We had a great time at Lake Wentworth. Our granddaughters had fun playing on the sandy beach and our grandsons had fun jumping off the swim platform and fishing. We had beautiful views of the lake and the mountains beyond it.
Overall it was a fun, happy, memorable week.

Excellent property on a beautiful lake! The kids had a blast and there was so much space for sleeping and hanging out!

We had a very relaxing week, the house was so comfortable to us. The area is very quiet when we stayed in June. The Loons were very vocal at night and it was so peaceful sitting out on the deck listening to their cry. The house was well outfitted and had everything we could ask for. There is a nice dock for fishing and a plus was a sandy swimming area!
We are definitely considering on returning

Superb experience

My family of 10 was in town for a wedding, and this house was perfect! There was plenty of space for all of us, and our favorite spot was the dock! We enjoyed sitting on the dock, taking in the beautiful views, and enjoying a little bit of peace and time together. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to relax here!!

11 family members comfortably stayed under one roof and created lasting memories together. This cabin delivered on our expectations. The sunrises on the dock are worth the price of admission.
The accommodations are no frills functional, inspiring you to take advantage of all the outdoors have to offer. The lake has been one of our favorite destinations, for over 3 generations, and this cabin delivered on the expected standard.

Property provided an excellent opportunity for family gathering and water sports. Air conditioning the two upper floors would greatly improve the properties appeal.

My family ( adults, children and grandchildren) truly enjoyed our time here. There was plenty of space for us to gather to play games, watch movies and eat our meals. The kitchen was well stocked for anything you might need for cooking.
There are plenty of beds for large families.
We all enjoyed sitting out on the dock to watch the beautiful sunset. Lots of comfortable outdoor
seating with a great fire pit for toasting marshmallows.
Daniel was available for any questions that we had.
It rained quite a bit during our week, but Daniel let us rent his motorboat the last two nice days we had. That was wonderful! Thank you! We had a great time.

Con’s of the lake view cottage
1) Ants in the kitchen and main floor bathroom( last day they were plentiful on the kitchen counter)
2) Gas heaters on main floor and basement, were hard to start and use.
3) 2 bathrooms was not enough for our 7, couldn’t imagine if there were 12, as advertised on VRBO.
4) Shower outside was a glorified hose and nozzle. This outside shower needs an enclosure around it for privacy.
5) Inside furniture needs replacement-old & not comfortable
6) Owner wants us to rate his cottage a 5(really, maybe a 2.5)
7) The owner’s notebook of rules/directions, needs to be updated with proper instructions. It reads as a military manual(Do this/don’t do that, etc)
8) Bed linens thread bare and not enough sets to cover a bed.
9)Fan in bedroom very dusty I attempted to wipe screen clean before using.
10) Ants in main floor bathroom were in abundance on floor shower and sink.
11) Other places we have rented provided linens as part of the rental.
12) Broken screen door to the top deck making opening slider impossible.
13) Sound proofing ceiling in lower bedroom was not effective
Pro’s of the lake view cottage
1) Beautiful waterfront view-priceless
2) Pier-very good.
3) Red pier chairs- very nice
4) Outside main floor deck- nice
5) Parking-good
6) Basement bdrms and bath-very nice
7) Water toys(canoe,etc)-nice selection

Very comfortable for 4 adults. 7 planned, 3 cancelled! Hosts Dan and Jen were outstanding and communicated clearly on all aspects of the property! 2 things: experienced ants in multiple locations and the gas stove would not light on a damp rainy morning. Thank you. grego

This was a great house that was able to hold a large group of friends. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of plates/cups/utensils for all 10 of us for our weekend. It was located in a great area which gave us lots of options for activities. The appliances were clean as well as the rest of the house. We appreciated the ability to use the kayaks and canoe along with the oars and life vests. Definitely recommend and will keep in mind for future trips!

The house was perfect for 8 of us. House was comfortable. Kitchen small but well stocked. Outside lake front area was all we needed. Canoes, kayaks, dock, comfortable chairs and fire pit. Lots of wildlife, deer, otters, fish, bald eagles and lots of spiders!

My family and I got to use this cottage for a family vacation. The location and docks are gorgeous. The newly renovated downstairs is beautiful. This is a rustic, old-school cottage so be prepared for some spiders. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. I do recommend bringing your own bedding.

