The house was large enough for our group. 5 bathrooms with plenty of beds. The kitchen needs a major update. The appliances are out dated, including the microwave and coffee maker, the plates etc., we felt we could not use plates for our meals. There were not enough towels, so I washed them every other day. The outside furniture was not cleaned and it was nice enough to be outside. Was the outdoor furniture forgotten? We had a good week, but will choose another house next year that more fits our lifestyle.

Lots of room in the house. Kitchen is small and a little outdated but it worked. Perfect place for us

The CAVU Mansion was a sprawling house with many "wings," and it was great that each bedroom had its own bath (very convenient). It's located on a dirt road that is a little hard to navigate, but GPS helped us find the place. But it has four *mostly* comfortable bedrooms (more on that in a bit), sitting and living rooms, a nice patio, two dining rooms, and a playroom (which we didn't use). The kitchen looked nice too, but we didn't really use that either.
The one thing that I would note is that one of the bedrooms (the one I slept in) has a lattice door and a partial latticework wall. That meant that light got in if all the lights in the house weren't off, and made the air conditioning less efficient.
In addition, the thermostat in that room was set to 80 degrees (when the outside temperature was more than 90 degrees), so the room got very hot (even though the air conditioning was also on--wasteful) and took quite a while to cool down that first night. I thought maybe the cleaning crew had mistakenly turned it up, but then I saw that the checkout instructions said to leave the thermostat at 80 degrees when leaving. That didn't make sense in a summer house location, and we suspected that those instructions are just boilerplate for the many properties managed by Vacasa. At any rate, that should be changed.
But all in all, it was a nice place to spend a weekend on the Vineyard.

I like that there was a bathroom for every bedroom. Not all ensuites. It is good for a large group. However, cleanliness was not their strong point. Dirty towels, broken toilet seat (that was also noted previously by others guest), constantly running toilet, very poorly draining bathtub and sink (would fill up while taking a shower), very dated furniture that need replacing, and hard outdated mattresses that had very unclean mattresses pads on them. Management???

Overall, it was a nice stay, but if you plan to stay during the summer and want to spend most of your time at the house, this may not be the place for you unless you are okay with it being warm in the house. The house only has window units, but there isn't one in the living area where you and your family/guests might want to hangout. This was not disclosed and when it got very warm without a/c, I was called and told that there was only central heating in the living room and no a/c. I asked for fans or something and was told that they couldn't provide them. I found a small fan in another room that did not have a/c and put that fan in the living room. It helped a little and fortunately for us, we didn't stay together in the living area much.
Some of my guests also found medicine left by a previous guest and even a dead bug. There was an issue with the downstairs bath lights, but I wasn't made aware of it until the evening before we left so I did not report it.

If you like modern style then it’s not your option. However if you prefer historical house with renovation touches - this is gem.

Very comfortable, and roomy house.
Well stocked with all the needed necessities.
Quiet neighborhood and easy access to town.
4.2
Very nice house and setting. The only down side is the partial A/C in the house. Central air conditioning would be a great investment. The rooms are comfortable the kitchen is fantastic and the grounds are beautiful. Me & my friends really enjoyed our stay there.

Needs serious updating. The property was musty and smelled like mildew. The description said AC, but they were window units in a couple of the bedrooms and did not work well. Also, beach chairs had holes in them and were rusted. We would not return unless the property was majorly updated.

The toilet in the master bathroom broke the first day of our stay and was never fixed. The hot water in the master bathroom was barely hot and took an extremely long time to even get to that tepid temperature. The mattresses were either rock hard or lumpy— they need to be replaced. There were small issues such as window cranks that fell off so we couldn’t open those windows, door screens falling off, ceiling fans that didn’t work (that was fixed.) the house is dark, with little airflow. The location is great for kids--a large and lovely yard on a dirt road, the house is poorly supplied and badly maintained--the mattresses are unfit.
Of lesser concern, though still irritating, we were supplied with one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 tiny bottle of dishwashing soap, the smallest bars of soap imaginable.
This house was misleadingly represented.

This place is a gem and private. Real big enough for 4 couples to stay and love the three season room.

Although it was difficult to find (it is actually in Tisbury) the house was old but looked great. THere were five sleeping locations. After settling in on Tuesday we had to call the service immediately bc there was no electric in part of the house and we could not entertain the wedding party in our living area as there was no electric. Downstairs rooms were moldy bc the dehumidifier had no electric which triggered asthma attacks. Fire department had to come on day 3 and 4 bc the carbon monoxide and then smoke alarm were going off. That is just a brief summary.

