About this cabin rental
*Steps being replaced by a New Tram coming 2024* see below for more details.
Discover Norris Lake At Our Peaceful Log Cabin Retreat! Our secluded, spacious 2,200 sq/ft., lakefront home offers exceptional mountain and lake views with all the modern amenities. Whether it's a memorable family vacation, a trip to the local ATV parks, a romantic get-away or that long-awaited fishing trip, our home is the perfect setting. Our home sleeps 14 guests comfortably.
Escape to the Foothills of Tennessee and Enjoy Year Round Water. Have your morning coffee and watch the sunrise while relaxing on our deck, fish off our private dock or rent a boat from the nearby marina and enjoy a day of fun on the water. We also have plenty of space to park multiple trailers, so be sure to bring down your ATVs and boats!
The property currently has an incline to the lake, and while this is very common at Norris Lake, it may not be for everyone. The steps are suitable for our family members ages 4 - 70. However, a new tram is being installed in the fall of 2024, which will eliminate the need for steps. For those who are not familiar with a tram, its like an elevator on the lake, and will allow groups up to 6 people + bags/coolers to travel to and from the dock. The steps will be removed once the tram is fully functional.

The house was great. Plenty of space for everyone in the living/kitchen area. The kitchen had everything we needed plus. The beds were super comfortable and the 3 floors gave everyone their own space. The kids loved the downstairs area. Loved the decks!. The only drawback was the steps to the lake which was not practical for some. Overall the place was very clean and as nice as it looked in pictures. We would definitely stay there again if the tram is installed.

The house was the perfect size for us, everyone had privacy. The upper level deck was great, used it every day. Property was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this property to others.

The house is great. The kitchen is very well stocked. We were nicely surprised by this; they had every gadget we could need. The kitchen sink wouldn’t drain on like day 2 and they sent someone right out. There was a luggage rack in one bedroom which was nice, but it’d be great if there were multiple racks in each room or closet. Two of the mattresses and several pillows are stained terribly and need to be changed out asap. The loft bunkbeds aren’t the sturdiest; they sway & squeak if someone rolls over. The steps going down to the lake are sketchy and some are broken but it didn’t affect our winter stay. We stayed there to go ride side-by-side (atv/utv) at the trails. We were about 10-15 minutes from the south end of the trails and 45 minutes to the north end of the trails (Tackett Creek). We were about 20 minutes from Royal Blue trails. Plenty of parking for SUVs and trailers. The checkout instructions were a lot IMO: like stripping down all beds. The roads all around are typical mountain roads. Walmart grocery delivered several times without any problems. Neighbors were nice. Overall we had a great trip and would stay here again if they get new mattresses & pillows.

Nice property. Excellent communications with owner. Well stocked kitchen.

Nice layout of cabin. With leaves on plenty of privacy.
Everything we needed was supplied. Plenty of hot water for showers, a must when returning from a day of trail riding. 20minute plus ride to trail system. Plenty of room for parking. Property manager was friendly and easy to communicate with.

Everything was just as listed and my friends and I had a blast. The view was amazing and the cabin felt secluded. Plenty of space and was very clean. A great place to stay all around!

Overall, this lake house was exactly as described and we had a great time. A couple things the host could do to improve the stay would be to provide a couple basics in the cabin. Things like laundry supplies, hand soap, extra paper towels etc. Beach towels would also be nice; we had to go buy some. Also just as an fyi, there are 151 stairs down to the dock; this would be a difficult trek if you’re not in decent shape. Good news is you get a workout every day you’re on vacation without a gym.

We had a great week on Norris lake. The house was perfect for our group. They had all the baby gear which made packing easier. The steps down to the lake are a bit challenging (watch out for older/less mobile people) but we had a great time boating and hanging out on the dock. Thanks for a great stay!

Once inside - we had plenty of beds, linens, dishes, and spaces to hang out. Kitchen had great cookware and enough coffee cups, spoons… extra pillows and throw blankets in abundance. Loved the gas grill and outdoor TV on the porch. All the things to make the stay comfy. Stairs to lake need repair - neighborhood is not what you would expect. BUT it turned out fine. The lake below is amazing - kayak were awesome - and our 7 year old pulled fish after fish from the water / right off the dock. So - I would consider the overall experience to be a diamond in the rough.

We stayed here to ride ATV trails. The location is a little far for that but we made it work. The property is beautiful and was the perfect size for our large group. The kids has a blast playing outside. There is plenty of seating for meals or hanging out. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The kids loved the wii in the basement living area. The property is well upkept. There is endless hot water!! Overall, we loved it and would be happy to stay again even though it was a little further from the trails than we thought.

