The property exceeded my expectations. It is in a beautiful location, peaceful, quiet, private, with a distinct character all of its own. The short stroll to the beach through spectacularly maintained tropical gardens was delightful. All the mechanicals worked flawlessly, the bed was comfortable, there were plenty of clean fluffy towels, plenty of hot water, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The local lizards, frogs, peacocks, made me feel very welcome and very much at home. The semi private white sand beach is amazing. I could sit for a long time just staring out over Hooper's Bay, watching the water and the sky change color, and sea turtles that came very close to shore and were entertaining. The owners obviously love and care very much for this place, and it was a privilege to be able to stay there for ten days.

The Tree House was the perfect cottage for my husband and I. Not too far from the airport or Georgetown. The neighborhood of Old Hooper's Bay is VERY private and quiet. OHB has it's own little beach with soft, white sand and great for kayaking or paddle boarding. The house has everything you could want. They recently upgraded to a bit larger tv and Direct TV Sat. From what we could tell though, no way to access Netflix or Amazon Prime (no Roku hookups found..?) We also enjoyed visits from a couple of peacocks during our stay.
We were there during a VERY bad stretch of weather..extremely heavy rains, island wide flooding, some roads unpassable..it went on for about 10 days to 2 weeks, from what we were told. Unfortunately, the already fragile electrical system on island was stressed even more and our power went out several times, mainly after the bad weather stopped. Our last night, we actually went into town to spend the night at a hotel. Power wasn't an issue there and we really needed a good (cool) night's sleep and showers before flying home. Pam was a wonderful host. She communicated with us and answered any questions while we were there, responding quickly. Even though she didn't have to (and we didn't ask for one) she refunded our last night. The issues we had were out of anyone's control. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Tree House and stay there again :-)

The Treehouse was the perfect spot for my partner and I to enjoy a low key and restful vacation. It’s a quick drive from the airport and has a market just down the road. The private beach was just lovely. We were the only ones there about 80% of the time. There’s some nice large trees so we were able to sit in the shade without worrying about an umbrella (though there is one at the house) and we used the supplied beach chairs most days. We even saw some turtles swimming by one day! The Treehouse is just a quick little stroll to the beach through a beautifully maintained garden. The house itself had everything we needed to make ourselves some quick and easy dinners with food from the market. Pam was lovely and responsive any time we had a question. We had a fantastic time and will be back soon!

Absolutely Amazing!
The view from the porch was absolutely spectacular. The house was perfect for 2 people. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was nice and comfy. The AC kept us nice and cool at night. The walk to the beach was so fun! I thought it was going to be troublesome, but walking to and from the beach was one of my favorite daily activities (It’s only about a 5-minute walk). The gardens are so beautiful. The semi-private beach was breathtaking. We are early morning people, so most days we spent hours on the beach with no one around. Pam was an amazing host and was very quick to respond to any questions.
The house is in a great location, close to the airport and Georgetown. It is off the main road and you are in a secluded little nook with a great view. It was a short drive to the grocery store and restaurants. I highly recommend Shirley’s! Pam also has great recommendations for restaurants and things to do around the island.
Be mindful that the internet is spotty on the island, but our cell service worked great. We enjoyed the disconnect from the internet and spent our time walking the beach and reading books. (I only mention it in case you are thinking about coming there to do a lot of work requiring the internet and this does not reflect a problem with the house, but a part of being on the Out Islands)
This was by far one of the best vacations I have ever had. I would come back to Exuma and this house in a heartbeat!!!!

Perfect house for a couple retreat
We absolutely loved the tree house, it's so cozy and comfortable and the view is just outstanding. We weren't sure about having to walk to the beach but turns out it's a lovely stroll and you're there in a heartbeat. Also the beautiful rock garden you're walking through makes it very enjoyable. The privat beach is just perfect, most of the time we had it to ourselves. Highly recommend this rental property! Thank you Pam for a wonderful stay , you are a great host and always quick to respond!

The Tree House is the Perfect Retreat
We had a wonderful experience at the Tree House. It had everything we needed, and the view of the ocean is simply unbeatable. The garden path down to the beach is an amazing walk through more types of flora than I could count. The hosts were unbelievably gracious, even giving us fresh fruit to enjoy for sunset on the beach. Location in the center of Great Exuma is also ideal, and we were able to get everywhere we needed to go with a rental car. Also, the property has wild peacocks that are allowed to roam free— so cool! If you are visiting Exuma as a couple, I can’t imagine a better place to stay than the Tree House!!

Excellent. Great accommodations, excellent view, in the middle of everything and very comfortable.

BEST. PLACE. EVER.
This property is a dream! The location is outstanding, right in the middle of the island and only a short drive from the airport and Georgetown. Pam thought of absolutely everything to make our stay wonderful and it certainly was. We made excellent use of the beach park and there is even a little reef to snorkel if you’re up for it! We spent a lot of time on the spacious porch overlooking the bay, and it was a great spot for sunrises and sunsets! Even the bed was amazingly comfortable. Everything we needed to cook was available, and although we did not spend much time inside, it was very homey and had the best island touches. We will be back!!!

