About this apartment rental
WELCOME! From the instant you enter the living area, you will drop your suitcases and stand in awe at the magnificent ocean and sea stacks seen a short distance below. Our condo is considered a prime location at Rainbow Rock because of its unobstructed over 180 degree view south down the Oregon Coast and west out to sea.
A truly beautiful few minutes private access walk along a well groomed winding path and over a wooden bridge to our private deeded beach will lead you to Rainbow Rock's own pot of gold, a cave with unique rock formations which are a geological wonder. When the sun is pouring into the cave colorful rocks go dancing before your very eyes! The beach has driftwood and sea stacks, star fish and mussels, and you will be able to have enjoyable long walks along the coast toward the town of Brookings. Access to this beach is private, for owners and their guests (that's you!) and more often than not, you will have it all to yourselves!
If you like whale watching, pristine tide pools, beachcombing, star gazing, sensational sunsets, hiking (the Coastal Trail is practically at your door step), and sitting in the condo or on the deck watching the waves roll in, then you've picked the perfect place--our balcony! Seasonally, whales stop to socialize with one another right in front of the Rainbow Rock condos, often staying for days at a time. They seem to love showing off by spouting and flipping their tails up in the air, almost like they are inviting you to come play. There is a lookout place just below our condo on Highway 101 (the Coastal Highway) where people pull over to whale watch. The fantastic Harris Beach State Park, just a mile or so away, has a group of locals who offer whale watching tips during winter migration to Mexico where, in the warmer waters of Baja, their babies are born.
Our condo is comfortable and family friendly. It is exceptionally CLEAN and well equiped with furnished linens and kitchen appliances. A gas BBQ is at the ready and a Jen Air stove has a grill. Everything from a popcorn popper to a crock pot is available for your comfort and use. The master bedroom has its own bathroom and there is also a guest bathroom close to the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom has two twin beds, the master bedroom has a king size bed, and there is a hide-a-bed in the living room. Pillows are all in protective covers as are the mattresses.
The ocean can be seen from most rooms in the condo, exceptions are the bathrooms and the guest bedroom which overlooks the Rainbow Rock complex. The rhythmic sound of the ocean can be heard from the living, master bedroom, and kitchen areas, especially when the sliding glass doors and windows are open, adding to the atmosphere of being at the fabulous Oregon Coast. From this condo highway traffic is not heard so you can enjoy the deck while reading, visiting or just watching the exciting ocean scene. This is a top floor (3rd) end unit affording all the privacy you could want .

Our Condo here was simply amazing, from the property itself to the views. Check in was great, the property itself is extremely well keep, the condo had everything and so much more, the views out the balcony were stunning. If we could rate this more than 5 stars we definitely would!

Top notch. Just like being home, but with a much better view. Beaches and forest. Is there anything better.

We have stayed at this condo four times now, often for multiple weeks. The host is wonderful and communicates well and the condo is perfectly located for awesome views of the beach and ocean.

We couldn’t ask for more! Dustin met us and the place was perfectly clean. He even gave my mother flowers for her 80th birthday! The views were magical it has everything we needed quiet and we even saw a part of whales playing and could look at them through the binoculars provided. 🙏

The condo was just as described. The views were so beautiful. We loved being able to walk down the path to what felt like our own beach. During low tide you can even walk through a cave. We enjoyed having a short drive to beaches, the redwoods and restaurants/grocery stores in Brookings. Love to stay again!

We 4 girls enjoyed our stay. Views were amazing, well stocked kitchen, great location. Only bummer was that the oven did not work(would not heat above 225). We enjoyed walking to the tide pools.

The view from the condo is unbeatable! It was the perfect place for our family’s vacation.

Title says it all about this place. The view of the coast is absolutely amazing. Words do not give that view justice, especially given the placement of the property (third floor corner, angled so it's difficult to see the balconies of the other buildings in the complex). Stayed with spouse and mother-in-law and every extra minute we had was spent admiring the view. The rest of the property was perfectly fine for our needs. Incredibly spacious though slightly dated--not an issue by any means, simply noticeable. Kitchen has everything you need, spare bedroom nicely sized, and main bedroom oddly vast--there were no overhead lights in the bedrooms, only lamps, so that part of the property was a bit dark. Nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. A perfectly fine place to stay, with the star being everything outside the property. Highly recommended.

The condo was spacious and the kitchen very well supplied with lots of dinnerware, pans & spices etc. The overall living area was so comfortable and relaxing with a great beach theme but not overly done. It would be nice if the main shower head could be updated and to include a hand-held wand. We couldn't get enough of the views from almost every room of the condo. Absolutely beautiful!

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful place! Even the stormy days were lovely. We watched the waves crash and the rain come down while playing games and doing a puzzle. We loved the home, the area and the food.
Highly recommend and would love to return.

