Poipu Beach is the place to spend your vacation! Somewhere you are close to everything you want to do! This spacious and accommodating 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is centrally located in a prestigious South Shore neighborhood, at the end of a cul-de-sac, in the heart of Poipu. 1800 sqft one level gives a spacious setting with no stairs. The outdoor Atrium nestled in the middle of the home adds to its appeal, with double french doors to a private courtyard in the back fully fenced yard gives privacy and is a perfect place for barbecuing. This property makes this the perfect spot for any vacation! Available with this property are tennis courts and pool access within Subdivision. Within 50' of the front door is a park like green belt with a walking and biking path to the famous Poipu beach, and The Hyatt Hotel. The Hyatt hotel has seven Gourmet Restaurants located within, 6 Lounges serving fine wines, specialty cocktails and premium liquors are also available. The Luau Show on Thursdays and Sundays includes a Hawaiian buffet and showcases traditional Polynesian dance and culture. The ANARA Spa and Salon features massage therapy, Hawaiian body and facial treatments and hair care. A championship 18-hole golf course and pro shop, 3 tennis courts and pro shop, water sports center with equipment rental and horse stables are all on site. With all of this close by is also the famous Shipwreck beach, and Brennecke's where activity abounds as you enjoy swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, surfing, whale watching, and are sure to sight the Honu as they feed on the shore line. If you enjoy shopping, the upscale Poipu shopping center is just minutes away, or enjoy a more nostalgic experience in Old Koloa Town. This house was somehow better than the listing. So spacious and the property is beautiful with a great back patio space and cozy indoor/outdoor courtyard. Ten minute walk to several different beaches, a walking trail along the sea cliffs, amazing snorkelling, neighborhood pool, and more! I was initially concerned the walk would be too much for my 70 year old mom to do every day but she did great and was a little over a half mile to anything. The neighborhood is like a resort property so access to restaurants nearby as well. I don't think this house has bikes anymore.

This was an amazing place to stay. The house was super comfortable, spacious, and clean. It had everything we needed. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. It is an easy walk to beaches (Poipu usually has turtles). There is also a pool close by in case you need a quick cool down, or an easier trip than a beach. We would absolutely stay here again.

The house was perfect for our family. Great location close to beach and walking paths. Very clean and comfortable. Wonderful communication with host as well. We can’t wait to come back!

The house was advertised as air-conditioned but had only 2 cooling units, one in the kitchen and one in the master bedroom. The dining room, queen bedroom, twin bed room, and shared bath were uncomfortably hot. We were there in July 2023, and I would not have chosen this house if I had known about this problem. The day we arrived, there was no water in either shower. The husband of the house cleaner came and was able to get the shared bath shower to work, but the master shower only had water on the massage setting. It stopped working altogether later in the week. It was attached to the wall with a magnet, and fell off during my shower, hitting me in the head and causing a small lump. After many calls to the owner, it was finally replaced after we had been in the house for 7 days. Lastly, the house was advertised as having pool access. This was important to our two teenagers. We told the owner several times that the fob to open the pool did not work. The manager of the subdivision told us that the owner had to contact a locksmith to fix the problem. We never had pool access during the 10 days of our stay. Another issue was that the tenant's information book said that there were 2 bikes available, but there were not.

The house was great, comfortable and a quick walk to the beach. Nice neighborhood. We would definitely stay at this location again.

Mother celebrated her 90th while in Poipu and did so in style. Accessibility was adequate with no stairs and comfortable beds and walk in shower. Higher toilets and a couple of safety bars would have made it perfect. The electric lazy boy was a bonus for her. Clean, well lit and ventilated. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Poipu.

The house is charming, beautiful, clean, has comfortable beds, and is in a wonderful quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to stay in Poipu.
The beach was more like 10 minutes rather than 2 though. Other than that, it was a Hawaiian heaven.

Place had everything: great location right on the trail to both Poipu beach and the Grand Hyatt, responsive owners and just the right amount of space for our family with 3 girls, 10-15. And we love the private back alcove. Highly recommend

Amazing Home
Really felt like home. The house was clean, had everything anyone would need for a vacation in Kauai - outdoor items (big ones too) as well. Kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of utensils and appliances. Layout of the house was really nice and location was superb.

Mit viel Liebe zum Detail ist es eingerichtet und entsprach in allen Belangen der Beschreibung. Leider waren die Fahrräder gerade nicht verfügbar und auch der Wäschetrockner funktionierte nicht, was für uns aber nicht weiter schlimm war. Wir genossen die Zeit sehr und hoffen, vielleicht eines Tages an diesen wunderbaren Ort zurückkehren zu können. Dank an Shelley und ihre Familie, dass wir Gast in ihrem hübschen Haus sein durften! Beautifully decorated and nestled in a welcoming neighborhood! Our family of five ( with 3 being tall, teenage boys) was very comfortable in this home. We all had plenty of room to spread out- especially loved the atrium room.
The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook each night. We made a trip to Safeway ( about 25 minutes from the house) to stock up at the beginning of our visit and we were all set for the entire stay.
It was a short 10 minute walk to either Brennecke's Beach or Shipwreck Beach. You can also drive to both if you wanted to. Shipwreck was our son's favorite for great body surfing. The house was the perfect setting to come home to and relax each day after playing at the beach. The outdoor shower and private yard was perfect to keep the sand out of the house!
The house had plenty of boogie boards, mini coolers, beach umbrella, beach towels, etc. You just need to bring yourself!
The homeowner Shelley was very easy to work with and made the whole booking process enjoyable!
We would definitely book this home again. It was exactly what we were looking for. A very comfortable home away from home!

