LOCATION:
The Lodge is situated just off the very center of the Sonoma Valley floor, at the mouth of a granite canyon that becomes Sugar Loaf State Park. The outdoor splendor merges with the indoors as endless windows bifold to open completely to the great outdoors. Secluded and picturesque, with views to the forested peaks of the surrounding state park, this estate is just minutes from the best wineries: Kenwood, Chateau St Jean, Landmark, and Kunde. Art Deco antiques abound with an informal 'feet up' level of comfort and ease throughout. Auto-start generator for seamless management of any rare power outage. The pool can be heated; fees apply. *Please note in the rainy season (typically November-March/April) outdoor cushions are stored.
HIGHLIGHTS:
A memorable gathering place is the outdoor fire pit under a 150-foot tall fir tree with an adjacent 18-foot slab table. At sunset, the hills of the state park radiate an unforgettable russet, an amazing display of pastels fills the sky, a choir of songbirds heralds the setting sun, and the wine tastes even better... When outdoor temperatures drop, there is radiant heat (under the oak flooring) ensuring comfort in the high-ceilinged spaces. Idyllic in the summer, the house is uniquely fabulous in the winter, spring, and fall because of the great room and its massive fireplace. Even rainy, cool days are a delight with friends or family gathering in the 20-foot tall Great Room, with the fireplace at one end and cooking in the extensive professional kitchen at the other end. When the rainy season starts, the nearby creek swells and rushes by to the valley floor. It can sound like Niagara Falls is across the way; truly delightful. Art Deco antiques abound with an informal 'feet up' level of comfort and ease throughout.

Our entire vacation was amazing! The property and its management delivered on all of its promises! We highly recommend this beautiful home and its attentive team.

Great gem and great support. Loved the chef and the house. Inside outside delight. Only thing that could be improved is the beds!

The house was excellent. We stayed there with 5 couples to spend 4 nights and visit wineries throughout the area. We had Chef Kelly with us for 2 nights and the food was excellent. Nathaniel from DBL was our guide and driver for the wineries and we had a blast with him. The house had plenty of wine and food storage and the 5 bedrooms were perfect for the group. The main living area was a great place to hang out, drink some wine, watch Chef Kelly work his magic and listen to some music. We would absolutely stay here again.

I hosted an intimate women's retreat here, and I highly recommend this beautiful property. We were surrounded by gorgeous trees (with views of the trees from the living room), the house was spacious and lovingly decorated and the management was welcoming and easy to work with.

Great stay in Kenwood. Overall the property was awesome, with just a few little things that were sub par. Beds were super comfy, pool was great, outdoor fire area was perfect. The shower heads could use a little love - the one in the primary bedroom was so big the arm couldn't hold it up no matter how hard I tried to secure it, so you had to squat down to wet your head. Water pressure was poor, but that's probably just how it is with well water. The well water was delicious though, right out of the tap. The all-white living room space was a little unnerving for wine country and kids, but we just tried to avoid it and hang outside mostly. Communication with the managers was excellent.

Working with this incredible team to plan the best girls trip was simply amazing. Every detail from transportation to guests welcome gifts to winery visits to the groceries in the fridge was perfect!!! Trip of a lifetime and I can't thank Nathaniel, Sarah and the entire Blair Splanger team more.

I rentre this property to celebrate a milestone birthday for my wife and some friends and had our best vrbo experience to date. The concierge service was very responsive, the private chef created an unforgettable dinner, and the house was just beautiful with great amenities.

We were 5 couples celebrating a friend’s birthday and we couldn’t have picked a more fantastic home! The house is beautifully decorated and has every amenity you could possibly need. The heated pool was such a luxury! Definitely take advantage of the amazing concierge services. We had Chef Todd prepare a special meal, paired wine tasting and a cheese tasting at the house. Nothing but the best. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is secluded, large and very well appointed. The staff was very responsive to all our needs. The living spaces are very spacious and inviting. the outdoors is beautiful and screams relaxation. Overall I would say it is a 4.5 star property. I am subtracting .5 stars for a few negatives that I will list below ...
1. The pool is not inviting. The water cools dark and dirty (which its not, but the color of the pool base is probably a dirty brown or green.
2. The upstairs rooms felt stuffy at night. Definitely need fans which they provided when we asked for them.
3. There is just one TV in this huge home.
Definitely a lovely place to getaway. Highly recommend, though it is very expensive but of course allows your group privacy.

This house was the perfect getaway for our family of four adults and three kids. We especially enjoyed the “second” living room for games and relaxing. The concierge staff was always available and super helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Graduation celebration with 3 families. Beautiful, relaxing spot a short drive in the mountains from Kenwood. Plenty of great spots to relax on the property and the house is well appointed and beautiful. The group at Blair Spangler was super-helpful with planning a memorable week!

This *brand new* house is spectacular in its design and finishing touches! We had a great stay with a small group and enjoyed cooking, playing games, hanging by fire with glasses of wine. Blair and her team are fantastic, very responsive and open to suggestions about the house. The kitchen is to die for and has everything you could want and more. We had Chef Kel cook for us on our first night. He is as amazing as his food. Highly recommend!

A rare find in the californian wine country. Dramatic setting, house plan is so luxurious and user friendly. The enormous fireplace in the great room is such a treat. we so enjoyed congregating around this unique feature. The room itself is extraordinary - solid stone walls and floors. The radiant heat made it ever so comfortable, even in the coolness of late fall. The kitchen is larger than the pictures on the web site reveal, and more comfortable. Bedrooms are beautifully designed. Cannot recommend this home enough. Location is perfect, in center of Sonoma wine country. Setting is quite impressive. Exterior fire pit is fun. Loved the steam shower and hot tub. Nice to have full complement of exercise equipment.

The common areas of this home are indeed gracious, though not particularly clean.
The bedrooms are not as advertised, and lack basics like working reading lights.
The master bedroom is lovely. The second upstairs room is overflowing with exercise equipment, and has only a convertible. Downstairs there is one bedroom with a double bed, and a den with adouble tucked into an alcove. The cottage is another double.
The house is comfortable for two couples and children, not three or four couples.

Beautiful and spacious house, with wonderful features
- as advertised - that made our stay comfortable and
fun. We accommodated a number of guests easily.
Large living area, with a terrific kitchen. And the
location is quite convenient to wineries and the town
of Sonoma itself. Blair is easy to work with!

Wonderful luxury home perfect for our group of eight. Beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything we needed. The open floor plan of kitchen/living/dining rooms worked extremely well. We really enjoyed the large indoor fireplace and the new outdoor firepit too. A great location--private but with many Sonoma County wineries nearby; and a very convenient location if you plan to visit wineries in Napa and Healdsburg too. We simply had a wonderful time in part due to the comforts of this home. I would certainly rent the property again. Thank you Blair!

Paradise found!
Beautiful canyon setting among the redwoods, this house has absolutely everything the discriminating visitor to Sonoma could possibly ask for. The owner provided the most complete house information booklet I've ever seen. The photo shown on the VRBO doesn't do justice to this wonderful escape!
