Can tell property was worked on to update but not done well. Employee at front desk extremely nice.
Breakfast was terrible. Room was dark and crowded. No elevator and we are elderly. Just run down and tired place.

The air conditioner wasn't working. I didn't stay. I found another place to stay.

The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a good bathtub and well working toilet. The tv also worked well.
Cleaner knocked on our door before 11.

Price looked reasonable but very disappointed experience. Will not make this mistake again.
No elevators. Chemical toxic smell to mask indoor odour. So inadequate breakfast- hardly any food. Inaccurate advertising on internet.

The br3eakfast was bananas and packaged muffins. I will say the coffee was excellant. The rooms were not very clean. The towels were small old and not good quality, more motel than hotel. There was a peculiar smell in the hallway, made me lightly ill.. No elevator, isn't that a fire code violation?
See above.

Location close to St. Olaf College. Front desk staff was helpful.
I am 77, was originally booked for a 2nd floor.. the facility has no elevator. Front desk clerk moved mt to the first floor. Room refrigerator was loud as it ran 24-7.. woke me up at night. Need additional rolls of toilet paper in bathroom. Blanket on bed was very thin, did not see a spare. My brother was in a room on the first floor that smelled of cigarette smoke. He moved into my room to be able to breathe.

It was nice we could open the window in the room for fresh air!
Didn’t bother with breakfast (packaged mini muffins and juice). No elevator. Hallways smelled strongly of cigarettes as did our bathroom at times. Towels were scratchy and not very absorbent. Beds were hard with subpar linens. Decor is very outdated and bathroom needs to be patched and repainted where they’ve swapped light fixtures. Things seemed clean enough, but given the conditions of everything I didn’t want to look TOO closely.

Incredibly bad experience. Room and whole hotel smelled of smoke. Paint was peeling in my room and the one chair had a 12” cut through the upholstery with the padding hanging out. I would have been ok with all of that. But they had a heater for the room that they had a timer on it. Heat was cut off sometime in the middle of the night in January in Minnesota. I got really cold. At first I thought it was me until I realized the heat was shut off and on a timer. At 3:30 am I put on a full set of clothes and climbed back into bed. Still couldn’t get warm enough. Never was able to sleep because of the cold. Never going back.

breakfast. I have never seen so little food offered for breakfast. There was no tea.

Horrible! we went over to Perkins to eat.
Your breakfast. Price for 1 night was very expensive for what we got. Lamp shades by the bed still had the plastic wrap on.
Carpet wasn't tucked into the wall, unfinished.

Room was not cleaned and very bad smelling.
Hotel was not for families.

I liked that their air conditioning was the stable thing the hotel had to offer. The lady at the front desk was also a treat and tried her best to accommodate to our needs.
I did not like the fact that the room we booked smelled like cat pee, we did manage to change our room but that reeked of cigarettes even though it’s a “no smoking “ room. The free breakfast is basically bread you toast and small cups of yogurt, which took another blow. Facility not very clean so had to buy my own cleaning products in order to clean the facility. definitely do not recommend.

The staff was very friendly and personable. Location was convenient, internet was free/fast, AC worked fine, hotel had a quiet hours policy, easy checkout.
The rooms were in poor condition, particularly the bathrooms. The fixtures were corroded, even slimy, the sink didn’t drain, the drywall had rot, etc. Everything was generally shabby, and clearly has been for quite some time given earlier reviews as well as what I was told by a friend who’d visited previously. Better to consider it as a budget hotel with 3 star pricing when you need a place to sleep with AC and a shower.

friendly staff
air conditioner did not work well & had a change filter indicator.
There was no battery in the smoke detector.
The exhaust fan in the bathroom was missing. papers were wadded up into the recess where the fan should be. Because of the bathroom fan absence, the room was damp.
there were new wall lamps attached on each side of the bed, but there was cellophane on the lamp shades. I removed the cellophane since there was no battery in the smoke detector. (fire hazard)

The breakfast situation was the worst, very little choice and poor coffee quality, and lack of fresh fruit variety, cereal choices, pathetic generally.
All the pillows were too thick so I got neck pains. With 3 pillows on a bed, why not have a gradation of thickness?
I wrote this in the previous box, sorry to be the wrong box, but please read it.
We stayed in earlier years in this motel, and can see that it was remodeled and appearance improved, good signage is up, but the breakfast situation is really regrettable.

The shower in the first room wouldn't adjust and was too hot. I was
moved to another room and that shower never warmed up.

No housekeeping for our room while we were there

The beds were decent. That is the last good thing I will say. The staff were never at their desk but would come when called.
The pillows were poor, the bathroom was pretty awful -- it looked like it had been constructed by a 7th grade shop class using recycled materials. And the breakfast was a few pieces of bread, weak orange juice, and a banana. The location was out of the way -- the only thing nearby was the police station.
