The cabin was beautiful, with amazing wood work. It was super quiet, and the hosts have thought of everything. Our interactions with Carol were pleasant, and she was available for any questions we had. If you are visiting the north east part of Yellowstone Park, we would highly recommend you stay here.

Beautiful cabin Carol and Pete were great. Located 2 miles from yellow stone. The drive over bear tooth highway is worth the time

Absolutely fabulous. Pete and Carol are wonderful host. The information they provided was fabulous. We took hikes based on the information. The cabin was cozy, very clean and well kept, sitting on the porch you smell the pines. We even were able to see a mama moose and 2 of her babies right. The grounds you are able to use are stunning, sitting by the river, fishing.

The cabin is fantastic, just outside of yellowstone just as advertised. We had a momma moose and her babies in the yard everyday. Wonderful owners. Would definitely stay again

This was our fourth(?) time staying with the Widmans, and this property never fails to deliver. The proximity to the park and the pass make it the perfect base camp for daily excursions. You should definitely stay here, but please don't take the dates we like. :)

Amazing!!! 11 star rating!!
Handcrafted mastery. I spent hours looking at the details of the wood work and forgot to watch TV. Super cool, fresh, super pure drinking water. Super quiet and isolated but close to everything.
The Widman's are fantastic hosts and we enjoyed a week on their property.
Staying at the Widman’s property will be a memory to cherish for a lifetime.

Carol’s property is simply amazing, and she is probably the best host we have ever had. The cabin is so cozy and spotless, and very comfortable, with everything you need. The location and surroundings, right next to Yellowstone Park and creekside, are spectacular. Even though we did have to cut our stay short by 2 nights due to the historic floods in Yellowstone, we enjoyed our stay very much and can’t wait to return.

We visit Yellowstone National Park frequently but have never explored this area just outside its NE entrance. The duplex cabin is located in a forested area away from the main road and the property borders Soda Butte Creek. The cabin is beautifully done, all Pete's handcrafted handiwork right down to custom made counters, pantry and built-ins etc. We had everything needed for comfort and making meals. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch. A short hike from the cabin is the beautiful Bridal Falls. So close to Yellowstone National Park. Great place to get away from the crowds. Thank you Carol and Pete for sharing this cabin with us!

This Cabin was wonderful with special perks and furnishings. The location was great, hosts were lovely and there was ample peace and quiet. Silver Tip Cabin was the nicest vacation place both my Sister and I have ever stayed in during our many travels! Thank you and 5 stars to our amazing hosts!

Our stay at the cabin was great. The owner Carol was lovely
and came out to great us when we arrived to show us around the cabin and answer any questions we had about the area. It was nice to know she was so close if we needed something as well as accommodating helpful. The cabin had everything we needed and was quiet and comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights and wished we had more time to explore the cabin surroundings but would certainly stay again.
One morning we were getting ready to leave for Yellowstone and there was a buffalo in the back yard! We loved the area being so close to the park entrance (only one mile away). The two little cities (Slivergate and Cooke) were great places to walk around shop and find something to eat.
Thanks again Carol for your hospitality.

Pete & Carol’s have created this rustic but eloquent cabin that is tucked in the mountain pines with scenic Mountain Views. It’s peaceful and scenic. Relaxing by the Soda Butte Creek, makes this cabin special. So many details went into this cabin. Pictures on Vrbo don’t show its entirety. Imagine sitting on the front porch w a cup of coffee, while listening to nature, while soaking up peacefulness. We felt it’s the best area to be in if you want to experience Yellowstone, or take a drive on the Beartooth Scenic Highway which is a must! Lamar Valley is the place to see wildlife , plus is the fastest way to get into the park without wait lines. We saw Bears. Cubs, Bison, pronghorns, bald eagle, moose, mountain goats, plus foxes.

This property in Silver Gate was perfect for our visit to the Lamar Valley in YNP. The kitchen was set up well with utensils and pots and pans, and there is a cupboard with ample space for storing dry goods (very limited access to groceries, so we came prepared!). There is also a good supply of casserole dishes and storage containers if needed. The stove works well, runs hot so heating up servings of chili took no time at all, and the oven also heats up quickly. The bed was very comfortable, there are terrific built-in cabinets and shelves and the overall layout of the cabin works well.
Finally, many thanks to Carol and Pete for their warm hospitality!

The cabin and its great location to Yellowstone National Park makes it a perfect vacation getaway. The cabin is beautifully constructed and comes complete with everything you need to perfect your stay. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch rockers to sitting in the chairs along the river and enjoying the mountain views. We were also fortunate to have a momma moose and her little one visit the property three times.! The hosts-- Pete and Carol made us felt like we were old friends-- they are a wealth of knowledge for the area. Our time was way to short- and we look forward to going back to this home away from home rental. To Pete and Carol-- thank you for opening your property for others to enjoy-- its is truly an amazing place!

