About this chalet rental
DURING SKI SEASON YOU NEED AWD/4WD TO DRIVE TO HOME
Location, Location, Location!! Our Bavarian Chalet is located at the base of Lift 4 with its access to the new Kachina Peak Lift. The Bavarian Restaurant and Après Ski fun is right outside your door. In the summer the Williams Lake hiking trail, Wheeler Peak (highest peak in New Mexico), mountain bike trails, hiking trails, fly fishing, horseback riding, etc are also right outside your door.
Once inside the Chalet you are greeted with the mountain chic interior design of Alexandra Champalimaud, 2012 inductee to the Interior Design Hall of Fame. Thanks to her efforts the Bavarian Chalets were recognized as a 2009 best of the year finalist by Interior Design Magazine.
After a long day skiing/snowboard, hiking or other outdoor activity you enter a mudroom (ample ski/snowboard and gear storage), a warm open plan living, kitchen and dining area with ample space for your group, powder room and gas fireplace. The second floor includes a master suite and a bunkroom. The master suite includes a luxurious king bed, desk, outside deck and private bath. The bunkroom includes 2 bunk beds (4 single beds), a desk and private bath. The third floor is a master suite with a luxurious king bed, sitting area, office and private bath.
The attached pictures by Emily Minton Redfield do a better job of illustrating the style and comfort which awaits you. The Chalet incorporates locally sourced materials, such as dead-standing timbers and locally inspired themes. The feature wall in the living room, timber framing and stainless steel firebox cladding all recall the valleys mining tradition. Artwork is comprised of old Taos ski advertisements, black and white wilderness photography and the like.

This home was exceptionally clean and very comfortable for two families totaling 7 guests. The short walk to Lift 4 cannot be beat. Brandon was a very responsive and helpful host. We absolutely loved our stay here.

Home was well suited for three generations of our family. Close to lift and yet you feel tucked away. Must have 4-wheel drive to navigate drive up.

Great house for a family
We had a great week long stay at this property. Kitchen was very well equipped. Very child friendly (games, some toys for younger kids, bunk beds), but also very relaxing for mom and dad. Office on third floor was great for remote working. Gorgeous location!

A true gem!
Exceptional location and amenities. This was our family's 2nd time renting here for spring break skiing - we really love it. Located next to Lift 4 and the Bavarian Restaurant, this Chalet has very modern features. The main floor's combined kitchen and great room make it a wonderful place to hang out together after a day on the slopes. Bedrooms and baths excellent, Wifi/Tech worked great. 4WD vehicle a must in winter to make it up to this out of the way location. Owners are wonderful to work with. I strongly recommend.

Perfect ski-in ski-out location
Not only was our stay great access to the slopes, having the Bavarian Restaurant right across the parking lot was an added bonus.

Wonderful winter getaway in the mountains
We absolutely enjoyed our time at the Bavarian Chalet in Taos Ski Village! Everything from the booking process back in March to the proactive communication from Brandon leading up to and during the stay was outstanding. The house itself is perfectly located up the mountain, a short walk from chair 4 lift and an even closer walk to the Bavarian Lodge. The house comfortably fit our two families (4 adults and 4 children, ranging from 15 to 10 months old) and was by far the best stocked and well-appointed home we have stayed in. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the chalet and hope to return again in the future!

Summer retreat
The condo was lovely and the location was perfect. We were the only guests in the six condos so it was extremely quiet. The weather was super, which was the real reason we were at TSV W e left 100 degree temperatures for the 40s. The kitchen was well stocked for dishes and utensils especially the cast iron skillets

Best ski house ever!
We have skied Taos for years but this was our first time to stay 'up the mountain'. It was awesome! We grabbed our skis at Cottam's before we drove up to the property; we missed grabbing our ski tickets because the office was closed. So the next morning we jumped on the green slope and skied down for our tickets. So convenient.
The house is amazing; decorated like a magazine shoot. Kitchen is ready for any gourmet cooking you can dream up (also worked well for our mac-n-cheese). Beds are super comfy and everything is so clean.
The owner is super helpful with questions and even offered great hiking advice (which the younger skiers in our group took).
I am sold on staying near the Bavarian. No lift lines, no crowds, 60 second walk to the lift. Great place.

Awesome Bavarian Chalet!!!
We recently stayed at this property for New Year’s Day. Location was beautiful, just outside of Lift 4. Extraordinary scenery and close to TSV. The Chslet is gorgeous, with lots of space and gadgets. The only downsize is the altitude. If you are not accustomed to go from lower elevetations to higher elevations (+10,000 ft), you may suffer from altitude sickness, which may include headache, dizziness, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing, some may also have coordination problems. Several of us experienced this at different levels. When your body gets used to altitude symptoms starts disappearing, but for us one or 2 people never got used to it. We also got a late winter and never got snow, so only 10% of the trails were open. Lift 4 was closed. We might try it at a later month. Overall our experience was pretty good. My 5 yr old kids loved it and even had some games and sleds to play with. Thank you to the owner for a great communication all the time and make us feel super welcomed. We will definitely be back!

Amazing property, exactly as described
Amazing property, exactly as described! The Bravarian chalet was warm and inviting and extremely stylish as the pictures displayed. It was equipped with all the amenities as described. All the bedding was super comfortable and the owners went over the top to accommodate our three-year-old daughter to provide her with toys from their home. We will definitely stay at this property again. The location was convenient to ski Valley and several restaurants on the mountain. We were extremely pleased!

Very nice and well appointed property.
This property is very nice and the lift is a short walk across a parking lot. We were surprised to learn a few things at the last minute. You must have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to drive up the mountain to get there. And when I say drive up, I mean straight up. Altitude is an issue if you aren't used to it. We noticed a big difference between the altitude at the base and the chalet. Also, the "chalet" is a duplex, there is another condo sharing a wall and parking with you. You are very close to the neighbors. All that said, the property was nice and the people on Taos mountain are very friendly.

Great property -- great location
This is a wonderful location and beautiful property. We had ski in ski out access, it snowed 5 inches while we we there, and it is the best ski mountain in the US for varied and steep terrain. Loved it.
And the owners were great to work with.
