We had a wonderful time staying in the beautiful cottage near downtown Bend. The location is fantastic and we were able to walk to everything. The gardens are lovely and we absolutely enjoyed sitting on the back patio watching deer and hummingbirds. The cottage is elegant and comfortable with everything we needed for a fantastic weekend. The cottage was so well thought out. It's neat and clean and stocked with everything you would need. It was the perfect home base for us while we spent the week in Bend. The back patio was so peaceful and beautiful and we loved having a grill to use! Don is a great host - ready to answer any questions, or accommodate a need. And the location - so great to just walk to town! We will definitely be back!

For 2 of us, this cottage was perfect! It has everything you need and Don is a fantastic host. Very comfortable and clean and a great location. We even had deer hanging out with us in the back yard. Highly recommended if you are visiting Bend!

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The location is perfect with a short walk to the river and Old Bend. The cottage was clean, comfortable and we loved the way it was furnished. The patio is absolutely delightful. They have thought of everything. We had contemplated staying at a hotel for our brief stay but so glad we didn't. This was so much better. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were planning a trip to Portland for a wedding and wanted to spend a few days in Bend before the wedding.
Don and Marlines cottage was perfect. They have thought of everything and provided a lovely place for a stopover or lengthier stay that left us wanting to stay longer.
The cottage is perfectly located to take advantage of everything Bend has to offer. It is within a short Walking distance to the river, breweries and amazing restaurants. Although we didn’t spend a lot of time in the cottage what we did spend there was extremely comfortable.
They have created a beautiful cottage in a lovely garden with a private patio for the guest cottage and gave great advice for restaurants and area trips.

This cottage was very well equipped very comfortable. The outdoor space was spectacular it even included deer quill, and all kinds of outdoor animals. You could come to this cottage and just sit in the backyard and enjoy the whole trip. It was convenient to downtown and it was easy to access.

We were very comfortable in the cottage. Immaculate throughout. Nice bed, good shower and full kitchen. Private entrance and parking. (Follow his directions for the easiest way to get there.)
The location is what sold us. Quiet neighborhood and easy walk to Mirror Pond and all the restaurants and shops. Recommend Jinsei spa just one block away.
The beautiful yard, outdoor seating area and friendly hosts made it a truly relaxing vacation.

What a delightful place to stay in Bend. The Cottage is very well located, 5 minute walk to downtown and the Deschutes River Trail. The hosts keep it immaculate and it is the best equipped VRBO we've ever stayed in. Hosts are very nice and the grounds that the Cottage share with the host's home is beautiful. Deer come into the yard most days. Wonderful.

The perfect home base for our explorations in Bend and the surrounding areas. Don was an excellent and welcoming host, providing plenty of suggestions and local knowledge on places to explore, including our favorite - waterfalls. The cottage is clean, cozy and warm with everything needed to make for a comfortable stay. Outside spaces are serene and inviting - both in 70-degree warm weather and in the snow, as we found out on our spring break trip! The convenience of being walking-distance to everything in old Bend can't be overstated. We also greatly appreciated having the EV charger - waking up to a full battery every morning, ready to go. We can't wait to come back!

The experience started several months before the stay. The owner contacted me and offered customized advice for our trip. He was always helpful and responsive before and during the stay. When we mentioned a loose brick on the patio, he was out the same day rebuilding it.
The accommodations are clean and well designed. Space is limited, but comfortable for two people with separate living room and bedroom. Air conditioning was sufficient for the heat wave during our stay and the outdoor patio was nice in the evenings.
Location was excellent, with Old Bend a five minute walk across the river.

This cottage is perfect: lovely design and decor, immaculate, extremely well-stocked kitchen, beautiful patio surrounded by lush gardens, EV charger (yay!!), very quiet, but only 2 blocks from all the best spots in old downtown. If that isn’t enough, Don and Marline are charming and attentive hosts. We hope to visit again in the future.

If you looked up the definition of perfect in the dictionary it would say “2nd Street Cottage, Bend Oregon”. This property was absolutely perfect for my wife and I. Very well appointed interior decorating that was comfortable and warm, combined with exceptional exterior yard landscaping. Don our host was very accommodating providing great tips on restaurants (many that were in walking distance to downtown), and local side trips to explore. We will definitely be returning for another stay.

