La Flor (The Flower) is an upscale small beachfront community on the quiet north side of Jaco beach great for families and groups! The Villa is your own private 3 bedroom Paradise rental on the beach 🌸
The pool is directly on the beautiful beach and beach entrance is right there. When the guard lets you out the gate, your feet are right on the sand! This is the nicest part of the beach and a private beach just to the north as well. Only a 3 minute drive to downtown restaurants and shops yet far away from the traffic. It is gated and has 24 hour security. Bicycles are a popular method of transportation and available for rent. Taxis are also popular a cheap form of transportation around (average 2-4 dollars per ride in town, everything is very close as well)
The La Flor Paradise Villa is the 7th Villa from the beautiful beachfront pool and club with waterfalls. It is lavishly decorated with original Costa Rican designs and features a free form dining table. All 3 bedrooms of the villa are upstairs and have extremely large balconies.

This place was not clean. the floors had not been mopped in a long time and the downstairs toilet bowl was terrible, the master bathroom had soap scum on the fixtures and the grout in the tiles was dirty. the mirror was dirty and some tiles were cracked on the wall. you could see fingerprints on the door.the patio doors did not lock and the lock on the laundry room outdoor did not lock. critters came in because there were holes in the screen and one window would not close all the way. the only thing true was that it was near a beach and gated.Its not safe.the master bedroom mattress was deplorable. Laundry room had a dirty smelly spin basket. I washed my clothing by hand. main BR tub needed cleaning.

What a great value, an amazing host and a location that wont disappoint! Megan is an absolute pro. She treated us like family. Gave us a bunch of great suggestions for food, tours and local tips and advice. Megan was very quick to respond, followed up and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time! Book this property! You will not regret it.

This was the perfect location for our family. The beach was literally outside the security gate, perfect for our adult children who wanted to surf. The property itself was comfortable, spacious, and a great place to relax together.

The condo turned out to be an ideal location; maybe 200 meters to the beach, thru a secure, gated community. The beachfront had lovely palm trees for shade, as the Costa Rican run is quite intense for us Michiganders. The place had everything we needed, and was clean. Check in/out was very easy, and the host was very responsive. It's a short walk to downtown Jaco, but seemed very safe, even at night. The host-recommended restaurants served incredible food and were reasonably priced, especially for the quality. We'll be back!

The house is clean, spacious, and had nice balconies to sit and enjoy coffee, 1 minute to the pool and 2 to the beach. Megan was very, very helpful and gave us great information on Jaco, restaurants, tours, etc.
We felt very safe and the security crew was great. We could get a taxi within 1-3 minutes. 5-10 minutes walk to downtown Jaco. Wifi was great, the AC worked great. It was nice to have a washer/dryer as we stayed for 2 weeks. The master bed was comfy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

I only got to spend 2 nights here but enjoyed every minute. The communication by the owner/manager was excellent and the Villa had everything needed for a great time. We used the pool onsite and used UBER to head into town. Directly next door to the Crocs Casino.

Arranging the stay was seamless. Check-in was as easy as it gets. The location of the villa is perfect if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of the strip. Just a few minutes to everything. Megan was great. Any issues we had she rectified immediately. She helped arrange most of our activities and made certain we went with people who would keep us safe. We had a great stay at Megan's villa and plan to go straight back to it next time we're in Jaco Beach. Thanks for a great stay Megan!

This was a perfect spot for our first visit to Costa Rica. Spacious, air conditioned rooms, and a well equipped kitchen. A two minute walk and you are on the big beautiful beach! Megan was so very helpful , giving suggestions and arranging our excursions and transportation. I highly recommend this property.

