This home is very well appointed. The kitchen has great cookware, sharp knives, and a good variety of spices,( all uncommon in vacation rentals, so a lovely surprise). The beds are comfy, and we had comfy pillows as well. Multiple bathrooms is so nice when you have a crowd. There’s plenty to do inside in the evenings, and the layout is great for people with different interests, there’re places to sit quietly and

Our group had a fantastic time in this great house. Lots of room to spread out and a great big dining room table for our meals. The lake is stupendous and we spent most of our 2 weeks in or on the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you could possible want. The dock was amazing and the chairs come with a cup holder for our morning coffee. High end appliances and a top notch house. Can't wait to return to Lake Thompson.

The booking, check in and check out process were seemless. This house is far up on a hill (~100 yards from the lake) and much of the view from the house is obscured by a dense tree line. The house is well appointed with almost too many things to keep track of. The lake is beutiful and the house fit our 14 guests well. If you are looking for a remote adventure and don't care about the perfect lakefront view, this is a good option.

Kevin was communicative and helpful with the booking. Very enjoyable stay and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway!

Everything was as described. We enjoyed our stay. Rented a boat and dock was great. House and cabin perfect for larger groups / families. Loved the visits from neighbors dogs. Because we had a rental of a pontoon boat we had a ladder for ease of access into and out of lake. That would be only suggestion / add a ladder to dock area so that the over 50 year old crew can get in and out of lake better. 😎
Home was well maintained and both owners and property management company were very responsive. Thank you so much for helping our family to make great memories.

We had a fabulous stay on Thompson Lake! The house came stocked with all the necessities. We enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and playing games on the large dining room table. There were plenty of beds for our large extended family and the lake was gorgeous! We took advantage of the provided kayaks and spent many hours swimming, fishing and kayaking. Overall, a great experience!

An ideal spot
We have rented lake houses in the past for our family reunions but this house and this lake were by far the best. Our hosts were helpful and welcoming and the house had every comfort and amenity we could want to entertain adults, teenagers and one 7 year old. With the addition of a boat that we rented at the nearby marina, we were busy all week, swimming, tubing, water skiing, making s'mores and playing games around the huge table at night. A highlight: The kids loved the friendly neighbor's dogs and she kindly invited them over to see the many animals she keeps.

Kayak Heaven
Our family fully enjoyed the Haley Cabin.
It offered plenty of space for multiple activities inside and out.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, spices and supplies.
The number of water craft and life vests was outstanding as we had 9 adults including a couple of fisherman. We appreciated the tube and tow line when we rented a boat.
We also enjoyed the fire pit in the evening.
Great spot!

It was a great place for a gathering! We held a celebration of life here and it was beautiful.
There are so many places to sleep!!! There's lots of living space inside and space to gather outside. We had a total of 16 people during the day, and there would have been room for everyone to sleep comfortably! The kitchen was great and well stocked.

Unbelievable Family Vacation!!!
Such a beautiful cabin!!! Our family spent a week long vacation here at the lake celebrating a 60th Birthday and we could not have asked for a better property. The cabin was well equipped with everything that we could have needed (and then some). There was so much to do, both inside and out between kayaks, canoes, floats, yard games, fishing gear, and also indoor games. We took advantage of renting a boat for the week at nearby Thompson Lake Marina and it was the best way to view this picturesque area. Thompson Lake is gorgeous - it is a big lake without all the traffic, so quiet and peaceful!!!
We enjoyed family dinners at the massive kitchen table and also outside dining at the beautiful picnic tables. There was plenty of sleeping space for our party of 8, but this cabin is capable of hosting many more.
We hated to leave, but will definitely be back!!!

Beautiful Cabin
Beautiful huge cabin, the cabin was perfect for my family and friends. Kevin was very accommodating. I would definitely book again. Highly recommend this location. We're so sad we didn't realize the bunk house til the last day, we didn't expect it to be as beautiful as the cabin itself. It's like. Whole in law suite. Overall it was a great getaway for my family and I.

