We moved to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and built this home to raise our children. We designed it so that all of our family and friends could come and visit any time and stay with us.
It's such a peaceful, private place to take in the beautiful scenery and spend time with your family & friends. The spacious living areas give you space to gather all together or find a quiet room to read a book and relax. The outdoors come to life here while walking down the country road behind our home along the Shenandoah River or the country road in front of our home viewing the mountains and pastures. You can relax by the pool and hot tub or sit out on one of our 5 porches/decks. Wherever you sit or look there is an abundance of beauty. We love to watch the moon come over the mountains or the sun set behind them. Every day is a different picture to see - the foliage in the fall, the clouds against the mountains, the stars like you've never seen them before but best of all the laughter and joy when family and friends are gathered!
Anyone who visits or stays can't wait to come back. We have been told it's like a slice of heaven, a retreat, a place you never want to leave.
It is conveniently located to everything! We are 1 mile from Massanutten Resort (water park, golfing, horseback riding, miniature golf, skiing, tubing, snowboarding, ice skating), 10 minutes from James Madison University, 10 minutes from Harrisonburg, 15 minutes from The Shenandoah National Park (great hiking trails) , 40 minutes from Charlottesville (UVA), 25 minutes from Luray caverns & 35 minutes from Stuanton (Black Friar Theater). Along with all those wonderful options there is canoeing, river tubing, winery's, antiquing, Fishing, hunting (depending on the season), biking, etc...
*The hot tub and pool are seasonal. It is opened April thru September and weather permitted we try to extend that period of time.

There were 11 of us who stayed in the home and we all had our own beds which was nice! The view was beautiful and the pool and hot tub were also very nice! We loved that we could all fit at the table for meals and fit in the family room to play games and watch movies. We wanted a very low key weekend and that is exactly what we got!

Amazing panoramic views of Shenandoah Mountains, house was very spacious and comfortable, pool and outdoor facilities were top notch. A rare gem that I would stay at again.

Our family of 18 came from 4 diff states to vacation here. We chose this location because of the privacy. The things we enjoyed were the pool, the sunrise over the mountain every morning, enough seating in the kitchen for all of us at mealtime and enough space around the land itself that if you wanted to spend some time alone there was space to do so.
A couple of things I would mention to other guests is that there are no blinds in the bedrooms which led to the bright light of the close town or the moon and def the sunrise- you could never really sleep in. The beds in all the room are very firm and 90% of our family agreed too uncomfortable to get a good night sleep on.
Since the listing says a 48in Viking stove with griddle, it stunk that it was broken and not useable.(2 of our guests were chefs). The listing says basketball hoop (we had 7 teenagers) and it stunk that it could not be adjusted to go up and down and the backboard was broken. The listing mentions and shows a sand volleyball court but it is all grass and is also the area they saddle the horses, so even if we wanted to play on grass there was so much horse poop in that area. The listing mentions 5 porches- which are amazing!..esp the porch on the upstairs bedroom where you can see the sunrise. Just wish on that porch and the other bedroom porch there was even 2 chairs so it could be used other than just standing.
Overall, this is a great place and Debbie, the project manager was always responsive to our needs

The most outstanding feature of this property is the view of mountains, valleys and beautiful rural scenes. The house is large with room for more than our 8 adults and 4 tweenagers.

The house, the views, the pool, the kitchen-First class ! Well kept property except for one thing-the volley ball court. Website shows a great looking sand filled court but it's all overgrown with grass and weeds. We have a couple of volley ballers in our family who were a bit disappointed. However that was a minor annoyance when you consider everything else the house has to offer. One of the best equipped kitchens we've ever seen in our 19 years of family vacations. Horses and steers roam off property and those mountain views are really fabulous. We especially liked all of the family photos on the walls in various rooms. Obviously there are many great family memories associated with this property.
So, as long as you're not into volleyball, you'll just love this place. A definite thumbs up !

Loved the 360 panoramic view. Pool and hot tub pristine. Great house for large families. Host and property manager are wonderful. Bonus…we had front row seats to neighbor’s 4th of July fireworks display

Great house, big enough for extended family, the views are to die for, horses out the back yard, great kitchen for cooking for a big family, perfect place to stay for our daughter’s graduation weekend from JMU. The host was great to communicate with and the house manager was available for any of our needs during our stay. Highly recommend!!

We were a group of 4 families with kids ages ranging from 3-10. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Sometimes the water pressure in the bathrooms gets low due to multiple people showering together at the same time in different bathrooms. Fully stocked kitchen, outdoor barbecue range, pool and hot tub are all well taken off and we enjoyed our stay here.

We had over 20 people stay comfortably at this amazing country home. Panoramic views across the valley, although we were here for the skiing (only 8 minutes away) we wished for summer to enjoy the pool and volleyball court! The house itself is incredible, beautiful construction with hardwood floors and large bedrooms… and a kitchen fit for a master chef with a Vulcan range and ovens! Great for large families and kids. Truly a large family home with space to spread out and a basement for games and play.

