About this house rental
We are excited to welcome you to Ed’s Mountain House! My late husband, Ed, and I bought this modern, single family home in 2013 as a mountain get-away for us to enjoy with our son and dog on weekends away from the Denver area, as well as a vacation home to enjoy with visiting family and friends. Sadly, we lost Ed to a fierce battle with cancer in early 2015. We continue to enjoy the house ourselves, and we want to honor Ed’s passion for the Colorado Mountains by sharing this special place with others to enjoy too.
My brother, Jeff, helps me manage the property. He is also off site and manages his own vacation rental as well as other properties and will be the person who will initially contact you and available for questions and/or troubleshooting during your stay.
This house has accommodates up to 8 people, with 3 bedrooms & 2.5 bathrooms: a master bedroom with queen bed and attached master bathroom on the main level, and another full bathroom and two additional bedrooms on the 2nd level - one with a queen bed and the other with a queen bottom/twin top bunk bed. There is an additional half-bath off the kitchen on the main level, as well as a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room.
There is a small work/laptop desk with an office chair located in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Great for those who require to work on the go!
Key amenities include a spacious, fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher & microwave oven), gas fireplace, wifi internet access, 55" flat screen smart TV (no cable or satellite but ROKU apps available), front loading washer & dryer, hair dryers in both full bathrooms, a one-car garage (with ski & bike storage space), driveway & street snow plow service, outdoor gas grill and fenced backyard (great for dogs in this pet-friendly home!).
There is a $10 per night per pet charge, with a $100 cap per pet, per month. If not included in your initial charges, these fees will be added as a separate pay request after your booking is confirmed.
Ed's Mountain House is located in the Aspens at Eagles Nest neighborhood in Silverthorne, across the street from Ravens Golf Course, less than 1 mile from the Willowbrook Trailhead, a 5 minute walk to Trent Park with a trout fishing pond, bike path, playground and tennis courts; a sledding hill across the street near the gold course and only 1.5-2 miles to Silverthorne & Dillon restaurants and shopping, and of course close access to world class alpine skiing, snow shoeing, Nordic skiing, ice skating & other snow activities in the winter, and hiking, biking, fishing, boating & summertime fun parks in the spring through fall.
The house is centrally located to several Summit & Vail County ski resorts:
Keystone - 10 miles
Copper Mountain - 14 miles
Arapahoe Basin - 15 miles
Breckenridge - 17 miles
Vail/Beaver Creek – 35 miles
You will be given the exact address upon a confirmed booking, which will be once you have made your initial payment. Town of Silverthorne Short Term Rental License Account number 30579.
We hope you consider staying at Ed’s Mountain House for your Colorado Mountain getaway!

The house was exactly what we needed for our trip to Summit County. We had no issues during our stay.

We brought 4 of our grandkids for a couple nights and the house layout was great for us. It was middle of July and the upstairs bedrooms were quite warm for sleeping even with windows open, fans would be nice. The property managers were responsive and willing to help with a small issue. The area is very nice. There is a small park within 5 minutes walking distance and our grandkids and our dog really enjoyed going there.

We had a quick trip and enjoyed this home very much. The backyard was great for our pup. The beds were extremely comfortable and the town is amazing! The house had everything we needed to make our trip great!

The house is very comfortable and has EVERYTHING. Just needs a very good cleaning. There is layers of dust on the fans, lights and walls that caused the family to have allergies. The towels are a bit stained as well. It is very close to everything as well.

House was great! Much better than the pictures showed even :) …. Communication with owners was easy and quick.

It was not very clean. There were concrete mites and black mites on the bathroom and kitchen floors. The bottom sheets did not fit the bed. The remote garage door opener did not work.
It was a nice location and we managed but we would not stay there again.

Ed's Mountain House was the perfect place for our family of 4 to stay for several days while skiing each day at Keystone. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We were very thankful to be able to have our beloved dogs with us on this trip.
We would definitely stay here again!

This is a wonderful vacation home. Everything is thoughtfully organized and I would be surprised if you need something that is not already stocked.

Great location; clean, stocked and great for us
Really appreciated the opportunity to bring our pet. Location was perfect for our skiing at Breck and Keystone...just minutes away. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed; liked the coffee press touch, and Keurig machine (pods or ground options). It was nice to have a pantry area for all of our food. The under-stairs storage area also gave us extra room to toss anything and keep the areas tidy. Didn't need to utilize the large washer and dryer, but it is a great value-add. Garage was roomy enough for one of our vehicles and the driveway was very easy to pull in and out of (sharing with neighbor). Liked the idea of there being recycle. Grill worked well for our steaks and burgers. Thank you for providing snow shovels and salt; we de-iced the back porch for you (and future guests). The three bedrooms were nicely-sized. And thank you for those compact room fans - we didn't find them until day 3, but then they were great for circulating air. Kitchen was open and spacious. Thank you for the compact double-oven - that came in super handy. Everything was very clean. Plenty of linens. Nice big tv and channel choices. Also appreciate the large dining table - we played a lot of games. Nice large windows in the dining area kept everything very bright downstairs. Nice quiet neighbors. Thank you for having a few cleaning supplies available for guests so we could keep-up ourselves with tidy-ness if desired during the stay. Didn't have the chance to use the fancy hide-a-bed, but I bet it would have been comfy. Would highly recommend your rental and we appreciate your allowing us to use it. Ski In Peace Ed!

