You can practice surfing right at our house using our free surf bards or bogie boards or taking classes at the surf shack next door. Walking distance to all restaurants, shops, supermarkets, bars and more! Surf tournaments are taking place every weekend. Beautiful Los Suenos Marina is where over 200 fishing boats are located. Boats can be booked for day fishing trips ranging from 18 feet to 55 feet in length. You can catch all varieties of deep sea fish depending on the season. Sailfish, marlin, rooster fish, yellow fin tuna, mahi mahi and Spanish mackerel are but a few of the many types of fish that can be caught. Costa Rica coastline is one of the best sports fishing locations in the world.

Fifteen of us stayed for six days. They kept asking where I found this wonderful place. The house was perfect for us. The pool was so warm and welcoming. The beach was perfect. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing. Many enjoyed the surf and leaning to surf. The food that the chefs cooked for us was absolutely delicious. We appreciated the scheduling help from Tia.

I stayed at this property with my family and it was more than I could have imagined. The house was located right on the beach and we were able to surf right out front. Tia, Ronny and the cleaning staff were awesome, they took great care of us. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking to come to Jaco. Thank you for everything, I can't wait to come back!

First off, the house is nice and the staff are great. We had a nice time here for a few days. We were visiting with 14 family members for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, my family member was bitten by beg bugs on her legs, abdomen, and face. The sheets had red/brown stains suggesting the presence of bed bugs and the mattress had large dark brown stains also suggesting bed bugs. My family member went to the doctor who confirmed the bed bug bites. We left the home after discovering the issue and needed to stay in a hotel. The owner of the home did not take responsibility for the bed bugs and blamed the beach. The owner hired an exterminator to visually inspect the property and they did not see any bed bugs. That said, it may have been an early infestation with a few bugs which could be extremely hard to find visually (is what our doctor said). Plus the mattress and sheets showed evidence as well. Ultimately the ownership did what they could, but we did not feel comfortable staying at the home and needed to leave. The owner has so far refused to give us a refund despite the evidence from the doctor, the dirty sheets, and the mattress. They said they would fumigate the place (they also need to replace these mattresses).
Overall we were having a great time even if Jaco isnt the best spot in Costa Rica (not the prettiest beach and downtown is not tourist friendly), but the house cleanliness left my family member bitten on her face and us stuck in a hotel.

Home is well equipped and is really a great layout for a large family. We were 17 and we fit with no problem. Tia the concierge, was a great asset. She helped with excursions, chefs, restaurants and any other questions we had. Robbie who was the on site manager/security was always there to help. nice property. Would return again.

The home is positioned on the south end of Jaco Beach so away from the hustle of the town. The ocean floor in front of the home is terrific for ocean sports. The gentle, high tide waves are perfect for beginner surfers.
The home accommodates a large group. We slept 16 easily among 3 young families. There were some needs during our stay and the property manager was very responsive.
There are full-time security guards so safety was never an issue.

We spent 10 days at Casa Rio Mar over Christmas and New Year's. What a perfect location to celebrate the holidays. Perfect weather every day in an amazing location. Everything is close by - restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and plenty of activities. Casa Rio Mar sits oceanfront in Jaco and really includes all amenities needed to enjoy a fantastic break. Matt was a great host, offering local advice on things to do, places to go, and lined up some amazing adventures during our stay. Sun, sand and surf at your doorstep!
Our activities:
-Fishing out of Herradura. Matt lined us up with an outstanding Captain. We caught six large Mahi and two sailfish. Captain Henry and first mate Will were amazing.
-A day at Tortuga Island with the entire family, included snorkeling, sun on a small quaint island.
-A day at The Ranch at Ocean Park where we rode ATV's, zipline, waterfall repelled and rode horses. The all day pass includes lunch at their new restaurant and a guide for the day. Jose was incredible! And only 15 minutes outside of Jaco.
-New Year's Eve sunset horseback ride with Cowboy Tours for the entire family. So fun, well timed and organized.
-Monkey Mangrove Tour was so cool. A two hour tour on a boat with a guide. We had Crazy Alex as our guide, who could speak to the animals - amazing. We saw many monkeys, iguana, raccoon, birds and various plant species.
-Matt lined up a couple of excellent chefs to cook for us at dinner. What a great experience and the food/service was impeccable.
No need to rent cars. Rent golf carts or cab around town. The security guards were excellent, taking care of us and the home. Jaco Beaches are very well maintained. Surfing was great for all ages and abilities.

We had a wonderful vacation at Casa Rio Mar. All of us, from the litlle 4 years up up to the eldest 55; we all had a amazing time. Pool, sand, sun, ocean, volleyball, beach soccer, bbq. There was nothing missing. The house is great and all the assitance included. Definetely we are coming back!!!