Pete and Carol are wonderful hosts. We lacked for nothing. Being so close to Yellowstone was a great opportunity to go in, out and through any time. Beautiful weather. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will plan to visit again in the future.

We arrived to a nicely furnished cabin that looked new. We rested so much better than the previous two nights when we stayed in the park. Carol and Pete came to meet us and make sure everything was perfect. We highly recommend this cabin when you visit Yellowstone.

Being recently retired, we wanted a place we could stay for 3 weeks near the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone. The Silvertip Cabins were perfect for us and our hosts, Carol and Pete were wonderful. We really felt like this was home at the end of a long day hiking, wolf watching or site seeing in the Park. The cabin was really a work of art, so comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed cooking on the grill most nights and sitting down by the Soda Butte Creek at the end of the day. As others have said, the bed was so comfy, and great reading lights.
I would sit in the rocking chair and just marvel at all the special touches in the cabin that Carol and Pete had put in place.
I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a quieter park experience and for being close to the most beautiful part of the park, the Lamar Valley.

We stayed in this beautiful cabin in the woods for 3 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer! The pictures on the website definitely do not do it justice. It's much bigger than we expected, and is just so comfortable! We could have lived there. There was plenty of space to spread out - we each had an area on the bathroom counter for our stuff, and the bedroom has a huge storage space complete with a table for your bags, plus plenty of drawers and hanging space. The king size bed was the most comfortable we slept on during our 2 1/2 week vacation through Montana and Wyoming - so comfortable that I emailed Carol afterwards to ask her what kind it was so we can get one at home! The whole place is very thoughtfully laid out. The Cooke City-Silver Gate area is just lovely, we really enjoyed our time there! This cabin is very close to the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone with easy access to Lamar Valley. We will definitely be calling again if we make it back to the area! Great, great value. We saw other cabins that I had looked into before booking here, and we were so happy with our choice. Thanks Pete and Carol!!

This cabin is fantastic. The pictures on the website don't do this cabin justice. We could have not ask for a better place to stay while we were visiting Yellowstone and the surrounding area. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and well stocked. the bed was very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a great stay. Carol and Pete were so friendly. One of the nights we were there, we came in late from a full day of exploring Yellowstone, Carol had gone in, turned the lights on and turned the heat up for us.(yes it was September, but it got cold that night) . they are just great people. we would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone traveling in this area that needs a great place to stay at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place.

My wife and I were extremely pleased with this cabin. We loved the layout and wilderness decor. Although this cabin is attached to another cabin, we did not hear any noise.
If you wait too long to book your trip to Yellowstone and can't stay in the park, consider staying in this cabin. It is very reasonably priced for how close it is to the Northeast Entrance.
Carol and Pete were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the restaurant and horseback riding place they recommended. They also provided us with some extra items we forgot to buy. You're not going to find better hosts than Carol and Pete. We highly recommend Silvertip Cabins to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful stay close to Yellowstone.

We were here for a week and I have nothing but good things to say about this cabin. The owners, Carol and Pete, obviously put a lot of thought into how to make these cabins welcoming for their renters. The cabin is very well laid out and has all the little touches like a nightstandand reading lamp on both sides of the bed - an actual dresser for your clothes - a well stocked kitchen. The owners are very friendly and helpful and have lots of info for your use in planning your days. There is a river flowing right in the front of the property and a firepit (with wood provided) for your use. We saw deer wandering around the property almost every day. I look forward to staying in this cabin again.

What a perfect location. Nestled in among some MT Old growth forest and close to so many waterfalls and magnificent mountains. My only regret will be that we have to leave! The cabin is new and clean and just far enough away from town to keep it peaceful. Thanks to Carol and Pete for a great place to stay and great advice on things to do and see!

We loved our stay here. The cabin was exactly as described, and the perfect size for 2 adults. Very comfortable... and the fire pit on the river was a nice touch! The entrance to Yellowstone is conveniently located just down the road.
5.0 / 10.0
Just a wonderful place to stay. Extremely clean upon or arrival and our host checked with us to see if we had everything we needed or had any questions. Great kitchen with new appliances and a wonderful bathroom with sliding curved glass shower. New rustic looking cabin and constructed extremely well. Nice front porch and creek-side fire pit. Outside gas grill allowed us to cook our own meals which was a big plus! Bed was firm and comfortable. Interior decorations and furnishings appeared to be done by an interior decorator (done by host). It is a super place for a couple on a vacation / romantic get-a-way. Can't say enough great things about the cabin or the folks who own it (they live within shouting distance). One mile from Yellowstone NE entrance and the unbelievable scenic Beartooth Highway...a must see. Would stay at this cabin whenever we visit Silver Gate again.
