaxing vacation. The property is stunning and the 365 degree views are breathtaking. The overall charm and warmth of the Todos Santos community will keep us going back. The Whale View Inn stands true to its name as we watched whales and bat rays from the deck almost daily. It is just outside of the downtown area and a short (10 min or so) drive to Cerritos beach for surfing, swimming, body boarding, etc. There are 3 organic produce stands just down the road and a couple of small markets on the way as well. Mark's recommendations for dinner truly hit the mark as well. I don't have a single thing negative to say about Mark, The Whale View Inn or Todos Santos only that it is a place everyone will fall in love with and never want to leave. Thank you again Mark! It was exactly what the doctor ordered! My husband and I definitely recommend The Whale View Inn to anyone looking to either just relax, take in a little culture & local art, great food, long walks on the beach or surfing/water adventures. You will not be disappointed.

Outstanding Place. Incredible Property
My Wife and I stayed in this property over a long weekend in Baja. The property is an amazing place that is extremely well built and was spotless when we arrived. The owner greeted us when we arrived and made sure to give us a quick tour of the town. Todos Santos is an hour removed from the bustle of Cabo making it ideal for a low key, relaxed getaway. Even on a holiday weekend the beach in front of the property was nearly deserted. We used the Jeep we had rented to get to a couple of the beaches and hilltops around the area and had so much incredible beauty all too ourselves. This property was way above our expectations. it will certainly be a repeat in the future.

Amazing!
We had such a wonderful stay here for 9 days. Mark was available for questions and even set up a fishing trip for us with local fishermen but did not intrude or invade our privacy. Whale View Inn is a beautiful home with all the amenities you need. We spent hours on the patio watching countless whale pods pass by and ventured down the beach to release turtle hatchlings. The home and beach are very private with minimal tourist or even local traffic while being close enough to town to get supplies, go out to eat, etc. We would highly recommend the Whale View Inn and hope to return in the near future!

Sunshine, Serenity and So Much Fun!
My husband and I stayed at the whale view inn for 5 days in March 2015 and the description listed doesn't even close to describe how amazing it is. First of all , upon our arrival in late afternoon we were greeted with a magical sighting of frolicking whales playing in their water wonderland. It was truly amazing how close to shore they were. The beaches were mesmerizing and the fish were jumping and asking to be caught.
The desert landscaped grounds are beautiful and the house is charming and friendly with so many unique touches to the details throughout.
The casita for two was private and has a separate entrance with the absolute best views on the entire property. A sprawling wrap around deck allows you to privately sun bathe, view the sea life and allows you to get lost in the beauty of the magnificent daily sunrise and sunsets. The casita is amply stocked for 2 with a quaint kitchen and dining area, nice king size bed and lots of open air windows allowing you to listen to the waves crashing on the beach throughout the day and night.
Leaving was heartbreaking and staying at this property truly keeps you wanting more!
Perfect for couples and singles who want a quiet, private and magical retreat.
Mark was a gracious and informative host and we found him to be so much fun, we feel we have found a friend for life! Whether you are looking for a fishing trip, a quiet weekend away, an artist retreat or a fun get away, the whale view inn is the place to stay.
The accommodations are beachfront and literally 62 steps in the sand to the water. This location makes the price unheard of for this beach front experience and you are moments to downtown Todos Santos with fine dining, art galleries, shopping and the famous Hotel California.
Thanks Mark...see you in June!

Amazing views, amazing whales
Fantastic spot for 2, just off the beaten track from Todos Santos. Stunning views up and down the coast, and it ended up being impossible to keep track of how many pods of Humpbacks we saw. Go into town for meals, supplies and shopping, but spend your time here out on the deck! If you've ever wanted to truly disconnect, this is your place.
Mark went out of his way to help us with some rather weird tasks involving the rental car, and was an amazing host. He's well informed and connected in Todos Santos, and has plenty of great recommendations regarding what to see, where to eat, etc.
We'll come back someday. Highly recommended!

A getaway if you really want to get away
We spent three nights at Whale View Inn, and highly recommend it as a first stop on a Baja vacation. Removed by a few miles from town, WVI's second-floor deck and easy beach access let us enjoy the view, the whales and the sunset from the comfort and proximity of our home but with a romantic sense of separation from ... everything.
The accommodations are lovely, and Mark was a very helpful host. Thank you, Mark!