The check in process and communication with owner was easy. When we arrived, the outside garbage was overflowing. Once inside, the house has a very strong musty odor. A guest attempted to use the first bathroom near the kitchen and got stuck inside because the track of the pocket door was competed rotted and no longer worked properly. We needed two other people to get her out of there. Most of the bedrooms we great, however, the lower two bedrooms in the house are kind of in a basement level where the humidity is read 80% on their dehumidifier. It’s great they have a dehumidifier, however, it fills up every couple of hours and had clearly Stopped running way before we got there (because it was full), making the entire area damp and musty. I recommend having the dehumidifier drain somewhere so it can run continuously. In the bathroom on this same level there is clearly black mold growing on the ceiling. In the bedroom there were fake plants on the nightstand that were COVERED in a thick layer of dust- I had to put them on the floor, as I am highly allergic. Overall, the place on the surface was clean, but it was dusty, musty, and moldy and I did not feel comfortable walking around without shoes nor sitting on a lot of the furniture in the living room. I had an infant with me, so the mold and dust were very concerning and completely grossed me out. In addition, there was no laundry detergent in the house, which, typically, there is enough for a load or two at other places I have stayed (especially since they usually ask you to start a load before you leave). It’s really a shame because the house is beautiful and could really be amazing if it was taken care of properly. Would not rent here again unless some improvements were made.

The yard and size of the house served our family, but the house is extremely dated, superficially cleaned, but attention to detail was missing like cleaning the base of the window so you could open the windows and not have dirt blow in, the kitchen is disorganized and not well equipped for cooking, and sadly, the must and mold were not good for our family who suffers from allergies. Were grateful for many things such as the management company and their communication, adequate supply of beach towels, and some toys for the kids, however these things didn't counterbalance the challenges and we would probably not stay here again.

Beautiful yard, plenty of space

Location is perfect, but one of the double bunk bed is not so much a room, there is no ac or fan in that room. All the Window AC unit needs updating. Toilet by the entrance is broken, I’m surprised it’s not being fixed after the last reviewer’s comment. My friends daughter got stuck inside. House is relatively clean but there’s leftover food on the floor, spiders throughout the house. Owner definitely needs to look into these few things to refresh the house.

There were a lot of things to love about this place and a few minor inconveniences that were bothersome enough to write about them. Firstly, the main positive is that Gianna from Vacasa was super responsive and I am very happy about that. That level of customer service will definitely keep me booking with Vacasa.
Now the not so good things:
1) Flies, flies and more flies! These things entered the house through every crack and crevice(by the a/c units I am assuming) in droves. I don't think we would have been able to tolerate another day of it
2) My sister got stuck in the downstairs bathroom. The door track completely fell apart and at one point, we thought we were going to have to contact the fire department. We spent over 30 minutes trying to get her out. All of that to say, there are a quite a few things within the home that need to be updated
The home is a beautiful older home and the more antique feel of it all was to be expected; again, with a few minor tweaks, the potential is endless.

Just got back from our weekend in the Vineyard and it was AMAZING. We had 10 adults stay comfortably in this home with everything we needed! There were 5 full baths and plenty of room! The kitchen had everything we needed in it and it was perfectly located close to all the activities of the island! Would 100% recommend and hope to return!

Wonderful home in Martha's Vineyard!
We really enjoyed the space, the kitchen and the general warmth of the place. We loved the dinnerware, flatware and wine glasses which allowed us to eat a lovely dinner together. There was ample space for all of us!

Cavu mansion stay
The house was very dated and no central air which is tricky in the summer, but ultimately served our needs and we really enjoyed the outdoor area along with the front yard. Biggest down sides were the AC situation and the outside grill is unusable (neglected and no brush). Upsides were the property itself which is beautiful, the trails in the back of the house which are great for morning walks and the management team was very responsive and happy to help along the way.

Beautiful House
Spent a lovely weekend in this house with some friends. We had a great time and there was plenty of space for games and activities! The only issue that we had with the house was when we were cleaning up to leave we had a lot of trash bags that we did not know what to do with. There was no information listed in the house or on the listing on line to tell us what to do with the trash. I had tried calling the number listed as well as directly messaging the owner to try to find out what to do with the trash but did not get any responses. We were also not able to connect to the wifi as it was password protected and we could not find the password on the listing or anywhere in the house.
Overall we had an amazing time but I had wished that there would have been a paper posted somewhere in the house explaining what to do when checking in and out of the house.