We stayed at this beautiful home with a couple of other families. We all went to JMU years (ok decades) ago and met up to spend NYE together. The panoramic views from most windows of this home are breathtaking. There is plenty of space for multiple families. We took advantage of the proximity to Massanutten Resort and went skiing/snowboarding. We also went to watch a JMU basketball game. The kids enjoyed seeing the horses and cows on the property. The property owners and manager were very prompt with communication. We had a great stay!

We - meaning all 23 of us for dinner 17 for 4 nights - had a perfect Thanksgiving in the very large and cozy, family friendly home. The house is beautiful and comfortable with gorgeous views outside all windows of the Shenandoah Valley. There are horses and long horned cattle! The kitchen handled the crowd well, although we did need to bring some extra big pans. A large family room with a stone fireplace that spanned an entire wall was perfect for the entire group to relax and enjoy. We had gorgeous walks right outside the door. The host made herself available to us when, for example, our ambitious cooking set off the fire alarms, and she was as warm and welcoming as her home. Altogether, a perfect Thanksgiving in a truly lovely home.

We used this property for a 10-year college reunion trip with friends and their families/children. When we arrived, the property was even more breathtaking than the pictures! Absolutely incredible and the house had everything our large crew could have dreamed of to help make our stay enjoyable, relaxing, and comfortable. We loved the fire pit, outdoor decks, space for kids to run around and play, and many group spaces for people to hang out and enjoy each other's company. The bedrooms were SO spacious for each little family to feel comfortable and well-rested. Additionally, the property owner and property manager were absolutely amazing in answering all of our questions ahead of time and during our stay. Many families commented that they want to come back again! The horses on property were a highlight for of all of the children and they loved getting to ride their bikes and scooters around the long, paved driveway.

What better month to see the leaves changing! Great views and the horses and longhorns were an added bonus!
Plenty of room for our family to meet and celebrate!
There were 20 of us!

The house and grounds are expansive and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were major contributors to the quality of our stay in late July. Bedroom on the top floor could have been cooler, but was OK with fans. Kitchen was well supplied and spacious. Panoramic views from every room. Owner made great suggestions for dining and recreation, as well as a great farmer's market in Harrisonburg.

This was our second time spending a week at this home and it gets better each year. The pool is the central point for my grandchildren and many an hour was enjoyed there. But the views and peacefulness of the Shenandoah valley were amazing.
The location is great for alternate activities at Massanutten Resort where we did summer tubing and the town of Shenandoah where we did river tubing. Mary and Debbie were quick to respond to questions or any issues that came up (there were none)
You won't be disappointed.

Our family of 14 had an awesome vacation last week. The surrounding mountains were beautiful. The well loved house was plenty of space for all of us. We enjoyed the pool and playing various ball games in the huge yard. Even though the weather turned cold and rainy, the family style kitchen area became the place of games, crafts and baking cookies. Hope to return in the future.

From start to finish this trip was EVERYTHING and more that we had hoped for!! This beautiful home was more than enough space for our party of 11 and had something that each person connected to!! Breathtaking views from every room in the house!! Both Mary Beth the owner and Debbie the caretaker of the property were AMAZING!!! We had an amazing time while there and we look forward to the chance to stay there again!! ♥️

We had a group of about 16, ranging from a couple of our teenagers to 50. The house accommodated everyone nicely! We made use of the grill and firepit and had many laughs over coffee on the back deck.
We were in town for a JMU football game and while this was out of the hustle and bustle of homecoming weekend crowds, it was super convenient to the school. We loved the space in the house as everyone had an area to suite them and their activities. It was quite accommodating of a large group! The owners were wonderful to work with and happily complied to a couple of requests that we made. We would absolutely return for another friends weekend! We will always remember our trip together here, as it was a wonderful one that also included seeing “our” JMU player make a touchdown!

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at this property. Unlike other reviews, we had no issues with bugs (perhaps due to the time of year), and the pictures online did not do the views or the house justice. We have already recommended the house to other friends!

I mean all I can say is wow! We absolutely loved the house and location. Everything was wonderful! The views were like a painting, we had to keep pinching ourselves to make sure we weren’t dreaming. The kids loved watching all the animals on the farm and the pool. We even took them to the children's museum in Harrisonburg. The house location was perfect, far enough away from the city noise but close enough to take a short trip if you wanted to do activities.

The house and property are impressive. The views are truly magnificent. The pictures on VRBO when we were looking in January are a bit dated and differ some from the current layouts, especially in the basement and there was one not two twin beds in the attic. All the essentials worked fine, but there are some maintenance issues in the kitchen with the griddle and oven doors not closing properly. The pool was enjoyed tremendously by adults and children alike but could have been cleaner and clearer. The pool would benefit from regular vacuuming, skimming, and chlorine treatments.

