You will have beautiful views of the lake from three sides of the Cedar House, thanks to the 2011 tornado! The property is still wooded, but the views are amazing. Get away from the hustle and bustle of town and watch the sunset from the open deck, or have coffee and watch the sunrise from the covered porch. Early morning risers will enjoy watching the deer saunter through the property and hummingbirds flit around the feeders.. Fireflies will enchant you in the evenings! On cool winter evenings, enjoy the chimenea on the deck, or the fireplace in the living room.
Swim in beautiful Grand Lake. Rent a boat or jetski and get out on the lake and you will understand why we love it here!
Cook out on the grill, or drive a few minutes to Ketchum for dinner. Other good restaurants are within 20 minutes. Or, there are several casinos within an hour of the Cedar House!
Our home has slate floors and countertops in the living, dining, bath and kitchen areas - wet feet don't bother us! Lovely pine flooring is in the bedrooms.
One queen-sized bedroom upstairs, one queen-sized bedroom downstairs en suite. One upstairs bedroom perfect for children - bunk beds and a twin bed, with children's books and games.
The owner's home is located down the hill. Your small boat can tie up to the side of our dock. There is a gazebo on the owner's property that you are welcome to enjoy. You will long remember your peaceful vacation at The Cedar House!

Our trip started off rocky first couple of days but ended well. We struggled at first one because we have stayed at several VRBO locations over the years and we have never had an issue with the kitchen not being stocked with what we need to be able to cook with. We had to go to Dollar General and get several kitchen utensils and pans just to cook what we bought as a menu. There is very little kitchen supplies only really odd and ends stuff, very scares as far as a kitchens being fulstocked this one has been the least. Also the air conditioner downstairs was broke and the temperature in the house was over 80. The upstairs bedrooms have a window units in them but in order to keep it cool enough we had to put towels under the door and keep them shut to allow them to cool off and there was no air at all in the upstairs bathroom so it got pretty hot in there. By our last full day the owner sent a repair guy for the air conditioner and he said that it should of been serviced a long time ago. He unfroze the line and added some Freon and cleaned it out and by the evening on our last night it was much cooler than before. When we arrived there was a charcoal that was dumped out with an empty bottle of fire starter on the deck by the grill and the front porch had pine needles all over it. In the kitchen countertops several pieces of tile was loose around the bar and ends. We traveled with my parents who are retired and we weren’t told how far the water was from the house until after we arrived. It was located up two very long hills and had no boat ramp to put our pontoon boat in and out. My mom made the walk only once because it was too hard on her to walk that distance especially with it being so hot inside and out. She had to stop and take 3 breaks along the way so unfortunately she didn’t get to come and enjoy the lake part with the rest of the family but only once. I struggled so I know it was much worse for her. Owner did respond to our questions but we had to leave a voicemail most of the time. The first day I ask her about the air conditioner and she called back and left me a voicemail on how to operate the thermostat. I know how a thermostat works but it was the air conditioning not working properly. We arrived on a Wednesday and left early Saturday morning. They sent the repair guy on Friday afternoon so the last evening was great. Great place to stay if you don’t mind the long walk to the water and you bring what cooking tools you need with you.

Family Getaway
The house was nicely furnished, the kitchen well stocked and the beds comfortable. All ages enjoyed the slide, diving board and swimming off the dock. Barbara was very attentive to our concerns and quick to respond to any questions. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

Family Tulsa visit
We had a wonderful time at the property with our family including 3 small children (2, 4 and 6) and small dog! The yard was spacious and private with fantastic views of the lake from the deck. The kids especially enjoyed swimming in the lake and jumping off the dock. Can't wait to go back!

Property is great. Nice outdoor porch partly covered. Some view of lake through trees.
Good. Only drawback is very long walk to dock and walk back to house. Is all uphill. Golf cart would be good. People who own house are very nice and house is nicely decorated.

