About this cabin rental
Location,Luxury, and Location. This cabin has just finished a complete 250k remodel and under new ownership. Owner David Musselman is sparing no expense to create an experience that will certainly make this one of the most popular ski in ski out cabins in the west.
The theme of this cabin is an old miners shack combined with a ski bum element. There is a combination of metals and wood that make this unique. The bathrooms are designed to look like an old mine shaft and the living areas will make you feel that you are a teenager again with all of the ski and snowboard deco.
Large comfortable leather couches will be in both TV family rooms and of course there will be premium surround sound theater in both family rooms and the master bedroom.
The kitchen cabinets have been custom designed by the owners as are all of the light fixtures in the cabin.
For those of you that want a ski in experience, you will be able to ski directly to the front door off the great western ski run. This is a black diamond run. You can also take advantage of the free shuttle which picks up directly in front of the cabin about every 10 to 15 minutes and will take you directly to the main resort. At the end of the day you can climb back onto the free shuttle, and it will drop you off in front of the cabin. This is great for parents that want to let their kids just go have freedom and ski without the hassle of getting them to the lift.
If you want to spoil yourself with one of the most charming cabins on the hill to make your ski trip perfect then you will not be let down.
Winter or Summer...Its the perfect cabin!
A WORD TO OUR GUESTS: PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING

THIS cabin gets a considerable amount of use. Especially during the ski season. It is a very popular cabin for larger groups and families.
The winter months particularly with this kind of heavy usage, cause a considerable amount of wear and tear.
The reason this cabin is so popular is because of its charm and decorations, and attention to detail.
THIS IS NOT A COOKIE CUTTER, VACATION RENTAL PROPERTY.
This is our family cabin, which includes some of our family treasures and family artwork for you to enjoy. That’s what makes it so special.
We love to share the amazing skiing opportunities, combined with the rustic luxury that this cabin provides. It will be unlike any other cabin that you stay at.
Because of its popularity and significant usage during the ski season do not expect to be checking into a brand new “white glove Marriott clean”property. We do our best with professional cleaners to have it ready for you when your party arrives but there might be some stains on the carpet, there might be some dust on a ceiling fan blade, there might be some chips in the coffee mugs or the batteries might be dead in one of the remote controls for the TV. In other words, we want to make sure that there are realistic expectations about reserving this beautiful Cabin.
We will always do our best, and take the feedback from each guest during their stay serious, and attempt to keep up with keeping everything up to a very high standard but if you are expecting a level of newness or cleanliness that you would see in a five-star hotel, then you might be happier with staying in a five star hotel.
SOME POSSIBLE THINGS TO PLAN ON:
1. You are in the mountains with lots of wildlife. You might get a visit from a mouse in the house or various bugs. We are vigilant about pest control but control is a relative word.
2. Sometimes lightbulbs burn out. We normally keep some extras.
3. The cabin has some great amenities such as the SAUNA and Hot tub with are functional 95% of the time with professional maintenance. But parts unexpectedly go bad or in the case of the 2023 winter the hot tub deck was crushed by snow.
We will try to inform you if certain things that are shown as part of the package are not working in advance of your stay. Any of the above items do NOT constitute a reason for a refund and on a case by case basis we will work with the guests to find a way to make it right if an item is not available such as the hot tub.
If you are wanting to have an unforgettable amazing experience and can see the value in trading amazing fit and finish and charm and detail for a frying pan that has some scratches in it then this is your place!
Should you choose to select our cabin for your vacation or event, we look forward to meeting you and helping you have the most amazing time ever!
See you on the hill!

Love staying in this cabin! Has a rustic feel to it but also offers great amenities. Perfect combination. The large deck on the south side is a great place to hang out all day and throughout the evening with spectacular views.

The cabin was fantastic and we loved the skiing at Brightonl. We would definitely come back

Very cool and unique place. Walking distance to Brighton and a short bus ride to Solitude. Beautiful views from the deck and living room. If you need help with anything the owner (David) is very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 5 nights. The main purpose of our trip was skiing. We had two families of 4, 2 adults and 2 teenagers in each family. House size was perfect. Two older boys slept up in the loft, two adults and my daughter on the middle floor with the two bedrooms and two adults downstairs and one teenager on the downstairs couch which he said was comfy. Loved the hot tub and sauna but the fireplace was our favorite. So many cool decorations in this place. We loved the rustic charm. Very convenient to slopes. Short walk to the shuttle, longer walk to the lift, but doable. We always took the shuttle. David, the Owner, was very responsive. The mountain got 54" of snow while we were there so we had some small logistical challenges getting there as did the cleaning staff but all of that was fine. The place was very clean and perfect for our stay. We got all our groceries for the week in Walmart before heading up the mountain and that worked out great. We would stay here in again in a heartbeat. My one wish was that the hottub was out on the main deck so you could view the mountain as you hung out, but it was fine as is. We were in the hot tub everyday. Thanks for an awesome trip David.

