Our stay was relaxing, enjoyable and extremely convenient in its location for the activities that we enjoyed!
We loved the private entrance to the property even though the owners were on site and the LOVELY private backyard and deck was a HUGE Unexpected surprise especially in San Francisco!

This charming, cozy, tastefully-furnished studio has two comfortable beds, a lovely backyard, an adequately set-up kitchen, walking access to the beach and Golden Gate Park, and more. Its hosts upstairs are kind, welcoming, and helpful. There are heaters galore to keep that San Francisco chill at bay, and games and books to keep you entertained while at home. One thing we didn't know is that the backyard is shared with the neighbors as well as the hosts, so avoid opening the blinds in the mornings in your underwear! Also, our kitchen did have nightly visits from the local mouse, which the owners promised to take care of. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would love to come back some day!

Very nice

Check in process was quick and easy, and the place was very clean! This was our first time in San Francisco, and this was a great home base location for going in to explore the city. Close to public transit if you want to go downtown, and good bars and dining options if you want to stay close by.
4.7
We loved the coffee shops, and local grocery store that you can walk to as well at the walking trail and beach location. Parking was no problem. The place was a little better set up than I thought. The living room with the extra bed also has a couch seating area. You do have to walk through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom. Stayed with my husband and our adult daughter.

This little apartment is in a great location with the beach just across the road. Was just the right size for the two of us with a well-stocked kitchen. My only negative is that the listing stated a washer and dryer as amenities and there were none in the unit or available in a common area. The owner did offer to let us use theirs at certain times but when a listing states something is an amenity, I guess I expect it to at least be available in a common area of access. Might be nice to include this limitation in your description. This was at the end of a 2 week trip and we were out of clean clothes - would have packed differently if I had known.

Clean, cozy, great location

Right across the street from the beach, which would ordinarily be a roll of the dice but weather was great. Apartment very nice and well-appointed. Do be mindful of the step-down into the common area. N-Judah fairly close by, pizza, groceries all manageable on foot. Neap tide during our stay so beach was waaaay wide. Shoulda brought a kite.

Peaceful retreat in a clean, quiet and fully equipped apartment. Lovely host and charming space.

If you've not read about this neighborhood, the NYT says: "On the western edge of the city, between Golden Gate Park and the San Francisco Zoo, the Outer Sunset has flourished...".
The San Francisco Chronicle lists many of the wonderful things in this neighborhood, from Farmers' Market to Hook Fish. The title of the article is "If San Francisco is dying, they Forgot to tell Outer Sunset."
The house is cozy and well- supplied. Outdoor deck is fabulous in the sunshine -- enjoy a glass of wine. The beach is nearby as are restaurants and shops (Gus' is our fave for groceries and wine.). We walked the Great Highway on Sunday! We loved our 10-day stay and will be back. A special treat was our granddaughters could spend the night with us on the futon for Fun Friday pizza and a movie!

I had the pleasure of staying here while visiting a friend who was in the hospital at UCSF Parnassus. This is a great location, convenient to Muni public transit. I was able to take the train straight to the hospital every day. There is also a great community market just a few blocks away, and the beach is right outside your door! As a solo traveler, I was also comforted by the multiple locks between the unit and the street. The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure was excellent. Full size refrigerator and stove was also a plus - that is uncommon in rentals I've found around here.
One thing to know before you go: this neighborhood is right on the ocean and the Pacific is cold and stormy in the winter. The unit does provide nice ceramic heaters, but be aware it takes a bit for this type of heater to come to temp. This is very normal for the Pacific Coast in winter, but uf you are coming from a place where everyone has central heat (or a warmer ocean) you might not expect it. SF is not a tropical swimming location, but you can still enjoy a lovely walk along the well-kept beach boardwalk and marvel at the sand dollars which wash up in the winter tide.
All in all, I greatly enjoyed my stay and appreciated the opportunity to be in such a wonderful location, even in the blustery winter.

Jon was fantastically helpful in working with VRBO to change the dates we had originally reserved. The unit is very convenient. Some reviews thought the unit was cold but the many space heaters did fine with January weather in San Francisco. The artwork on walls and floor are inspiring. Parking is no problem on the Great Highway. It's our San Francisco home!

A cozy place to stay in a great location.

Love the location right on Great Hwy with plenty of parking available. Apartment is in the back so it was very quiet. Walk to some restaurants and short drives to the sights. I would stay here again.
4.7
This roomy rental is directly across the street from the Great Highway, is a fifteen minute walk from Golden Gate Park, has a shady backyard, and we found plenty of available across the street parking spots.
The small portable room heaters really came in handy to take the chill out of the morning air.

This place was absolutely perfect for our family trip for a family wedding. It was an ideal location for our trips to the zoo, Muir Woods, and downtown. Having the smart TV in the living room was super helpful for having some movie down time with the kids (8 and 6) and the futon bed for them was perfect. The neighborhood is very quiet, which I needed, and the street parking was safe. Having the kitchen for breakfast in the morning was nice and we were glad to have the giant air purifier as well. Thank you for allowing us to stay here for our 5 day trip!

Perfect stay in ocean beach!

Stayed 3 days at this location and it was amazing. Its definitely an older home with some needed restoration. Not a big deal except the heat. Needed heat. Lol. But the location was to die for. Walk right outside and BAM beachfront. Plus little cute shops were near by to walk to and the zoo was down a couple of blocks. Great place for the price!
4.7
The apartment was well stocked with everything you could think of to make it like home. The kitchen was well supplied to cook and serve. There were even books to read and artwork to enjoy. The yard was beautiful and green and the deck readied for guests. Parking was easily found. Great place to stay as always. Diane & Jon are great hosts.

