All was perfect.

The flat was very nice: great view, right next to a beach and with a well equipped kitchen. We really liked these features and did not miss things such a private pool, but just enjoyed the sea. There are a couple of mini markets and an array of more artesanal (expensive) shops selling meat, fish, cheese and vegetables nearby. A bit larger supermarket is less than kilometer away and a shopping trolley is provided for this (we had no car with us). For wider varieties and better prices for self catering one may need to go for Carrefour of Leclerc a bit further away. Alternatively, there are several restaurants right in the same building and more along the Mourillon beaches. Bus line 3 connects the neighbourhood to city center, for instance the railway station, so one does not necessarily need to take a cab.
The check-in was a bit more uncertain we would have liked: the Vrbo portal had two telephone numbers, one of which was not in use and the second one was not replied. Consequently, we had to approach the apartment without fresh contact, based only on the estimated time of arrival given while booking. After some unpleasant, confusing moments close to the door it turned out the lady who was supposed to take care of the check-in was not available that day and we were approached by another one. After this relief everything went well (only in french, though): things had been taken care of quite as they should have, but we did not know this beforehand and were worries since none of our calls were answered.
The air conditioning unit worked well enough, although it was rather loud when operating. As described, there was only one of these, but those in the other bedroom managed well enough with a fan. Also, a toilet without a possibility to wash ones hands seemed somewhat strange to us. All other features were just positive, during our stay we mostly cooked our dinners ourselves and were grateful for things such as oyster knife, champagne bottle stopper and sharpening rod for knives.

Great Beach Stay
Check in process was quite difficult and stressful for us because we do not speak French. We met the woman who had the keys on the street after calling someone to translate for us because we had difficulty finding the apartment. She was waiting for us, but we were lost in translation and had no idea it was her. Our gps led us in the other direction that the host suggested for finding the apartment. From the street you cannot read the residence names. I would suggest looking for the brown overhangs if they are rolled out and simply the word Pizzeria from the street where the tester aunts are located. The apartment is in between the group of restaurants on the street. Also, if you have a larger car, don’t even think about parking in the parking garage. We had to take off our roofrack and the space in the garage was just too small. For reference though we have a minivan. After the arriving and parking part, we never left! It was perfect. We were looking for a beach view and a close beach. We really enjoyed the balcony view. The shower was fantastic although the oven is outdated. My children also really enjoyed the sand toys in the apartment and we left 2 floats for the next family. I wanted to add, the quick grocery stores nearby are enough for fast time food, but if you want to really cook at the apartment, you need to hit up a grocery store before coming to the apartment. We came mid July and the city was quite busy. We enjoyed walking through the market the host described in the guest book. There is a nice bakery to the left of market (view from if you are walking back home). Thanks for hosting us! It’s exactly what we needed.

Toulon Le Mourillon
I cannot imagine anywhere better to stay if renting an apartment in the Toulon area. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The view from the lounge and the balcony is stunning. Toulon's beaches are literally just across the road. There are shops and restaurants on the doorstop. A walk into Toulon would take about 20-25 minutes. With frequent local buses the journey takes just over 5 minutes. The perfect location for anyone wanting to tour in and around Toulon.

The Perfect Spot
This nicely appointed apartment is in a wonderful location. The view overlooking the Mediterranean Sea also takes in the promenade, St Louis Fort and Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer. The views were just astounding with breathtaking sunrises almost very morning. There are restaurants on the first floor of the building and within close walking distance. The bus stop is just steps away from the building allowing us to explore Toulon and the nearby areas. The Cours Lafayette, a huge open air market is about 10-15 minutes by bus. Most of the tourist attractions in Toulon are a short bus ride away or in walking distance. The Mourillon open air market and shops and more restaurants are within 15 minutes walking distance.
The apartment itself is very clean, spacious and well equipped. We had everything we needed for an extended comfortable stay. We were so impressed by this property that we are planning a return trip.
Finally, the owner was extremely helpful, with many suggestions about getting to the property and sites to see. He also facilitated arranging the key pick up from the property manager who only speaks French. Even through our language difficulties, the property manger was extremely helpful and accommodating. All in all we had a memorable, comfortable, trouble free vacation.

