About this house rental
Ideal for families & couples; young and not so young!
Choice of 2 decks, 2 living areas, 2 fires; be together or seek solitude. Works well for 2 families.
Generously proportioned architectural spaces with striking design, layout and modern furnishings create a strong holiday “feel” encouraging both relaxation and activity.
Accommodation flexibility together with the open plan living/dining/kitchen ensure a highly integrated approach to holidaying. Large living spaces, with fires in each, cater to different family groups and activities.
The spacious 20-year-old house offers a wonderful elevated view of the lake and Mt Tarawera from large decks, with lake access for swimming and lakeside tracks via a nearby short walkway.
With surrounding native birds and bush, the property offers great off-street car/boat parking and good turning space. Handy access to boat launching at Stoney Point.
The natural beauty at Lake Tarawera offers a great backdrop for multiple water activities – water skiing, wake/paddleboarding, yachting, trout fishing, kayaking and good old-fashioned swimming; visit downstream to the falls on the Tarawera River.
Tramping, mountain-biking, jogging, horse-riding, and climbing opportunities abound among other world-famous lakes - the Blue and Green, Okataina, Okareka, Rotomahana, Rotoiti and Rotorua.
Holidays in Rotorua have long been the source of lasting memories for both experienced international travelers and the impressionable young, who have treasured childhood experiences.
For the creatively inclined, Lake Tarawera’s natural settings offer opportunities aplenty for painters and photographers.
Visit The Landing cafe or dine in style at Solitaire Lodge; call up the water taxis to reach Hot Water Beach or the outlet walk/falls; climb Mt Tarawera; experience the Redwood Forest and the Buried Village with its excavated ruins of Te Wairoa, buried in the 1886 eruption.

We are a group of eight friends that come together every year for a long weekend get catchup - this year or choice was Lake Tarawera. This property was everything it promised to be - such a great location - the host kept us informed and nothing was a hassle. Would definitely recommend and we hope to be back in the near future.

We were a group of 8 and so we enjoyed the spaciousness of the place with its large kitchen and dining area, 2 living areas, and 2 large balconies. What a great location and such beautiful views! With the size of our group the bathroom situation was a bit tight though as the second bathroom is an ensuite. Otherwise perfect! Some of us loved the games. Communication with the host was swift and easy.

We had a great weekend in Tarawera for a friends wedding. Robin’s Bach was the perfect base, it had every comfort of home and lived up to the property description and then some. We just wished we had stayed longer. I would not hesitate to recommend the property to anyone.

We were very happy with our accommodation, it’s has a stunning location and plenty of room, easy off street parking. We also found all the extras of a very well set up home, tea, coffee, soap etc, a great BBQ. I really highly recommend it and Robin was friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for a wedding at Black barn. Great location and a very well equiped house with great communication from the owner. It's an ideal setup for two families or as in our case three generations of the one family. The cost is reasonable for the location and we will try to use it again.

A nice, large and cosy house which was perfect for our group. Had everything you could possibly need, including lots of games for a rainy day. Even though it was winter and raining outside, we were very comfortable.
Great communication from the host and Robin was very welcoming.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Great space for family gathering. Room for all with multiple areas to relax in. Appreciated the fireplace as our Aussie family needed warming with the abnormal summer weather bomb this weekend. But place is in a fantastic location near the lake. Stunning views.

We had a wonderful stay here. The house itself is very spacious, the furniture is comfortable, and the views of the lake and mountain are spectacular. We loved the table tennis and gas fireplace! Kitchen has everything you could need. Communication with the host was easy and quick, and there were lots of details provided about how to get the most out of our stay at the house. The property is just a short 20-30 min drive from Rotorua, which is a lovely scenic route through trees and past lakes. Our favourite thing to do locally was the redwood forest walk—a must see at night especially. Thanks for a memorable holiday.

An older house but very well maintained and looked after, clean&tidy, warm, spacious and great host communication. amazing views of the lake and mountain, what a great location. We did lose the direct sun in the evening when BBQing on the deck which was a little chilly this time of year, nothing an extra layer of clothes or a jacket can't remedy.
We spent most of our short stay riding at Whakarewarewa Mountain Bike Park - epic.
