How we have transformed your vacation experience:
Our design focuses on the classic log cabin charm meeting industrial vintage style with the benefits of some 21st-century technology.
Using quality natural fibers and stone to update the space into a cozy log cabin, we wanted an experience you will soon not forget. Whether listening to the wind in the pine trees or enjoying a warm real log fireplace, the feel of the big city will be gone once you step onto the property. A large wrap-around porch will keep you safe from the elements while you sip your favorite drink. Located on over 1/2 forested acres, there is a sense of privacy and connection with the earth. An electronic lock makes checking in, a snap. Alexa can turn on a light, change the temperature, lock the door, or listen to your favorite songs with a simple voice command. What else could you possibly need in a vacation house?
The Cabin
The 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin has separate floors, which divide the space up nicely. Each floor has a bedroom and bathroom furnished with all the needs two couples could want including a TV in each room. There is a loft space overlooking the great room where a movie can be enjoyed. A surprisingly comfortable sleeper can accommodate up to two unexpected guests. If you are a bed snob do not worry, there are Cloud memory foam mattresses that you can sleep in until late in the day. Our organic towels and sheets will make your stay even more enjoyable. Being stewards of the environment, we have chosen renewable products to enhance your stay.
The hot tub is set to a nice 102 degrees. It is conveniently located to enjoy the stars but not cause you to have frostbite trying to get there in the middle of winter.
Our fully equipped kitchen will provide you with all the utensils needed to make a gourmet meal. There is even a growler to fill up at all of the great breweries Bend and surrounding have to offer.
Need to wash up after a hard day's play, two walk-in showers, and a washer and dryer will help get rid of any unwanted dirt.
Activities
Located in Three Rivers, there is private access to the Big Deschutes with a boat lunch. Bring a canoe or paddleboard to explore the river. This is a golfers' paradise, with eight championship courses in the area. Do you like to explore caves? This area has several lava tube caves to explore and even an ice cave. Only an hour and a half from Crater Lake, explore Oregon's only national park. At just over a half-hour away explore Newberry Crater National Monument. Whether fishing in Paulina Lake or hiking the obsidian flow, Newberry Shield Volcano offers access to many outdoor activities. Several roads and access to Cascade Lakes Highway make this the perfect location for cyclists. Trail runners and hikers can enjoy access to several trails within a 10-minute drive during the Summer and Fall. In winter these same trails can be used for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Best of all only a 20-minute drive to Mt Bachelor Ski resort to enjoy some of the best skiing on the West Coast.

We absolutly loved the cabin. It was so beautifully decorated with such care. Super clean, and super quiet. The perfect get away spot. I will definitely stay here again!

It’s is a picturesque cabin. Growing up in a log cabin with my grandparents this brought me right back to a flood of memories. The house was a perfect blend of Americana log cabin with modern amenities. High showers for us tall guys. Everything was very clean and neat. The property and neighborhood are beautiful and quiet. The star gazing was great for the meteor shower. Hot tub was clean and in proper working order. It was the perfect cabin for my family and will definitely be renting it when we return next year.

Everything went well. The cabin was nicely appointed with everything we needed for our 4 night stay. It was very clean and cozy. Hot tub and game nights - day access to river. Drive to Sunriver was easy peasy.

My family built this cabin. It was sold several years ago, and when I saw that it was on VRBO I decided it would be nice to return and take my family. The kids had never been, so it was fun to take them and show them the cabin I spent nearly every weekend at as a child.
The cabin is a bit out of town, which we preferred. It's in a quiet neighborhood and feels very isolated, in a peaceful way. It is well appointed for anything you can think of - playing games, reading, enjoying movies. There was a burn ban due to the high temperatures and dry climate so we weren't able to use the fire pit, but we enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings and spending time in the hot tub. Each morning we saw deer in the mornings, and again in the evening on a walk to the river.
While it is a bit out of town, we had easy access to the Lava River Cave, obsidian flow, Sparks Lake, etc. Overall it was a wonderful time away and we look forward to returning.

Everything was wonderful, the only thing I would complain about is the hot tub had a slimy bottom.

We were in Sunriver for a family reunion, this was a cozy little cabin that fit all of our needs, even though we were quite busy with family we enjoyed our mornings out on the porch with our coffee! If we are ever in Sunriver we would rent this cabin again! It was close to all the activities in the area, plus shopping in Sunriver and Bend!