Great place to use as a vacation base
We had a wonderful time staying here during our France vacation! It is in a great location close to markets and shops and right across from the beach and boardwalk. Having an inside garage space was also a plus as parking in the area is difficult. Once there you can walk to most places in the area. It also worked perfectly for us as a base to do daily trips to the Provence and French Riviera, but we also enjoyed Toulon and everything it has to offer. The view is spectacular from the living and dining rooms and from the spacious deck and we especially loved watching all of the long distance swimmers and big and small boats of every kind coming and going from Toulon's harbor. The unit is pretty well equipped. Our only complaint is that the unit was not really clean. We had to do mopping of the floors and the kitchen counters were dirty. This unit could use a really good deep clean. Also, if you do not speak French, be sure to make your arrival and departure plans well ahead of time to pick up your garage, entry and unit keys and codes. There is no receptionist or check-in counter -- you will need to get these from a building superintendent who doesn't speak English. You will need to call her on her phone or talk to her on the building intercom. Somehow we were able to communicate by gestures as she gave us a tour of the building and unit. It all worked out fine. Just part of the adventure of vacationing in a foreign country!!!!

An excellent apartment, well equipped and so close to the beaches of Le Mourillon. It was , however , very hot and the 2 electric free-standing air-conditioners didnt work very well. This might not be a safe flat to take children to as the kitchen window opened wide and low.

Honeymoon Nov. 2016
My Husband and I got married on October 1, 2016 and decided to split our honeymoon between Iceland & France. We stayed here for 5 days at the tail end of our trip & absolutely Loved it!! The view of the ocean from the balcony is spectacular. We enjoyed so many things from swimming in the Mediterranean to shopping at the outside market & having fantastic dinners in the many restaurants right downstairs from the building. The apartment was clean & beautiful. We also felt safe with the security and underground parking that was available to us. There was so much to see here and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We would absolutely recommend this home away from home to anyone who wants to experience the quaint towns of France and it's wonderful people.

Amazing and spectacular
This was our second stay at the lovely 2 bedroom in the mourillon and as it was the case during our first stay , this was a wonderful place to rest and enjoy the amazing view. Although this was November we still braved the weather and enjoyed swimming which was actually much warmer than expected. everything with the apartment is as described and the convenience to the market , many boulangeries , small shopping store and the beach make this a perfect retreat for any one looking for a wonderful time. Several restaurant near by offer all the choices although we did mostly buy our groceries and cooked our food , enjoying the view on the balcony during any meal. Highly recommend this one of a kind great find!

Fantastic week away!
We spent 6 nights here and it was truly terrific. The location and aspect is 2nd to none, 30 seconds to the beach and a couple of minutes from bars, fresh markets, cheese shops etc.
Nice safe clean apartment complex. Check in and out was simple and straightforward.
Would definitely go back.

My girlfriends and I stayed here for a week after trekking Mt Blanc. Wow. 100 per cent accurate listing...spacious, million dollar view from balcony, clean, modern kitchen and bathroom for absolute comfort after sight seeing. The beach is amazing for long ocean swims..anf literally out your door. We ate at the beach restaurants and were amazed by the quality and prices. Many many thanks Cyril for sharing a piece of French heaven

The view is fantastic from the living room & terrace ! bed are good quality, bathroom must be fairly new & Kitchen is offering everything you need. Beds were already prepared with sheets, towels, etc.. same with dish towels!
the parking box is quite small, so was challenging to park our VW Sharan car in there. but we could park in the street easily. very nice & cosy shopping street just behind the building - 200m with all sorts of Food, beverage, decorations & divers shops.
was a great stay!

A little piece of paradise!
My daughter and I arrived at this beautiful condo after a very busy time in Paris. We stayed for 5 days and wished it could have been longer. The condo was lovely with a wonderful fresh breeze blowing through from front to back. Such a thrill looking at that fantastic view!
We took advantage of the beach daily and loved the variety of eating venues all around. Everyone was friendly and encouraging of my French. We also walked to the market and ate some meals in the condo.
Toulon is easy to navigate with their city buses as we didn't have a car. We particularly loved the cable car ride up to Mont Faron.
A memorable time! Thanks to the owner, who was professional, courteous and helpful in answering all my questions.