Ultimately we were shocked to discover on checkout that she had withheld well over half of our damage deposit for "abuse" without any notice or ability to contest the charge. It was an absurd experience that made us wonder how we could have possibly avoided such a situation, given that we had been completely honest with Shelley, tried to communicate with her clearly, and cared for the house responsibly. There are many other vacation rentals in the area we would advise you to seek out instead to avoid the stress of dealing with an unreasonable and inconsiderate owner.

The home was wonderful... very comfortable and everything we could possibly need was there. Lots of toys for the beach and having the use of the bicycles was a bonus! We trekked all around the area... so fun! The house is situated perfectly between shipwreck beach and Poipu beaches, so easy access to shopping, restaurants and beaches!! We loved the evenings listening to the wind through the palm trees... didn’t miss A/C at all!!! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home... truly a gem!! We had a wonderful experience.

Great home and location
The home was wonderful... very comfortable and everything we could possibly need was there. Lots of toys for the beach and having the use of the bicycles was a bonus! We trekked all around the area... so fun! The house is situated perfectly between shipwreck beach and Poipu beaches, so easy access to shopping, restaurants and beaches!! We loved the evenings listening to the wind through the palm trees... didn’t miss A/C at all!!! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home... truly a gem!! We had a wonderful experience.

We spent 2 wonderful weeks here. Loved the layout of the house, especially the outdoor atrium. House was well stocked and clean. We really appreciated being able to use all of the beach equipment! The only thing I would say, is that it's more of 10-15 minute walk to Poipu beach-a very nice walk along the greenbelt, but definitely more than the 5 minutes listed in the description. We ended up driving to the beach because it was easier with a baby, toddler and beach gear-but this would not stop us from staying here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We had a comfortable stay. Loved the quiet neighborhood. Great coast walk either east or west. Well stocked kitchen plus paper products and dish and hand soap. Plenty of towels and linens. Maps app did not give accurate directions; it was off by one block west

No AC but we knew that from the start. Good news is you acclimate after 2 days. If you are like us you leave in the morning and get back after watching the sunset anyway. Lots of fans and cool showers help. We were so active we didn't care but if you have small children and are used to AC you may want to find a different place. Great jetted tub, outside showers for post-beach fun, boogie boards, bicycles, great kitchen, bbq, lots of amenities. 5 out of 5 for our family.

We had a big family celebration, our daughter had childhood cancer and we were celebrating 20+ years of being cancer free. The location is fantastic being so close to Poipu Beach, a five minute walk down the path. There is a community pool that was wonderful on non beach days. The house is beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. We like to cook, even on vacation, the kitchen was well equipped. The master bedroom is on one side of house which was really nice for us it gave my husband and I just a little separation from our daughters family, artrium in the middle of home, cool house! There were boogie boards, beach toys, beach chairs, etc... The owner was great, answered all our questions quickly. This is a great place to stay in paradise.

Great house in great location!
Wonderful home for our Kauai vacation! Perfect location to walk to the Hyatt or down to Brenneckes beach. Home was great for a family of 5 and was well equipped. There is a cute outdoor shower and hammock that we loved as well as a ton of supples for outdoor activities! Would definitely stay here again!

Loved the house and the location. Walking distance to many wonderful attractions and beaches in Poipu area. The owner was very responsive and the place was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a family of 5 to enjoy our vacation on Kauai island.

Nicely decorated home with central location
We are so grateful to the owners of this rental for allowing us to book at the last minute after another location fell through. This home was perfect for us! Quiet but close to beaches and stores and entertainment. We really had a great time.

Perfect vacation home
We had a perfect stay in this beautifully decorated home. The home had everything we could possibly need during our stay including surfboards, laundry, wifi, nice backyard. Neighborhood was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Any issues or questions we had were answered/resolved immediately. We hope to stay here again in the future!

The house was well-kept. The place included everything we needed. Close to beaches, golfing and restaurants. Short walk to the grand Hyatt. Owner and house keeper very responsive. Air conditioning did not work although we did not need one.

Great Stay!
Our family was quite comfortable in this lovely, airy home. It was much larger than we expected with a gorgeous master bedroom and bath. The location and neighborhood are great with nice beaches in walking distance. The owner also offered us use of snorkeling gear, boogie boards, bikes, etc... My husband and I also played tennis at the nearby Poipu Kai tennis center. We would definitely stay here again!

The house was excellent. It was spotless & the location was perfect for our family.
We were very happy with this property. The kitchen had everything you would ever need. We enjoyed the outdoor patio & appreciated having beach chairs etc available for our use. Shelley responded to any questions we had quickly. Highly recommend this property.

Came over from Oahu for the weekend. Beautiful house that is well kept up and has everything you need. Close to the golf course and beautiful beaches.

Our two week retreat from the North
We had a wonderful time at the Hummingbird Retreat. The property was exactly as advertised and in a lovely neighbourhood. My wife and I took advantage of all the walking trailing around the property and was amazed at the weather we had on this trip. There were only the two of us, so didn't use not even half of the house. The furnishings were lovely and well maintained. This part for me is the most important; we had a couple of very small things that required the owners attention. We made the call and in less than 15 mins. the proper folks showed up to take care of things. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. 5 mins. to Grand Hyatt, 5 mins. to Poipu beach, 5 mins to a couple of great restaurants. We had a blast. Thank-you Shelly for a very relaxing vacation.

Beautiful house, but no hot water :(
The house and yard were both beautiful. Great layout, well-maintained and walkable to two beaches, several restaurants and shops via the pedestrian greenbelt. Would have given it five stars, but there is no hot water in the house. The booklet with house instructions says this is intentional, and that the hot water heater is on a timer and will not come on during the day, but we found that there was no hot water at all (day or night). This made bath time for our toddler a miserable experience, and left us feeling that our dishes were never really clean. I get the need to conserve but think this decision deserves a second look.
