Escape to this luxury villa featuring a heated salt water pool with waterfall jacuzzi, and a pro music studio with drums, piano, guitar, mics, and PA suitable for karaoke with your device. The music studio, with its vaulted ceilings and multiple isolation booths, has recently hosted Australia's #1 electronic dance group, Rufus Du Sol. It is a storied part of Los Angeles music history, created by one of the founders of Trotsky Icepick in the mid-1980's, and used at times by Paramount Records. Purchased and refurbished by the current owner in 1996, this studio home hosted Venice fixtures Ballyrag and Squick, the engineers of Groovetree Recording, Nova Blue, and many others. Engineers have tuned the sound room over the decades with baffles and foam to produce a perfect sound ambiance beloved by recording artists, engineers, and DJ's alike. The studio comprises 600 square feet, with a live room, control room, isolation booths, triple-pane glass window between rooms, and silent air conditioning. It can alternate as office space, a yoga or meditation studio, or whatever your imagination can summon. The studio contains an acoustic guitar and a modest set of speakers for playing tunes from your device.
The other standout feature of the home: the newly constructed modern salt water pool. It features a waterfall infinity spa, multiple shelf levels, a diving deep end, and three pillars built into the pool superstructure which support a cabana/carport. The pool size is 12 meters by 4 meters, or 32 feet by 12 feet. It is 8 feet at the deepest point, allowing diving, tapering to about 3-4 feet deep on the shallow end. On the Baja shelves, you can lie down on your back and relax, or sit in the deeper shelf.
The sizable spa heats up in 20 minutes. The pool is heated year-round.
Pool maintenance is normally on Tuesday and Friday, and landscape maintenance is on Tuesday, during the day.

- No smoking or smokers allowed anywhere on premises, either outside or inside. Any sign of smoking will result in a fee for abatement and cleanup, and other more serious sanctions.
- NO PARTIES, no music outside, all guests must be registered whether visiting or sleeping. Keep noise outside to minimum. Quiet hours after 10PM. Spa and pool use not allowed after 10PM, as with most hotels. When playing in studio, shut doors. Noise complaints result in cancellation, loss of deposit, and fine.
- No pets. Service dog fraud is prohibited under California Penal Code 365.7 PC. Violation will result in cancellation or $500 fee or both. This home is not a public accommodation as a hotel. Please respect the health of others with serious allergies, who legally require a pet-free home.
- Photo ID of booker, and guest list required, sent to the host on channel within 24 hours of booking.
- Children under 12 must be watched at all times, and are acknowledged to have pool training.
- No filming or photo shoots, except by special arrangement.
- We ask not to cook fish indoors, in consideration of other guests. A BBQ is provided outside, and we suggest a delicious foil wrap with butter/oil.
- Please do not send packages to this residence. Any mail delivered to this property cannot be guaranteed.
- Please empty food into garbage, not the garbage disposal. Rinse dishes before placing in the dishwasher.
- Only toilet paper in the toilet. A $300 fee will be assessed for clogs due to anything else.
- Loss of remote or keys will result in a $50 charge.
- On departure: Leave property in same condition that you received it. Dishes done and put away, food and drinks removed from fridge. Close all windows, turn off AC, spa, lights. Pots & pans hand washed and returned to original location. All trash removed and taken outside, placed in trash bins (use remotes on entry counter). Please inform us if you have broken anything. If additional cleaning is required, please let us know.

The manager was very attentive to our needs. All 10 of us, ages 8 to adult, enjoyed the property. Everything we needed was supplied. The pool was the best and the living area was big enough for all to hang out and watch the Olympic Opening.

Enjoyed our stay. Nice residential area but close to Venice beach and Santa Monica. Kids loved the recording studio and pool is great to have. Some useful stuff provided such as tea and coffee. A slight issue was responded to.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this place. The host was very accommodating and made sure that everything was just the way we liked it. The location was so convenient to Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu Beach. We enjoyed every day seeing something new and coming back and relaxing in the pool and hot tub! My entire family said they can’t wait to come again. Thanks for making it such a rememberable experience for us!

The house was exactly as advertised and we truly enjoyed it. The property manager made the check in process streamlined and easy.
The only minor drawback was the TV with Apple TV as the solution and the WiFi seemed to not be quite strong enough to stream the basketball game.

This was a great find. A wonderfully appointed house in a leafy neighbourhood - the house had everything you would need. The pool is heated and perfect size (although didn't use it muck due to being cool and overcast - which was quite shock compared to Indio where we came from visiting Coachella and Stagecoach).
The kitchen has everything you want including coffee provided FOC and large usable appliances you would expect in the US- including laundry facilities.
Parking is easy, there is a carport - but as we had a large vehicle we parked at front (but remember to park facing the right way or you get a ticket as we found out!).
Overall a great stay- we were over from the UK and managed to get a lot of collaboration / meetings done in the morning whilst on UK time. Visited some great spots such as Shutters, Malibu Farm and Beach and Brew.

This house is terrific and the pool/hot tub is a real bonus. The living area is nice and open....terrific sunlight throughout. The kitchen well stocked. Updated bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Comfortable bedrooms.The outdoor space is beautiful. Easy to get anywhere on the Westside. Would definitely stay again!

I went to LA to visit my brother with my parents and three children 6 and under. The house was perfect for all ages! The neighborhood was great, the house was very well stocked with everything we needed, the hosts checked in to make sure all was well. Excellent service and an excellent house! We hope to rent again on our next west coast trip!

This was a perfect property for me and my family (brother and daughter/son-in-law and two teens coming to SoCal for a family reunion. The space was great including the kitchen and dining area and family room with sufficient bedrooms and bathrooms. The fam loved the pool and hot tub and the outdoor space was also great to use. The kitchen was very well equipped; we prepared a number of meals during our 9 night stay. We really appreciated the provision of the paper products as well as bath gel, shampoo and conditioner in all the bathrooms. Linens and towels, including kitchen towels, were provided and of good quality, as were the dishes and glassware. I would highly recommend the property for a group of 6-8 (we had 6). The location is also great if you plan to visit LA attractions, including Venice Beach and other nearby beaches. I only gave the neighborhood 4 stars because there was some noise next door, which the property manager addressed quickly. Overall, the neighborhood was very nice and street parking was fine, but we usually put our vehicle in the carport. Did not use the studio.

Lovely, well maintained, modern house. The house was comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed the pool and our family had a singalong in the studio. Of all the home rentals we have had, we have never had a more attentive, accommodating owner. Highest praise for

Relaxing
This is a relaxing and quirky property (Pool, piano AND recording studio) in a very convenient location for much of LA. The rooms are comfortable although the single bed with pull-out option is not for tall people! Otherwise the house is well equipped, certainly for a relatively short stay. Although the road outside is busy during the day, it is quiet at night, adding to the air of peace the house has.

The best times at this amazing house!!!
Loved staying at Dan’s house! The pool and jacuzzi are fabulous, and we had a fun jam in the studio with the provided guitar. The house blends modern and retro styles, and with four bedrooms there was plenty of privacy for our group. Dan and his co-hosts were always helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!
