About this house rental
This was my own home in DC for 15 years, and I loved it.
Towering end unit corner townhouse directly on Stanton Park. 3 blocks to Capitol and Union Station / metro. Fantastic location.
It is approximately 2700 square feet, spread out over three huge floors. 30 windows. Gorgeous detail. Two decorative fireplaces. Built in 1890 as grand residence. Stunning city and park views. Great restaurants literally around the corner.

The first floor is one living area, plus dining room, kitchen and half bath (with oversize washer/dryer).
The second floor is an informal living room / library, separate office, and bedroom with queen bed.
The top floor is the master bedroom with king size high-end tempurpedic bed, a middle bedroom with beautiful Asian antique armoires and queen bed, a third bedroom with queen bed, and a large bath with marble floors and beautiful shower.
NOTE: some photos may show the top floor middle bedroom as a dressing room. We recently added a queen bed but some photo collages may not reflect that.
This is a Capitol Hill Stay property. Capitol Hill Stay is a veteran-owned small business with 24 properties on Capitol Hill. We have been providing furnished lodging on Capitol Hill since 1997. We use excellent cleaners and pay them a living wage (they are best in DC if you ask me). And we have a professional full time property manager. Guests have total access. It has high speed internet, DirecTV with tons of channels, fully furnished, all linens, etc.

Capitol Hill is an outstanding neighborhood. It's historic, charming, and ideally located at the absolute geographic center of DC. Terrific safety, with the US Capitol police patrolling the area. Home to many politicians, media figures, etc. Eastern Market (farmers market and baker/butcher etc) is a few blocks away. Amazing restaurants and lively bars just around the corner!
Three blocks to Union Station red line metro.. Union Station train station is three blocks. Union Station is home to the major sightseeing tours. Capital Bikeshare kiosk is three blocks. We recommend Uber or Lyft to get around the city.
There is an apartment in the basement of this home. As such we would need people to be reasonably quiet on the first floor, where the kitchen and dining room are. Quiet hours would be from 10 pm to 7:30 am.

SINCE EVERY INQUIRY IS DIFFERENT AND THE BIGGEST FACTOR IN PRICE IS THE SPECIFIC DATES CHOSEN AND LENGTH OF STAY RATES MAY BE HIGHER OR LOWER THAN WHAT IS POSTED. PLEASE INQUIRE SO WE CAN DISCUSS PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.
Fall and winter months are very high demand, moreso this year than ever before as this is the first year that many federal agencies and private employers are bringing people back to DC, and they are making up for lost productivity during Covid.
And of course it's a presidential election year.
Most furnished housing providers in DC will only take bookings for three months or longer during these months. We will do less, but the rates do go up. And generally we try to match an incoming booking with an apartment that is available within a week or so of the requested date. For instance if you are seeking a month rental beginning July 1 we would want to match your request with a property available in very late June or July 1. If the property you inquired about seems to have an availability date that may not match up then you can always check HERE see all properties and their available dates.
Our average booking is around four to six months. We are primarily a longer term lodging provider. We can do shorter, but in the furnished housing business rates go up for shorter stays.

Property was great. House was clean, plenty of room with all of the amenities you'd have at home. Location was perfect for exploring the National Mall as well as the Eastern Market. We have already recommended it to our friends.

The home is rich in character and situated near shops and restaurants and in walking distance to the National Mall. The living spaces are nice in the home which is also in a good neighborhood. I would stay again in this property. The property manager was always available and there is an assigned parking space which is a commodity in DC. Highly recommend this home.

Accommodations were great .... VRBO customer service not so much!
Accomdations were great, except there weren't enough dining room chairs to host a Thanksgiving dinner for 6 around the dining room table.
We checked out of the apartment on Nov 24th. Our damage deposit was to be refunded to us by Dec 1st .... when it wasn't I contacted VRBO and they first said the owner hadn't approved the refund of the deposit. I checked with the owner and was advised the refund of the damage deposit was authorized immediately upon our checking out of the apartment. Bringing this info to the attention of VRBO, I was then advised that they couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me when the deposit would be refunded to my account. It finally showed up several days after the promised date of Dec 1st. In the future, we will think twice about using properties registered with VRBO.

