Capitol Hill Stay is a veteran-owned small business with 20 properties on Capitol Hill. We have been providing furnished lodging on Capitol Hill since 1997. If this property doesn't work for you or isn't available for the dates you need please reach out to us and let us know and we can see if we can find a property that does work for you. You can also swap from one of our properties to another as available if needed. Additionally you can see all of our Airbnb listings at our Airbnb host profile page.
PLEASE SEND AN INQUIRY PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ABOUT PRICING. We have been a primarily longer term housing provider for 25 years but pricing on Airbnb is very hard to communicate and set, as it's impossible to know the dates and circumstances of every possible guest's needs in advance when we set pricing. Pricing may vary significantly depending on length of stay, specific dates, etc. For longer term stays there may be discounts possible.
We are available as needed. We also provide a very detailed Welcome Letter with apartment and neighborhood information.
One of the most highly sought after areas in DC.
Historic, charming, beautiful.
Geographic center of the region. Outstanding restaurants and nightspots.
Walk to historic Eastern Market, the Capitol, etc.
Very walkable neighborhood.
Five blocks to Union Station (metro, tourmobiles, etc.) and Capitol South metro.
Uber and Lyft are very easy to get here.
Capital Bikeshare is a few blocks away.
Inquire about parking PRIOR to booking please. There is very little need to bring a vehicle, as there is great metro and bikeshare access, and rideshares are inexpensive and readily available. Most places you want to go to in DC won't have parking when you get there. 24/7 street parking near this property is possible with a street parking pass, which can be obtained from the DC DMV with a copy of a lease and vehicle information. It costs around $250 for a six month pass. Free street parking with no pass needed is free and open to all every night, all weekend, and two hours each weekday. We have about five offstreet parking spaces in the immediate area. We rent them from neighbors. IF a paid space is available they usually go for $300 a month. Union Station parking garage is five blocks away and can do monthly rentals including oversize vehicles for around $300 a month.
Great location to explore DC from. Fantastic neighborhood for longer term stay as well. There is an elevator, but to get to the lobby area you will need to walk up about ten steps. Like many buildings of this era in DC the building heat/air conditioning system that either heats or cools, depending on time of year. It does not do both simultaneously. If you have any questions just let us know.
A word about rates:
Since every booking is different the rates listed are an approximation. Rates are based on length of stay, specific dates needed, amenities requested, etc. Bookings less than 91 days are subject to the DC lodging tax of 15.95%. SINCE EVERY INQUIRY IS DIFFERENT AND THE BIGGEST FACTOR IN PRICE IS THE SPECIFIC DATES CHOSEN AND LENGTH OF STAY RATES MAY BE HIGHER OR LOWER THAN WHAT IS POSTED. PLEASE INQUIRE SO WE CAN DISCUSS PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.
Fall and winter months are very high demand, moreso this year than ever before as this is the first year that many federal agencies and private employers are bringing people back to DC, and they are making up for lost productivity during Covid.
And of course it's a presidential election year.
Most furnished housing providers in DC will only take bookings for three months or longer during these months. We will do less, but the rates do go up. And generally we try to match an incoming booking with an apartment that is available within a week or so of the requested date. For instance if you are seeking a month rental beginning July 1 we would want to match your request with a property available in very late June or July 1. If the property you inquired about seems to have an availability date that may not match up then you can always check HERE see all properties and their available dates.
Our average booking is around four to six months. We are primarily a longer term lodging provider. We can do shorter, but in the furnished housing business rates go up for shorter stays.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

The Classical Charmer
A Classical Charmer being new to the DC area, I was able to land a very cozy and comfortable reservation with great privacy in the premier neighborhood of DC. A serene refuge with a nice patio, I didn't hear any rioters at all.

Perfect location, Comfortable, Complete
It doesn't get any better! Wonderfully cozy across the street, a block from the Capitol or to walk the mall monuments, a couple of blocks from the metro- blue line . Easy walking for restaurants or groceries to cook in and relax in comfort. A great kitchen and bathroom. Wonderful bed! The only change I would make is a better blackout of the windows.
Capitol Stays is friendly and helpful! Will enjoy staying there again.

Amazing Location
The view from the windows is the Supreme Court building. You can't get any closer to the major hot spots in DC. The apartment is just as pictured. Nice upgrades in kitchen and bathroom. It also has a washer/dryer. I felt very comfortable here. Everything was very clean. Big plus! We stayed for a week with our 2 kids. The kids slept on the couch's pullout bed. They didn't seem to mind. The only thing preventing me from giving this place 5 stars is the couch was worn out and the bed was terribly uncomfortable.