My family and I enjoyed 2 weeks at Meg’s place. The small gated community is right on Jaco Beach, and the grounds are kept meticulously. The pool was a welcomed sight each day as well! It includes a lovely common area for sitting or playing cards as well. The villa has 3 comfortable bedrooms, all located upstairs, and a great veranda on the backside of the house. We drank coffee and watched the beautiful makaws fly in every morning, and often had wine up there in the evening. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen as we cooked and ate many meals at home, or prepped lunches to go with us on our beach trips. The house AC works very well when temps and humidity are high. Just a few feet down the beach is a great casual beachside restaurant named Clarita’s. We enjoyed their food very much! Our family highly recommends Meg’s place! We sure hope that we get back there again.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The location of the Villa was perfect, very close (1 minute walk) to the pool and beach, which were both inviting and serene. The town of Jaco was a short 10-15 minute walk away and had excellent restaurants and shops. If you like to gamble, Crocs Casino is right next door. My son really enjoyed surfing at Jaco beach and Playa Hermosa, which was a short drive away. There is a car rental company a short walk from the Villa if you want to rent a car and explore the National Parks in the area. Our host Megan, was extremely pleasant and eager to help us in any way. She arranged our transportation to/from SJO airport and also recommended some excellent restaurants. She checked in on us during our stay to see if we needed anything and provided recommendations for a bunch of different activities, including surfing and zip lining. The Villa has three bedrooms and 2.5 baths and had plenty of room for five of us. The complex was gated and very secure. We found Costa Rica to be beautiful and the people to be warm and friendly.

We had a fabulous 3 weeks staying in this 3 bedroom villa with our family of 5. In general, the house needs a bit of maintenance but this did not prevent us from having a really nice vacation. Here’s what we think prospective guests would appreciate knowing ahead of time:

Need to Know:
Refrigerator did not function properly; food had to be transferred to mini fridge and back to regular fridge repeatedly; (Megan was apologetic and compensated us for this inconvenience)
Sectional couch while comfy was torn in a few places
Cracked mirrors on sliding glass doors in all 3 bedrooms
Sliding glass bedroom doors to the outdoor balcony on 2nd floor were difficult to open and close and had to be locked/unlocked with a key only. No manual latches. Also, handles were loose and one door handle was broken.
Front door could use a better locking system as the only way to lock the door up for the night is to use a key on the inside of the door lock; safety issue if you had to leave quickly.
Outdoor patio glass table on 2nd floor balcony was damaged and shedding bamboo
Lighting is dim and 3 light fixtures were either burnt out/missing or malfunctioning

We came to CR for warm weather and relaxation on beach and near pool. We had two couples and there was plenty of room, we enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon happy hour on the upstairs lanai. This property description and photos are very accurate. The beach is beautiful, the pool is clean and delightfully warm. We highly recommend white water rafting and some of us even did horseback riding on the beach. Megan was quick to respond to any questions we had from the moment we inquired and booked. Megan helped us with airport transfer, and also answered questions immediately throughout our entire stay. The house is lovely, there are a lot of activities available in the area and we also enjoyed walking into “town” where we shopped and dined. We had an amazing time and hated to leave!

Meg was super responsive, answering any questions and giving tons of suggestions. The house is very comfortable and the location to the pool and beach is unbeatable. The kitchen has everything that’s needed to make anything at the house or you can just walk a few minutes to different restaurants and cafes. I would definitely recommend Meg’s place to anyone with children or teens for all the amenities nearby or couples for a fun getaway. Best location and host!

The complex is quite and totally secure behind a guarded gate 24/7.

Owner was outstanding in making us feel comfortable - thanks! Property could have a few more amenities - refrigerator had malfunctioned, washer and dryer were hard to use (but probably standard for Costa Rica), sparse kitchen materials -no dish towels or dish rages, lack of bottled water, lighting in condo was dim and hard to see in the place even in broad daylight, several areas need deep cleaning.

Our vrbo was exactly how it was described. Great location, great home and we had a great host. She took the time to respond to all my questions immediately. Everything went perfectly and Megan even had the foresight to have a Christmas tree up for our usage. That made our day. The kids spent most of their time between the beach and the pool which allowed me to watch football in peace :-).
We have already begun our discussions for our next stay at this property.

Stayed here with a friend in December as we both work remote and surf. Location was perfect, about a minute walk to the beach and seconds to the pool. Megan was an awesome host, helped set up our travel to & from the airport as well as anytime we wanted to venture out of Jaco - super responsive and helpful for all of our questions! The house is in a great neighborhood, gated community with security at all times and super close to the town of Jaco. 10/10 stay here would definitely recommend!

Great villa, great location
Meg's 3 bedroom villa was perfect for our family of 6. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Communication with Meg was easy and she was super helpful in answering any questions and arranging our transfer from the airport, a driver to Manuel Antonio and the catamaran tour to Isla Tortuga. The complex felt safe and we were comfortable walking into town for groceries and dinners out. The pool area was nice. Our teenagers really enjoyed playing in the waves on the beach, and sunsets were spectacular every night. As other reviewers have noted, Clarita's right next door and on the beach is a great spot for food and drink! Overall, a wonderful vacation. Thanks Meg!

