At least 2 points just for the really good internet, amazing that a small villa invested in good internet when large chains in hotels I've stayed around the world haven't bothered with that. Interesting room and decor, definitely not bland. And the compound has some nice seating areas. Room is cleaned everyday though it took a few days before the sheets were changed. The area in Saly is not the resort area but not bad to be somewhere different, taxis take you to the main areas with about 1500cfa.

Not really fun to track the meter for airconditioning during vacation because it's charged at 180 cfa per kwh of the aircon used. Luckily there's a good fan too.

Exceptional

The apartment is very tastefully decorated, very quiet and a dip in the pool is always very invigorating. The staff is very friendly and always ready to fulfill the wishes. The beach is also very clean and the walk along the beach always lets you discover new places to stay.

Been There, Done That, and Not Going Back.

Saly is a quaint, rustic oceanside village without much modern infrastructure. I liked some of the artwork at the Riad. The staff was helpful in calling taxis for us.

We were charged an additional fee for use of the air conditioner. The bed mattress was hard, old, stained, and did not have proper bedding (the sheets did not fit the bed) including a mattress cover. The staff only speak French; we used Google Translate to communicate. The staff was fairly nice with very basic "customer service". My husband was not happy with the "laundry service"; he said the clothes came back dirtier than they were! LOL! Overall we mostly fended for ourselves. The Riad was not oceanfront or oceanview as advertised; it was a 15 minutes to walk to the beach using winding, unmarked streets.

Was okay given the price and quality

Nice pool area, table tennis available, and especially the appartments where very spacious. Room was clean. They where very flexible to let us stay a little longer for a small fee

Mosquito net was way to small for the bed, had to pay extra attention to the bill for electricity for the AC (advice to take a photo of the start position of the meter) and the taxi arranged by the hotel felt like a death trap (car looked and felt like it had been in a car crash, exhaust fumes filled the car, barely any lights, and given the short distance in retrospect expensive).

Stylish and clean hotel with nice staff

well maintained and clean. mosquito net on the bed. Nic nice swimmingpool and great staff. i ask them to have a late check out and they accepted without extra charge

there are no options to have breakfast outside the hotel and they charge you 4000 if you want to have breakfast there. i would do it more affordable

A hidden gem! Clean, polite, beautiful. Swimming pool, board games, ping pong available at the premises. Very artistic decor of the place.

Exceptional

Peaceful, spacious rooms, large tv with many channels, secure parking.

We were quite satisfied. My only suggestion is to add a fan in the living room. There was an a/c there but having a fan would be good when not using the a/c.

Beautiful and quiet staying in a residential neighborhood of Saly

It was the second time we stayed in this place and l loved it again! The room was clean, comfortable and l felt safe. Every little problem was immediately settled by the owners. They were also helpful to find a car with driver for some excursions. The nearby beach is in a walking distance, it is quite and nice, not as touristic as other parts of Saly. I highly recommend this place and l will go back.

We enjoyed our stay in Riad Côté Jardin very much. The room is furnished with great taste and attention. Nathalie & Thierry are very gentle and smart hosts. The whole area together with the pool exudes peace and seems like an oasis. We can recommend the Riad without any restrictions. We wish Nathalie & Thierry continued good luck with the implementation of new ideas. Thank you very much for this amazing stay in Saly Portudal.

We have enjoyed everything.

clean, well maintained, comfortable beds, nice pool area, quiet, friendly hoteliers and staff who were helpful with many aspects of our stay including being flexible about payment in euros and transfers to/from the airport

bit further from the beach than I’d imagined- not far but a trip out rather than a v low effort wander.

Very good

comfy place - it is special please in the area where you can just relax near the pool, i have one night , i came for one activate so don't have time to go around , but people was friendly, the owner arrange for my transportation

I wish they can keep sign for the hotel in the main road - it is just at the back of main road - but u need to ask to know where it is - it is about 15 min walking to the sea - so solo female like in my case need to get back before dark

An enjoyable stay, which would have been better if property description accurate. Senegal not for me

Breakfast and other meals excellent. Host cooked a special seafood platter with lobster for me. She was willing to get Vimto (not normally stocked) and bread. Organised taxis when needed, as I don't speak French.

Lighting on private terrace too low to let me read, and the same in my bedroom. Sockets at both sides of bed loose - told cleaner. The main problem was not being able to speak French. I live in Gambia - neighbouring country - and all in tourism make more of an effort to communicate. The host was great, but if she was out there was no-one else to sort a problem, even her husband only spoke a few words of English. The MAIN problem was booking.com description. The site confirmed a ground floor apartment, with private pool and mini-marketon site. Inaccurate. When I arrived the host had to ask guests in ground floor apartment to change with me - I use a crutch, and stairs would have been impossible. Had I not had confirmation with me, the host would not have believed me - she said confirmation TO PROPERTY was simply an apartment - no upper or lower floor.

All in all: Great value for money, service and location didn't impress.

The room and building is fantastic: Excellent wifi, pool, heritage building, spacious, clean, recently updated bathroom, lots of TV channels, even a mosquito net was included.

Service on the other hand wasn't fantastic: Paying 50% upfront via bank transfer and 'parisian' service - I felt sorry asking for assistance for day trips and for help in general. Also note that this Riad technically isn't based in Saly. It's a 45 minutes walk to reach what's known as Saly. Charging 20% per day extra for AC use was a surprise.

Wonderful place that feels like home with a warm welcome and all the comforts you can imagine.

The welcome and the comfort of the place and the decor.

The WiFi is a bit unsteady and slow. It was fine for basic operations but if I had to do teleconferences, it would be too slow at times.
