The cabinets and carpet were extremely dirty. This property needs a good cleaning.

This house is in a great location. It’s on the flat ground, no walking uphill from the port and is close to Vons grocery store. The description of the house setting & amenities are as described. We have 8 people in our group & the house is big enough and we feel comfortable to share our space. The kitchen is fully stock. One evening we got to use the BBQ grill & had dinner on the patio. We consider to stay here again when we visit Avalon.

Perfect setup for us. My daughter and her husband loved the “outside” shower and private downstairs room and the upstairs for us was perfect. Clean and nice!

Lots of space with 6 beds, more than enough for 6 adults. Decor was homey and comfortable. Gas fireplace was a plus!! Having a golf cart would have made it ideal, but the walk to town was easy. Vons supermarket at the end of the block was also great.

The house and views exceeded our expectations.

Perfect house for our group of cousins. So easy to access and quiet part of Avalon. Loved all the fun family memorabilia!

We had a marvelous time . The house was clean and had a beautiful patio perfect for our size group (6). The neighbors were very loud in the late evening though.

Such a great house and picturesque. Everything we needed and all of the features we wanted. Liked the house, tvs and of course the fully equipped kitchen. Super close to Vons and more quiet than being close to the beach, even though it’s still close…Don’t think about it. Just book it! Catalina is awesome. Btw, loved all the decorations and pictures inside the house. Such a rich history!

The property was just as expected except for the zero toilet paper @ the house . And after traveling for 4 + hours the ladies in our group were agitated . I had to walk to the vons store for TP .

This Catalina beach home was perfect for our family, with plenty of space for both group activities and alone time. The home is close to the market (Vons), restaurants, bars, donuts and ice cream! What more can you ask for?

We enjoyed our 2nd year at Catalina Island. This house was great, big kitchen, nice patio with good BBQ. We enjoyed all the historical and family photos around the house.

Overall nice stay, only one shower was a challenge the downstairs bathroom has a tub. Also be sure to buy a couple of bars of soap if you stay more than 1 day because the micro-soap provided only lasts a day. Buy toilet paper too because you only get the roll on the holder in each bathroom, same with paper towel, 1 roll so if you stay for a few days and have kids, better stick up too on that. Upstairs very hot if the weather is over 75 during the day outside.. fans only do so much. Very noisy from very busy street corner, trash truck, street sweeper, golf carts and fire trucks/ambulances all pass by (so close to firehouse and city yard). Our family is easy going so all this was overlooked when we just enjoy each other on vacation.

Charming Family Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Johnson Family cottage on Catalina. There is a lot of history in this house that we appreciated and tried to respect. Reading the binder about the cottage and it’s occupants really made us feel as if we became apart of its history. We especially liked the outside shower attached to the downstairs bathroom, ample sleeping quarters, and the proximity to the grocery store and other Avalon businesses. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to choose one of bedrooms in the back of the house to avoid the noise of golf cart traffic. I would definitely stay here again.

Loved staying here
We had a great experience here. We arrived early on Friday and was told the house was ready and we could go in now. Wonderful news for us with all our luggage.
The house is really cute with lots of family photos all over and sits on the end of the street so there is a patio to sit outside and watch all the carts of people passing by. A little loud but very nice to sit outside.
It’s an old house so some of the dresser drawers were broken and we had an issue with the garbage disposal but over all a great place to stay.
Checkout morning we were all running behind and was able to get a later check out. Again awesome news!!! We didn’t have to carry all of our stuff around all day and some were able to sleep in. We had 7 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room for all.

Spacious and Charming-Highly recommend
We rented 2 houses for 14 people for the weekend…we had plenty of room to bbq and play card games at the huge dining table and patio area. The location was perfect- close to everything it not so close that we couldn’t have some quiet time too. The house has so much history and was so cozy…we enjoyed figuring out from the book they have and all the pictures that a beautiful captain and his family must have lived there. It felt like we got to stay at our grandparents family home. Kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we ever have rented and the heater and fireplace worked great There we’re plenty of clean towels, blankets, games, movie and music cd’s. We’ve rented many house over the years in Catalina and this was by far the best house yet. We definitely will be renting this house again when we have a large party because the house was very spacious and accommodating for our group and our 2 handicapped veterans as well.