This was a great place! We had several adult couples, and everyone had plenty of room. The bunkbeds are queen size beds even on top. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the commercial ice maker was such an amazing plus!
The only drawback is that the reviews are right: the stairs are killer. We are in fairly good shape, and they were a workout. Definitely wait until you get down the stairs before icing down the cooler. Otherwise, we had an absolutely wonderful time.

Beautiful cabin , we enjoyed our stay . The cabin look with the modern amenities . Kitchen well stocked with everything you need . The black stone grill was a nice surprise as well as the outside ice machine . The steps ( all 150 ) down to the dock was a beast to say the least . With several over 40 with bad knees we found this to be an issue . So just heads up unless your 20 with 2 good knees this isn’t your cabin . She is a beauty & a beast .

We had a nice visit to this cabin on Lake Norris. The lake is beautiful! The owner, Trisha was very easy to communicate with. The large outdoor ice machine was a nice addition.

This house is beautiful and has a great little view of the lake! The owners were great to work with and responded quickly to questions I had. The check in and out process was easy. The kids loved the game room downstairs and the dock with with slide! The only thing that was difficult was the stairs down and back up to the lake. They are VERY steep and very long. It is very difficult with a lot of kids and if you're tying to carry a lot of stuff down there, so beware! You definitely want to plan one trip down those stairs, so don't forget anything lol! Overall it was a very nice stay!

Family Fun
My family stayed here for a week. The property is exactly as described and very clean. The cabin is beautiful, as is the lake. The kitchen has everything you need and the large beds (even the bunk beds) are great! The extras are amazing including the ice machine, surround sound system, kayaks, paddle board, etc. We rented a boat for the week at Twin Cove which is close by. We had so much fun. One caution …. The stairs are intense. I believe there are about 150 and it’s a steep climb. If you have someone that has trouble with stairs, this is not the property for you.

Excellent cabin with an excellent lake view.
Wonderful house, peaceful lake. Checkout instructions said to start a load of laundry before we left, however there was no laundry detergent. We bought our own to be sure we checked out properly. Very satisfied. Cabin was well furnished. We would return if we end up in that area of Tennessee again.

Boys Fishing Trip
My brother and three high school buddies stayed here in May of 2022 for our annual fishing trip. It was our first time to Norris Lake and we really had a great time. Our location on the water was excellent and the house was perfect. It was just the right size and was well equipped for our crew. Everyone enjoyed the comfortable beds, relaxing porch and the nice grill and blackstone which helped make some hearty meals for the guys. Trish and Gregg were responsive and very helpful answering our questions. We caught a lot of fish during the day and enjoyed hanging out in the evenings. Overall great experience.

Gorgeous Inside and Out
This was a last minute trip (literally booked it the morning we checked in). Communication with Trisha was phenomenal. We arrived at the property close to midnight and the check-in process was seamless. Directions were easy to follow. The property is tucked away on Norris Lake and you have all of the privacy you will need. The house is equipped with games and other fun things to do with the family. We stayed four nights and only left once to grab some groceries (Walmart only 10 min away). The only thing better than the views from the back deck is the atmosphere inside. You have a true modern cabin feel inside. The weather was perfect for us as well (low 70s and sunny). We spent plenty of time down at the pier fishing (bring your poles) and kayaking (provided). It is a long way down to the pier but well worth the trip. Water is clean and I could see us going for a swim if it was a little bit warmer. Our girls caught several rock bass and blue gills. We watched Netflix at night and played Ms Pacman. The beds are extremely comfortable and there is a ton of space. We really had the best time here. It is the perfect spot to rest and relax. We cannot say enough about this place. Highly recommended!!!

AMAZING Family Thanksgiving
We had an absolutely amazing time at this cabin. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner. I've never stayed in an VRBO that was so well stocked - the kitchen was amazing! We were a little thrown off by the neighborhood, but it wasn't a problem. I thought the cabin was a bit more secluded, but it was in a neighborhood. Again, the pictures are accurate - the rooms are immaculate and the view is amazing on the lake. We enjoyed the firepit as well. We would stay here again. On our last night, all the kiddos said, "This was THE BEST THANKSGIVING!!!" I agreed! Thanks for sharing your home!

Great cabin
Our group of 10 had a great time! We booked the cabin to ride at Ride Royal Blue. It was about a 20 min drive but well worth it! The cabin had everything we needed and more.

Halloween Weekend Stay
We enjoyed our stay! Trisha was wonderful and very responsive. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was amazing it was fully stocked and had everything we needed to make meals. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. One negative is that it’s not the nicest area. Some of the yards had junk and trash in them. Luckily, the cabin is set back far enough on the lot, you don’t see the other homes. The view from the deck is amazing.