Excellent Stay!
We spent four nights here with our children and their spouses, the home fit our needs and met all expectations. Clean and roomy. the location was excellent close to Union Station with restaurants, liquor store and an excellent neighborhood grocery all very close (two blocks). We are DC regulars and without hesitation would stay again!

Beautiful and comfy!

Perfect location
Was very pleased with the house. Great location, and amenities. Made us feel like we were in our nations capital as soon as we opened the door. We walked to dinner every night. lots of choices nearby. also walking distance to Union Station. Would definitely stay there again.
Another note, owner is retired military. i did not know that prior to booking, but was pleased. Always great to support our Vets.

The house was just what we needed. It was close to everything and had lots of space.
This house was a delightful place to stay in DC. It had everything we needed and was right where we wanted to be. There is plenty of space and it was very comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Amazing! The location was great. The house was great!
We stayed at the house for seven days while we had multiple business meetings. Having a parking space right st the house was huge for us. The property is also located right across the street from a park and playground it was perfect for taking the kids to. Union Station is an easy walk away where you can use public transportation to get anywhere in DC. The beds were very comfortable and so were the lounge areas. There is really nothing to complain about at all.
Suggestions for improvement :
Swap at cable TV with appletv. I wanted to watch my Netflix and Hulu shows but had no way to do it.
A little bit more of a supply of toilet paper would have been helpful.
Overall if the house is available I highly recommend it. I can't imagine there is a better place to stay in DC.

Family trip
We stayed at this property for a few days while touring DC with our 4 kids ages 5-10. The property was clean and there was plenty of space for our whole family. The property is located in a great area walking distance to Supreme Court, Congress etc. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the property manager who showed us the house. I would recommend this property.

Nicer than the pics no need for car
This place has an excellent location AND is a gorgeous home. Hard to find that combination in DC. Tons of space. Walk maybe two minutes to great restaurants. National Mall and Capitol are five minute walk at most. No need for a car. The owner was very responsive and met us in person. He should hire a professional photographer as though the pictures are accurate the place itself is a lot nicer in person.

Fantastic home. Huge. Unbeatable location.
Found this rental last minute and really lucked out. This house is beautiful - clean, charming, classic, and surprisingly large for a city home. It's right across the street from a quaint little park, and walking distance to everything. We toured the Capitol, Supreme Court, National Archives, and all of the shops and restaurants we could find. It's walking distance to the subway and Union Station, and getting an Uber was easy. Great find. Everything was as advertised, and the owner responded to my inquiry right away.

Beautiful home in fantastic location
I stayed here for several nights and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The space was clean, open, and beautifully furnished, but the biggest asset of this rental is its proximity to iconic locations like the Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the National Mall (they're all within a short walking distance). There are also dozens of unique bars and restaurants surrounding the area, which makes the exciting nightlife easily accessible. Brian and Phil were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they have created an unparalleled D.C experience with their amazing home. I can't wait to stay here again!

Absolutely fantastic location and space!
I stayed here with a group of friends and it was perfect! The home is huge (especially for the DC area) and very updated, while maintaining its historical charm. The location is as good as it gets- a short (5 minute) walk from the Capitol and all of the museums. Plus, there are tons of great restaurants within a couple of blocks. Brian and Phil were wonderful hosts- very helpful, welcoming, and accommodating. We will definitely be returning very soon!

Beautiful home in a great location
This home is beautiful with the architectural details of a historic home. It is light and airy with many windows and wonderful views. The house is spacious with several living areas and very clean. The kitchen is updated and furnished well. The Capitol is walking distance. There is a park across the street and restaurants around the corner. We enjoyed our stay so much that we added a day to our trip. The owner and manager were both very helpful. It is a great place to stay!