Terrific view, misleading description
Cyril was professional to deal with, and responded within a reasonable amount of time. His apartment has a terrific view, a newly re-modeled bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen. Pictures were representative of how the apartment looks in person.
What was not properly represented was that this apartment does not have air conditioning. While this may not be an issue for some people, and only a factor during 1-2 months in the summer, I specifically searched for an apartment that stated it had air conditioning, and was very disappointed when I learned I had pre-paid and signed a contract for this apartment for 6 weeks in the dead of summer and it has never had air conditioning. The description on both VRBO and Homeaway clearly states that it does. To put this in perspective, the temperature each day in July in Toulon this year has been between 31-37 degrees celsius, and humid. I paid a large sum of money for something that was not accurately represented, and that soured me on this entire rental.
I asked Cyril about the air conditioning to make sure I wasn't just missing the control somewhere, and he told me the apartment did not have it. As recently as 2 weeks ago, after I left this apartment, I specifically asked Cyril to adjust his website descriptions to not say they had air conditioning because they were not true. Looking right now, he still has not done so. This is intentionally misleading on his part, and in and of itself would prevent me from renting from him again.
Alibis: One of the dining room chairs broke underneath me when I sat on it (I'm a whopping 180 lbs). I accidentally spilled water on the kitchen floor after putting dishwasher detergent in the washing machine. The fan I retrieved from the basement crumbled and fell over from rust, but not before ruining the shirt I was wearing with rust when I carried it upstairs.

A little slice of Heaven!
I rented this apartment for myself and some friends for my son's wedding. His reception was held in Fort St Louis, which is almost literally across the street! Although we had to do some room juggling (the photos lead one to believe there are a set of twin beds in each room, but one room has only a double), it was an absolutely wonderful place to stay! The setting is just fantastic! It was comfortable, surprisingly quiet, fairly well equipped (including beach mats and snorkel equipment), with several local eateries right downstairs and also on the beach. It was only a 20 minute walk to the main harbor, market, and shopping, or you could catch the bus as the stop was across the street. One never got tired of the view from the big balcony! We spent many an evening there after a day at the beach or exploring Toulon. The locals were very friendly and helpful and somehow we always found a way to communicate!
I would definitely stay here again!

Le Propriétaire est très aimable .
Le quartier du Mourillon à Toulon est un quartier résidentiel bien fréquenté et familial.
Il y a beaucoup de visites Touristiques et historiques à y faire.

A relaxing week away!
Our American family had a relaxing and wonderful week while in this apartment. The owner was nice, honest, prompt, and represented the space accurately. The beds were new and fabulous (one the size of a queen and the other room had two twins). The kitchen was redone only 6 months ago, so it was clean and nicely furnished.
Toulon surprised us in many ways. First and foremost, everyone was extremely kind. We didn't hear a word of english....SO refreshing.....but everyone tried to help us find our way and they were eager to use what language skills they had ( we could always communicate). People were so happy!
We arrived by train. The taxi ride was 13 euro to arrive and 17 euro (we had a reservation) to depart from the apartment.
60 % of the french military fleet are at this harbor. There is a great amount of history to be had. We took a water tour of the harbor (10 euro each, but they gave us 4 for the price of 3....see, so nice!). The tour was in french but we had a written english version. A young french girl came to help us. Again, so nice, so kind and so happy to come to our aid unsolicited.
There are many, many young men in Toulon. Our daughters (23 and 20) felt safe but also appreciated the attention.
The apartment did not have air conditioning. There was a stand up fan and reliable evening breeze. The apartment was not spotless, but comfortably clean.
We found a grocery store and bakery within a 5 minute walk. Our morning and midday food cost about 25 euros total (for 4, breakfast and lunch)per day at the grocery and dinners were usually 15-20 euros each per night. We spent about $150.00 per day( for 4) on food and meals out.
Toulon boasts about having a beach that is wheelchair friendly. Yes, we saw many locals in wheelchairs. They seem to have an area to get into the water as well as a nice boardwalk to take advantage of. Parking is flat and wheelchair friendly.
Yes, for so many reasons I would recommend this wonderful apartment.