Great view, close to the baech!
My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the tree house. Close to the beach and the little park down by the water. House is very well equipped and super clean! Next time we visit the Exuma we definitely would love to stay here again.

Favorite place on the island!
This Tree House packs a lot of punch! Very well thought out and it lacks for nothing. The neighborhood is lovely with lots of vegetation and it’s own private beach. The area is very convenient to all the amenities the island has to offer as it is right in the middle. You are close to the airport and Georgetown as well as restaurants in either direction.
The home itself is very clean and bright with lots of Bahamian flavor! Washer and dryer is a huge plus.
Communication with the owner is swift and timely and they have left a binder in the house full of information and their recommendations. Don’t miss out on the Tree House...it is a gem!

Breezy and Serene
We loved the treehouse. The screened windows and the view of the water and treetops command relaxation. About a 5 minute walk down to the private beach to read in hammocks, swim and play in the sand.

Beautiful, private and laid back. 6 stars our of 5
We stayed in the Treehouse for 8 nights in December/January. It is beautiful, private and laid back. Great location, private access beach and the house itself is simple but extremely well equipped with a kitchen, air con, wifi, local phone and everything you need to be comfortable.
Perfect for any couple visiting Exuma. Pam the owner is fantastic to deal with and gives you great tips for the island. Highly recommended. Can't think of a single fault.

Perfect location
Pam is a great host who made everything seamless, great communication. The treehouse has beautiful views of hoopers bay and we loved sitting on the deck every morning having coffee. As someone who has visited exuma before, the location is perfect. Very close to Georgetown (gas, straw market, minns, grocery, liquor stores etc). It's basically in the middle of the island so you couldn't ask for a better spot. Hoopers bay is insanely gorgeous and private. Amazing!

Nice and clean independent house with everything you might need to feel yourself at home. Close to George town but out of the main street. nice external balcony. Really nice place to enjoy the island from...highly recommended

Picture perfect!
My husband I just returned from a week at the Tree House and everything was glorious. The decorations were perfect! We had breakfast on the porch every morning and enjoyed the beautiful views. And on the days we took off from exploring the many beautiful beaches of Exuma we snorkeled and swam at the stunning and mostly empty Old Hoopers Bay beach. The location was great for getting around the island. No issues to report other than the post-vacation blues we are experiencing this week. We can't wait to return. Thank you, Pam!

This is the place!
What a little gem on Great Exuma! Quiet and secluded, yet so close to Georgetown, grocery and restaurants. The little beach park is simply beautiful. Uniquely landscaped, this is a perfect place to spend a few hours on your own private beach - with a very comfortable hammock! Pam and Bill are wonderful hosts and the neighbors in Old Hoopers Bay are warm and welcoming. What hospitality! We spent 17 nights at the Tree House and enthusiastically recommend it to those who are looking for a place to experience the best of Great Exuma. Thanks again Pam and Bill!

Great time!
My husband and I enjoyed our time at the tree house so much. We loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings, very relaxing. Everything was very clean! Our favorite restaurant on the island was Santana's. We rented a boat for a day and toured around the bay ourselves. Prime island meats is so close to the house and has delicious sandwiches too! Everything was wonderful. The house is very close to town. We found it very convenient!

quiet and peaceful!
The perfect spot for two people who need and love peace and quiet! The house is located on beautiful Hoopers Bay - what can we say what hasn't been mentioned already - private beach with a small house reef, you can hang around in the water all day long, all kind of fish, sea turtles and much more , the house was clean and well equiped, just what we expected and had hoped for. Being able to use the kayak a few times was great! We were also very glad we had a rental car, so we could explore all the amazing beaches on Exuma, and everything elses this island has to offer!
Pam was a great help, giving tips on what to do and where to go, and answering all our questions way before arriving on Exuma!
There was only one thing who gave us a tough time in those two weeks in august, the AC in the small bedroom was out of order/broken/ not fixed/ whatever. The fan on the ceiling of the small bedroom could not handle the standing heat at all, no matter what you did, entering the bedroom was like hitting a wall and not to mentione trying to sleep. This had me sleeping on the floor in the living/dining room area a couple times....
Besides that- we would always recommend Exuma! Especially Hoopers Bay- the best place to stay!

Highly Recommend The Tree House
I can't say enough good things about Pam or The Tree House. Pam responded to all my inquiries very quickly, and had pages upon pages of helpful information available that we used to do the majority of planning for our week in the Exumas. The house is located extremely centrally - its just a short drive from the airport, to grocery and liquor stores, and George Town. Wake up every morning to see the Caribbean sunrise over the sea, and then spend the day at the (VERY private) Old Hoopers Bay beach, where you will likely not see another person, and the snorkeling is absolutely fantastic.
The Tree House has everything you need and more - washer/dryer, every kitchen accoutrement you can think of, coffee pot, fantastic balcony, AC, fans, and wi-fi. It was perfectly clean when we arrived. We were very comfortable and would highly recommend this property - we're so grateful that we found it and were able to stay here. Thank you Pam - we hope to come back one day.
Exuma is the real deal - stunning, stunning water, islands, and cays. Just be sure to bring Off! repellent everywhere you go (mosquitoes are bad but Deet works immediately), more sunscreen than you think you'll need, and plan for lotssss of time between flight connections to and from the island :)

Perfect getaway
We recently spent nine days at the Tree House. If you are looking for a place to completely relax, chill-out, and just "watch the flowers grow" then Exuma, and especially the Tree House, is the place for you. Simple, but very comfortable accommodation with everything that you will need, and just a few minutes walk to a virtually private sandy beach. Local shopping for all the essentials is nearby, but you will need a car - we used Berlies, and they were fine. I can only say ....... we plan to go again!!