Jon and JC could not have been more communicative and accommodating. They worked with me when we had a rather distressful change in plans and were in need of a place to stay one day earlier than we had booked their property. They worked with us and we were very grateful to them. Furthermore the property was so lovely! Very clean and spacious, and in a great location. My kids and I enjoyed walking our small dog around the neighborhood and running in nearby trails. It was also a short 10 min drive to Sunriver where we spent some time. We hope to stay here again the next time we come through town.

Easily one of my favorite rentals to date! Such a cute log cabin on a large lot with more amenities than I could even imagine needing. It was a nice and quiet space for myself and my pets over the 4th of July. Close to the Village at Sunriver for shopping, too. I'd easily stay at this place again. Side note: I emailed the owners a lot and quickly received a response every time! **** 10/10 Rating *****

This is a great place to stay. The cabin is in excellent condition and the host knows how to make the place comfortable and functional. NO COMPLAINTS.
The location was great for hiking and sight seeing as you are somewhat in the middle of all the great sights. Crater Lake, waterfall hikes, the Newberry Volcano, and more. The only downside is no restaurants or convenience stores super close. But, only 12 to 15 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

We love our time at the Blue Heron. The cabin is furnished with the most fun accouterments. The fully fenced yard makes our time with our four legged-eds more relaxing and the hot tub is perfect. We plan the be frequent flyers for as long as Jon and JC will have us.

My husband and I traveled with our dog, and this house was our peaceful getaway. We loved the fenced yard where the dog could safely explore, lots of automatic lights at nighttime, quiet and comfortable. Our favorite was relaxing in the sitting area in the loft, with huge windows looking out at the trees. The owners reached out early to make sure we had everything we needed. Excellent stay!

Just a great place to stay and feel comfortable. Total fenced in yard for pets. Plenty of firewood, hot tub. The difference in this place and others I've stayed was the details. Also, newer appliances, washer/dryer, cooking stuff. Beds were very comfortable. I will stay here again in the future with my grandkids. They loved the place too.

Great place for a romantic get away. I was very impressed with how clean the Hot tub was and it was set at the perfect temperature. Beautiful log home and well kept. Great location with your choice to personalize make your trip - making it more adventurous with hiking, biking, swimming, exploring or just to chill and relax in the hot tub or sipping hot cocoa on the porch. We highly recommend and plan on returning soon!!!

Our stay was great. The cabin was clean and better than described. My family loved the cabin. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to one of our kids got sick. The owners were very easy to work with and very quick to respond. We will definitely be staying here in the future and hopefully it will be a longer stay.

Our stay was everything we could ask for and more. We had a wonderful week with our dog. The fully fenced in property was a huge appeal for us. We had so much fun coming back from Mt. Bachelor to a sun filled lawn and porch to sit on while we played with her outside. Couldn’t recommend this place enough and we hope to come back in the years ahead!

I think this is now our 4th winter staying at this cabin. Our family loves the rustic log cabin setting. My kids love the hot tub. The cabin is always clean and well-maintained. The property feels quite private and secluded, though it's not too far from Sunriver Village.

the best verb accommodation yet. Great location and neighborhood. Tidy and functional home with lots of extra thoughtful additions. The dog loved the big fenced backyard as did we!
The hotter was wonderful after a day of skiing. We truly loved it and hope to be back next winter! Thank you Jon

We stayed for four nights at the Blue Heron and had a great time. The property is clean and well-appointed and very comfortable as a place to hang out and relax.
The yard is fenced in and feels private, (even though it's in a neighborhood) and has a nice hot tub and firepit area out back. Our only complaint is that previous guests had let their pets do their business in the yard, and there were 3 "land mines" that no one had cleaned up.
Inside, we enjoyed having a crackling fire in the fireplace while we played games and relaxed. One thing to be aware of is that the owners have the Nest thermostat locked out so you can only set a temporary override, but it reverts to their preset temperature and will drop to 62° overnight, and there's nothing you can do about it except contact the host and ask them to remotely change the settings for you. Not ideal, but the owners were friendly and fairly prompt in addressing this issue for us.
Overall, we were happy with the amenities and location, and would consider staying again.

I booked the cabin for my friend’s birthday weekend. I received automated emails from VRBO before our stay and check-in was easy.
The cabin is adorable inside, well stocked and clean. The hot tub was fantastic and the beds were super comfy. Perfect weekend for friends or family :)