Great beach location and plenty of space!
We walked nearly the entire length of Jaco Beach, but we never saw a spot we liked better than this one! Especially with a few sodas right around the corner and Clarita's, where we caught about every sunset, not far past the gate.
The villa itself had ample room for five. The neighbors were friendly, and the gates to the main road and beach were staffed around the clock, as advertised. An excellent pool area is just a few units away en route to the beach gate--it's overseen by some charming iguanas who sun on the ledges and rooftops. Note that what looks like a hot tub is not actually heated, but with 90 degree weather we didn't miss it--we sat in there anyway while our son made friends in the larger pool.
Meg was more than accommodating. She checked in with us regularly via What's App (which you'll need) and arranged for delivery of groceries and beverages (thanks, Jhoni!). She also provided transportation to and from San Jose, as well as a couple excursions--we highly recommend having her take you to Manuel Antonio National Park and stopping at El Avion for lunch. Also have her stop at one of the roadside fruit stands for ceviche and mangoes. Wow.
Be prepared to be conscientious with electricity usage, as it's expensive in CR. We ran the AC seldom, but usually didn't need it with the ceiling fans. You may want to buy a bag of ice for the freezer. Wi-fi worked great. I don't think we turned on the tv once. BBQ grill on patio was nice bonus. Would love to go back sometime!

Quiet and peaceful location
Megan was pleasant from the very beginning and remained so throughout. She was accesible and very straightforward. There was nothing secret about her fees nor her rental’s. It TRULY felt like a home away from home. The kitchen had just about everything you need to make a 5 course meal. The living room was majestic with 20 something foot windows. The furniture was very comfortable as well. The rooms were spacious and very nicely decorated. The air conditioners cooled quite well. The pool was safe for kids and in July, perfect temperature. There were beach towels for everyone. There were also additional towels for showering. That was very convenient. The beach was immediately outside through the rear of the premises. That was AWESOME!!! The beach has many different-sized pebbles(where water meets the sand). So, wear some sort of beach shoes to protect your feet. We were a group of 6 and ABSOLUTELY LOVED this rental. Also, in reference to another renter’s allegation of lack of safety. I have to say that we felt very safe. There was security in both front and rear entrances. These were courteous gentlemen that were always very polite. If you’re looking snipers as security guards, then you should consider saving up some money and staying at Camp David. For “normal” people and those of us “NOT” on the run from anyone, it was GREAT. If you go to the pool, DON’T take your Rolex(common sense). Like I said before, great rental from a great renter. We look forward to returning in the future.😊. Great location and nice condo
Located right on the sandy end of Jaco Beach near Croc’s Casino. Meg was terrific helping setup airport pickup/drop off and checked in every few days to ensure all was well.

Friendly, helpful and genuinely caring from the heart! Meg was very easy to deal with , friendly and caring! She set up transportation to and from the airport and also the outings that we went on! Tortuga island was wonderful and well worth every penny! The house was exactly as pictured and in a wonderful location right on the beach! Very safe! Security was friendly and helpful at all times. The only suggestion I would give you is to learn a little Spanish before going to Costa Rica or at least download an app to your phone to help translate. Most people can speak some English but it would make things a little easier! My father-in-law I had a Health event while in JACO and the Clinic in JACO was amazing! Dr. Alex from the clinic in jaco was wonderful and saved my father in laws life! the hospital of biblica in San Jose was spotless and the physicians and nurses were excellent ! Everyone was amazing! Meg, Eddie who owns the transportation company and helped us transport to and from jaco when my father in law was in the hospital. One of his drivers Louis was just such a great man! Everyone was very caring and concerned! They really touched our hearts! We will definitely return And would definitely stay at this property again!Thank you to all - Nancy

We stayed at the condo for 10 days in January 2017. Location was excellent but the condo itself is showing its age. Taps leaked, furnishing far from "upscale". The front door had to be pushed quite hard to enter. As for security, well, not exactly secure! There is a cement wall behind the condo but easy access on both sides of the building and there is an empty lot behind the cement wall which was maybe 8 feet tall. My husband's cell phone was stolen from the premise and I attempted to contact Megan. She contacted us back the next day and all she could offer was to contact security and advise them..... Not impressed over all. We've been to CR several times and actually stayed in town and enjoyed it much more. I would not recommend this particular property.