We fell in love with Lake Wentworth while visiting friends a few years ago and were able to find this house early. There are hardly any rentals around the lake, most of the houses are kept private, so this is a rare find. Here's my list of Pros/cons:
Pros:
- amazing spot right in the lake. It's the whole reason why we were there and it totally delivered on that. The lake itself is mostly calm and was warm and pleasant to swim in during our stay in August
- the dock and other outdoor spaces were terrific... Kayaks, a paddle board and canoe with lots of paddles and life jackets to use. We brought our own paddle board, but it was nice to have all these other toys for everyone to use.
- nice outdoor deck with a long table for sitting outside and fitting a lot of people. The indoor dining table was really long and also nice to dine at one end and have our setup of games at the other end
- location to the town of Wolfeboro is supper convenient
Cons:
- the place could have been cleaned much better before we arrived... Seemed like they rely too much on the people staying before to do most of the cleaning even though they say they have cleaners
- not too much of a con, but the house is more on the rustic side (which they state in the description). It's pretty typical of most of these houses in the area, but given the price of what is being charged, I can see how some people may be a bit put off by it. Our family isn't fussy about it too much, so it didn't bother us... The lake is all we cared about!
- we were a family of 11, but was charged for extra people even though the listing says it sleeps 12? My fault for not contesting more, but doesn't seem right
It's a pricey listing, but seems to be what you can expect in this area with low rental inventory. In all, we had a pretty good stay and may be back!

A really nice spot. The swimming was great, with easy access to the water and plenty of comfortable chairs on the dock. There was plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 kids, with lots of sleeping options. The living room had more than enough seating as well as a nice long dining table. The galley kitchen is a bit difficult to work in and they could use some wine glasses and update the utensils.
Some in our party were bothered by the sometimes musty lower level. And the whole house could use a thorough deep cleaning.
Overall, it’s a good spot for families who want a lake experience.

Had a nice time
We were very surprised when we got the check in details (after completing the rental paperwork and payment) that we were expected to provide our own linens and towels. Luckily once we told the owner that we were coming from out of state they provided the linens and towels, however we needed to make the beds when we got there and then wash and dry everything before leaving. I am definitely not used to that while on vacation. In addition it was clean for the most part, however definitely a lake rustic cabin with lots of cobwebs, pineedles and dirt. We did rent the fishing boat however really struggled getting the motor lowered into the water and only were able to use it twice before the pull string did not work. I will say the owner was very reachable and responsive.

Will definately stay again
We stayed for an extra long weekend. Myself and husband, both our adult children with spouses and each of their 3 children. There was plenty of room for all. Fully stocked with life jackets, The kyaks and paddle board were great! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, flatware, cooking unensils, pots and pans. There are plenty of linnens if you need, also towels. The washer and dryer are very handy. The host Dan was excellent about answering any question in a timely manner, before and during our stay. Would definately stay again!!

Magnificent spot!
Very pleased with our stay. This is the second time we have rented and it was nice to see the improvements that have been done since the last time. Home was very comfortable for the 10 people in our family.
We have rented many years in this area and it is nice to see when owners put back into their investment.
Some suggestions that can be made: 1. Correct the tv card that list stations available- most that show availability do not. 2. Mattress on main level should be replaced. 3. It listed 7 tv but counted 4. 4. Maybe a ping pong table or other activity could be added downstairs for rainy days.
Loved our stay. We recommend this listing. Definitely will seek to rent this home again, maybe a time during the summer months.
Thanks again

Off season serenity
Had a amazing time soaking in the silence of the lake - just the sounds of the loons. House had an amazing atmosphere - well loved and comfortable. How can you go wrong with starry nights laying on the dock, campfires with a view, and lake swimming with bald eagles gliding over head? Can’t wait to come back!

Memorial for Dad
Location and setting was wonderful. Camp was not clean, grill could not be used. All the supplies were not there. The sleeping area in lower level was very musty, not good if you have alligees. Owners answered calls but could not help.

Relaxing Getaway
Our family enjoyed our time on the Lake, very peaceful, not a lot of boat traffic. Used the Kayaks and canoe, loved the floating dock. Had a few rainy days but the living room was large enough for all of us to gather and play games. Will definitely look to come back, hopefully with a week with less rain.

Great Lake Side Location, but not Fully Air Conditioned
The location on the lake was gorgeous and the lake amenities provided were great, but the house itself was disappointing. We’re used to staying in rustic accommodations but the house did not seem to have been cleaned well between guests - there was food and clothing left under the beds by the previous guests that we had to clean, along with all the silverware which also hadn’t been cleaned well.
We also booked this place under the assumption it was entirely air conditioned - which does seem to be an issue with the website as the owner’s page shows differently - but only one bedroom downstairs was air conditioned. This was fine on most days, but once it hit 90 it was too uncomfortable to be anywhere in the house except the air conditioned room. The owners were very quick to reply and seemed very nice, but this place just didn’t meet our expectations for the price.