Special Thompson Lakefront Cabin
We certainly had a memorable five star vacation and all fell in love with Thompson Lake. Folks at the marina were so pleasant to deal with and luckily the weather was excellent overall. Your very well appointed cabin comfortably accommodate our family. We may well have become ocean to lake converts.... Thank you Kevin

Private, beautiful, relaxing, gobs of space, clean and quiet lake.
16 of my family completely enjoyed our stay! One and all felt they had space to relax, entertain and play. While the waterfront is not conducive to the elderly, the deep, clean water, spacious nice dock, and plenty of paddle boats and rafts for all made the stay fun. Add beautiful sunrises and water views. More kitchen conveniences than I have ever seen in a rental plus plenty of towels and paper products - very generous. The friendly neighborhood dogs visited daily to entertain our own. The house didn't have a generator during a power outage which is common in Maine, but all else was great. The rooms are all great, unlike other rentals where one is like a dark closet, this house has nice rooms for everyone. Downstairs and the cabin have beautiful water views and are bright and clean. Upstairs rooms have at least two windows with nice breezes, and are spacious with comfortable beds. An overall great stay!

Awesome - A family memory for years to come
Three generations converged to enjoy days on Lake Thompson. Especially in this unprecedented time, the coziness of the property along with thoughtful amenities created a private compound of action packed excitement. Water activities all day, terrain of the property created climbing opportunities, and the comfort and spacious expanse of the cabin lent the opportunities for solitude, gatherings, games, cooking and conversation. There are no words for how amazing this property is : Well maintained, well stocked with lake accouterments, appealing to all ages (babies to elderly and recovering surgery) with something fo all weather, times of day and interests. A truly great memory - Thank you to the owners and their selected teams (property management, housekeeping, neighbors). The goal of the trip create a memory for years to come. Goal met.

Amazing trip!
This vacation was everything we hoped it would be and more! There were 16 of us and everyone had their own space and was very comfortable. The kids LOVED the bunkhouse and all of the games/toys/sporting equipment that was graciously supplied by the owners. The lake was absolutely beautiful - quiet, clean, calm - just gorgeous. We rented a pontoon easily and had some amazing days tubing and cruising on the water. The owners go above and beyond to ensure that their guests have everything they need and are beyond kind. We loved that there was a field for games when we were off the boat and that there were lots of seating options (indoor and out) to accommodate large groups. We really were thrilled with our stay and made many great memories! We highly recommend this rental!

Such a Special Place
We were traveling with a large group of old friends, coming in from around the country to catch up for a weekend, and this house was perfect for us - easy access to a really beautiful (crystal clear) lake, plenty of space to play games and spend time together inside, and enough beds and bathrooms for everyone to be comfortable. Kevin and Nancy's check-in instructions were extremely thorough (even including bios of the neighbors' dogs and what to do if Apollo decided he wanted to join our party) and their driving directions were incredibly helpful. Everything was where you would expect to be, and truly, the house is even more open, warm, and welcoming and the view more impressive than the photos can convey. We were lucky enough to have late September weather that allowed for both swimming/floating/using the canoes generously shared with us, AND an evening fire outside - no one wanted to leave on Sunday. Thank you, Nancy and Kevin!

Fantastic Cabin on the Lake
What a great weekend! This surprisingly spacious cabin is in a peaceful space right on a big, quiet lake, just a gorgeous environment. There were 14 of us in my group and it was large enough to host us all comfortably.
It's definitely a bit out of the way - the supermarket is almost 30 minutes away and you aren't going to get food delivered - but that sort of isolation can be very positive if that's what you're looking for.
I also want to make a positive comment about the owner here. When we arrived, it was clear that the cleaner hadn't come as they were supposed to. I fired off an email to Kevin, and within 20 minutes of sending the email, I had an apology and the cleaner was pulling into the driveway. Outstanding.

Family Reunion!
After a long search for the right lake property in Western Maine for our first family reunion, we discovered Call of the Loon, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice! There were 13 of us, half of whom were teenagers, so we worried about having enough space, privacy and activities for the week-long vacation. But we couldn't have been happier having chosen this home as it had PLENTY of all three! Its great room is open and spacious, the stocked kitchen fully accommodated multiple nights of home cooking, including lobsters on the deck, and each bedroom was roomy and comfortable. The three boys slept in the detached bunk house, which has its own shower/bathroom, the four girls slept in the basement, also with its own shower/bathroom, and the adults claimed queen/king-sized beds, with empty rooms to spare! The deck was a fabulous place to enjoy breakfast in the morning and cocktails in the evening, while the dock was our locale throughout each day. There are plenty of water crafts to use, including inner tubes and rafts, and there are fishing poles for use as well! Thanks to the outdoor fridge, we had cocktails and s'mores by the firepit and watched the stars. The basement houses a bunch of games, puzzles, a ping-pong table and Wii games to be played on the large TV. The very friendly neighborhood dogs came by each day to greet us with tail wags and licks, which made us feel right at home. Overall, we had one of the best vacations at this home and look forward to a return trip soon! Thanks Call of the Loon!