We were very happy with the amenities at this cabin. The kitchen was well stocked. There was plenty of room for gathering and sleeping. The host was very helpful.

Amazing stay at unique and charming property. 6 minute walk to great western lift! We loved all of the little touches that made this home memorable - from the hot tub on the covered deck to beautiful metalwork throughout, to very attentive support from the homeowners team. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return.

This property is super cool with all the unique amenities. Also the best location to send your boarders out to the slopes. I had to stay in and work and I didn’t have to worry about traffic, parking or meeting up with the kids.

We had an awesome time at Dave’s cabin! Super easy access to Brighton…great hot tub, plenty of space for us all!

We had a wonderful weekend at this awesome cabin located right next to my favorite ski resort in the world, Brighton.
We have four kids ages 2-11 and they all had a great time. All my kids loved it.
My daughters commented on how much they loved the cabin decor. I did too. It has so many cute and unique details from wood carvings to repelling figures.
The beds were comfy, the couch inviting, the shower was a waterfall with sprayers and a shower head on the sides.
We enjoyed the hot tub right after sledding and it was fun to warm up and turn on the LED lights and watch the snow fall.
We decorated gingerbread houses, drank hot cocoa, roasted mallows on the fire, went sledding, hot tubbing, and played board games as a family in our winter PJ’s.
The WiFi is great I worked for a few hours there and had no trouble with the internet even uploading movies to my site worked fine.
Communication was great from David. He sent videos on how to use the fire and some other things that required visual instruction which was great.
We stayed when the resorts weren’t open yet and just got lucky with an early snowpack. However, I grew up amateur-competitively snowboarding and have snowboarded at many resorts and have rode at most resorts in Utah and it is hard to beat Brighton and Solitude in terms of tree riding, powder, and variety in terrain. Brighton is my favorite resort and this cute cabin is just minutes away.
I Highly recommend!

The host was very nice and communicative, and the cabin had plenty of room yet a lovely, cozy vibe with a wood-burning fireplace and big comfy sofa. Plenty of room for a group to eat around the large round table in the dining area. The sauna was sooo pleasant. Tons of interesting handmade items and features all over the home. We enjoyed it immensely!

This cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. Cabin is fully stocked with everything you may need. Beautiful views, with a fun seating area and fire pit outside made for a relaxing few days. Cabin is very cozy and inviting. Lots of options of things to do nearby. It was a great way to spend a weekend.

The rustic theme of the decor made it feel like such a fun woodsy getaway. The location and surrounding areas you can't beat and the cabin was clean and host was very attentive. Would 10 out of 10 recommend!

We had a lovely time staying at the cabin. There were 10 of us (+ one toddler), all staying in the upper part of the cabin and while we did all fit and have a place to sleep, it was a bit tight, especially with only one bathroom. There is a lot more STUFF in the cabin (mainly decorations) than what was in the pictures and also I would not say this is a kid-friendly property. A lot of sharp corners for a kid to cut their head on (the dining table not pictured in the listing and the various metal saw blades). Overall though, it was very easy to work with the owner David and the location can't be beat if you want to be by one of the resorts. Please note the hot tub is currently out of commission so we didn't have access to it.

From the decor, to the location, to the size - this was by far one of the best cabins we’ve stayed at on a snowboarding trip!
All the finishing touches such as the Sonos surround system, mood lighting throughout the cabin, old-timely mountain gear, and iron and wood work used as decoration - made for new experiences everyday and night while staying on the property.
On top of that, the location is perfect for riding at Brighton or Solitude!
10/10 would and will stay again!

The proximity to Brighton just cannot be beat. We were there on a weekend with a ton of snow, where there were zero parking spots available on-resort. It was amazing to be a super short 5 minute walk away. The house itself was lovely and cozy, with ample common room for us all to convene, including in front of a lovely wood-burning stove. We also managed to ski off straight to the property, though probably something only experts should attempt, as it does require going out of bounds.
Overall, this was exactly what we were looking for and we found our host to be super responsive and communicative!

Great, great snow. David could not have been more attentive. Two foot a day was extraordinary. Place was warm spacious and well appointed. Shuttle is close by, and runs every 10 minutes. Skied most of Utah and Brighton is a favorite.

Great place! So close to the slopes and had everything we needed.

The home was all that we could have asked for in our post-conference co-worker ski get-away. The house is filled with unique and distinguished character, from the steal work to the layout. David, the owner was very hands on and supportive during our stay, we loved every minute spent in the house.
While it isn't exactly "ski out" it is just a short walk from the shuttle that takes you to Brighton resort. We would certainly stay here again.

Our group had a great time at Dave’s. It is so close to the mountain and accommodated 9 adults spaciously. Dave was helpful during our entire stay, making sure we had everything we needed.