Quiet and beautiful
Very quiet and beautiful place. About 2 minute walk to perfect, secluded beach. Lovely place - just like on VRBO photos.
Air conditioned. And Pam with her husband are very friendly and helpful. We had everything we needed. Nothing more to say. Paradise.

Beautiful house, quiet relaxing stay
We loved the Tree House, it was exactly what my wife and I needed. The photos accurately portray the property as a quiet, lovely structure perfect for a secluded getaway for two. While its quite possible to just wile away your time doing nothing other than reading a book and admiring the view from the balcony, exploring Exuma is highly recommended and for that a rental car is needed. We recommend Thompson's who we've used on numerous occasions and have never let us down. Are they cheap? No, but that's the way things are on the island (gas is $4.50 a gallon!). There are many beaches to choose from ranging from having just a few people on them to being completely deserted but all are beautiful! take your pick! The Tree House is high on the convenience factor being close to Georgetown so supplies are easy to come by but being tucked away down a private road you feel so far away from it all. Great communication from Pam, the property was immaculately clean, I'd have absolutely no hesitation in returning or recommending it to a couple wanting quiet relaxing seclusion.

A True Home Away from Home
My husband and I spent a week at the Tree House. We loved it and felt truly disconnected from our daily stress. The house provides everything you could possibly need. It is obvious Pam set the house up to be a true home away. Thank you. Each detail was greatly appreciated.
The island of Exuma is incredible. We felt safe during the day and night. The people are friendly and very helpful. Always a smile. A week simply isn't enough.
We will be returning. A year is so long to wait!

Tree House, Exuma - Excellent!!!
My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights in Feb 2016. I found the owner to be very friendly and accommodating. The house was exactly what we hoped it would be. Small 1 bedroom / bath with laundry and kitchen & AC if you want it. The best part about the house was the location. You are close to amenities but just outside the traffic in Old Hoopers Bay. The property is tucked in away from others so there is no traffic by the house and built into a hill. The small association has a private beach with a couple coral heads out front if you just want to walk down and hang out, we never saw anyone else. The majority of the ocean facing side is windows or sliding doors so with an elevated deck you woke up to the sunrise over the ocean every morning surrounded by lush trees and flowering vines. A few resident peacocks were also fun to see daily. We ate breakfast on the deck every morning where the only sound you heard was birds, ocean, and breeze with the occasional plane of course. The house was clean and comfortable. Zero bugs or other creatures living with you, which is no big deal but is common on other islands. Did have Direct TV if you get the odd rainy evening. The internet was typical island style, it works when it wants too, but more often than not it worked just fine not that I really wanted to check a few emails anyway. Working house phone and the owners were nice enough to leave a local cell phone if you wanted to use it. We felt right at home, I really can't say enough good things about it and I suspect we will be back in the future.
Our idea of a good vacation is typically an island where we can explore by boat, bike, foot, or car and find small beaches where we are likely the only people we see all day and easy access to snorkeling (where I could spend days on end). We normally couldn't care less if there are restaurants, prefer to avoid hotels etc. Naturally, the out islands are a good place for us. We found Exuma to be a great mix of convenience (good airport, grocery access, car, restaurants, relatively inexpensive gas etc), social activity if you want a few boat tours or you are a resort type, and if you want to disappear on the beach or do your own thing you can easily do that too. Boat rentals at Minn' in town is a great convenience, they are in great condition (which is usually rare on the outer islands) and give you access to the barrier islands to hang on the beach, snorkel, or hit the Chat N Chill if you want.

Quiet, private get-away
The Tree House was as described on HomeAway. No nasty surprises and as we had hoped. We were very cosy there and had everything we needed. Highlight was the beach. We were all over the Bahamas and Grand Cayman on this trip and did not find a better little piece of paradise . No coral, no sea urchins. Private & secluded. Pleasant five minute walk from Tree House.
Had a good trip to see the piggies (our main reason for visit) with Coastline Adventures. Also Forrester , Taxi 24 ,was reliable and friendly. Found George Town grocery shopping limited and expensive. Best place we ate at was next to Mom's Bakery in Little Exuma past Tropic of Cancer Beach (which was very cool) It was a round beach front place that did great Lobster and Grouper.
Anyway. The Tree House was a pretty, colourful cottage, clean and well organised. Would not hesitate to recommend .
