We enjoyed our time in this cozy little room! Very accessible to everything around the middle of the island and only a short ride to beach parking. We would recommend for any couple!

This was a perfect little suite for my mom and I to spend the weekend at the beach. The place was clean. We had a great time! The host was very responsive to all my questions and very helpful. The address for the place isn’t very clear but we managed to find it based on some coordinates I found in the booking. The cable wasn’t working for the room, and the host told me to call the provider ourselves to fix it. Overall, we had a great stay, but the lack of amenity cards was very disappointing.
While the description of the property was accurate, I will say we didn’t understand that since the owner did not have amenity cards, you pretty much can’t do anything on the island, nor can you buy an amenity card yourself. You have to go through the owner’s member card to get one, and it was not available for this property. You can’t eat at any of the restaurants or food trucks because you have to check in with your amenity card. You also can’t use any of the pools, which seems ridiculous since the property is directly across from the main pool. Got to hear everyone living it up all the pool all day without being able to use it ourselves. If you’ve never been to Fripp Island like us, you may not realize you need an amenity card to do everything. The closest places to get food or groceries are about 40 min away. All the restaurants the host recommended are in Beaufort or Port Royal, which are a lengthy drive away and not obvious if you’re not from the area.

Small unit, some of the fixtures are dated, but it was comfortable and within a short walk to the beach. The beach was beautiful and the weather was nice when we were there. There were a few things we didn’t have access to without a member card, but we had a great time. The host was very helpful.

We loved how close this was to the pool, beach and central island. Just the right space for us and the dog! The host was very responsive whenever we needed anything. Would for sure stay here again.

We needed an overflow place, and this fit the bill! My five and three-year-old grandsons joined me here for three nights. Our "secret lair" was steps away from the Captain John Fripp Villas where the other family members were staying. If your expectations fit the description, you will not be disappointed!

great location but in need of a renovation. The fact that an amenity card can't be purchased, made this property less desirable for us to consider renting again.

Had to cut our trip short because of the hurricane - our choice. Everything was as expected.

Condo was dirty upon arrival. Counters sticky / had coffee cup rings, bedding felt damp and gross, a few stray hairs on the bathroom sink, and the floor so dirty it turned two swiffer pads black. Sent pictures of all of this to the property contact because she didn’t seem to believe us. We cleaned it and changed the sheets, our only other option from the property was to cancel our stay. That’s when we discovered the first night that there are mice in the ceiling. Didn’t see any of them in the unit (or any evidence of any) but we could hear them in the ceiling at night. Recorded and video and you can hear the squeaking and scratching. I would never stay here again and would recommend no one else did either until there were changes to pest control and customer service. We still paid the cleaning fee on the room we cleaned but I guess we at least got free nightly entertainment from the mice mariachi band in the ceiling.

I knew this property would be small, but the combination of size, smell, and cleanliness was shocking. When I initially did a search for this property, I put in 5 guests (my husband and I, and our 3 small kids). This property came up as able to accommodate 5 of us. When I questioned the owner about where my third child could sleep (there are not many pictures, so I thought maybe there was a fold out couch), she replied that it was a mistake and it is only for 4 guests, but since I had already booked it, I was welcome to keep it if I wanted, but it would be tight (she told me she would change the listing to say 4 people, but it still says 5). Ok, no big deal - my kids are small. Two can double up on the bottom bunk.
What I didn’t realize is that there wasn’t even a place for 4 people to sit and eat. There are two bar stools at a tiny counter, most of which is taken up by a coffee maker, so only one person can comfortably eat at a time. We ended up taking turns to eat, or eating on the beds - gross.
When you walk into this unit, you are greeted by a smell (I think someone may have cleaned fish at the sink/garbage disposal). There’s an air freshener on the air vent to try to mask the smell.
We’ve stayed in other VRBOs and this was by far the dirtiest. The icing on the cake, however, were the mice that we heard running around in the ceiling every night as we were going to sleep.
The one upside is it’s proximity to the beach.
Would not recommend.

Our second trip back to this adorable cottage was just as great! The host is fantastic to work with! We spent time relaxing while enjoying the kayaks, fishing, puzzles, s’mores by the fire pit and catching firefly’s. The location couldn’t be better. We walked to local restaurants and the kids loved heading to the ice cream shop every night. Also, right near sterlings general store which has great pizza and subs and anything you may need to pick up for a home cooked meal, beverages or snacks. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

This was my husband and I's first trip to Fripp Island. We were looking for a vacation spot at the beach that was less crowded and slower paced. I'll start with the good, as it isn't all bad:
Pros:
1) It is literally right around the corner from the beach. I loved the closeness. (Although I thought our room faced the beach.)
2) The room was clean.
3) There were amenities very close.
4) The walking trail(s) were nice.
5) Having our experiences with the wildlife were incredible. Possibly our favorite part of the trip.
Cons:
1) Directions, check-in and locating the room were very confusing.
2) Parking was a NIGHTMARE. The spaces were so small.
3) It appears to be a stand-alone villa/condo, but it is located in a resort setting. With this comes the aggravation of noisy neighbors and lots of foot traffic, etc.
4) We were told nothing about member/guest cards. Upon inquiring, we learned that these needed to be purchased in order to have ANY access to the pool, food court, restaurants, food trucks, store, etc. (Thankfully the employee that we encountered was exceptionally nice and comped our entire stay with guest cards. She encouraged us to book through the resort next time.) If you did not have these cards, you would need to travel all the way back to St. Helena or Lady Island to get groceries or have dinner.
5) There was much traffic with golf carts with rowdy teenagers. I didn't like this atmosphere at all.
All-in-all, I don't think this listing is represented accurately.

This was a pilot run for going to the beach with a new small dog (17 lbs). The access to the beach was great! There is a small stove and oven in the kitchen we did not see in the pictures. Having a refrig and freezer was great. The unit is perfect for a couple, but would be difficult with children if you had bad weather and had to stay indoors due to size. Host was great to work with-very responsive.

The location was amazing. Needs a good deep cleaning but overall not disappointed.

The apartment does not have any decent chairs- the ones there - are very uncomfortable- you can only eat at the bar- no nightstands, everything is plastic= cups, plates - the bathroom was especially dirty!

Turns out we showed up to a rental that had not been cleaned. One call to the owner and she sent someone to take care of it and said she’d refund part of the stay.

My husband and I stayed here for about 4 days and it was the perfect place for us to relax after our wedding. The condo is right by the beach access, pool, and beach bar. We had an amazing time on Fripp island!

The initial addwe read and responded to showed two chairs in the room. None were there upon arrival. When I mentioned this to the host she said that was supposed to be taken down. But was no help after that. When told the toaster was burned out she said I better order one. Not a lot of help!

Perfect place for my wife and I

It is small but has all you need in the apartment. The resort is not set up for tourist. You really need a resort card to do almost anything. Stores are 20 minutes outside the resort. I tried to buy a card but could not get anyone to see the money they were losing by not letting me spend my money at the resort. I understood but it seems like a wasted opportunity for the resort to make same extra money....I would stay again because it was quiet and I brought all that I needed for my stay. My wife loved the beach and to me that was worth the lack of a resort card.

Awesome Extended Father's Day Weekend
The property was in very close proximity to the beach. It was nice and clean plus pet friendly. The only issue which was beyond the owner's control was parking, but Debroah provided an excellent solution that really helped out. She suggested that we park at two certain locations and unload our vehicle and then park right across the street (closer than it sounds). The food court is steps away from the unit. Deer are all around. It is an amazing place and Deborah is a great host who is always available to answer your questions. She also has someone in Beaufort to come out and help in case of an emergency.