Fabulous home, as advertised. Communication with the owner was easy and timely. Our family throughly enjoyed the property and it’s proximity to skiing Brighton. With enormous snow fall we were lucky to be within walking distance of the lifts:

I rented this cabin as a little retreat for my employees. It was everything we could have wished for and more! We loved the cozy atmosphere and feel to the cabin! The host was so helpful in providing anything we needed and responding very quickly. Will definitely be staying here again!!!

This is a really cool property!! Very unique decor, beautiful outdoor deck, hot tub and sauna with jetted tub inside! Stocked with all the pans we needed. Clean. Beautiful location. The property owner communicated well with us on inquiries and was professional and very kind! The one thing that I didn’t personally mind but some in my group did is the doors don’t lock (we go camping in tiny, unsecured tents so a big house with actual doors didn’t seem too different to me). I did mention this to the owner who stated he will be putting locks on the doors for ease of mind as some guests find unsettling. Overall locks or not, we can’t wait to stay here again for our next Brighton getaway! Special thanks to the host for hosting us!

Great location at the Brighton loop. Close to many hiking and biking trails. The cabin is clean and equipped with everything we needed. This would be awesome in the winter as well. We'll be back.
Thanks David!

Even better than the pics and description
The challenge with reviewing this property is that there is literally 100 different positive things to comment on. I'll just highlight a couple of the things you don't get at most other cabins. It has LED lights that you can control the colors in almost every room so you can light the rooms according to your current mood. It also has a Sonos sound system so that anyone can play different music in each room. For body therapy it was a hot tub, a sauna and a shower with ten shower heads big enough for six people. And lastly, the decorations are unique and thoughtful. You can sit in any room and spend minutes discovering all the cool art pieces placed in the house, many of which I believe the owner has hand made. If you stay at this epic cabin you'll never want to stay anywhere else when you come to Utah.

Perfect location for small wedding!
This was such an amazing location and home for a small wedding We had about 50 guests and there was plenty of room. We were able to set up tables and drinks without an issue. The owner was incredibly responsive with all of my questions. The cabin was so cool and unique. Would highly recommend this cabin.

Excellent accommodations
What a beautiful place to spend some family time. Details throughout the cabin are amazing as well. I’d imagine this would be a skiers top choice to stay because of it being so close to Brighton ski resort. Not only were the beds and living facilities great, David answered all questions via text message very promptly and we felt very comfortable with him. We will most definitely stay there again.

Wedding Day
We originally booked this location to hold a small/intimate wedding ceremony with close friends and family. The property manager/owner was great to work with and was very accommodating of our requests. He worked with us to allow us early access to begin setting up and was prompt in his responses. The cabin itself worked great for what we needed. Multiple rooms/beds for all my guests, large balcony with great view of the surrounding mountains, and unique aesthetic that gave it a great feel. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

We had a good time but there were some small problems
Overall the place was pretty nice and the host was accommodating, but there were a number of small things that slightly detracted from the experience. We would probably not stay here again.
- The second floor is only accessible via a very narrow metal spiral staircase. Getting your snowboards and luggage up and down this was not ideal.
- The hot tub water was discolored and definitely should have been changed prior to our arrival (I own a hot tub and never use it with water looking like this)
- There are many places where you can easily bump your head if you are over 5’10”.
- The house is close to Brighton, but I would not call it a ski in ski out location. The closest lift is an 8 minute walk that is slightly up hill.
- The thermostat is locked and you have to build a fire to heat the house. This was not clearly outlined in the pre booking description of the property (it said it has a fire place but not that you have to use it to stay warm).
- There was no lighter or kindling for the fire.
- The door code, which is needed to lock the place, we were provided was incorrect and I had to reach out to the host about it.

Good spot
We had a good time here. Place is a super cool A frame with a killer deck, lots of lounging areas and a sauna!
Not as many beds as listing states and you won’t be skiing out of here but you can definitely ski in if you’re determined.

Perfect Location and Amazing Home
Being right next to Brighton in a wonderfully set up cabin was a perfect way to spend a vacation. The structure of house was perfect for two families with the upper level and lower level living areas. David was great to work with and was there for whatever we needed.
One thing we wish we had known about the area is that the road to Park City is closed during the winter, which made our trip to that area a bit longer than we expected. It's a beautiful drive though, so that made up for it!

Spring break ski trip
We loved snowboarding and skiing at Brighton. The mountain was perfect for beginners to experienced skill levels. The house was a farther walk than I anticipated. It is an easy walk with regular boots on but will ski gear it can be difficult. We chose to drive most days. The Brighton parking was no charge so that wasn’t a problem.
The house had plenty of space for 2 families. We enjoyed having 2 kitchens and laundry on site. The kitchen was well appointed. The only set back was not having many towels to use. We discovered a load that had been washed but not tried from the week before and once that was rewashed and dry we were fine. With 9 people we just did a load of towels every other day. We loved the hot tub but didn’t really use the sauna but it did work. The only real complaint was the door that was the main exit in and out of the mud room did not lock and the door frame kept falling off. My husband reattached it several times and we made the owner aware. It was just slightly unsettling not to have the ability
lock the door at night.