Lovely Family get-away on Catalina Island
Cute cottage close enough to everything yet far enough away from any noise. Very peaceful, quiet and comfortable.

Loved this little house ❤️🏡
We absolutely loved this property! The location was perfect, walking distance from everything we wanted to do. The house has soooo much history and we loved the extra booklet that the family provided so we could read up on the history of the island, the house and the family history of property owners. We will definitely rent this house again!!

The location close to Vons and the excellently equipped kitchen made this a great place for family dinners.

fun, homey house in Avalon
Although it rained almost the entire time we were in Avalon, we loved reading by the gas fireplace in this funny, homey house. There was lots of space for the 8 of us to spread out, the kitchen was totally stocked with everything we needed to cook a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner (unusual in a rental property), and we had a great time. Would come back again (hopefully without the rain this time around!). Highly recommended.

Amazing Catalina weekend trip!!!
We absolutely loved staying in this quaint bungalow that had a cozy feel but plenty of space for our group of friends. The house location was perfect, close to Vons and walkable to everything. Inside was very clean and all amenities worked great. We will definitely be back and recommend this rental to anyone looking for a fun Catalina getaway. Cheers!

September 2019 Stay
This place is a dump. Overpriced and below standard. The beds are beyond old; rickety and uncomfortable. One shower in a shared bathroom and downstairs bathroom no shower. The furniture is old and dusty. One reclining chair broken and goes so far back we almost fell out. Cobwebs above my bed. This company should have a standard and the owners of this house should keep it up better especially at this price. Won’t use this company again. Next time I’ll get a nice hotel room. Asked company to move us and all the offered was to send cleaning. Pathetic. Like they didn’t even listen to our complaints.

Perfect for our directors retreat!
The house was well stocked with all the things you need from home. The outside shower was super cool. Close to town, grocery store only a block away. Sleeping was perfect for co-Ed sleeping of 10 adults. Just a perfect place

Family meeting capability
We rented two places to accommodate a large family celebration of our 50th Anniversary. This site allowed dining capacity seating for the group. The outside grill is fed by natural gas, no propane trip necessary. Fit our needs perfectly.

Great family reunion!
Cozy beach cottage comfortably slept 8 adults, very well equiped kitchen and outdoor space with a grill.

Great Location
The property itself is very nice. We enjoyed it very much. The people who run it, not so much. If you can’t arrive and check in before 5:00, you have to call a different number and leave a message. They call you back, but then leave you standing outside the locked office, which is not the property itself for a very long time. At least that was our experience. I was left with the feeling that we were lucky to get to stay there at all. Quite arrogant.

Loved this historical house
I must admit when first entering on a very hot August day and all the windows buttoned up it was extreamly warm in the house. No problem I thought I"ll just turn on the AC, after re-reading the house instructions in bold print " This house has NO AC". Just as most of the older homes on the island. So getting off on the wrong foot was no help. However the island has a way of calming travelers nerves and reading about the history of the house we began to enjoy the uniqueness of this old house. Thank you for letting us stay.

Beautiful Home
We stayed here for a family vacation. Home furnishings are a bit dated but clean and had everything we needed. Comfy beds. Location was a quick walk to beach.

Perfection!
Magical little house- perfect for our family. Terrific location and the wonderful family history book left by the owners made us feel like part of their family! We will definitely rent this place every time we come back, and will probably even arrange our vacations around its availability!!

Perfect for us
In previous reviews we saw that people commented on the noise during the day with traffic. That was true but it didn’t bother us at all as most days we were out and about. By 9-10 pm, everything goes quiet and we all had great nights sleep. We used the gas grill 2 nights for dinner and it works great. We had a gourmet chef with us and she did our cooking and she/we ere impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked for preparing our meals. The beds were all super comfy as well as the comfy pillows. There were 6 adults in our group and all were pleased with this home. Yes we would/will use it again. The location was perfect.

Charming mid-century house close to the harbor
We loved this home at the end of the residential area near the harbor! It was filled with
a lot of history of Catalina that was fun to see and read. The kitchen has been re-done and had all you would want to cook your own meals. The rest of the home was well kept up also.
We slept 8 adults in the house very comfortably with the master bedroom downstairs.
Especially liked the location near a park and also not far from the harbor and shopping.
We would go back in a heartbeat!