Our stay at the Cedar House was great! It was perfect for our two families (we had 4 kids total, ages 5-8) The house itself is really nice, and it's well-stocked. The views from the deck are gorgeous. The owners are so nice and accessible for any questions you may have. Our only problem was that the dock is actually a pretty long walk down a steep hill (the house is lake view, not lake front), which is difficult when you're hauling heavy coolers up and down and wrangling kids. But overall, this house is a great family vacation house!

Thanks so much for letting our family use your home, we had a great time at Grand Lake and using you wonderful porch every night for dinner. Very quiet during the week, it was as if we had the entire lake to ourselves. I'm am sure the weekends are a different story.

Our family traveled from the Dallas areas for a week at Cedar House. We were impressed with Cedar House and our family of five and two dogs had a blast. The house has a tremendous view of the lake at any time of the day. It is also very clean and offers all of comforts of home. The dock access for our boat and kids was fantasic. We had the boat on the water for the entire week enjoying tubing, cruising, and even drove over to the dam for an tour and lunch. Diving and sliding off the dock was a lot of fun for everyone. We would highly recommend Cedar House to anyone looking for a relaxing lake vacation.

We stayed here for a long weekend with our 4 adult kids and infant grandson. The house worked well for us, and the dock access was a MAJOR plus! It's a bit of a hike to get down there, but well worth it. Another major plus was being pet friendly so we could bring our dog with us. Unusual for a house rental, the kitchen had lots of leftover staples, which was good, although some of them were not in good condition, and should have been thrown away. We really enjoyed the laid back nature of Grand Lake - much calmer than its peer to the northeast. The owners were very pleasant and helpful.

This house if perfect for a wide variety of guests. We rented the house for just two of us and our small dog, but ended up bringing a good friend and her 80+ year old aunt. The upstairs has two bedrooms and a full bath, the downstairs has the bath with the shower and the Master bedroom with a private bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with pans/covered Pyrex an all sorts of utensils and plenty of plates/bowls/cups and serving dishes. Dinning room table is large and comfortable for all. The floors are beautiful - slate and polished wood. The main deck is covered and well shaded with plenty of chairs to enjoy the view. Owners are just a call away if you get lost trying to find the property or have any questions.

Perfect!
We celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday at the Cedar House and had a great time. This house is perfect for entertaining, cooking dinners (we love to cook!) and enjoying the outdoors. We comfortably fit 11 people around the dinner table and had more than enough dishes, silverware etc to accommodate everyone. My nephews (7 & 5) loved the bunk beds and swing set and walking down to the dock... very kid friendly. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, we had thunderstorms everyday (but 1!) but we couldn't have picked a better place to be rained in, with the covered porch we could still be outside. When we come back to Grand Lake to visit my family we will stay here, can't wait to be back when it's sunny and hot! Thank you for everything!

Cedar House is wonderful!
My husband Jim and I would rather spend time at Cedar House than any other place on beautiful Grand Lake. The house is wonderfully comfortable, and its shady deck is cool and quiet if you don't mind the hummingbirds whirring around! We look forward to many more visits to this hospitable and lovely place.
The owners were generous and discreetly helpful -- a wonderful experience!

Grand Lake Deer Creek Getaway
Wonderful setting tucked inside a nice treed area with a view of the lake. We wanted a place to get away and relax and this worked. We had a great time swimming on the dock. Enjoyed the outdoor porch area for breakfast - a great way to start the day. The house is user friendly - the kids played upstairs and outside on the swingset/clubhouse equipment while we enjoyed the porch and had a cookout. Kitchen has everthing needed for cooking. Secluded getaway with plenty of room on large lot. Kids played badminton, croquet, and football. Lake area with many trees that has plenty of areas for taking long peaceful walks. we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Thank you.

not lake view in summer
"paid premium price for a lake view location but felt the owners description of view and location were misleading. you could NOT see the lake from any position of the house during our stay this summer. You had to walk down driveway then walk down past two homes to get to their dock."