Very nice apartment in a great location
We had a great stay at this property in D.C. The apartment is very nice, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect- very easy to get to and walking distance to many of the D.C. sights. Communication with the property owner was clear and timely. Loved it!

Terrific location
Literally across the street from the back of the Supreme Court. Security is second only to living behind the White House fence. Smallish studio with a cleverly walled off bedroom. Very well appointed and comfortable. Not sure it would work for 4 people, but certainly sufficient for a couple. The staff is very responsive. We had a problem turning on one of the lights. Someone was there is a couple of hours, discovered the light was unplugged, plugged it in, and took it all in good humor without making us feel like idiots (which I guess in that case we were).

Perfect location
This was our first time visiting DC and we will most certainly be back. Our apartment was the perfect size for two people. The kitchen was recently renovated and well stocked with essential pots and pans etc. The apartment was located across from the Supreme Court Building and minutes away from the Smithsonian. Ronald Reagan airport is a $20 taxi ride away. Union station the metro, taxi, train and tour bus hub is five minutes away. Below in the train station you can find everything you need including a Walgreens. It was our first experience using vrbo and Brian made it a breeze. The instructions regarding the key lock were easy. If you want to feel the DC vibe this is most definitely the place for you.

Absolutely Perfect
The apartment was very clean and very quiet. The location is perfect for those needing to be near the Capital or the mall. Communication with the owner was suburb. We would highly recommend this property.

Location, location, location!
Place was spotless with all the amenities. We had a minor issue with the toilet and Luis came out immediately to take care of it. When our flight was delayed, he was very helpful in offering suggestions for alternative travel. I had a direct number to call when there were issues and got in contact with a person not a service or machine. Really appreciated that. Highly recommended this place. Our family of 3 did great in this space. Local places to eat in close proximity.

Great Unit, Great Location and Brian was an Excellent Host
The apartment was in excellent condition and cleaned meticulously upon arrival. It offers a fully stocked Kitchen with pots, pans, bowls, storage containers and enough silverware for at least four people. The bed was really comfortable and came with linens. The location could not be better. It worked out great for us as we wanted to visit most of the museums on the National Mall, the Capital, Library of Congress just to name a few. Metro stops are .4 miles away (Capital South) and .6 miles away (Union Station). Brian was great as a host. We had a minor problem upon arrival that was no fault of Brian's or our own that Brian worked out in no time at all for us even while he was out of town. We could not have asked for better customer service. I highly recommend this apartment if you are traveling to DC.

Well cared for and appointed apartment. Surprisingly quiet for DC. Excellent location for touring and restaurants. Great walking location. Best part is Brian's communication and responsiveness.

Highly Recommend
Brian's place is wonderful! It was within walking distance of all of the sights including the Supreme Court, the Capital, Museums etc. There are also many great places to eat and grab a drink - we would recommend The Elephant and Castle; Hawk and Dove; We the Pizza; Baked and Wired; and Dukes to name a few.
If you need to travel by car for any reason Uber was quick and cheap. Brian's place is definitely centrally located to everything; it is clean and updated and the neighborhood is safe.
We would highly recommend this place and hope to stay there again in the future.

Excellent! The Best on The Hill!
Finally, a business stay without a hitch. From booking to my end of stay, things went smoothly. I was given excellent and informative instructions before I arrived and once there, the in-house Welcome Packet was a binder filled with all the details I needed to feel right at home.
The home is apartment is in the perfect location, steps away from the Capitol. The views are quintessential DC from the wall of windows facing Supreme Court. The neighborhood is charming and quiet. The building is wonderfully, completely non-smoking. The entire apartment is modern and clean, clean, clean. I had everything I needed to work from home with blazing fast wi-fi. It even has a better cable package than I have at own house.
I will look forward to booking with Capitol Hill Stay, again.

Great location and property
My wife and I had a wonderful stay, and the location was perfect for seeing the sights. Plenty of amenities nearby and the nearby transit stops made not having a car no problem. The property is in a very nice location and very safe and clean. It was perfect for the two of us and we had a great time walking around the historic buildings in the neighborhood (yes that is the supreme court across the street).
The property was exactly as advertised and appears in the photos. The owner was prompt with correspondence and although our stay did not require any additional accommodations they seemed eager to assist us if necessary.
Also, the property seems to be a great value for location and amenities.
Although our stay was only for a long weekend, I could easily imagine it being a great place for a more extended stay.
I will certainly try to stay here when we return to see the sights we missed.