Glorious apartment in Toulon
We stayed in this beachfront apartment for one month, and it was one of the best vacations we've had. The view alone is worth a million dollars; you can see the Mediterranean for 180 deg right from the balcony, while you are sipping your end--of-day wine. You are right across from a lvery arge stretch of three white sand beaches which are groomed each day and also a park area with a large play area for children. You can be "self-contained" in the area - a few blocks north is a very quaint street with patisseries, boulangeries, a small grocery, and lots of other shops - food and clothing. In addition, if you continue up that street you come to the "small" outdoor market where you can get wonderful fresh fruits and veggies. There are also lots of restaurants right downstairs from the apartment. If you have a car you can go to the huge main market (in the Mayol Centre) which runs for blocks and blocks and is fantastic. Toulon is also a wonderful base for taking some spectacular day trips.
The apartment was clean and quite spacious. All the floors are marble, the queen sized bed is very comfy, the kitchen has all the mod-cons, including a clothes washer; and most essential in that climate, there are windows in the front and back of the apartment so you can get a cross breeze to cool off. Furthermore, when you close off the bedrooms with the french door that is between them and thellarge living area, the the bedrooms become so quiet, even if there is still noise outside.
Cyril was easy to communicate with, both before and during our trip. There is a manager in the apartment who can help with keys and showing you around the apartment and where things are. There is also an underground garage, suitable for a small car. We did not have trouble street parking, which is what we did most of the time (though the summer months might be different) .
We would be delighted to stay here again!

Toulon by the Beach - What a Pleasant and Interesting Experience
After having been to France many times, we finally decided to take the opportunity to spend some serious time in Provence. Our first inclination was to book in a small inland town, but when we saw a place on the water we quickly changed our minds and booked for the month of May.
Sometimes the gods are kind!
What a great experience. We have only good memories about Toulon, the neighborhood, and the apartment.
The view is spectacular, there are tons of restaurants, or if you prefer to buy and cook yourself, there are many local shops and a daily market well within walking distance.
The apartment is bright and airy, and fully equipped.
We rented a car so having a parking space in the garage was a bonus - street parking is available but sometimes it can be challenging to find a spot.
There are many lovely towns and villages in France, and if you read the North American guide books you may be reluctant to choose Toulon - DON'T. It's charm lies derives from the fact that it is not focused on tourists, but there are endless things to do on the waterfront and in town.
And even though our French is fractured at best, everyone was considerate and helpful.
A restaurant suggestion - there is a creperie near the local outdoor market that is small but fantastic - reservations required. Mostly local people who the owners know by name, but they will treat you great.

We hope to stay again!
Wonderful place in great location with ocean view. Beach is right across street with several km of playgrounds for the kids. Lots of nice restaurants below in the building complex. Underground parking was very helpful. Large balcony was nice to enjoy sunset. The building owner, Cyril, was very pleasant to deal with and responsive.

Beach front!
Our stay at the Toulon apartment was a good experience. The view to the beach from the large and lovely 5th floor balcony, and having such easy access to the swimming was a joy. The apartment was large enough to easily accommodate four adults. The kitchen was a nice space with all things needed. All the beds were twin beds, but the bedroom size was good. With the balcony doors open, and the bedroom windows open, there was a nice breeze at night to cool us down. The location in a residential neighborhood, within walking to downtown was a bonus.

We stayed in the apartment in December of 2010. The apartment is all the add says, the owner was very accommodating and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable about renting a property over the Internet. The apartment was comfortable in a very nice area with easy access to the bus lines (which we used daily). I would suggest you find out how to use the washer/dryer and bring your converter.

Wonderful apartment. Spectacular views of the beaches. Apartment is palacial with 2 separate bedrooms, full kitchen, huge livingroom with balcony that overlooks the beautiful beaches. The caretakers are very helpful and always available. Many restaurants within walking distance. We particularly liked the restaurant on the street level, The St. Louis....their mussels are delicious! There is also a daily market in town. Very easy to drive in town. I highly recommend this apartment.