My sister and I and my pups were looking for a quiet place by the beach for the dogs to be able to run around. This place was simple but fit the bill and met all of our needs.
4.7
The property was in a really cool area. Right next to the beach, walking distance to Golden Gate Park, and a 20 minute drive to Fisherman's Warf. Plenty of parking on the street. The apartment was nice, with a backyard space. It was a little dusty, and we noticed the shower curtain had some mold on it so we replaced it ($5 from a CVS) but overall it was a nice stay.

Our crew was me, husband, and two youngish kids (7 and 9). We loved being able to pull right up to the house and park in front each time after a long day. The girls absolutely loved that the beach was right across the street. Great neighborhood and good food, and we tried a couple of the places that the hosts suggested in their welcome packet. This is only my second time in SF, but the location seemed really great. We could be anywhere in 20 mins - and some places faster. The home was true to description. Second bed was a futon so probably better for kids, which worked ok for our situation. As long as you don’t need something fancy or modern, this house will be great and an easy place to access at the end of the day.

We stayed here this last weekend with the dogs. It was so quiet and nice. Amenities close by, the beach right there. Only 10min from the zoo. We had a wonderful time!
4.7
We like to cook and not always go out to eat. So it’s nice to have better cooking utensils to use. However, it was a cute and comfy place. From the photos, the backyard was a place we were hoping to use but the grass was over grown, and we couldn’t use it to play with our kids. My son plays baseball and needs to practice and so that’s also why we picked this place to stay was because of the yard and we couldn’t.
4.7
We loved our 6 night stay. Location perfect, very safe and parking always available directly across the street. We had a problem our first night when lost electricity and couldn't reach the owner. So we had no lights or heat the first cold night. Jon fixed everything the next morning and all was well. Be sure to have Jon walk you through everything. It is an old property. We left out hearts in San Francisco and we will be back.

From start to finish, our stay at Diane and Jon’s VRBO was a delight! They are wonderful hosts and the property is cozy, charming, and very comfortable! It’s across from Ocean Beach where we walked for hours. And, it’s a short walk to a beautiful market and coffee shops too. The N Judah Muni line is a few blocks away, an easy ride down town. We just loved everything about this place!

This apartment was absolutely charming, filled with art and a bohemian vibe. The location was perfect; less than a block from the beach, two blocks away from the Devil’s Teeth Baking Co and an easy drive to everywhere we wanted to go. Our dog was with us, and the fenced backyard was a great place to let him run around.
I had to contact Diane because there were no garbage can liners; she came down promptly with what we needed and we had a nice chat. She was really friendly and responsive.
The bed was comfortable enough and the living room was cozy for watching “A Man Called Otto.”
The kitchen was well stocked, although we basically just made coffee there.
I would take a half-star off because the bathroom wasn’t heated and the water in the shower didn’t get very hot. But all things considered, that wasn’t a very serious problem, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I would highly recommend!

Location was great for access to the beach, bike path and muni.
Curb appeal was very disappointing. Weeds everywhere, overgrown yard and the exterior, entrance to breezeway and access to property was very unkempt.
The interior could be updated. Everywhere just looked old and tired.
We were very disappointed with the quality of everything based on what we paid for our stay.
4.7
Diane met us on arrival and gave very clear directions to the local shops and answered all our questions.
My wife , daughter and myself found that only across the road is an amazing beach.
Golden gate park is a nice walk too.
The property is lovely and has all you need as a self catering apartment.
Wonderful friendly hosts.

This was our second time and we had another fantastic time! Diane and Jon are wonderful hosts!
4.7
Lovely and quiet refuge during a sad and stressful family tragedy. Proximity to the ocean served as a balm. Privacy was perfect. Owners left helpful suggestions on neighborhood amenities that further assisted me.
4.7
The hosts are great! They were able to accommodate our arrival and departure. The place was tidy. They even set out another bed so that the teen did not have to share with their parent. They left suggestions for groceries, and dining. They were accurate about their being parking. It is a very quiet building and we had no issues with the neighbourhood.

Awesome location and the owners are really nice

We made daily walks to the beach nearby. Neighborhood was safe, easy to navigate and fun to explore. We used the city bus system extensively to go further distances.
Diane & Jon were responsive hosts. We were sorry to leave.

Love the quiet of this neighborhood, half mile walk from my son. Having the ocean across the street is phenomenal. Walking Great Highway is a treat. Home had enough space for us. Met the owner, Diane, and she is a sweetheart. We’ll definitely be back.
4.7
We stayed with our pets. The backyard was so nice with a deck and grass. The kitchen and living area were very spacious for San Francisco. Location across the street from the beach was perfect. Very quiet and located close to beach and park.

Great host
.Diane had all the answers and suggestions. Accomodation was as shown...great living space and comfortable bedroom.
4.7
I would have liked to know ahead about the heating system and the problems with electrical while using hair dryer.
4.7
It was easy to rent the apartment. It had exactly what we needed. Which we didn't need much. Close to supermarket, there are super awesome local places within walking distance. The beach is across the street! Easy access to transit, if you need it. It was the perfect choice for us.
4.7
The house is conveniently located in front of the ocean, but actually you can't see it from the apartment. Check-in was easy following the instructions, without direct contact with the host and parking was easy. The apartment is suitable for a family of 4 people, maybe not so good for two couples, being the bathroom accessible only through the bedroom. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to cook also some pasta! Wi-fi connection was good. The patio in the backyard is quite nice, but with more maintenance could be a plus for this house.
We found some cold and foggy days during our stay, the apartment was also a little humid and cold when we arrived in the evening.... though it was August!