We booked this property with our whole family as a treat for our 35th anniversary. Matt was so accommodating with ages ranging from 3 months to 60 years. Only one problem was not being able to rent crib reasonably. Had to bring a Pack 'n Play on the plane. The pool and beach were so close that we could take the kids to either without being far from needed items. We sat by the beach with our coffee in the morning while the kids played in the sand or adults went to the ocean. As it got hotter during the day we used the pool or enjoyed a beer in the beautifully groomed yard. Everyone got a kick out of the iguanas that would scoop up our food scraps in the back yard. Going to town was easy with a taxi and just a few $. We had a chef come in and cook for us 2 nights which was wonderful and reasonable with all the leftovers we had the next day. The house was large enough for all of us (8 adults and 4 children). We didn't do any excursions as we have been to Costa Rica twice b4 and we just wanted to relax and enjoy our kids and grandkids, however 4 of the kids went zip-lining and really enjoyed it. We always felt very safe and our security guard/ grounds keeper was 24/7 helpful with whatever we needed. (Transportation, tours, translation, clean-up maintenance, etc.) We only had one suggestion for Matt, ceiling fans. Keep up the good work, this family from Wisconsin will always remember the great time we had at Casa Rio Mar.

By far the best stay I've had in all the countries I've traveled to. We were a group of 7 guys, and from the moment we stepped into the house, Matt who I guess you would call our property manager (wore many hats including FRIEND, concierge, travel guide) was very accommodating. The house was huge, and immaculate when we came in for our 3 day stay. We were surprised to find out that we had 24 hour security, who were two of the nicest guys one could ask for. They were very responsive to all our needs and made sure no one came on the grounds that was not welcome. The sunset/sunrise from the front of the house is indescribable, and being steps away from the ocean is priceless. Overall was a 5+ star experience, and wouldn't look elsewhere to stay for the next trip. Matt suggested we use his chef and bartender for our gentleman's sit down dinner, and I would highly recommend using them as well. The Mojito's and Costa Rican food/drinks that were made, were memorable and really let us enjoy the Costa Rican food in a high end fashion.

I am so glad that we chose this property for our trip to Jaco! The property was right on the beach with awesome sunsets and a short walk to the water, and a great pool if we wanted to just lay back and lounge. The house was spacious and allowed our group of 8 to spread out with enough room to relax, but also had great spaces for us all to come together and hang out. The staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful with everything we needed. They have all kinds of suggestions from restaurants to tours and activities. This place was clean and comfortable and they thought of everything. We will definitely come back and stay here! Thanks again!

I spent a week here with 4 others and we all loved the house and location. The water view and sunsets were spectacular. Matt and Jim were more than accommodating with great tips for tours and restaurants. Don't miss the tours! Tukan Tours was excellent. Andrey was our guide on 2 full day tours and he was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had planned to rent a car but it was not necessary. Easy cheap cabs. We had a full time guard as well.

Our family of 10 had a wonderful time in Jaco beach. Being right on the beach was an invaluable asset to this nice home, as our kids could go right out the door and surf, boogie board, or swim in the beautiful private pool anytime they wanted - which was every day. The location was perfect. It was an easy 20 minute ( mostly beach) walk to town; right next door to a hotel that had a very nice restaurant with excellent food and a cool tiki/bar which we frequented; and shirt drive to many exciting excursions. We went fishing twice, zip lining, did an aerial tram through the rain forest, white water rafting, and a hike through Manuel Antonio National Forest where we saw numerous sloths, bats, frogs, tropical birds, and arrived on a gorgeous white sand beach. The owner and property manager really worked hard to make things run smoothly- quick and responsive to our needs and any repairs needed- even purchasing a brand new washer/dryer and set of pots and pans when the others were not repairable. One of our favorite things was hitting the chefs. They were very skilled and so friendly and helpful. What a way to pamper yourself and family after a long adventurous day!

This was our 2nd stay at this property. The house was in great condition and the owner was easy to get ahold of. We like coming back to this property because of the location and how safe we feel with our family there having a gated property with 24 hour security. We almost never left the property other than to get groceries during our entire stay.

I booked the Casa Rio Mar for five couples for a 50th birthday celebration. The house is perfect for a group of this size and sits directly on Jaco Beach with its own pool (right in front of the beach) and balconies and seating areas in the front and back of the house. It is beautiful. The property manger Susan) and owner (Jim) were fabulous. Susan arranged EVERYTHING for us, including group excursions, surfing lessons, dinner reservations, a special order cake (awesome!!), massages on the beach, chef service multiple nights, transportation and many other things I have surely forgotten. I highly recommend Casa Rio Mar.

We were a group of 5 adult couples. The house was beautiful and clean. Susan the house manager was always helpful and professional. We were picked up on time from the airport, and for all our tours. The beach literally abuts your back yard, and the pool and yard area was spectacular. We selected to have chef services for a couple of dinners and a breakfast, and the food was superb. For 10 adults we paid about $100 in groceries plus the chef fees. All the security guards were helpful, but Hosea was soooo nice and helpful, we considered him part of our group. The only thing I would say that was not as I expected, was the 1st floor bedroom was listed as having a queen bed, it was actually a full/double bed. Susan the house manager, and Jim the owner were a pleasure to talk to and did everything in their power to make this a vacation we won't forget. We are definitely coming back again!

The pool was a highlight for the kids and adults. The beds were comfortable and showers were hot with good water pressure. We enjoyed the large kitchen and common dining/family area. Really conducive for large groups to hang out together comfortably. The property manager was so helpful - almost our personal concierge! The property is very close to town so easy to get taxis in for dinner. Really a wonderful experience!