Terrific Vacation
Meg was great, very organized and helpful, she even took us to our surfing lessons, which was certainly not expected, her house and property were just what we expected, actually a bit nicer; has made us think that renting a house is the only way to go. Would come back to Jaco anytime and would not hesitate to rent from Meg again. She even has great neighbors who were also more than friendly and helpful. Great experience !!!

Family vacation we will never forget!
From the moment we landed in San Jose to the moment we got home, Meg made our vacation effortless! The house was great and the location was PERFECT! Close to the beach, the town, and the casino. Taxis into town (although you could walk it easily) ran us about $3-4 USD per trip and were easy to call/hail. All of the drivers Meg arranged for our transfers and excursions were professional, prompt, and accommodating! The surfing school Meg arranged for us as well was AMAZING! The owner, Mike, worked with our family (all first time surfers) one -on-one to make sure we were comfortable and most of all safe. The kids looked like pros by the end of the lesson and we got some great pics from a photographer working the beach ($30 well spent!!) We also took a wonderful ATV trip through the mountains to a small waterfall. The company Meg booked for us again, were wonderful and kept us all safe and made sure we had a great time. Things not to miss - Clarita's beach bar (we practically lived there) it's right outside the pool gate; Manuel Antonio Park (go early or late... crowded) the monkeys are hysterical and the beach is gorgeous; Lemon Zest restaurant (fine dining quality with a relaxed atmosphere) the chef is amazing. Things we learned that might help you... DON'T skimboard in Jaco!! On day 3 of our visit, our son had a skimboarding accident on the beach (hit a rock) and broke his collarbone in 2 places. The local clinic was efficient, but only gave him meds and wrapped him up. Meg was again AMAZING and arranged transport for my son and me to CINA in San Jose (a private hospital). They were wonderful! Great doctors and imaging equipment...very efficient! I hope you don't ever have to go, but just in case. USE Meg's recommendations for tours/lessons/etc. We went back to surf (without the boy) after our lessons and couldn't get together with our surfing instructor and instead used someone that our taxi driver recommended (note...everyone has friends they will steer you to). The equipment was poorly maintained and once we got out into the surf, we realized it was far too rough for us as first timers... something I am SURE Mike would have told us prior to renting equipment. So, if you are new to CR or returning, I would highly recommend renting from Meg. She made what could have been a disastrous vacation smooth and fun for our family of 6. The home was beautiful, well appointed, and in a perfect location!!! We can't wait to come back!

Location Location Location
Great property in a great location just a few blocks from downtown Jaco. For me it was the perfect location. Serenity at its finest just a few steps from the villa on a beach that was not crowded. When we wanted to hang with the crowd all we needed to do was walk a few blocks or take a quick cab ride to the hottest locations in Jaco to have dinner and drinks. Meg the owner was great and helped us with anything and everything we needed from helping us book adventures to helping us book transportation. While enjoying our stay, one of the air conditions in a room went out and Meg had someone come over to fix it the same day. She was always was quick to respond to any questions or needs we had. Overall it was a great stay in a great property in the perfect location. Thanks for everything Meg!

As good as it gets!
I have been renting accommodations for 20 years, and I can tell you that Meg has a terrific property and tour Company. Her Condo is right off the beach in a perfect location. It is next to the crocs casino, and a very close taxi ride to all of the restaurants and night life. The wifi, air conditioning,, showers, and beds were all in good working order. Those are my highest priorities for any review. The pool area is beautiful and relaxed. I enjoyed cooling off at the pool after a run on the beach. There security guards and staff were all kind and helpful.
From start to finish Meg was responsive and attentive to all of my requests and concerns. I can say that she has been the best vrbo owner that I have had the opportunity to work with. It was becasue of all of the other positive reviews that I decided to book excursions with her for our entire stay. She went above and beyond in booking fishing boats and tours, and we enjoyed them all immensely. She is 100% a class act. I agree with one other reviewer who said she wished she could give Meg more than 5 Stars. Do not hesitate to book her property, and tours. I did my homework, and she instilled a great confidence in me with her professionalism in every aspect of our trip.

