About this house rental
The Urban Beachcomber provides views of Lake Superior from every window and a cozy, clean, and comfortable spot for you to call home during your visit.
Located steps from McCarty's Cove and short bike path ride or walk to downtown, the centralized location gives you instant access to Marquette's most popular attractions!
Our 3 Bedroom Home can accommodate up to 7 guests very comfortably.
Wireless internet service and cable is available throughout the house.
Kitchen amenities include full size appliances stove, fridge, and dishwasher. Smaller appliances include coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, blender, crock pot, coffee grinder, hand mixer, and casserole dishes.
The whole house will be available to our guests!
The garage is setup for tuning up your gear and storage (ie. for bikes, golf clubs, snowboards, paddle boards etc..)
We are locals! If there is anything that we can do to make our guests stay more enjoyable just reach out.
The 'East Side' of Marquette is an amazing place to stay! Being only steps from 'McCarty's Cove' and the 'Iron Ore Heritage Trail' you will easily be able to walk, run or bike your way around town!
The campus of Northern Michigan University is 1 mile away.
The YMCA is just down Lakeshore Blvd, as well as Lakeview arena and the Marquette Skate Plaza.
Lakeshore Bike is one block north, you can see it from the house. They rent bikes and trailers for pulling kids.
Lake Superior Theater Runs in the summer, right around the corner.
The Maritime Museum is right next door and open May-September and gives lighthouse tours as well.
Three parks, the best beach in town and the Lower Harbor are all within 1/2 mile of the house!

Close walk to “down town” and steps to Lake Superior, could not have picked a more perfect location for our group. There were only 3 of us but house for sure can accommodate more if needed. Property owner was very on top of everything and checked in to ensure our stay was flawless. 5+ stars, we all would stay again if we find ourselves in Marquette again!

This is our second time to stay at The Urban Beachcomber and it was an absolute delight again! Clean with an attention to detail, this light and airy home is exactly what we needed to celebrate and relax. The morning sunsets, easy walks to downtown and a relaxing evening talking with family makes this place perfect. If there were more than five stars, you’d have them!

My family of 4 adults enjoyed our stay in Marquette. We particularly liked the location and the well-stocked kitchen which is the main reason we choose rentals over hotels. Having bedrooms on three different floors was ideal to provide everyone privacy. We did run into an issue in the basement with an unpleasant sewage smell, but it was most likely due to weather. We did contact the owner and were very pleased with all the communication before and during our stay.

Matt’s place was a perfect fit for our two families. The downstairs level with a bedroom, bathroom, and entertainment room was perfect for a second family to have some privacy. The location was great, would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the easy beach access! We were especially impressed with the well-stocked kitchen. Highly recommend this property!

We spend a week in Marquette every summer. This property is oerfect in every way.....location, well stocked, plenty of room to spread out and Matt is always in communication with you for anything. Our family enjoyed the shops and restauraunts near by, easy beach access, and quick drive to access hiking, waterfalls, fly fishing. Will definitely book again.

This house was simply wonderful. And probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed. Lots of room, very nicely remodeled, a HOT sauna that was amazing and close to everything. You can see Lake Superior from the window and its right on a bike trail. The over is amazing as well. We will be back!

This is our second stay at this cottage and we continue to love it. The cottage is clean, cozy, and well equipped. It is perfect walking distance to the beach and three parks. Presque Isle, downtown Marquette, and the bike path are all close by but the area is quiet and traffic is not a problem. Matt is very accessible and helpful. I highly recommend this host.

Perfect for family time visiting our NMU student. The foosball table got plenty of use by our boys. The kitchen was nicely equipped with everything I needed to cook for a hungry family after full days of hiking around Marquette. The outdoor barbecue was also a very nice addition, who doesn’t love a full tank of propane and steaks on the grill! I enjoyed the creative and whimsical decor and warm radiant heat. Next time I hope to fire up the Sauna after some skiing and snowshoeing adventures. The interior was spotlessly clean and it was apparent the cottage was lovingly cared for inside and out. I can’t wait call the Beachcomber our home away from home again soon!

