About this villa rental
This wonderful newly renovated 3 bedroom villa is located just a short distance away from world renowned Ponte Vecchio (old bridge), which represents the very heart of the historic district of the city of Florence. Featuring 3230 sf of indoor living space as well as a beautiful private garden and gated parking, it is a truly ideal place to stay while visiting the city of Florence.
The whole villa has recently been extensively and carefully renovated with brand new beds, mattresses, sofas, curtains and carpets of the finest Italian quality as well as new paint for each room. Several unique pieces of furniture have also been added so to create a very elegant, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere.
The interiors of the villa are spread over two floors, described here below:
On the ground floor there is a large entrance room with powder room, double living room with TV (with Sky satellite channels), dining room with large table (that can seat up to 12 people), fully furnished kitchen and fully equipped laundry room. Both, the kitchen and the living room have direct access to the private garden.
The first floor features a master bedroom with attached walk-in closet and master bathroom (with jetted tub), 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (one with shower cabin). All bedrooms on the first floor are air-conditioned. All beds and mattresses are new.
Description of the outdoor area and parking:
The outdoor area of the villa features two backyards, the first with direct access from the ground floor’s kitchen and living room, the second from the first floor’s master bedroom. The first backyard features a complete set of outdoors furniture for guest to enjoy "al fresco" dining or just sitting/lounging outside.
There is also plenty of gated space available for the parking of eventual rental cars.
Location details: the villa is ideally located to visit the city of Florence, as it is only about a beautiful 15 minutes walk away (1.2 miles) from the Ponte Vecchio (Old bridge), world renowned Uffizi museum or piazza della Signoria (to name just a few examples) which represent the very heart of the historic district of the city of Florence.
As an alternative to walking, there is a bus service that works extremely well, with plenty of buses running in and out the historic district of the city every few minutes (the nearest bus stop is located within a 2 minutes walk away from the villa). So either on foot, by bus or by taxi it is very easy to reach the historic center of town, without the need of having a rental car.
The nearest restaurants, cafes, breakfast places, pharmacy, grocery stores, etc.. are all within walking distance.
Please not that is not included in the price city tax of € 2.50 per person per night for the first 6 days

Guests raved about the spacious and high-end villa, the beautiful gardens, and the attentive hosts, noting it as a perfect location for sightseeing and as a respite from the crowds.

We needed a place for three couples, and the house on Via Michelangeolo worked beautifully for us.The house is lovely, homey and fully stocked to meet a visitors' needs. The owner's representative was on time and easy to reach when we needed help on a small item that came up. The location works well for being outside the historic district, as taxis came quickly and there are bus stops within five minutes' walk. We went in August, when the weather was very, very hot. In a milder time of year, there would be a lovely walk up to the Piazzola Michelangelo and San Miniato al Monte.

6 of us stayed here during our 2 week trip to Italy. It was a huge spacious house that was exquisitely decorated and had everything we needed. The gardens were beautiful. The kitchen was gourmet and a joy to cook in with fresh herbs right outside the door! The location was great. Easy walking distance to the main areas of Florence. Carolina was a lovely host and set us up with everything we needed. The only downside was that communication with Caterina when booking was a little difficult at times and I was a little worried about how it would all work out but everything was perfect. It was an incredible oasis during a busy trip!

This property was a true respite after a busy day in the City Center and seeing the sights of Florence

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Villa in Florence. The villa was ideally situated away from the crowds, across the Arno, but still close to the City Center. We did not have a car so we easily walked to all the major sites in Florence within 30 or so minutes - finding gems all along the way.
The pictures do not do the villa justice. It was expansive and high end with original art work, loads of books and historical items. This house would be ideal for couples, and families with older children. Very elegant. I would not recommend for younger children just given the amount of breakables. The gardens were just a lovely addition to have available during the downtimes. There was a fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals and a full sized (US) refrigerator for long stays/larger groups.
Robert, the groundskeeper, was such a great resource in meeting us at arrival and getting us situated. I did note in my rating that our check in was a bit less than ideal as the contact information provided online was outdated and I had to pull VRBO in the day before check in to make sure we actually had a place to stay. The owner, Caterina, was very quick to respond and provide updated check in instructions, assuaging my concerns.
All in all this villa is an excellent setting for sightseeing during the day and finding a charming respite away from the noise and crowds. Ciao!

We spent three days at this beautiful villa. So much room. Peaceful with beautiful gardens. Stocked kitchen, comfy bed. We had tea on the patio every morning and everywhere we went. Robert and Caterina were always available and so accommodating. This would be a great property for multiple couples or a family.