Fun Family Week
Our stay was very nice. Three generations of fun. The house is solidly built and an amazing property. There were a few maintenance issues that didn't really affect our stay, but our stay would have been enhanced without those minor issues. ~ One washer not working, flooded bedroom in basement on our last night (from heavy rain) ~

Incredible property and very warm hospitality
We stayed here during a beautiful October week to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Mary Beth and Debbie are welcoming and kind hosts. We loved the kitchen, porches, outdoor spaces, indoor couches, games. Great hiking nearby. It was lovely and perfect. Hope to return to this beautiful place again soon!!

Wonderful week at an amazing house
This is about as good as it gets for a quiet mountain getaway. Enormous house with tons of space, and an incredible 360 view of the mountains (sunrise from the kitchen, sunset from the front porch). The house is everything as advertised, and for any small issue, Mary Beth was very fast to respond and make things right (even to order us a missing tv remote).
I was impressed by the well stocked kitchen, and our family was surprisingly impressed with how good the local restaurants were (Thunderbird cafe, Romano Italian restaurant, 1835 smokehouse around the corner and a decent Mexican place who's name I forget).
The outside part of the house made the trip. 3 generations (ages 5-72) loved the pool area, and we spent the majority of our time in the pool area. The views by the pool were beautiful, and maybe the weather helped (it was late August and 90+ everyday), but the temperature of the pool was perfect.
If there was any downside to the property, it was the spotty internet. Not to say we couldn't get online, but streaming tv froze a lot (although compared to other mountain houses I've stayed in, the service was quite good). The bugs are also always present, but not to be unexpected considering the location.
All in all, we all agreed the house was well worth the money, and we discussed returning in the future.

Family vacation 2021
Great property, great pool, great views, relaxing - can do as much or just kick back. Due to the horses and longhorn cattle in field close to property, some bothersome fly's but only minor nuisance. Sand volleyball court got used a lot!

The yellow house on the hill
The view was incredible, the house comfortable, well designed and built. The pool was a huge hit with the kids. The nearby water park also provided additional entertainment.

Idyllic property/location; exceeded very high expectations
The property was very clean and comfortable, more than adequately stocked, and in an absolutely picturesque (and convenient) location.
Moreover, in terms of both proactive/reactive communications, the property owner/manager were timely, detailed and went above/beyond to ensure our trip was smooth/enjoyable.
We plan to visit again soon!

Family Vacation at Elkton, VA
Beautiful home, my family and I loved the house, we all had plenty of room and space even if you wanted quiet time to yourself. I really enjoyed family being together instead of separate hotel rooms. The pool and hot tub was a plus , the kids loved the pool. I have to say Debbie, the project manager was very nice and helpful. Debbie responds quickly to all your questions or concerns. There were horses , Bulls and Cows on the property but at a distance and fenced in :-). The scenery BEAUTIFUL!
There were some cons the insects, flies and gnats so many which I think was due to the animals. But never the less it was annoying and we had to clean in the morning the gnats from table, counter, window ledge and floor. The furniture needs an upgrade and the deck off the kitchen would be nicer if it was a screened in deck keep some of the insects away.
Would I vacation at this property again or recommend this property to anyone absolutely!
Thank you Mary Beth and Debbie.

Most relaxing weekend, at a beautiful home and property
This home is absolutely gorgeous. But the real gem, is this property. Surrounded by mountains, beautiful horses and cattle make for a great view from every window. The hosts are very accommodating and responsive. This home slept our group of 13 comfortably, with clean lines, ample bathrooms, and comfortable beds. This overall was a 5 star experience for our hiking group and we will certainly recommend.
*added bonus for the basketball hoop and dedicated playing area in the driveway.

Perfect spot for our graduation celebration!
We rented this property for our daughters graduation from JMU. It was a perfect location for us to relax and enjoy the long weekend with family. The location was absolutely beautiful with panoramic views from all sides! The porches are amazing and the cattle and horses provide great entertainment. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was very well equipped - we cooked in every night and found everything we needed. Beautiful spot for family gatherings! Mary Beth and Debbie were both great hosts and answered all of our questions. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We highly recommend the Panoramic Homestead and would love to return someday! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! 💛💜

Beautiful Property
Our stay was amazing. We truly enjoyed the tranquility of the property. The Pool was used a lot and the house offered plenty of room for all 18 of us. The only negative was the fact that we went during the pandemic and I assured that the house was cleaned from top to bottom and sanitized. This absolutely not the case. The patios had so many cobwebs that some of the ladies in our group spent about and hour cleaning them out, one of the stoves did not work properly but we made do with the one that did work. Other then the cleanliness of the house every body had a wonderful time.

Great stay
We rented the house to have a central place for family and friends the weekend of our daughter’s wedding. The home is fabulous - room for many and oh so relaxing. Thank you for your loving home that met all our needs. We only wish we had had more time just to spend in the house. Thank you!

Second visit and hope to return
Love the house, the views from the property, and the overall location. We had a weeklong family gathering and the pool and property accommodated us well. Only real drawback was we could have used one more bedroom.