Awesome experience!!!!
We had a great experience at this home. The property was in incredible shape, clean, and beautiful. We came to the area to ride SxS's. At one point we easily parked 4 trucks and trailers in the driveway, and it was about a 10 minute drive to our trailhead. I fully recommend staying here. We had a great time and wouldn't change a thing.

Property is absolutely beautiful. I would advise there are a lot of steps to the water so make sure everyone in your group is able to hike stairs.

Rokkas Stay
This house is really charming with a lodge feel. There where 6 of us. My husband and I, kids 21,21,19,15. This is our 3rd year renting at Lake Norris. We love it here. The beauty of this property is that it is much closer to the highway and faster to get to Knoxville or local shopping. The house was fully stocked with everything you need from cooking, movie watching, playing board games, video games and 2 spacious porches to sit on. A commercial ice maker to bring ice to our boat was a HUGE plus! A very nice dock to house your boat and toys in as well. My only reason for 4 stars is the stairs. We are a pretty fit family and it was a lot of work to get back up to the house. The owners addressed any needs /questions we had immediately. They were great! I did mention stairs and they have a few updates in the plan…A great work out for our apple watches! Just be prepared for a steep climb. Well worth it! Lake Norris is Beautiful ! We have boated all 80 miles worth.

Great location!
Overall give this five stars after we stayed here with three families and all had a fun week on the lake. Lots of pros to this property- 1) the location is great, it is close to town and the highway, also very close to the public ramp which was easy to drop in boats, and also close to Twin Cove Marina. 2) Cabin is very clean and updated inside with nice beds and plenty of hot water for showering. Lots of space for our teens to hang out and play games.
3) Large ice maker on the deck was super convenient and made filling coolers each day easy and free! A rare find in a rental.
4) Flat top grill on the deck made cooking breakfast and dinner a breeze.
5) Covered dock with two slips and a wave runner dock fit all our water toys great. With kayaks and paddle board included we had plenty to do.
6) Plenty of flat parking for our cars and trailers, also something hard to find with rentals
Only two cons-
1) As owner states, there are lots of steep stairs (some uneven and missing railing) but once you get a system to pack for the trip down it isn’t too bad, definitely not ideal for small kids or older grandparents. Load your boat with anything you want at the dock so you don’t have to carry it down.
2) While the dock has two covered slips, it has seen better days and could use some bumpers or plastic to cover exposed metal where the boats enter.
Overall we had a great experience and all agreed the pros outweighed the cons and look forward to coming back again one day!

Awesome getaway in private cove
We really loved staying at this property. The home was spacious and clean and easily fit our family of 8. The lake was beautiful and clean and provided endless hours of entertainment. The private dock and on-site paddle board and kayaks were a lot of fun. Trisha was incredibly responsive and helpful and provided us with a lot of great local tips. We would highly recommend staying at this property. The only downside is that there are a lot of stairs to get down to the lake -- but if you are in decent shape and don't have elderly guests with you, it shouldn't be a problem.

Norris Lake 2021
Our stay at Norris Lake was amazing! The house was great and clean! The kids loved playing the games on the 1/2 rainy day we had. Loved having kayaks available for use as well as life jackets. I would warn future renters about the stairs to the dock. Going down isn't so bad, but pace yourself going up, it was quite the workout for us 40 to 40+ year olds. Our 5-8 year old kids had no problems. I know a picture of the steps exists now, but did not when we first rented it. We had no issues with the steps, but I feel people should be made aware of them.

Ask Questions
I rented this house because I wanted to take my family, mom and aunt to a lake house where we could enjoy the water, beautiful view in a beautiful home.
The house was indeed beautiful. Tricia was wonderfully responsive to all my questions and was a joy to work with. There were definitely pros and cons.
Pros: beautiful view, lovely outdoor seating in 2 decks, hotel style ice machine, nice appliances, nice furniture, foosball and Pac-Man table.
Cons: We weren't able to get to the lake because the steepness of the stair that lead to the water was too difficult to manage. The wood on the steps and railing are splintery and wobbly. This was disappointing. If this is important to you asked for photographs of ALL the sections of the stairs leading to the dock.
An easy fix that I should have asked more about was the condition of the cookware. The frying pans had Teflon chipping off and we're not usable. The gas grill was laden with grease. I did a lot of cleaning of the cookware and the grill before I could use them. There were only seven washcloths. Again these are easy things to fix.
Trisha was very nice and helpful.

Beautiful property, & lake view
Family summer vacation home, with lots to do all around. If you're not an active person, no problem, this place is a wonderful place to relax & reset. Being in the mountains, in my opinion, is the best place I can be. You cannot complain when you are in this home in these mountains.