My husband and I spent five days at the cottage. We came to visit our son who lives nearby, but we also needed to work some of the days. The WiFi was great - neither of us had any trouble with Zoom meetings, even while sitting outside on the beautiful patio.
Don was a very helpful host and we loved staying there. It's a beautiful and very comfortable place. Hope to be back soon!

I would rate this property as superior in all categories. Don and his wife, Marline, anticipated and provided all the amenities that anyone could want for this cozy two-person cottage. The cottage was spotless, airy, and well appointed. The yard and gardens were lovely. Don was friendly, personable, and professional. He eagerly provided suggestions for dining as well as outdoor activities. In the cottage, there many printed resources for the City of Bend and its surrounding attractions. My wife and I would certainly stay here again when we visit Bend.

Cottage is great. Location is right across the bridge from downtown and is super convenient. Place is well equipped (they’ve literally thought of everything). Don is the best host ever. Need a restaurant recommendation, a suggestion on a trail to hike or anything else, he’s got an answer and is happy to fill you in on the best parts of his town. Don’t hesitate, stay here!

This cottage is a must-stay if you are visiting Bend. As you can tell from the listing, the owners take pride in providing a great place with every little detail you could imagine to make your stay great. The reality actually exceeded the expectation from the listing. The cottage is great, has a fantastic private back yard and private parking and is stocked with every detail you need to enjoy Bend, even items to borrow for picnicking and other activities. But beyond that is the incredible location. Just a 3 minute walk not just to downtown Bend but to the heart of the downtown shops and restaurants. Also the same short walk to the famous and lovely riverside parks. It was so nice to walk into downtown every night for dinner or to the park for live music and never have to worry about parking or traffic. Don made the reservation and check in process incredibly easy and met us at check-in to give an overview of the property and features. You would be crazy to stay anywhere else, especially some noisy and crowded hotel when you could have your own private cottage just steps from downtown in a quiet upscale neighborhood.

Cottage is fresh and clean and all appliances and finishes in great condition. Quiet neighborhood and walkable to town. Don has paid attention to all the details. Our 3 year old daughter loved sleeping on her own pullout bed and she loved walking the garden paths. The deer made an appearance as well! Thank you Don!

This cottage is darling. It's a short walk to the river and downtown which was perfect for leaving the car parked. Inside, the proprietors have literally thought of everything one could want/need. And the cottage opens into the amazing garden full of flowers and nature. I love that this mama deer and her two fawns came through daily to browse. This was our first time staying in something other than a hotel and we may never go back to staying in a hotel again.

In town for lacrosse tournament
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage in Bend. The property owner Don was so helpful and accommodating. We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and there were 3 of us staying in the cottage. It is small and cozy, but we fit comfortably. My teenage daughter slept on the pull out couch and she said it was the most comfortable sofa bed she has slept on. The location cannot be beat. It is a short 5-10 min walk to restaurants in town as well as to Drake park. We look forward to coming back to Bend and would love to stay in the cottage again.

Exceeded my expectations!
The Cottage exceeded all of my expectations (which are usually pretty high). It was my first time in Bend and the Cottage is a10 minute walk from town. Everything is well appointed including the Pottery Barn furnishings (I have some of them in my home), Bosch dishwasher, good sized bathroom with the softest towels ever, and an amazing patio area where I did see a deer on my last morning. I got sushi to go one night and wished I had some extra soy sauce. I opened the fridge and voila there was a fresh bottle of Kikkoman!

Perfect cottage for a couple
This is a wonderful VRBO experience. Don and Marline have everything you need in this place. Great location that is easy walking distance to downtown eating and entertainment and all the riverfront trails. Extremely clean. They have put together a comprehensive guidebook for the facilities and exploring the area. They have even provided passes for state parks! Wonderful deck space for relaxing. You can hear the waterfalls that are just 2 blocks away. We hope to someday return to Bend and wIll definitely pick this place.

Wonderful, Cute and Comfy Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage. They had everything one would need and then some. It was tastefully decorated and very clean. We also enjoyed the patio in the garden area. A great place to have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We definitely plan on coming back.

This property is gem! Very well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size. Very clean and quiet. I will rent here again during my next visit to Bend!