We are a well traveled family that appreciates a home to hotels depending the city. We choose to stay within walking/bus distance to the city but far enough away to have a stand alone property with yard, less tourists and space for three teens and parents!
This home exceeded our expectations of quiet luxury, keenly appointed art, linens, bedding-with housekeeper.
It is very important to have comfortable well appointed beds and Robert ensured daily cleaning of towels and linens. This is a sophisticated home with rugged, multilevel landscaping. It was perfect for our family but I would caution young families. Caterina furnished and decorated the home with beautiful art...my children are accustom but small children beware.
We also loved the ensuite bathrooms and size of the bedrooms. We all felt we had private space yet can join together for family dinners and trips into the city.
The location is on a main road. Two gardens are a bit noisy but the garden off of the master is peaceful- just less accessible for family.
Robert was the star of our week. A beautiful soul who made our stay absolutely pristine. There was nothing Robert couldn't attend to. As a mom I was able to completely relax and enjoy only my family, the city and the beautiful home!

We loved our stay at Gavinana. The pictures featured on the listing are representative of the home, which is amazing! There was ample room for our family of 6 adults, so that everyone could have some privacy. The location is on the beautiful Viale Michelangiolo, and a nice 20 minute walk from the Piazzale Michelangelo, with one of the best panoramic views of Florence to be found. At first, we were concerned that we might be too far away from the city center, and the sights we were eager to explore, but it proved to be the perfect location and a respite from the crowds of tourists. The home had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. We found wonderful restaurants, parks, and a grocery store all within an easy walk from the house. We hope to return to Florence one day, and we will most certainly return to Gavinana when we do!

Rented this for four nights in September. The house was very clean and large enough for seven of us. Loved sitting out on the patio in the morning drinking coffee and in the evening sitting around with family having drinks. The beds were really comfortable and the air conditioning worked great in the bedrooms. No one in our group had any complaints. We even were able to wash and dry our clothes before heading to Tuscany for another week. It was within easy walking distance to the bus stop and the cafe on the corner we were able to buy our bus tickets. Just make sure you punch them when getting on. Plenty of restaurants within a short walking distance also. Glad we picked this house after looking at all the available places to rent.

Our stay here was wonderful. The living space is generous and beds are very comfortable with quality bedding. We found the house to b extremely soundproof which was important as the street it is on has heavy traffic noise even through the night. That being said the location is fantastic!
We were able to walk to the Duomo, about a 20 min walk, and there is a gelato shop nearby that is outstanding.
Our only complaint was that we were only given one set of keys for 5 people which made it difficult for us when our group separated. Keys were needed for the gate and doors to home. We also had difficulty using the washer and dryer as there are no instructions written in English. We would recommend having a written instruction translation.
We are especially grateful to the housekeeper, Loredana. She was incredibly helpful and kind. Would definitely stay again!

This is a wonderful home just outside the city which was a perfect location. Quiet at nite and extremely easy to take a five minute taxi ride into the heart of the city. The property had ample parking and was clean with very large rooms. I would definitely stay again when I visit Florence again

The villa was perfect for us - 2 adults and 4 teenagers. A good walk into the heart of the city through some great streets and areas. Decent restaurants nearby too. Lovely hosts.

Upon our arrival Caterina greeted us with a warm smile and handshake. She showed us around the property and villa, which is more fabulous than the pics reveal. This house is above and beyond what we expected. It has been finely upgraded, well preserved and is well appointed. You will want for nothing - Caterina has thought about everything. If we travel to Florence again we will certainly not look for another place. This one is it! Thank you for providing us with such a fabulous villa, Caterina!

We were a family group of 7 and had a wonderful stay in Caterina's villa, which was comfortable and full of character. It was nice to have spacious rooms, plenty of drinking water, nice towels, a well equipped kitchen, separate laundry area and private parking. Location was perfect, in a leafy neighbourhood of Oltarno, away from the mad tourist crowds yet still very convenient for access to central Florence. I couldn't have found a better place!

This is the most beautiful place we have ever rented. Thank you Caterina (et al) for the wonderful experience. Everything was sparkling clean, and the location was stellar. We appreciate all that was done to make our visit a truly memorable one!

Location was perfect for us. Very safe. Caterina and her husband are so nice. Water was out one day thru no fault of owners and it didn’t really affect us. We would definitely stay here again.

Great house with all the amenities you need for a big family (we were 7 and it was perfect).
The owner and her assistant Marusca were very friendly and helpful with everything.
The location was really great , so close to the city and Ponte Vecchio, yet in a very nice green area.
Would come back without hesitating for a next trip in Toscana.