Great home in a quiet neighborhood & close to trails!
We had a fantastic stay and loved Ed's house. The house had everything we needed to feel at home and loved having the yard and proximity to trails. Our only feedback is the upstairs bunkbed is pretty squeaky. We suggest two twin beds or two twin bunkbeds so we can have more people in the house. We operate a ski camp for girls on Copper mountain and our staff stayed at the house. We will come back every year especially if those aforementioned changes are made!

Wonderful Weekend at Ed’s Mountain House!
We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate a family wedding. The property was exactly as pictured, amazingly clean, and so well appointed! Having the fenced yard was wonderful for my dogs, and a lovely retreat for us on sunny afternoons. I would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone, and will keep it in mind for myself in the future as well. Thank you!

Mountains and wild life
This is a great place. Friendly neighborhood, wild animals roaming around, and trails everywhere. There is a nice walk path along the river which is about 1/4 mile from the house. There is also a trail head about a mile from the house. It was a fun hike for the whole family.
There is good internet at the house. We had two adults working remote and a child on remote schooling. There were no disruptions in service.
Everything you need is within 5 miles of the house. Groceries, restaurants, playgrounds, a Target and an outlet mall.
The kitchen is well stocked.
My son pointed out a moose wandering across the street, while we ate breakfast. You can also watch the eagles across the street and see foxes hanging out in the same area.
It was a wonderful experience!

Great home, great location!
Our stay here was excellent. The house was exactly as advertised, and the location was great. There were nice walking trails accessible from right outside for my mom to jog every morning. The neighborhood was also very safe. And it was nicely located right between A Basin and Copper, which made it easy to check out both while we were there. The owner was also very responsive to our efforts to contact them. We would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in the area!

A Great Getaway!
This mountain house is cozy and welcoming. It is very well appointed and had everything we needed. Great communication from the owner. Lots of nice touches and updates. It’s in a good location. Pretty close to everything while also providing some privacy-being an end unit and having a fenced in yard. It was perfect for a few adults and a pet.

Love love this place
This is one of the BEST places we have stayed with VRBO. Lots of love in this house. We did a sleigh ride in Frisco which is a 15 minute drive. It was awesome. Due to COVID19, we were not able to do the dinner but went to the store and got steaks to cook on the BBQ. wonderful dinner. The house had everything we would possibly need and more. Very clean. We had dogs so the fenced yard was a real plus. We would love to stay here again in the spring. Highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay at Ed's Mountain House - it was just what our family needed! We were anxious about traveling during the pandemic but our experience could not have been better. The house is very, very clean and dog-friendly. Everything we needed was at the house and we were very comfortable. Silverthorne is a great spot for anyone looking to explore Summit County and we highly recommend this property!

Great Time and Great Place
We three seniors and our 20-pound Pug Meghan had 4 nights in Ed's Mountain House. Not only was the home spacious but it also offered us a large, well-appointed kitchen, which we appreciated because we are all hobby cooks and need to be careful to prepare GF menus. The home is located close to walking paths and to a Summit Stage stop which makes travel in the scenic and activity-filled area easy. We so appreciated the dog-friendly aspect of the home and of the charges. Many thanks for the preparation and location. We would certainly recommend the selection and would return.

Great property, excellent location for golfers!
Kristen and Jeff were very accommodating and easy to deal with. Kitchen is well equipped for foodies, high quality gas bbq grill. Fenced yard was perfect for our lively pup, and so many options for walking him. Park and wooded trails within 1/4 mile of the house. Excellent dog park just a mile away, great swimming pond even closer. We ‘ll be back!!!!

Wonderful stay in Silverthorne!
We had the best two weeks at Ed's Mountain Home! The home was perfect for us and our pups. Our hosts, Jeff and Kristen were very responsive to our sometimes silly questions (we were not familiar with radiant heating...) and we felt so welcome in this special home. The location is perfect for exploring Silverthorne and accessing all of the ski mountains. Our kids enjoyed skiing but we spent most of the time snowshoeing the abundant trails in the area. The house had literally everything we needed all conveniently labeled and organized. The beds were very comfortable and the water was always very warm for wonderful showers at the end of every day. Even our dogs had all the comforts of home. It snowed almost constantly while we were there and the plow was pretty prompt to clear the driveway. We would love to return one day soon!

Great place!
Awesome location and nice house. Well stocked (lots of places don’t have enough towels etc, this has everything you need). If it snows, you definitely need 4wd to get out of the driveway! Owners were super helpful.

Gorgeous views, great house, super convenient
We've stayed in quite few mountain houses and this one was our all-time favorite, especially if you're traveling with kids and dogs. the living area has beautiful views of the mountains that really feel like you are getting away, the neighborhood is quiet and doesn't feel crowded with people, yet you're just a couple minutes away from groceries and shops etc. Make sure to check out the Silverthorne rec center that's right down the street. Both the bathrooms and all the bedrooms in this house are very nicely updated. Very convenient that there's a garage you can actually park in, especially if it snows while you're there. Also check out the frisco adventure center with a great free sledding hill. We had such a great time and will definitely stay here again if it's available.