Such a great place. Perfect for a family or a group of friends. What’s not listed in the description and was really enjoyed was the large backyard and deck. The open concept indoors, along with the multiple bedrooms and living rooms made it for such a great place for our group. For summer/fall, couldn’t ask for a better location. Watched the sunrise every morning from either the back deck, or walking on the beach. Thanks so much! Will be back for sure!

Beautiful location & home! We loved this property! Really well done. Probably the cleanest vrbo I have ever stayed at! And Matt was VERY accommodating. We will definitely stay here again. My father was born & raised in MQT so this location made visiting with family & site seeing easy! Road is in front of house but hardly heard any noise from outside at all.

Lovely home so close to the beach it was wonderful. The road can get busy but we enjoyed walking to the playground and to downtown. You are able to see Lake Superior while setting on the deck. The house felt like home.

The Urban Beachcomber is a true gem! The location cannot be beat! In moments you are at a beautiful beach on Lake Superior and you can see the Lake from the deck too! The house is very clean and comfortable. The hosts provide everything you need for a comfortable stay and many thoughtful touches to make your stay even more wonderful!
Matt is a great communicator who made the whole process easy and comfortable. My family had an amazing stay at the Urban Beachcomber and everyone who visited us there marveled at the location and house and wished they were staying there. This is the best VRBO we have every stayed at and we can't wait to return in the future!

Great home in a awesome location!
Matt's house was perfect for our family vacation. We were steps away from the beach and bike path. Lower Harbor and downtown shops were just a short walk or bike ride into town. Matt was great to communicate with and the house was very well stocked for our stay; which was a major bonus!

Great location for enjoying Marquette's many outdoor activities!
Urban Beachcomber is extremely clean, comfortable, and extremely close to Lake Superior beaches, awesome multi-use trails, mountain biking/hiking trails, downtown restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, live music and parks.
The house had everything we needed and Matt was great... very responsive to questions and it was great to meet him when he stopped by for trash pick-up. We would definitely stay here again!

ANAZING location!
If you are into biking, hiking, walking, kayaking, going to the beach, or eating really good food, you cannot get a better location than this! The bike/walk path is a block from the house, and so is the beach. All of the great downtown MQT restaurants are just a short walk/bike/drive away. There was even a bike store a block away, in case your bike has problems, and a little local food mart. Matt was super easy to contact, quick to respond, and the house was immaculate! There was plenty of space for two families to have our family meals and games together, and also room to spread out for some more quiet time. And, our kids loved their "secret" kids space upstairs! We would definitely stay here again!

Awesome spot!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the UB! Matt was so thoughtful and had champgane in the fridge for us for our anniversary! Communication was wonderful and the house was so clean! It had everything we needed for our stay! The location is in a great spot to town and had some views of Lake Superior from the deck and windows. We will absolutely be sure to check the UB schedule for our next trip to Marquette! Thanks again, Matt!

Perfect option for NMU parent events
While this property is ideal for young families looking for easy beach access, it was also ideal for us to stay in while our baby graduated from NMU! Plenty of room for several adults, kitchen was very servicable but not fussy. Best of all, the beach house is within walking distance of Third Street nightlife as well as the graduation ceremony at the Superior Dome. Beautiful, compact cottage with very calm and soothing decor - So much better than having to live in sterile hotel rooms and noisy restaurants for our long weekend!

Great Stay
We were only there for a short time and the focus was seeing our daughter in a theater production at NMU but the house made the trip more relaxing and enjoyable. We've visited Marquette several times and this house is a definite "try to book it"! The location to downtown, the bike path and the beach is ideal! The house was clean, spacious and well stocked. The communication with the property manager was timely and easy to understand. I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again!