Very nice experience
We visited as a family of three. The facility was well kept, safe, and quiet. The A/C and wifi worked well. The pool area was very quiet, most of the time we were the only guests in the pool area. Easy access to the beach, lots of surfers, tricky swimming. There were constant dump trucks going up and down the beach, but I'm sure that is temporary for whatever they are working on. We rented a car and that was very helpful for accessing different parts of town and additional beaches. It's doable without a car, just depends on how far you want to adventure into town. We found ourselves frequenting Clarita's, a restaurant/bar down the beach. Meg, the owner, was super awesome, always quick to respond and very helpful.

Relaxing vacation
We had a great vacation in Jaco, Costa Rica. Meg was a HUGE help in booking and assisting with tours. This made our trip so much more enjoyable. The only recommendation I would make is to bring plenary of US cash for the tours. The companies charge anywhere from 3% - 10% additional for using a credit card on the tours.
The weather was warm and a little humid in July, but we are used to that in Florida. The water was warm and the pool was a refreshing break from time to time. The area where the home is located is gated with 24 hour security - very safe!

Place was exactly as advertised. The owner was great to work with. The house had everything we needed. We even forgot an Ipad and cell phone and her cleaning team tracked us down to get it returned before we left town. As we would come and go there was an Iguana that stood watch over our car. The security was great and the neighbors were all very helpful.

Great accommodation and location. House was large, airy and well appointed. Quiet area, walking distance to the beach. Pool even closer. Restaurants and cafés provided a wide selection of fresh, tasty authentic cuisine that was a cheap as chips. Gifts were available right in the house. The sandals and beautiful shell necklaces became wonderful things to share with friends and family in Australia. Thanks to Megan, who toured us to the 'Rainmaker'. A spectacular example of the landscape in Costa Rica. A relaxing in house massage completed an amazing week. The tips and advice provided by Megan made the holiday unique and well worth doing again. Would return in a heartbeat!

Laflor Villa is an excellent place to stay for a holiday in Jaco,CostaRica. It is a scenic trip to Laflor from the San Jose Airport. The house is in a quiet secluded neighbourhood. There is individual air conditioning in each bedroom which is very handy. It is a very easy walk down the beach to town for varied shopping,groceries and restaurants. The access to the ocean and beach are a real asset.The sunsets there are awesome.The surfing,boogie boarding and swimming were great. At Laflor in addition to the great Ocean is a nice swimming pool,jacuzzi and area for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.It is only a few steps from the house.The Macaws,Costa Rican squirrels an Lizards made for some great photographs.After shopping in town I found Megan's display case at Laflor with local artisan wares a great opportunity to shop for friends and family. The beautiful handcrafted Sunset Shell Necklaces are really nice. The Rasta Rica Sandals are worth a look as well. Megan arrange for a driver and transportation directly to and from the airport to Laflor.She can recommend the best car rental companies if you want a car for day trips from Jaco once you are there.Megan's local knowledge was a big help as she recommended and arranged tours and the best eating places in town. Overall Laflor and Megan made this an excellent holiday.

Our group included six adults. La Flor was perfect for our group. Separate AC controls in each bedroom is a good feature. We rented a van but could have managed without it. It's an easy walk into town with restaurants and grocery and other stores. Megan was a great help arranging for ziplining, ATV tour, and catamaran. Pick up at the. gate for the tours was
very convenient. We definitely will return and will recommend La Flor to our friends.

Great Place, Great Location
Thank you Megan for sharing your house and making our vacation so special. The listing and picture were very accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. The property is in a gated comunity and I felt very safe at all times. The neighbors are great and we enjoyed visiting with them in the pool. We love the little beach bar Clarita's, less than a block from the house.
Have Megan arrange for a drive for $110 one way from San Jose. We had schedule for a rental car from San Jose to Jaco and much to our surprise, reserving doesnt mean much to most rental agencies. There are rental care agencies in Jaco. So many tell you to shop for groceries in San Jose, but not necessary. There is a large grocery store in Jaco with reasonable prices,
I would highly recommend using Megan for setting up your tours, rental cars and your ride from San Jose. She has great connections with the community and was able to book things for us that were not available anywhere else.
For things to do: I would recommend off shore fishing. The company we used was Dreamworks with Captain Tom. It was a fishing trip of a lifetime. Me and my husband caught 17 sail fish and one Mahi-Mahi in one day. Captain Tom and his two mates worked very hard to make our day special and they know the waters well. The beach bar cooked our fish for $8.00 per plate with side dishes. It was super yummy! I would also recommend Manuel Antonio, but hire a local guide. Well worth the money.