Beautiful and comfortable. Nancy took care of an issue with the condo prep so quickly that it didn't affect our stay at all. Thank you!

Cozy, well-equipped condo with dropped jaws ocean views. We lucked out with three glorious sunny days over Thanksgiving weekend, topped by the wonderful Brookings Festival of Lights at Azalea Park. We'll be back!

The view is amazing 24/7. Construction and materials are aging but quite livable! Breakfast and dinner at the view windows is wonderful

Place was great. Unfortunately we didn’t know the kitchen window was open and when we opened the sliding glass door, the kitchen blind moved and the little sailer man fell from the sill and broke. I left $10 for the damage. Master tv remote has no batteries. Great place. Hope to stay here again and maybe the weather will be better. Thanks!

This is a lovely property. Incredible views. Comfortable and welcoming. Drawbacks were few. The kitchen cupboards and drawers were sticky, and there was no coffee grinder, but the place is clean overall. Softer lighting would be nice too.
What a great property that I would stay in again and definitely recommend to others. So peaceful on the edge of the Sea!

This rental is pretty much the definition of a "5-star" property. The views, as mentioned in other reviews, exceeded my already high expectations...they were spectacular and could be enjoyed from inside the unit or outside on its deck. The rental was well-equipped with cookware and dishes etc. likely very much like the owners themselves probably use when staying there, and the place is comfortably and tastefully furnished. On-site check-in was easy, though there is paperwork to fill out in advance due to the fact that the complex in which the unit is located has a homeowners association with certain rules. The complex is fairly close to Hwy 101 but isolated from other residences/businesses, which on the one hand is why it is peaceful and enjoys great views, but on the other hand why it requires a vehicle to go almost anywhere. However, there are some nice hikes possible from the property, including down to the beach it overlooks.
This rental proved to be a wonderful choice for a special stay near the ocean.

I have stayed at Rainbow Rock at least a half a dozen times and this condo had the most fantastic views of all. The property was clean and comfortable. All amenities were provided and there was nothing needed to enjoy our stay.

This property is fantastic. The views are unbeatable. The private beach access was wonderful with bunnies snails blackberries and even an apple tree. The sea cave fun. Sea stars while tidepooling. View of ocean at night under an almost full moon and the relaxing sound of the ocean. We did not want to leave.

The unit was quite dated… the toilet in the master didn’t work very well. The didn’t provide any Kleenex at all. And no clocks in the unit or on the bedsides. The twin beds in the smaller room were uncomfortable. The view was the best part, so location was good.. but it has never been updated so felt a bit dingy.

So well situated for in depth exploration of Samuel Boardman scenic corridor. Incredible wrap around glass windows in condo to showcase shoreline. Enjoyed the private path to the beach below. Highly recommend to all!!!

This place may have one of the best views on the Oregon coast. Absolutely stunning. House was super clean. Neighbors were super friendly as well.

The Vogel's condominium is a great stay for those that enjoy the ocean. The views are stunning and the nearby Samuel Boardman Scenic area has suburb oceanside opportunities for beachwalking and hiking. The patio is perfect for afternoon or evening dlning while looking right down on the ocean. Finally there is a private beach trail that provides great beach access.

The stunning views are the primary reason I booked this condo, and those don't disappoint. The condo is clean overall and well-supplied, but dated. Some of the dishes we got out of the cupboards were dirty, but we washed them ourselves. The owner could not be more responsive or helpful. It's a 3-minute drive to the amazing Harris Beach State Park (no entrance fee!), which has walking paths, hiking trails and a gorgeous beach with haystack rocks and great tidepooling. The condo location is also within day-trip range of the redwoods in northern California, which are definitely worth the trip. This is a beautiful place to stay.

My brother and his wife raved about this property, the owner, and the views! She was super helpful and easy to work with! 10 out of 10!

This was our 2nd stay at Rainbow Rock, although in a different condo. What a place! The view from the condo is hard to beat. Better in reality than in any photo.
No issues at all during our stay. In my opinion, the location can't be beaten. Glorious beaches and views literally minutes away.
On this trip we discovered the trail from the condo parking lot to the next beach north, Lone Ranch beach. An easy mile though the trees and down. Our favourite beach as you can walk there whether the tide is in or out.
The most gorgeous trees you have ever seen are only 45 mins. away in Jedidiah State Park in CA, and another 45 mins south of that is Prairie Creek State Park if you want even more.
Some great food choices down in Brookings Harbor to savour too.
If you've never been to this part of the country, do it. It's amazing. Prettier than further up the coast in Oregon too, in my opinion.
The condo is a little dated if you care about that kind of stuff. But everything works, WiFi is good for streaming, and the host Nancy responded very quickly to the questions I had before we arrived.
